Terrible news about Tennessee. Tornados are part of our life in this part of the country. Kylia is right-the Dayton tornados were very costly last year, but luckily not nearly the amount of deaths as Tennessee. Rita-prayers for the young man and other first responders-that is extremely traumatic work. Glad you were able to enjoy your birthday.
Work not so hateful today-got lots of little things done-get to me in an out of town meeting for most of tomorrow through early afternoon.
Started new work out with trainer tonight. She is incorporating new things to continue work on balance, core strength and arms. I like her approach and can see how it all builds together.
Done for the day--off to bed.

My son lives in Nashville ... he was slightly southwest of the tornado. High winds caused significant damage to the apartment complex next to him. His apartment complex was fine. So sad what has happened. Restaurants and places I have visited have been devastated. The hail damage alone has been heartbreaking.

Katla, "Fit and Fall Proof" is an exercise program that was designed in Idaho. There are several videos on YouTube that show the exercises that are part of the program. Just put "Fit and Fall Proof" into the search box. I have gone three times and have enjoyed the classes but today just before the end of class we were told that the clubhouse in our community would be closed for an unknown amount of time to sanitize the building. Our neighborhood is 55+ and we have a lot of people who fit into the "high risk" category---over 65 and compromised immune system. There will be no more classes until further notice. I liked the group atmosphere and I wonder if I'll be able to discipline myself to do a similar program on my own.

Attended my first workshop of one of my current courses. I will have to attend one 2-hour workshop in person each week for about the next 10 weeks.
There were about 40-ish students ... mostly Chinese, some from India, and me.
It was actually somewhat interesting and sparked a bit of interest in going on to a research PhD when I'm finished this course. But I can't get too interested in that!! PhD's cost a lot of money!! Nevertheless, I think I'll have a small research project next semester.
I walked part of the way to the university and all the way to work after for a grand total of 5.9 km and I will have another km or so of walking to another meeting this afternoon.
And of course, I'm climbing stairs.

I’m a horrible MFP “Friend.” I never even remember to check my newsfeed, much less leave supportive comments. I visit my food diary and this thread and that is it.
I went to Sam’s Club today to get my father some more Ensure. That man drinks that stuff like some men drink beer! They were all sold out of Member’s Mark and Northern toilet paper and only had 4 Charmin left. I bought one of those and helped another woman get one in her cart leaving only two. I didn’t look for hand sanitizer. We will just use alcohol.
Have I told y’all I am taking an online class on social justice? I don’t know what possessed me! I have to write a research paper! I’m doing my research paper on how your everyday buying decisions impact justice or injustice in the world. It’s very interesting but oh so time consuming. On top of this I am conducting a workshop this weekend on best teaching strategies.

Rita Hope your DD can encourage her boyfriend to take advantage of any help his department offers in “de-briefing” after the tragedy and finding so many dead. Such help is crucial to his self-care to enable him to continue to be a functional first responder.

Barbie: I am so sorry that the corona virus has made it necessary to close recreational facilities until further notice. As far as I know, the gym where I take yoga is still open. I’ll find out for sure tomorrow. :ohwell:
I did some grocery shopping today and there was no fuss at the store. People seem to be going about their regular lives thus far.
Just this minute my eye glass frame broke. I am not sure whether I can get it fixed. I have an old pair, but the prescription isn’t quite right and I’m better off without them. I'll be calling my eye doctor's office tomorrow to see if I can get them fixed.

We got the bat version quite early on ... wet markets, bats and pangolins have all been blamed.

It means that in coming years more coronaviruses could make the leap from animals to humans and more viruses could sweep round the world. Possibly ... we just don't know.
All the more reason to practice good hygiene, to eat a healthy diet and to stay fit.
Also to have our affairs in order ... and a few extra things in stock just in case.

Last night I started feeling a bit dizzy and was quite dizzy all day today. It took me a while, but I think I've guessed why.

A few years ago, and for a couple years, before every period I was very dizzy for a day or two. Fortunately that went away!
However, in the last couple years I've been dizzy once in a while again, and I suspect that's what it is. Although I'm going to be 53 in a few days, my body still thinks it's in its 30s.
Today has been a particularly dizzy day and I struggled through my class, all that walking, work and an afternoon meeting. When I got home, I slept for an hour, but even so, I'm still feeling a bit dizzy this evening.
Then, just to add to the fun ... as I was coming out of the toilet at work, a work colleague came bursting through the door and slammed the door into my left elbow.
I had tripped and banged my right elbow about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and it's only just got to the point where I can lean on it.
Now my left elbow has quite a scrape and great blue bruise and I can't fully bend or straighten the arm.
I'm glad to be at home in my pjs watching Agatha Christie's Miss Marple.

Machka- Do we need to wrap you in bubble wrap? Ice helps the bruising. Glad you are home safely and comfortable.
Thankful today for my family, my friends, my home, and my health. I am thankful for the ability to make changes to better my relationships with all of those!
