    Successes: On track with exercise, eating, sleep, and weight is still going in the right direction (albeit, slowly now, as I get closer to goal weight). This week's weigh-in has finally fallen on a day when my weight is back in the "healthy" BMI category. Here's hoping it doesn't bounce back up to "overweight"!

    Challenges: Just feeling a bit more stressed as the Christmas period approaches, knowing what a challenge it is going to be. That's having an impact on how I feel. I just need to make sure I am extra good in the next three weeks to make up for a little bad over the holiday period. And I don't expect to "lose" weight this month when it all averages out... just trying my hardest to make sure I can maintain the loss and not go backwards.

    Change to diet: Quit snacking on high sugar/calorie/carb snacks all day and evening long. Have cut sugar consumption to under 40 gms a day which in turn cut carbs as well.

    Successes: Safely in the "healthy" weight category now! Am just keeping at it: eating well, fasting, exercising, sleeping well.

    Challenges: Had some stress last week - my teen daughter has depression and anxiety and had a bit of a crash, didn't go to school for a week. While I mostly stayed on track with my health goals, I had two days in a row where the stress increased cravings and hunger, combined with PMT, and I cracked into the 70% dark chocolate and probably over ate a bit. Anyway, that's life. We can't be 100% perfect!

    Finally got the clearance from the surgeon to run again! First run in 8 weeks. Started with week 9 of C210k and day 1 was good. Felt amazing actually. So glad I was able to maintain my weight while being in a low activity state.

    Successes: At the beginning of this year I set myself the goal to lose 50kgs by 1st Feb 2020 - well I've hit that with 1.5 months to spare!

    Challenges: I've let my sleep and exercise stray a little, have been keeping myself busy in the evenings and losing track of time, and I had three days in a row where I didn't do my normal exercise. Leg cramps in the middle of the night made my calves sore, my partner turned off my alarm one morning so I didn't wake until it was too late to do my normal exercise routine, and I haven't been good about picking up the slack at another time. Need to keep on top of this!

    Just returned from a week with kids/grandkids. 5 & 6 year olds have a ton of energy. While I remained busy with getting in a couple of runs and pool time with the little ones, I still ate too much junk food (lots of salt), holiday snacks and meals and travel food. Now back to normal life for a couple of weeks before a 14 day cruise.

    Successes: Have avoided most Xmas temptations and kept to a modified version of my way of eating, exercise, and managed not to regain this week (actually had a loss!), while still eating lots of nice food.

    Challenges: Festive season. Stress and challenge of eating my way while staying with family, as well as handling difficult extended family dynamics. I've kept to time-restricted eating, low-carb, whole foods, but not worried about intermittent fasting while I am away.

    End of year wrap up: many thanks to @tammierlewis for this challenge, it has helped keep me accountable and on track. I've had a great year, and am now only a few lbs from my goal weight. In this time I have also reversed my insulin resistance, sluggish thyroid, stopped my "epic" snoring problem, have so much more energy and feel a million times better.

    Next year my goal will be to maintain this loss, to keep to my new healthy habits, and not put it all back on (that would be a very different 52 Pounds in 52 Weeks Challenge: "Regain," the sequel!!!). I've chosen "optimise" for my 2020 inspiration word, to continue to build on the changes I've already made, to eat more green leafy vegetables, to increase strength, fitness and flexibility, all in a sustainable way that fits in with my everyday life.

    I didn't hit my 52 pounds in 52 weeks goal so that is a bummer but I am choosing to be happy with the weight loss that I did have. I learned a lot and I spent 4 months off the rails with my eating. I am most happy that I managed to get back on track. This challenge really helped with that. I didn't want this challenge to be another thing that I started and didn't finish so knowing that I was committed to posting really helped me regain control. Here's to beginning a new year and a new challenge!

    Please count me in, I'd like to join. I've done MFP with success before and need to start up again. While my plan is to lose less than 52 pounds, I like the year long commitment so that I can focus on maintaining once I get to a realistic goal.

    Hi everyone so i was doing great with this app like 3 years ago. Then i fell off the deep end with fitness, and life lol. I have gone through divorce and had another kid drinking a ton and eating unhealthy packing on lbs since then. 4 kids have not been under 140 since my first. Im really hoping to embrace loving myself and body as a single mom thos year and work towards getting back on track. Love these challenges.

I started on the Jan 20/19 so still have 3 more weeks to reach my 52 weeks and hopefully another couple gone by then. Thank you to tammierlewis for creating the challenge and although I never had 52 pounds to loose (my goal is 40- 45) I still have a ways to go so will continue in the new group for 2020 and look forward to seeing everyone's success.
