I did my work out yesterday. On leg day I might have to add something else. I use the total gym and I love it but it doesn't always feel like I got my heart beat moving - I was up above 110bpm for most of the workout but... I don't know. Legs are definitely worked out5

My staples for green salad are mixed greens, cukes, peppers, grape tomatoes, radish, and if it's the actual meal I add diced chicken breast and maybe a boiled egg. Once in a while I'll have avocado, onion, sliced jalapeno. I love salad!!2 -
I just had a nice dinner. Half a sweet potato, a pile of garlicky sauteed kale, and baked fish. No added fat. I sure wanted butter on that potato but I resisted. As I've mentioned before, I am type 1 diabetic on insulin. I've read that insulin causes weight gain. My pcp disagrees, but my endocrinologist says it's true. I am determined to lose this weight, so no butter for this girl!6

NOT type 1, I meant type 2!!!!2

I've got pain in my knees which is because my cartilage is eroding. I'm on meds for anxiety and depression and high cholesterol. I have celiac disease and I'm lactose intolerant. I've done ww before and I know that eating less and drinking a lot of water helps me but for some reason its easier said than done. I also have a heel spore and a discal hernia which gets worse from the weight gain.
So feel what you are saying, I also have depression meds, heel spur and plantar facitis, plus spondylosis in back and need to loose these 20 kilos to improve my overall health, but as the foot causes me the most pain, walking is hard, have turned to bike riding and this has seemed to help. Though for January my aim is to improve my diet, then Feb tackle the exercises.....2 -

Start of 2020: 238.4
Goal for 2020: 180
Ultimate goal: 160
Jan 1: 238.4 going back to work tomorrow, will go to the gym afterward on my way home.
Jan 3: 239.6 margaritas last night, plus starting to work out again. Probably water. Either way, 2 workouts in, 28 more until I get new sleep pants (haven’t decided between wonder woman or deadpool yet. Will closer to earning them, probably around spring break). Our principal brought in a sheet cake for her birthday today, and I’ve been struggling to deal with one of our students (not in my class, but still) having been shot and killed at a party Wednesday morning. Been counseling students and trying to deal with it myself at the same time. Candlelight Vigil is going in literally right now and I am worried about getting a local news update on my phone about retaliation gunfire at the event (it’s in the neighborhood he was killed in, not our school’s neighborhood. I used to live a few blocks away and I would not get out of my car in that park after dark for anything, and several of my students were complaining that their parents will no longer let them go because of where it is being held), so that’s where my head is at today (almost had to eave the gym yesterday because the TVs were on local news and showing this story. Somehow powered through, though).
Jan 10: 238.6. 1 lbs down this week. Been to the gym 4 times since last weigh in. 6 total, 24 until new pajamas (still haven’t decided between Wonder Woman and Deadpool). Got out of school early today due to winter weather, which my district like never does. 16k steps on the field trip monday, 12k steps so far today (which is prolly high since i’ve been playing with a slinky all day, you know, for science). Memorial for our student tonight, don’t know how the storms will affect that. His funeral is tomorrow. My students are 14, they have no skills to help them through anything like this. To be honest, I can’t really say I’m qualified to help the, yet here We are...

I use broccoli, green beans, peppers, spinach, shredded carrots. cauliflour, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, a little shredded very sharp cheddar cheese and a low fat dressing. Sometimes I'll chop up a hot or smokey pepper. Hard boiled egg.0 -
Wow. I am having a glass of wine - haven't had a glass in months. Half way in I am buzzed. I had way to much room in my calorie count today so I opted for a small treat. Anyone else have a treat of the drink variety?3

Nope, no alcohol for this girl. I finally got the weight bench done, that was a tough job! The treadmill comes Monday, I can't wait! My knee feels a little better every day, and I actually felt strong enough to take Rocky for a short walk. I may not be losing any weight but my blood sugar levels are the best they've ever been. Drinking plenty of water and eating healthy.5

Jan 11: 236.0. Wow. 2.6 lbs woosh after being exactly 239 all week, and down over 35lbs from my “official” starting point. I may be slightly dehydrated, so I’m drinking extra water today and expect my weight to go up slightly. Feel good about my 3 gym trips this week for 80 minutes of workout time. Goal is to get at least 90 minutes next week, maybe even a 4th day, since I will be sitting in meetings instead of teaching my class on Thursday and Friday.

