Happy New Year!
Last year my target was to lose 9 kg (to have 60 kg) and at the doctor's order, I had to stop exercising and do some physiotherapy and massages that didn't help at all with my back pains. Fortunately, over the last 3 months I managed to maintain my weight and I have 59.1 kg now (I oscillate between 57.5 and 59 - so I lost 10 kg and I'm very happy about it!
The gastritis is a hassle because I'm allowed to eat only a few things of what I uses to. I miss my nuts and seeds, my salads, my fruits. And a glass of wine at the end of a hard day. On January 3rd I started exercising again. It's sad too see how fast I got out of shape and how little resistance I have left. 20 minutes in and I was tired and my muscles hurt already. After each session everything hurts sooo bad. I was happy to notice that I felt like redoing and old habit, so it wasn't a horrible experience like the first time I started this active life. BUT last year I made the impossible in 4 months and 100 exercising sessions. Now I'm lighter and I already know that I can do it.
Are you ready?! Let's do this!!!

Hi, guys! I'm back. 2019 was terrible for me, especially from a physiological point of view (deaths in family, my husband sick for more than 2 years now, trouble at work - and then I got depressive).
I've always thought that it's pointless to start a diet/a life style change/working out if you are not mentally ready. You must feel that you want it, you can do it, you must feel determined and put your will to work. If you don't have the right mindset when you start, it will most probably lead to failure pretty soon.
This year I've had a good start on January 13th. I felt the necessary determination. Meanwhile I found out that I have a herniated disc, so that's why I had the lower back pain on and off for such a long time.
This time I must lose 7-8 kg and I also hope to get fit. Later in the summer, I want to try the Strong curves program (but I need to read the book first). I continue to exercise at home but meanwhile I bought a kettle bell and a Concept 2 rower (you know how much I hate cardio but it's a great full body option for which I don't have to leave my apartment.).
I still use apps and workouts from YouTube.
Here's my playlist with over 70 videos:

I'm active on my page (daily), I post meal photos, updates (whether I feel down or great), I log everything, I encourage and keep accountable my friends to be active. If you are the same kind of person, please add me and let's support each other.
Here's a photo with the starting point for this year (I need to lose the belly, saddlebags and get fit).

Starting weight on January 13th was 65.2kg. I want to get to 57-58kg (lost the fat). The next goal will be to add some lean muscle (and then I won't care about what the scale shows).2

TinaZ great inspiring story and journey. I'm in a similar space. Lost quite a bit in 2016, gained some back. Always train 4-5/7 but my eating is ad hoc, so yes ready to reign it all in. good on you for sharing the ups and downs of life and your progress. Thats what it is; progress. Can I join you on your trip down? I'm off to do that abs workout now. Thanks for the link. will send a friend request.0

Thank you! I think I'm keeping myself accountable by writing here. It certainly helps to see my progress and that as losing weight, is not linear. It's important to keep going.2 -

@TinaZ2018 Thank you for making such a detailed post. You were not medically overweight (or only by one or two pounds maybe) when you started, so you could be forgiven for thinking your lifestyle was OK, but you chose to tackle it before it became a serious issue. And the comments you made about being sedentary are so important. I reads those and think, 'Ouch. That's how I've become.'
The other thing I love about your story is the emphasis you put on exercise as part of the weight loss plan. I know people say its just calories in and out but I do notice, even if I eat the calories back, it's on the days I've exercised that the weight starts to drop.
What did you do as your workout regime at the start?0 -

Hi
You're welcome! I was just indulging myself with a comfortable lifestyle. I had a BMI of 24.2 at my fattest, so I was still under the normal weight range. It was more of an aesthetic issue for me (at the time I wasn't thinking of health issues related to being overweight).
First of all, I've made a schedule on the first day of each month and I stuck to it. It was a mix of challenges for beginners (like the photos you find online to gradually increase the reps), combined with several apps that I still use (Female fitness women workout, Abs workout, Buttocks workout etc) and YouTube workouts (see below the link... there are over 100 workouts of various difficulty).
At first I did workouts amounting to 20 minutes and I increased that gradually, as I've gained strength and resistance. I actually have everything save
Here's an example of schedule:

Hi, everyone!
I really need to start listening to my own advices more often! 😅 Today morning I had to get on the scale. The damn scale didn't move at all. After I've calmed down, I remembered that I must take my 10 weeks progress measurements. Once again, I was surprised to see that I've lost little weight in the last 10 days but many centimeters! (in the past I focused only on losing fat). Further more, my overall 2020 10 weeks progress measurements are much better than my first 4 months progress of 2018!
So I've trained well, gained muscle mass, lost fat and ate well. I feel, so proud of myself right now! ❤️
You can see below my measurements (I'm 168 cm and I lead a sedentary life). I'll post some new pix also.
