52 yrs old mom of 16 yr old son. First time on MFP. Want to get fit for my health and to ski with my son. Entered my first breakfast and only have 550 calories left for the day. Can already see this is going to be enlightening and challenging 😆1

Hello!!1
-
Morning Middle-agers Friday is here 🥳
Those of you still on Thursday, enjoy ..3 -
Happy baby Friday!!!
So I went to my original physio guy to see about my winging scapula. I was informed at the just over 4 months from surgery I shouldn't be at the stage I'm concerned and was told I'm doing *kitten* amazing. Well that made my day since I've been a bit bummed it's not stronger. We decided the trick to a quick recovery is staying fit before. Stopping and moping isn't gonna get you anywhere. Yay5 -

Welcome. I'm 51 with 16 and 14 year old sons that I enjoy skiing with. Last time on the slopes, I was winded barely halfway down and getting up from a fall is getting much harder. This is one of the reasons I'm back on MFP.1 -

Happy Friday!!!
My weight is down, I can see some abs and finally muscles on my bad side arm. I haven't been really watching what I eat but I've been exercising every day. This fitness lifestyle does work!!! Oh and I haven't been watching what I eat really but I've cut out booze and I'm eating smaller portions. I'm excited for our cruise in one week!!!4 -
So day didnt go exactly as planned:-
Got up ready for grandson then son phoned to say he wouldn't be coming!
To windy to clear all the leaves up.
No weight loss
Knees and back still to tender to do a good solid workout!
However:-
Went back to bed and had 7 hours sleep in total instead if 5 1/2 hours✔
Took the dogs for a very windy walk✔
Took son shopping and I didnt buy anything and refused the cake he offered ✔
Cooked a yummy pasta dish using scraps in the fridge and low calorie too✔
Got in an evening walk as rain held off✔
Measured belly fat using a weight watchers measure thingy and belly fat gone from 46 mm to 33mm and hip fat from 28mm to 18mm✔✔
So overall a good day I used to get down if I hadnt lost weight or not exercised but now realised it's ok, it's a life change so I can be healthy and fit as I grow older, so I listen to my body needs and adapt to that, if I want a piece of chocolate then it's ok but I just tweak another meal to balance it out, if I cant exercise then I motivate my brain instead till I can exercise more!
Have a good weekend everyone!5 -

Good Morning Middle-Agers! Up and at-'em!4

Good morning friends. I have been a slacker--had a rough couple of weeks personally, and ate too much and was lazy too much, but things are back to normal now. Hope everyone has a great week!2

Good morning middles agers. I have 4 more days of hard work then I'm on vacation!!! Why do I only give myself a short time to get fit and diet before an event or vacation? Today I'm going to do an easier workout and perhaps go for a walk outside since it's sunny and spring-like and going to be +7C today!!!! Have a great one1

I'm leaving for a holiday on Thursday as well. I think it's 25 hours travelling. But if it should be worth it.1 -

Yikes that's a long travel time. We have a 3 hour flight haha0 -
I have two flights of around 5 hours, with a 2 hour change; and then a 10 hour coach trip.1
-
Ahhh I guess I shouldn't gripe that we'll have a 30 minute cab ride after we arrive1

Good morning Middle-agers, have a smashing week.7

Hello, I'm Paul & I'm 51.
Being a wee, stocky laddie from my teens I neglected myself during my twenties and ended up as obese in my 40s & now 50s. I am an ex-smoker (quit almost 10 years ago) and don't really drink anymore but I'm not teetotal, just cannot be bothered going out and it took me years to realise I don't actually like drinking that much.
I need to lose a considerable amount of weight to be classed as having a healthy BMI, but my first goal is to drop from obese to just overweight.
I'm looking for motivation and support for my childhood sweetie addiction that I am constantly battling as well as my psychological need to continually eat until I feel like I will burst.
Cheers.

PSA.....be careful when using bacon grease to cook mushrooms. I have a nice burn on my right ring finger from some splatter. It doesn't pay to be clumsy 😂🤣
Happy pancake Tuesday, Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras, whatever you want to call it in making pancakes for dinner yay can't wait1
