Poor parents are having schools closed in Washington now their jobs (minimum wage or less $3.25-$7.25 an hour) are saying come or your fired ,but a babysitter is more than their paycheck ($10 an hour) it’s illegal to leave them home alone even with an older sibling unless their above the age of 15 or 16yrs old an adult . Single Parents it’s even harder hands are tied what do you do situations if theirs no one who can help.
Hopefully this nonsense will end soon for the whole world 🌎 🌍 .
Amber - Where did you get the information that covid -19 is in every state in the US? I’m not seeing that statistic and would like to read the reports.

SuziQ - hearing about that conversion at work brings back memories, lol. When you do retire, I wonder if you'll miss that? Just the thrill of getting it all working, like birthing a baby.

Not sure about birthing babies (I am childless) but definitely get the comparison. I will not know until I get there. It's funny how our waking thoughts/dreams can be very different than our realities. I am hoping health continues to hold and I will be able to fulfill my dreams of traveling the country and being thrilled by standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon, feeling the geyser spray at Yellowstone, watching the stars rise over Saguaro National Park, etc..3 -
Went out to the supermarket. It's business as usual. The only thing that was out of stock was the generic paracetamol. Plenty of everything else. People sitting outside cafes chatting over a cup of coffee in the sunshine.
Also called in at the little South Sudanese shop. They are Coptic Christians. Their shop is a cornucopia of delights. I bought tahini and a jar of roasted eggplant for making babaganoush. Plus some darling little pale green zucchini. And some frozen artichoke hearts. I use those for a lovely Greek Cypriot dish I used to have in a restaurant in London - broad beans in a garlicky tomato sauce on a bed of artichoke hearts. Divine!
I did wash my hands when I first came in and again once I had unpacked.
I have been pining for some hummus. Normally I don't buy it because I can't resist it. I bought the smallest pot and came home and ate it with a spoon. I hope I am cured now for a while. Cost me 400 calories.

Sorry about the mix up. I knew one of the cruises was for DH's celebration. Since the ship is retiring I completely understand why you are waiting until the last minute. And, yes, if it does sail it will not be as enjoyable if there are too many restrictions and tour cancellations.1 -

Karen in VA: The noise cancelling doggy home/bed is brilliant! Thanks for sharing. I sent my doctor a message last night regarding the colonoscopy situation but haven’t looked for her reply yet. It is still a bit too early to expect a response.
Amber: Thanks for the link!
I checked and the fitness club I belong to is scheduled to be open this morning. I am planning to go to yoga today. It is a bit early to hear from my doctor after I sent her the message that I woul prefer NOT to have a colonoscopy at this time. Being in a hospital is asking for health risk in my opinion.

Amber - Thanks for the links. Unless I am missing it, nowhere in the data does it show that every state in the USA is reporting cases of Covid-19. I followed the links to the CDC and they still show that the majority of US states have not reported any cases. That could change, but at this time I'm not finding your data to support that every state in the USA has reported cases. Can you point me to where I am missing the reports/stats that show every USA state has reported cases?
Thanks!

Grocery shopping during a fasting window, I think I have gone bonkers. But I am just buying what's on my list.

Rebecca - I got the recipe from Skinnytaste, but I have since modified it. I don't always bother with the apple. We love it with wholegrain mustard on the side.
Tonight, as it's Friday, we are having a bottle of Gewurtztraminer with it. I made myself do 300 calories on the machines just now in the wine's honour. Plus the shopping, I'm counting 800 burn for the day.
SuziQ- We originally went on the Saga Pearl ll for 3 trips. It was only 430 passengers and we adored it. That is now gone. Its sister ship, Saga Sapphire is on its last trips now, much to our sadness. It has 700 passengers. We did my 70th on it. The two new ships coming on stream are each 999 passengers.
Ships are like dear friends - you get really involved with the sailings, the docking in ports, the captain's announcements, the piloting, the daily life at sea. It is that, rather than the destinations that attract us. We loved the small ships, even though they are a bit tired. Because they are small you really get to know all the staff. We are very antisocial and don't mix much with the other passengers, who are a bit ancient and conservative. We eat at our own table for two. But we love the staff and the whole business of being at sea. Last time we made friends with the captain's wife.
I love seeing how things work and the logistics of running such a complicated operation. I observe every little thing. I have nothing but admiration for Saga. You feel it is 5 star all the way. It's almost impossible to describe how good it is. It must be very difficult for them at the moment. I feel the pressure is building.

