Lisa - AAAAAHHHHH!
No hand sanitizer left anywhere, but I did find one of the last boxes of paracetamol. I have a recipe for making the sanitizer, so I asked the pharmacy if they had any gel for mixing into it. No. None. That pharmacy is the worst one ever . Eventually found the gel at the healthy shop. Also bought lavender oil so it smells good. I already have a big bottle of rubbing alcohol for when I fiddle with my blackheads.
Kept my gloves on all round and washed my hands when I got home.
Katla - I have instructed DH in all those measures. I hope he will take care as I will probably be away in London on Thursday night. That trip is what I need the sanitizer for.

My best friend is a hospital respiratory therapist. She treated a guy who then tested positive for Covid 19. So we are all worried for her now.
Still have not heard from my DD about graduation. I suppose the whole event might get cancelled.
And I am worried about my trip to Tucson the end of March. Not sure whether it is safe to fly, or would I be bringing it home to my elderly parents? Too much fear and guessing.
Heather my dad fainted in the bathroom in the night once. They said it was a known side effect to one of his medicines. His med was changed and it never happened again. Hope for a remedy for your DH.

Happy International Women’s Day!!!!
Also, I read an article over the weekend about the Kirkland outbreak, and someone at/near the facility said that some residents went from mild symptoms to acute in an hour. Granted, they have compromised health conditions to start with, but still.
One of my husband's co-workers lives in the Seattle area and has been diagnosed. She wrote up her story, and it is truly an example of mismanaged health care.
Oh, and we have a case in our county now. Still no official word on where in the county exactly, so speculation is rampant. Our governor declared a state of emergency -- I know that's mostly a formality, but still.
Someone who called this in info-demic was correct. I don't understand the lack of information. I understand protecting personal health information, but I don't understand not telling us where in the county the infected person is -- I presume, now in hospital, since it is difficult to be tested in the US unless you are already acute.

Hubby and I were/are scheduled to go to Israel at the end of the month for his work. Watching that situation carefully. The medical people in Israel have suggested limiting/banning visitors from the US, but Netanyahu, according to the Israeli news article I was reading, wouldn't let them because he didn't want to tick off Trump. At the very least, another source I read said Israel wanted visitors to assure them that they have not been in crowds of over 100 people within 14 days of visiting. So beginning Wednesday, I will stay out of crowds, just in case we end up going, and so I can honestly respond that I have been careful.
Gracious. What a mess.
Much love to all.
Stay healthy, and wash those hands!

Heather I’m sorry to hear about your DH. I hope everything is fine with him. Bumps on the head can be worrisome.

Don’t Worry! No Coronavirus for me. I’m somewhat exposed, of course, doing taxes and all, but we’re instructed to disinfect our desk and wash our hands after every client, and to avoid touching our face.
I am now at goal, as of Feb. 11th which is between 140-145#, or 64-65kg. I tend to the lower end of that spectrum for now. When I have my panectomy, my the surgery to remove excess skin at the lower end of my abdomen, I’ll lose another 5-10#. It’ll put me about 10# above my weight as a mid- to late-teenager. I’ll probably need to gain some. I’m only 5’5” now, though, and I was 3” taller then.
I am very healthy, only on one minor dose of meds for my arrhythmia and triglycerides. My heart is healthy for someone who is almost 77. I take one inhaler for my asthma daily and 2 capsules. In the morning, 1 in the evening for my fibromyalgia. The rest are supplements.
I’m going to Oaxaca Mexico again in May. I’m seriously thinking of staying there for the deepest part of our winters in a year or so.
My biggest worry right now is my eldest daughter. I go up there on my days off to spell her kids and husband mid-week. She is on strict bed rest until the 18th, when she is scheduled for surgery to repair her vagina. Her rectum and bladder have both prolapsed into the vault and are causing membrane erosion inside with constant fear of infection. I’ll stay with her for a day after she comes home as well. I’m worried that they’ll need to postpone it due to the Coronavirus situation, which is getting more serious in the larger community as well as those poor folks in the care home north of where I live by a couple of suburbs.
Love and miss you all! I can’t begin to catch up now.

So sorry to hear about your daughter, Trucker. What a worry. Hope the surgery goes without hitch. I had a friend who had similar problems. She is fine now.
Nice to see you back. I have asked about you off and on. Your new weight is amazing! Well done. I hope the abdominal surgery makes you more comfortable.
JR - HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 3 is a great age! :drinker:
All good here. We've had a vegetarian day, with blue cheese lunch with walnut bread, and frittata dinner. All fabulous.
I did 350 bonus calories this afternoon, partly while watching my new fave detective series. "Hidden". It's extremely gloomy so I don't watch it with DH, but it's my secret indulgence. I row and bike while watching it. Half the dialogue is in Welsh with subtitles.
Still waiting for Saga to make a decision. Grrrrrr! I might ring them later this week to see if they've extended the amend period. Other cruise lines have done so. Not caving in yet. I want to reschedule for next spring, or, just maybe, Christmas, which is a poss anyway.

