I realised that I needed new work clothes (which is a NSV in itself). I walked into a normal shop, picked out two dresses in a (UK) size 12 and took them to the changing room. They both fit with no issues at all (even the fairly tailored one). It's been years since I've had such a painless shopping trip without the realisation that things look far better on a hanger than on my body!
I'm on light duty at work, which now means I sit in an office chair in a control/security monitoring room for 12 hours, rather than walking 75% of my day. I'm used to climbing 35+ flights of stairs a day on my shift, now I just sit.
I can't stand it. I feel so lazy. And I had to cut my calories to inactive job type rather than active. I don't like that lol. I like to eat.
So, while I'm keeping my calories where they are for the time being, I have a timer set on my fitbit for 20 minutes.
Every time it goes off, I get up, step out of view of the camera, and do 25 jumping jacks, 5 body weight squats, and run in place for a minute. Time permitting, of course. It won't always be exactly every 20 minutes because of phone calls, etc.
3 times per hour times 12 hours. I'm hoping it helps offset some of this activity change.
Excuse the funny angle and messy room, this is not a Valentine's outfit...
I had a brunch meeting with a a board member who loves to clean out her closet, and she gave me bag of clothing, including a dress in size 10 (and these stunning heels).
I'm an L top, 14 pants, and here it is!! 5 dress sizes and 2 shoe sizes down.
And to think, I could zip it up after some Valentine's Day Nutella crepes. 😂
Thanks, @TheMrWobbly!! Great job on portion control. It’s great when your stomach shrinks and your hunger cues start to align!! I miss Chinese food I can’t eat it because of a garlic allergy (and it’s too hard to determine whether a recipe has garlic or not).
This thread Still my fave thread on MFP. Always so inspiring.
One more NSV for me today: my husband told me my cooking just keeps getting better and better. I think I’m spoiling him and setting a precedent, but I like the stuff I make too, so I’ll keep experimenting in the kitchen. This morning I whipped up some keto buckeyes for him for Valentine’s Day. He was in heaven
I had joined in 2013 and been in and out of MFP never really sticking to logging in everyday...and therefore restarted over and over again...until this year. I have seen those people who joined at the same time as I did make their success stories and I found the one thing in common with all their success stories was that they logged in consistently in this community, whether they logged their food or not, they were committed to logging in each and every day and they have achieved their goals. I keep kicking myself because I could have been one of these success stories...but my newest NSV is I finall stuck to it and I am now 51 days and 7kilos lighter

In another thread I kept reading how people would ask folks who had lost a lot of weight what their secret was. Many said that they credited MFP. Several of those people then went on to say that the person seeking advice replied with “MFP doesn’t work”. But in the end, MFP is just a tool! It works if you work it!
I’ve graduated to barbell squats. I was using the smith machine because even just the barbell
without weights on it was too heavy for me to lift. But I tentatively tried using the barbell a couple days ago and was able to do it. Can’t wait to do it again tomorrow.
Today a new friend (month long) I made at bible study got together for coffee to catch up on our homework and she exclaimed 3 to 4 times looking me up and down saying, "You're so little!" I haven't been called that since 2007. She guessed my jeans were a size zero but they were a size 2.
I’m embarrassed to admit I fell off the wagon. Gained 20kg back, almost all the lost weight.
But I drew a line in the sand a couple of weeks ago. I’m eating healthier, not perfect but much healthier. I’ve turned away from sweets in the kitchen.
Today I went for a run, W1D1 of C25K. I’m starting over and it was hard, as I expected. My real NSV is that when I got tired, I thought “bloody hell this is going to be tough.” Not once did I even consider not making it through or question whether I’d be able to finish. A surprising reminder from the sheer determination and mindset I grew on my last weight loss journey.
The quote I keep coming back to:

Ran my first continuous 10 mile run yesterday afternoon. Took me 78 minutes. Looks like my goal of a half marathon in 90 minutes is doable! https://www.strava.com/activities/3099061033
My boss offered me cheesecake yesterday.
And by I mean offered, I mean ceremoniously placed a plate with a large slice on it right in front of me with a huge smile. He's like the nicest man on earth, so of course I accepted to not hurt his feelings.
I took a couple bites out of it, decided it wasn't worth it, and put it in a tupperware container to take home to my husband.
Cheesecake is my kryptonite so I was feeling pretty proud of myself. Especially being pregnant, my willpower sometimes lacks lol

Holy cow, outstanding job! It takes me the same amount of time just to run 6 miles!

That quote has gotten me through so much in life ♥
Well done!
Parkrun no 113 . . . in the middle of Storm Dennis.
Had a better time than last week (when I was wading through mud) but not as good as the week before (which was an almost flat, tarmac course - I'm always faster on a non-grass surface). But, bearing in mind the ~40mph winds and the mud, I was pleased with my time. Had some nasty little hills in it as well so overall, I was happy. And we managed to beat the rain. Weren't fast enough for the cake that someone brought for their 250th run, happily!

Thanks. I used to do a lot of walking but decided to improve my pace so just over a year ago did couch to 5k. I was intending to do a half-marathon middle of last year but I got plagued by non-related injuries (including breaking both clavicles in separate incidents) so to make up for it, I'm really starting to pile it on this year.

I don't think I've ever seen my abs, would be nice to see them for the first time

We had the same chinese set menu we used to order and haven't had since last v-day. I could barely eat half! Left overs for lunch tomorrow!
