@T1DCarnivoreRunner - Congrats on finishing your marathon and getting an AG win and loss 🥴 even if a terrible result. Take care of that ankle!! You might contact the RD and see if you can go pickup the award if it isn't too far away. Sometimes with small races they are willing to do that, they just don't want the added cost to have to mail something.0

I never got my new year's eve run done but I still got just under 40 miles for December and my goal was 30 so I'm happy with that! Great job everyone on running through the holidays!3

Yeah, I would ask. Maybe you can offer to pay for shipping?0 -

Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm not sure I care that much TBH. The website say they won't ship because the awards are "breakable" anyway and it is pretty far away. I guess I just missed out because I didn't check sooner. No worries.1 -
I finished the year with a 4 mile snowy, cold run. I thought it was supposed to be about 25F but it turned out to be 15F with a 5F windchill. With just a thin long sleeved top I was underdressed.
Still, it wouldn't have been too bad had I not stopped to help two drivers who had slid on the ice and got stuck in the snowbank. The first car was fairly easy to push out but the second driver was really stuck and it took quite a bit of digging to get to the point where we could push him out. He also had no clue about the proper technique to get out and insisted on spinning his wheels like crazy.
About that time a cop showed up to see if anyone was hurt (nope) and that caused a car behind him to slide into the snowbank. After the second car was free, I went to help the third driver but the cop told me he was stuck bad enough the he needed to call a tire truck. I'm not so sure that was the case but I welcomed the opportunity to avoid helping out. I love helping people out but by this time my hands were numb and I was shivering, dressed for a run as I was.
Fate rewarded me on the run home as I found a nearly full roll of black duct tape along the road! I use duct tape to pull Kody's fur off my truck upholstery so I can definitely use it.
I didn't feel warm until I was home. I wanted 6 miles but I was done. 4 miles and being helpful would have to do
I finished 2019 with 1140 miles, well short of my goal of 1400, but I'll take it.8 -
Morning all,
I did 2 runs this morning to get 6k. The first run was 4.8k easy run for my training plan. The second run was 1. 2k to get home because I underestimated how far I had gone with the extra side roads lol.
As far as planning races, I am going to do the Wellington half marathon in July. Other than that I just pick up races as they happen. There is a 10k run on Sunday I can do now as I managed to get the day off.
Not sure what I'm doing today but a visit to the shoe store is on the cards. I'm pretty sure my walking shoes are dead now. Pain in my legs when walking, though running is fine.

@7lenny7 That's awesome that you stopped to help free the stuck drivers. I hope they appreciated the fact that you weren't dressed for standing in one place, pushing or digging. Glad the third car didn't hit anyone. Also glad you made it home safe with a useful roll of duct tape.3
