@dawnbgethealthy Seems MFP’s assessment is a bit off if you are tracking accurately. Perhaps just a demonstration that counting calories doesn’t work - it matters what those calories come from. This is not a criticism of you but of CICO and perhaps MFP’s misleading information.4

Do you take measurements? I’m terrible at that myself but if you are losing FAT and gaining MUSCLE your weight may not change but your body composition will. A pound is a pound but muscle takes up less space! - Jpv, 11/22/19

01/18 121.0 Got up late.
01/19. 122.0 Was in an all day sewing class yesterday. We had a buffet of deli meat and cheese. I keto-ed the best I could with the selection available and suspect this might be water. Didn’t drink enough water. My back was killing me when I got home but feels better now. No worries about the blip.
01/20 120.5 Meeting DD#2 and her husband for her late birthday lunch. Great Greek - YUM!
01/21 121.5 I haven’t been tracking food for a week, haven’t been to the gym since 1/13 and may have slacked off in water. I need to get my act together and not be complacent. I have failed too many times in the past! I have 1/2 of my Greek Salad left from yesterday.

1/19-164-We ate at El Pollo Locol and had the bowl with no rice, not bad.
1/20-165-I was under calories, but sat around too much. Today I’ll try to eat the same way but get some exercise.

@shunggie - I was the same, was quite controlled over Christmas and then soon after January hit I went beserk! I looked back at the previous 2 years and I did the same then; talk about history repeating itself!! Don't know why I do it, at least I'm pleased to be back in control now. Hope you find your way again really soon, I know I feel better for it and I am sure you will, you have done so well so far and life is full of these obstacles that need overcoming. Hugs to you x
@deepwoodslady - is it worth planning to keep some calories/carbs in hand to use on your late night snack?
@musicsax I always plan late night snacks because I stay up so late, but they are low carb or high fat to keep me satiated. Your idea is a very good one and I will have to figure out how to ultimately get to the point where I can stay below 20 or 30 grams of carbs but still have enough for nighttime as my body re-adjusts. In the meantime, I am saving some carbs for nighttime and its working well. My "episodes" are diminishing. Thanks for your idea.3 -

I slept 4 hours & 3 minutes but I needed so much more. I walked steady for 15 minutes at 2.5 mph burning 65 calories which didn’t help my situation
01/20 …..189.7 ….. First a report on my son who is an adult autistic beautiful boy. First official weekly weigh-in this morning showed a 5.8 pound loss for him Yesterday’s stats: 1838 Calories In / 2436 Calories Out. 76 Carbs. 12,232 Total Steps & 5.18 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 6 minutes and woke up very tired. The school is not open to walk on Sat/Sun and the weather hit 11 degrees below zero by dark. Too cold & icy to walk outside yesterday. I cleaned cabins for a couple of hours. Fitbit saw it as 27 minutes of activity so that’s what I record. I am learning so much from you all. Thanks to everyone for your comments & your sharing. 01/21 …..189.6 ….. A little up on calories but my carbs were within acceptable levels with my current plan of readjustment. A nice good long exercise walk yesterday at the school to help get the scale to move. Yesterday’s stats: 1808 Calories In / 2861 Calories Out. 48 Net Carbs. 21,306 Total Steps & 9.02 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 31 minutes falling asleep earlier last night. I woke up much better rested. I walked at the school at about 3.5 mph average for 116 minutes burning 711 Extra calories. I also cleaned 2 cabins with light to moderate effort along with other duties. I felt pretty good yesterday. My meals and days have been on point, but my night time snacking is putting me a bit higher than desired. I think I am still in fear of the sugar drops as this is when it always occurs – at night. I am making moderate choices and feeling good. I will continue to work toward my ultimate macro goal.
01/22 …..189.6 ….. A small glucose episode last night put me slightly over carb but I was still under calorie goal. I DO NOT WANT THE DOCTOR TO PUT ME BACK ON THE PILLS SHE TOOK ME OFF OF. I still take 2500 mg of Metformin for T2 Diabetes, but dropped 4 other pills after starting Keto originally. I can’t believe I let an extended holiday period of time take me this far back into bad health!!! I continue to slowly work on this. I know it can be done, I managed it when I first started my weight loss journey. I also realized last night that I have been doing a lot of walking during the week which is exactly what you do to help LOWER your blood sugars. So this may also be affecting the severe night lows (after the evening walks). As suggested by @musicsax I will probably try to reserve more carbs for nighttime, after the exercise day is over. I have been using up most of them before the walk because of having some weakness and dizzy spells during the walks if I haven’t eaten enough of them. Balancing it out is proving tough, but the formula is in there somewhere and I will find it. At some point, my body will re-adjust to it all and it won’t be as difficult – The incidences will greatly decrease. Every pound I can drop will also help as the overall glucose is (then) improved. It’s like a science equation really. Yesterday’s stats: 1545 Calories In / 2953 Calories Out. 62 Net Carbs. 20,652 Total Steps & 8.74 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 47 minutes and it felt good. I walked for 14 minutes at home at about 3.0 mph burning 72 cals. I walked at the school for 113 minutes at 4.0 mph burning 775 cals, and I danced for 18 minutes burning 144 cals. Sample song: “Pontoon” by Little Big Town. Total extra calorie burn 991. I have many projects that are behind at home. I haven’t decided yet whether to drop the school walk for the day, rest the body a little bit and get some work at home done. We’ll see how I feel later. The walking is very habitual and addictive. It’s hard to say “no” to.

