Barbie: I am so sorry that the corona virus has made it necessary to close recreational facilities until further notice. As far as I know, the gym where I take yoga is still open. I’ll find out for sure tomorrow. :ohwell:
This is the clubhouse in my neighborhood just for residents. I am not so disturbed about missing the class as I am by the fact that I routinely stop there during my long walks with Sasha so I can use the restroom. I am not the only one in my neighborhood that does that. I am going to have to plan my walks differently. The clubhouse is used routinely by groups for ping pong, card games, crafts, open mike night, discussion groups. A lot of people are going to be disappointed and sad about not being able to get together with their friends.
My walking friend has gone to California for a week to visit her sister so the dogs and I are on our own. I'll listen to an audio book but the dogs will miss her cheery voice and companionship.

I signed up for a docu-series "Fasting for Freedom" - one of the presenters today, Deborahlise Mota, is talking about our gut micro-biome and gives more in-depth info on how certain microbes can help determine if we gain or lose weight. She talks about pre-biotics, resistant starches, seasonal eating, and how IF can help us build good bacteria in the gut.
I love knowing more about the science of how our bodies work.
If you are interested in this info, here's a link to today's talk. Hope you can access it: https://fastwithfacts.kartra.com/page/DeborahliseMota
Looks like it's available today and tomorrow only.

M sounds like you are taking it easy until this passes. I hope this passes soon.
The times I become more accident prone is when I am under stress. I pull back when this happens to me and try to stay more mindful and not hurry. If I feel myself getting sick I also pull back and try to pace myself.

Well Dad went to his towns grocery store 🏬 (They get their deliveries 🚚 from my city) the shelves were empty all over HEB he said. He wanted a few items there was nothing so he y my uncle (they go together to help shop)
Called my Aunt bought different items whatever they could find. Surrounding areas are hitting there stores 🏬 scared to come here. Such a tiny town so they don’t have lots in some back room at all. Maybe 6 pallets to put on an empty shelf from weeks ago only. Too small of a town to have tons of stuff they usually struggle to sell the little they got. Here been full of people many stocking up others still vacationing or going about their lives. He’s considering getting groceries here in my city when celebrating JRs birthday 🎁. They also get their gasoline ⛽️ from our town.
Leftovers again today trying to clean the fridge out before making more food. Chicken 🐓 or pasta 🍝 not sure 🤔 can go any direction for myself y hubby. His Doctor went from no meat to eat egg 🥚 y chicken 🐓 such confusing people.
Sore calf’s so light exercise. I had trouble meeting my calorie goal yesterday was way under. Got to stop worrying.Hearing Dad struggling to get food made me worry about getting anything JR needs. Hubby assured me he’ll eat we got food he’ll get over being picky if he’s hungry. Then hubby brought home more bread y Cheetos for JR. My stomach condition can’t handle stress so going to try to unwind today best I can. Eat higher calorie items to reach my goal. I need to stay in my 1100-1300 calorie deficit.Only got down 875cal yesterday I can’t have a 2nd day like that I dehydrate too easy y have trouble absorbing water y vitamins from my foods.

Barbara and Karen - These were new songs for the VE day celebration. Normally we sing old pop songs or songs from the musicals, British and American, and French, I guess, as Les Mis features often. Some are quite difficult with lots of words! DH finds them hard as he is not a musical fan and doesn't know the tunes. I was brought up on the old ones, but the newer ones can pose a problem. I always think of you folks across the pond when I'm singing stuff from Oklahoma, or 7 Brides, High Society etc. I'm getting quite fond of That Was a Real Nice Clambake from Oklahoma.
We are not a choir, Karen, so don't have parts, but one or two of the more experienced women can manage a harmony, for The Rose, for example. We are nearly all in our 70s or 80s, so our high notes are a bit squeaky, but we give it our all! Jason encourages us to sing out! It really is just "Singing for Pleasure". Usually three or four men turn up. I'm amazed that DH is enjoying it so much, but he really is. Jason, the teacher, is truly outstanding. His voice is wonderful and his playing first class and he has a hugely funny and encouraging attitude.
How lucky are we to stumble on this!

Dr Katie: I am so sorry for all the damage and heartbreak for people in Nashville. My heart goes out to them.
Barbie: I called the athletic club this morning and they are open. Yoga is set for 10 am. I plan to be there. :Keeping my fingers crossed.
Karen: Indeed, we have a notable anniversary coming up in March. It is the BIG 50. We’re planning to save our celebration for the summer and have our kids & grandchildren join us then for a combination Anniversary/birthday celebration. We were married in a State Park at the Oregon coast and want to go there with the family. The weather is more likely to be good in the summer than in March. DS, DD, and I were all born in July. DDIL and my daughter’s older boy were born in August. The two youngest grandsons were born in October and January.
Machka: I’m happy that your dizziness is settling. Ginger tea is brilliant. It was one of the earliest seasick remedies and still works better than many over the counter & prescription pills.
I watched election results yesterday evening and before the night was over my eye glasses came apart. There is an optical office here in town and I’m hoping they will be able to fix them. My eye doctor is located in Portland and that is where I bought these glasses. We’d prefer not to drive into Portland to get this fixed. I hope it won’t turn out to be necessary.

Thank you, Machka. I need this prayer today. And, backatcha.
Sorry for the friends and family impacted by the Tennessee tornados. Meanwhile, we are having signs of spring here. Temps will hit the 50's and 60's all week. Time to smile with my lips, eyes and heart, and get a positive start to this glorious day.
Stay well, friends. We can do this.