I'm sticking with the CDC site. It's the only US site where confirmed cases are posted. Most of the underground sites are just spreading fear and their own agendas.4 -

Barbara Happy belated 70th!!!
Barbara and Amber I have been craving everything I can’t have. That donut/chicken sandwich put me over the top! As much as I laughed, I want one! Of course, I won’t do it, but yesterday I walked past a box of Hostess Zingers (I’ve never eaten one) and they looked so good I wanted to buy it and eat the whole box!!! My sugar would be in the 500s, but I would die a happy girl?? LOL
Machka Sorry to hear about your tooth. Glad you are getting it fixed.
I will take my laptop to babysitting. Maybe Iris will take a long nap and I can catch up?? Love and hugs to all you wonderful ladies!! You add happiness to my days, and I love that we are all here for each other… there’s something about being over 50 and having other women to talk to about everything, sharing pictures, taking virtual trips together, sharing goals...! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!! Luci in WNC

NPR reports confirmed cases in 22 states as of 11:15 et this morning. I think a lot of the confusion comes from people who are quarantined as possible cases but not tested positive yet.

Hello Ladies!
Gray, dreary day here. Trying very hard not to let it affect me. I am so ready for Spring ...
In anticipation of sunnier days, I am going to start Spring cleaning this weekend. Then we're going to look at our taxes/financials. Really know how to live it up. My husband wants to retire in February of next year and we need to get our ducks in a row.
I made a point of grocery shopping this week ... mainly to round out my pantry/freezer. Truth is, we could live comfortably for several weeks as I tend to overbuy. Might be some redundancy, but we would survive. There is no hand sanitizer, bleach, disinfectant wipes, toilet paper, or hand soap to be found on our community's shelves. There are signs posted "due to shipping disruptions." Mind boggling to me. I don't worry about myself, but I do worry about my elderly parents and my older son who is living in a group home setting. The staff haven't been particularly savvy about good hygiene before now.

Took tax materials in today. Did it early because of virus scare. It was good to get it done. I do organize it and do my own tax prep. I always seem to have something in our taxes that need our tax guide to help us with. We have used her for a number of years and she is reasonable. DH does not help with them so I like having another pair of eyes who knows what they are doing to look at them.
Feels good to get it done.
We will start daylights saving time this weekend!4 -
Beautiful day in my neck of the woods. Went out and walked during lunch hour.
The tulip blooms are coming up and it is wonderful.
Later today, I am taking my daughter prom dress shopping. Not sure how that will go since neither of us like shopping. Fingers crossed she finds a dress in the first store we go in.

KJ-Outside in the backyard with JR now. Fresh air to open windows are a great thing for ones health!
USA- not all states have testing kits a few got theirs last night so their having suspected cases quarantine but can’t give numbers or updates. Good example Hawaii not testing to South Dakota finally received test kits last night!
Texas CDC numbers showing the 5 new cases in Houston all positive but not our San Antonio few other cities 11 mild positive cases (yes were still on high alert 🚨 still have infected their still finding infected the Lady came in contact with).
No body wants to count the cruise ship positives as their own (cruise ship 🛳 don’t count I guess lol 😂 poor folks)
Finally finished feeding Hubby . He likes my new cake 🍰 reheated 30sec makes it all warm gooey.

Sounds wonderful! Googling Gewurtztraminer!😁
When I was shopping I found a flapjack and waffle mix that sounded interesting! Its called Kodiak Cakes, Power Cakes. 1/2 cup of the mix for flapjacks gives me 14 grams of protein/and only 2g fat/ 3 g of sugar. I noticed it had a muffin mix and cookie mix.

When we went commissary shopping there was a whole aisle full of toilet paper, and cleaning supplies! There hasn't been any cases of the virus on our island. If there is then I will keep husband home.
My Japan son is being taken care of. They have daily checks and have to carry verification of it with them at all times. There has been no cases confirmed in the Navy.
Well my weekly meals shall be made with:
Proteins:
Salmon, tuna, small steak, kielbasa sausage, turkey slices
Fats:
Avocados, real butter, almonds, walnuts
Veggies:
3 servings of Taylor Farms salad kits, zucchini, bok choy, spinach, carrots
Fruits:
Strawberries, applesauce, grapefruit juice, grapefruit segments
Dairy:
Yogurt, havarti cheese,
Carbs:
Wild rice cups, hearty grain bread, Wasa crispbread, Japanese Udon noodles
Belvita breakfast crackers
Not really any sweet things, but I do have honey, and yogurt! My strawberries are huge! Probably half of the box I will freeze to use in blender.👍
I organized my area in the kitchen again. It is nice to see exactly what I have.