1/21 161.7 0 miles Very frustrated with weight and food and all of it. The same thing happened in January last year. I just lost my way after doing well over the holiday. I've not been eating great though I'm still walking as much as possible. I'm still tracking but not being 100 honest with it. A lot going on in my life right now - most of it very good but it's an excuse somehow to behave badly. I've been spending too much money and spending too many calories all on junk. If I would just drop the extra water I've been carrying around for almost 2 weeks I'd feel better.
1/22 162.1 3.3 miles I can't seem to avoid sodium. Ate back all my exercise calories yesterday. I got in a little more than three miles. It's snowing/raining/sleeting today so I don't think I'll walk. I don't mind walking in the snow, but the sleet makes it too slick. I'm just going to stick to my plan and what happens happens with weight.. It will come down, I will continue to exercise.13 -

01/18: 130.0 - smack dab on my original goal weight this morning. I’ve decided to eat at or below maintenance for a couple weeks, continue to work on strength training and then possibly losing another 5 lbs. Had a fantastic first day back to the gym yesterday, an hour total including 20 minutes elliptical.
01/19: 130.0 - this maintenance thing is interesting. I feel like I've been eating so much more and yet, the scale stays the same, it's hard to wrap my head around. Thinking of still eating below maintenance every few days until I trust this weight.
01/20: 130.0 - still here. Ate below calories yesterday but did not work out at all, just did my elbow physical therapy. Heading to the gym this morning, can not wait.
01/21: 130.8 - ate well all weekend, looking forward to being able to exercise more often. I did do my elbow P/T at least once every day. I know it takes time but, ugh, I’m impatient.
01/22: 129.8 - I swam laps yesterday for about half an hour (with breaks) and wow, what a great workout. Bonus, my elbow was able to take it. Went to the gym this morning and had a fantastic legs/abs workout with 30 minutes elliptical. I would do that every day if I could but that's how I get injured. Female, 5’, 66 years. SW – 165.2, GW – 163 something, UGW – 140. (This really should be 125 or 130 but that seems like such a long ways to go and 140 would be a huge improvement.) The 12 hr. IF along with everything else (portion control, watching calories in foods, exercise) seems to be working well for me. So this round I hope to be more consistent with logging food and exercise and see how far I can get.

01/21 – 165 – Busy last 2 days so didn’t get on here but did weigh. Good workout at the gym yesterday but didn’t manage IF. Always have to run off to practice on Mondays which typically goes till 10 or so, then when I get home, I just want to unwind and eat something. Last night it was 1/3 – ½ cup of homemade granola (nutritious but not low cal.) I need a plan to deal with this … it’s the same story every week so now it’s a habit.

1/18 - 188.4! So happy to be at the same weight as yesterday, I had a fairly indulgent dinner and was expecting to see an increase today. Most days, I would use that as an excuse to continue being indulgent, but today, I'm going to take it as just a spot of good luck but get back to sticking to my diet and aiming for my goals! Normally don't like working on the weekend, but I have some big deadlines so I'm going to try and get some work done today - hoping for good productivity.
1/19 - 188.8... not psyched about the up but we ended up going out for dinner so hopefully this is mostly salt weight. Got some work done, not as much as I'd like but at least I'm putting in an effort. Hoping that tomorrow is a better day for both my diet and my productivity. Today hasn't been fantastic for either
1/20 - 189.4... creeping back up. Seems like I just oscillate back and forth between 191&188, I really want to break through that wall.
1/21 - 190.4... Continues to creep. Ate well today and got a lot of work done so hopefully I see some progress tomorrow.
1/22 - 190.2.. a little progress, but still I would like to be lower. Trying on wedding dresses tomorrow, was hoping to be like 10 lbs lighter by now but oh well, I'm still proud of my overall progress. Sticking to my diet and working hard today, hoping to keep making progress.

(It’s wayyyyy too cold to go outside in Ohio unless you’re crazy.) I rode my recumbent bike. I logged everything that I put into my mouth. I’m of those who gets SAD (seasonal affect disorder) in the winter and it’s been pretty bad this past weekend. ☹
01/22 – 207.1 (-0.4), Tuesday info: 5748 steps, 6 of 12, 5hr35m (71); Back to work. 10 hour day. (Changed my work schedule to 3-10's and 2-5's back in early December.)) Lots of sitting. Meant to get up and walk when Fitbit alerted me but that didn’t always happen (stuck on the phone or right in the middle of something). I rode my recumbent bike and logged all my food for 2nd day. I did NOT get to bed at a decent time though. I’m still a work in progress but seeing positive signs of holding myself accountable again.

01/20 190.0 43% BF Well wrong direction but it's that TOTM so hopefully will be seeing a whoosh here in the next couple of days. This is week 2 back at the gym after a long december off and I need to remember that it usually takes my body 3 weeks to acclimate to that.
01/21 189.8 42.7% BF 1654 calories total yesterday. At least the scale was under 190. Drinking a lot of water and tea today, staying below 1500 cals with plenty of vegetables.
01/22 189.6 42.4 % BF 1678 calories total. went a bit above my plan bc I decided to have some wine and chocolate after dinner. Woke up this morning with a fever and chills so I skipped the gym and taking it easy all day. Hopefully tomorrow will turn the corner with that! I wanted chicken noodle, but didn't have the correct supplies so made vegetable beef soup instead.