Good morning, I just fed my Mockingbirds and Red-Bellied Woodpecker before doing two loads of laundry. I do more daily laundry now than when I had two babies in diapers. Goes with the territory tho'. It's funny, when I turn on the light in the room with my computer, the birds know I'm about to feed them. I have a feeding tray attached to my window sill on the outside so I open the window and slide up the screen. They recognize the noise and come and perch in the bush honeysuckle waiting. I make my own suet and that is what they want first. So I stand at the open window (second floor) roll up a marble size bit of suet and toss it out the window. The Mockingbird pair dive bomb it and fight over it until I toss out the second one. They are a mated pair of birds. The woodpecker sounds off and comes down for the next one. After that, it's first come, first served with all the other birds. Right now, the tray feeder has a Chipping Sparrow and a Mourning Dove, with a Blue Jay waiting to be next. I love my birds. (Guess you can tell and I hope I don't bore you.) Pat, on a lovely spring day in Georgia.6

Re glasses: I went to the local eye doctor and they can't help with my glasses. I'll have to take them back in to where I bought them. I do have a back-up pair that I'd forgotten about so I am a legal driver. I'm planning to go about my business today and see how things go. My drivers license says I need glasses, so I'll wear these. Maybe I'll have the broken pair replaced and maybe not.

Pat - we love our birds. We had so many when we lived in the countryside and weren't expecting to have many in our garden when we moved to Hove, but we are kept amused every breakfast time by their antics. We have blue tits, great tits, goldfinches, wrens, starlings, magpies, rooks, blackbirds, robins, seagulls, loads of pigeons both wood and normal, turtle doves, and millions of sparrows. I'm sure I've forgotten some! We know a lot of them individually as we do the grey squirrels and the occasional fox. We sit facing the french windows and enjoy the show. The sparrows make a great noise right next to our kitchen window.

Machka: great info on Corona. I have a similar blurb on my profile, so I only accept FR from people if the include some kind of message. I occasionally accept requests from males who are in some of the Challenges I belong to. If there's anything untoward I delete immediately. I also purge about twice a year.

Hello everyone.
I have been scanning - not enough time to reply. But will soon.
Just a quick laugh for everyone. My favorite Easter candy is malted eggs. I have been trying to justify why I should partake and remembered malt is a very nutritious product. It has a ton of benefits from supporting gut health and being a sugar alternative. It is also known to boost moods.
https://www.babyboomers.com/article/malt-makes-a-comeback-packing-powerful-nutritional-benefits/5d6ed21ae4b085365c210903
I do not think the article supports me wanting to overindulge in my favorite Easter candy though.
Hugs to all.4 -
SuziQ ~ I like malted eggs too! When I was little I loved the candy coated nuts that came in the Whitman's candy box.

Malted eggs are my favorite remember looking forward to a box of Malta when Dad came home from work during Easter.
Gave up watching our towns announcement the camera guy couldn’t get it to work so no sound then no sound again then no picture etc. So guess will read anything important in the news tomorrow.
Ate a higher calorie meal
Cheese nachos (air fryer)
Homemade Guacamole Salad 🥗
Apple juice y crystal light tea ☕️
Bushes Baked Beans 150cal per serving.
Dinner the chicken 🐓 I decided to cook not sure with what got Parmesan seasoning 5-10calories only to add to it’s skinless baked goodness. Not sure what veggies or extras yet. Could even add Ghughes 10calories BBQ sauce or 5cal fajita seasoning or leave it plain. Still deciding

@pat30725 -In our yard we have 2 pairs of cardinals and blue jays. They come to their nests every year to lay their eggs. We have 2 bird feeders that we fill up for them during the year. One of the feeders is on our fence by the kitchen bay window. Our cat will sit every morning to watch the birds eat and hop around.5

Lanette ... I enjoyed the link to gut biomes and fasting. Thank you.
I just broke a 44 hour extended fast with Miso Soup (thought of Rebecca while making it). I have never made miso soup before ... could not have even told you where the tofu was in the grocery store. And nori? What the heck! Anyways, I am now fully educated and can report that a ladle full of soup has filled my stomach. May even need a nap.
It is snowing here today. So ready for spring and envious of your bird feeding stories. Birds are far and few between at the moment.

Heather: We also enjoy our bird population. Our Annas Hummingbirds live here year around. We also have geese, ducks, herons & osprey on a seasonal basis. They add to our pleasure. Postponing your cruise is a good idea with all the international health worries. Air travel seems very dicey to me. I’m not fond of recirculated air. :noway: Your cruise ship would likely have excellent air quality in cabins and suites, but that doesn’t mean that surfaces on walls and banisters or dining areas would be germ free. :noway:
I went to yoga this morning and spent some time on a recumbent bike before going downstairs to yoga. I felt happier and more energetic after my exercises.

Awesome! Women I can relate to! I'm over 50 and needing to be healthier!
Goals this month:
Working out 5 days a week 30 min a day. Whether it be walking or yoga or tai chi.
Intermittent fasting: 16/8. Eating only between the hours of 12-8pm.
Getting in more veggies and fruit and refined carbs and meat consumption.
Getting 8 hours of sleep.
Logging in every bite, sip and swallow.
trying this for a month. Let's see what happens.

Lanette ... My produce box just arrived. The company is now letting me pick my own produce. Pick 3 of the following vegetables, 4 of the following fruits, etc. I really like the way this is working because I can choose more variety. This photo is a little hard to see (there's rainbow carrots in the back by the leeks). And the pink stemmed leafy green is peppermint chard. Never had that before so now to do some recipe hunting! Thought you might enjoy it!

Enjoyed the dancing. Had to walk there in the rain, but it had stopped when we came out. I made sure to wash my hands in the toilets immediately we finished, before I picked up my water bottle. I made DH do the same.
We did "Bust out, Swing out, Donut, Swing Walk" DH managed well.