Well tried twice to upload but 50 states is too much to handle or maybe it because it was a lot of links.
Some states just got testing kits today other still have 0-5 kits only. So those states cannot show. Some state’s show up on the CDC sites as zero but yet their people are stuck positive or symptomatic on cruise ships to military base in another state or can’t be tested to be counted. Lots have people in hospital or self isolated waiting for results. Not to forget this morning tests results that have been done were released this morning so check your news. I did find one state that news said had it today their saying no cases being tested but a FAKE news source had listed them as having positive cases! Happening so fast the CDC maps can’t even catch up. CDC Isn’t even counting our cases mild symptom positives maybe because some are here getting well but belong to other state’s.Yet their in our town we have many isolated we’re under high alert have positive cases that came in contact with that lady “mall Gal” will call her. So update there is a State untouched! Was a hoax theirs definitely one that doesn’t have any being tested, quarantined,in a cruise ship or on a base,or positive for it,or had it but got well or died. So glad to hear that!
Just google Coronovirus state’s name can see the news. I’m not trying a 3rd time the apps not allowing it. Be easier if it was all in 1 article not 30-50 of them including their states government sites.
I still say this is like the Swine Flu just let folks live their lives stop quarantines!
Amber Tx (In Coronovirus effected City of San Antonio... good luck 🍀 finding hand sanitizer here lol 😂) Darn Mayor still has us in high Health alert 🚨! They still don’t know everyone Mall Lady came in contact with. I wouldn’t call in either if I was them (CDC asking them to come forward on their own).2 -
Rebecca- I am going to hitch a ride with Heather to head to your place for food! Lol!2

USA
https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/articles/2020-03-06/which-states-have-reported-cases-of-the-coronavirus
Or
https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/03/health/us-coronavirus-cases-state-by-state/index.html
Here’s 21 States. That are listed by name. As you know my town has had cases so even tho it says Mach 4th for Texas it was before that or my town wouldn’t be treating so many that have mild symptoms are positive (San Antonio Texas).
But as of 2 hours ago their reporting 23states (The states with it are not all showing on maps their slowly being added. https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/03/how-many-americans-have-been-tested-coronavirus/607597/
Like the news articles say Not Including Cruise Ship people (so even if your state says zero if even 1 positive cruise ship person has it from your state you do have some just lucky their staying with me lol 😂.
CDC is ONLY reporting tests it has done NOT tests by state health departments or other labs. So CDC charts will not show all Coronovirus test results only theirs. Their not including cruise ship passengers to their states tally since another country or agency has done many of them. Some states cannot test yet or can test only a few but of you see cruise ship passenger interviews theirs folks from Idaho to New York on their they say who tested positive among themselves but they will not show up on CSC tally. My town used Stare Health Department for testing so ours are not added to the CDC numbers for Texas but Houston used the CDC so theirs is counted.
https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/03/how-many-americans-have-been-tested-coronavirus/607597/
One state begged the CDC to test a person they had but was turned down multiple times. Patient think was female grew sicker finally got tested had been positive the whole time. So that person is the states 1st case but did they give up use a different lab since the CDC was turning them down? If so it wasn’t counted/if they gave in then it was.
Amber Tx
As of Feb 13th we only had 7state with reports of it.
As of March 6th we have 23 according to news sources but if you look at videos where a cruise person says them or friend tested positive says their states name it’s one of the ones claiming zero still or they have no way to test /or just got test kits today.
So to get accurate number got to look at more than 1 site.Their only listing their numbers not the whole countries. To find out your own states hard CSC not even reporting on my city we have a large number of positive cases Govenor y Mayor even says so.1 -

That's why I am mainly sticking with WHO. Most of the rest are unreliable.
And personally I will welcome a 14 day restriction or whatever IF it happens.
That would be great ... at home for a couple weeks! !4 -
Machka - WHO is a good site. I called the CDC they said my town has zero cases hung up. I then called the Health Department to City they said we had cases unconfirmed, many positives,y to head the Mayor y Governor Abbott high alert advice. Called North Park Mall they said We cleaned come on down lol 😂. I can’t go by the CDC they dropped the ball on my state already. I’m having to look at other avenues find out if our high alert 🚨 is still going or not all the way to how many cases still. Plus I’m still mad at the CDC for goofing up here.