Good morning everyone!! Yes, a new week, let's do this! Move more! Eat less! We are having very unusual temps here in NY, in the 60's this weekend, so I will go for a walk and enjoy some fresh air. My fridge is stocked with super healthy foods. Hope everyone has a pleasant day!4 -
Starting weight: 296
1/11: 292.8
I wasn't thinking I was actually going to lose any because I'm severely hypothyroid, and my metabolism is in the dumps due to that. But it was still useful to "practice" eating well for when I could do weight loss (after the probable thyroid surgery) and to begin to exercise slowly to get over the exercise intolerance. Imagine my surprise!5 -
I found myself at home all day, no appointments, no place I had to be. Today is showing me how often I eat out of boredom.5

Re the salad, i would definitely vary the toppings in ways that had themes to them. A fajita salad! beef and onions and peppers and tortilla strips, tomatoes, and depending on your likes and calorie count, sour cream and guacamole.
Go Indian, and spice your chicken with curry powder, and add the onions, peppers, and the cucumbers, and add a yogurt dressing.
Thai-marinaded beef with bibb lettuce leaves, celery and carrot, peppers and onions? A ginger-lime dressing would rock that.

I just had an unconventional dinner. I made hummus from scratch and left out the oil and high-fat tahini so it's very low calorie. I always add a good sprinkle of cayenne pepper for more flavor, and lots of fresh garlic and lemon juice. I had hummus with cucumbers, snap peas, yellow bell peppers, and grape tomatoes, and it was delicious and filling. I'll be up for a few more hours so before bed I'll have a slice of whole grain toast with a small amount of peanut butter. Good wholesome food.6

I roasted bell peppers, carrots, brussel sprouts, asparagus onions and zucchini and made a baked pork tenderloin. I now have 3 meals made, to some not a big deal but to me I slayed (because I dont know how to cook I usually eat frozen) my goal is to eat healthier and figure out portion control.6

I do the same thing. The winter is even worse for me. At least when the weather is nice I can force myself outside.1 -
I had a small non-scale victory yesterday. Watching my favorite team losing 24-0 in the first quarter would have sent me to the snack food. But yesterday I peeled and cut a bag of carrots and chomped on them throughout the game. My team came back and won the game and I was able to feel great about that and not feel sick from eating junk!
My on scale victory:
Starting Weight: 262
Jan. 7: 259
Jan. 13: 255
Jan. 21:
Jan. 28:
This level of losing wont last - I have scaled back to 1200 - 1500 calories just to kind of reset things. Eventually I will live between 1500 - 1800.3 -

Hello all - I had a great weekend! I deep-cleaned by bedroom and closet, I was able to workout both days, and I had a game night with my whole family (even the moody teenagers participated ) These things are major to me, I've always been a clean freak and my hubby is not. I will organize and throw out 2 bags full of stuff only to find items 'rescued' from the trash and back in the house. This time I drove out to my cousin's apartments and used her dumpster! LOL I love my girls and hubby, but I feel like they sabotage my diets/healthy habits. Any time that I take for myself (on the treadmill, rower, or walking to the neighborhood park), they either poke their head in every 5 minutes: mom are you done? mom i'm hungry / tired / bored, or they tag along and are done after 10 minutes.
I've been staying on track and my workouts have gotten easier. I was sore day 2 and 3, but by the end of the week, I was keeping up great, so I increased the intensity today. I'll probably be sore tomorrow and Wed, but I hope to increase the intensity next week too.
The scale did not move at all, but I am OK with it. I feel fantastic!