And just like that, I think our trip to Israel is done:
Israel says anyone entering the country must self-quarantine for 14 days
From CNN’s Oren Liebermann
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that anyone entering the country from abroad —Israeli citizens and foreign nationals alike — must self-quarantine for 14 days.
Those foreign nationals who are unable to demonstrate to Israeli border authorities that they will be able to self-quarantine for two weeks will not be allowed to enter the country.
“This is a difficult decision, but it is necessary to protect public health — and the public health comes before everything,” Netanyahu said in a video statement on Monday.
“This decision will be in effect for two weeks; at the same time, we are making decisions in order to protect the economy of Israel,” he added.

Flea - so sorry. I read your earlier post and then saw the announcement.
Personally I think the world has gone crazy.3 -
Flea- goodness I hadn’t heard yet wow.Heard many countries if you visit you must quarantine.
Heather- Spring or Christmas better than now with the crazy quarantines.

Since no one would take the rest of the cruise ship folks my town decided to take over 200+ to Lackland Airforce Base (14min from me). Hopefully they can go home soon I feel so sorry for them quarantined on ship then a base then some even at home after all that quarantine time. Like a never ending quarantine for them.3 -
Pondering my options for next January. We are quite fancying Morocco and the Canaries.
I fancy the Christmas cruises, but DH dreads the enforced jollity and the enhanced Christmas price.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx5 -
Heather I think you've been to Morocco before no? My DH and I were just fondly remembering our visit, my profile pic is DH and I in the Sahara at sunset. We loved the architecture, food, people, etc. We would definitely visit there again. Never been to the Canaries, though. Don't think you could go wrong with either!
A full spring day here, I'll take it. My mood lifted instantly when my face felt the sun beaming down, joy joy.
Neighbor just knocked on our door to see if we would go 50/50 on a new wall/fence, we'll have to give that some deep thought and discussion. I know that good fences make good neighbors but I don't know if we're willing to put $$ into it to make our side uniform with theirs.

Heather: Enjoy your trip. :flowerforyou:
Lanette & Barbara: Ancestral eating would not be a good choice for me. Both sides of the family ate high cholesterol foods, accompanied by whipped cream and beer. The real health killer for both of my parents was cigarettes. Cigarettes got my dad’s heart and my mom’s lungs. At the end she lost her ability breathe. It was horrible for each of them and also for me to try to help while I could, and also to see the inevitable end if their lives.
Anne in DE: I hope you are able to celebrate your DD’s graduation. We have long held plans for a family get together in July or August to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. I hope it turns out to be possible. If not this summer, then as soon as world health worries are under control.
Flea: I hope you are able to take the trip to Israel safely but it looks like you may have to postpone for a while. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Sharon: You’re here!!! I am happy to see you posting again. I am so sorry to hear about your daughter’s health problems. I hope they are able to take care of her soon.
Amber: I think that is the biggest chocolate chip cookie that I’ve ever seen or am likely to see. WOW! Have a great party for the birthday boy.
I had an unfortunate trip to Safeway and was involved in a fender bender in the parking lot. The driver of the other car backed into me. I have good photos of the damage to my car and the evident lack of visible damage to the other car. I have been notified that someone wants to sue me for their car damages. I went to my insurance company and they helped me fill out a traffic report for the DMV. She faxed it in right away and they have it now.
Now we wait for the next step. I have quite a bit of damage that will have to be done in a body shop & we are waiting our turn for the work to be done.

Big Cookie 🍪- It’s my lazy way since JR lol spread the whole batch on toss it in lol
2nd biggest would be cookie cakes at the store lol 😂. Yes that’s a restaurant pan so bigger than store bought takes up the whole oven
Ancestral Eating- Had to do this for my stomach condition. It actually has helped a lot! Of course to do it it’s not foods the ancestral country eats now it’s their diets from thousands of years ago. So right now they may eat fry breads but 1,000’s of years ago their was no frying oils or stove tops that’s a current Native dish. Found that why my stomach condition worsened was I can’t handle my Mothers modern versions of her side at all barely. Most modern British cooking makes me sick but was perfect healthier for her. I had to go by Dads very mixed side so Jewish,Native American,Asian ,y Dark German, with a sprinkle of Mexican . Moms British y Dutch.Since hubby is Spanish,Jewish,Mexican most of his line up with mine. I can have potatoe pancakes 🥞, potatoe bread, unleavened breads, rice ,beans, chicken, tofu, soups, etc.
