I got out in the sunshine for a nice walk at lunch and after work I ran 5 miles on a nearby trail. Today it was sunny and 65 but so windy. Tomorrow the temp drops and the weather man even mentioned the S word!6

I met my monthly goal today with a 3 mile run around my neighborhood. It was pouring rain most of the morning so I waited it out and managed to get out when it was only misting/spitting rain. Not bad for running really, and I definitely overdressed for it.
I am a bit behind in the thread but will try to catch up and I'm going to head over to the April thread and get started there too.6 -
Social distancing work's y'all. This is my county:

@hamsterwheel6 Way to go getting it done and not giving up! You really hung in there through your struggles!1
-
wow @PastorVincent ! That is great! If only it had the same affect on my weight...
Since PV had such great news I had to see how the US was doing... this includes a correction. US numbers not world. Brain farts.
Oops@quilteryoyo I told you wrong.. those were US numbers
Here’s the world numbers.
Numbers are moving in the right direction... for the rest of the world.... c’mon US... distance!2 -

I distrust the weekend numbers in the US. Two weeks in a row the line is consistent except on Sundays, when it’s lower than expected. I think some lab staff are taking the day off.2 -
0331-8.1k, total-68.1k goal-100k
Hey all. It's been a week since my last run again, didn't make anything close to monthly goal. But still healthy and still running, so all is good.
Some personal *kitten* below. The girlfriend has now become the ex, and the process was not pretty. Lots of hard feelings and hard objects got thrown around. Spent the last week hashing things out, looking for a new apartment and moving. Basically settled as of yesterday.
Spent the run feeling out the new neighborhood. It's more of a business district than the last place, so much quieter in the early morning. There's a pretty big park with a 6km loop a little more than 2km away, so I've finally got a reasonable place to do long runs (not that I'm seeing many of them in the near future, but nice to have the option).
Updates on the C-virus situation in China for anyone interested:Beijing has had no local cases for nearly a month. All new cases have been people coming in from other countries. Currently they are sending any and all international travelers straight to the hospital if they have any symptoms, or into 14-day quarantine in designated hotels if they don't. No going home. No wandering about. We haven't closed our borders, but local airlines are allowed one flight a week per country, and foreign companies are allowed one flight a week to anywhere in China. I guess this keeps incoming people to a minimum, while anyone who direly needs to go anywhere can do so.
Yesterday went to eat in at a restaurant for the first time since this thing blew up in January. Most places are still either closed or doing takeaway only, and there are pretty strict rules for the places that are open for business. Two or three people are allowed at each table - any more and you'll have to wait for a private room. Every other table is left empty. We got a little card with each dish, stating the name of the chef who made it and his/her temperature today. But it was great to be able to eat together with a friend, after so long in isolation. It feels like a start.
First week back at work was kinda funny. One suddenly likes one's colleagues a lot better. We've got a third of the team coming in at a time, so things feel pretty slow even if the workload is not. People try to keep their distance and wear their masks until one guy takes it off to drink coffee, and then forgets all about it and starts talking to some other guy, and before you know it half the office is joking around and sharing snacks.
Sorry, that was a pretty depressing post. But it'll get better. Keep healthy and safe, everyone.16 -
Great work @hamsterwheel6 - finishing the HM at all under these circumstances sounds like a massive win to me!
@katharmonic - tempted by that challenge! I’ve been running a steady 3-4 mile route nearly every day in March so I guess it’s possible, but not sure if it would be asking for injury to do it without any breaks when I’m only just back to running since my operation. And I probably couldn’t participate officially as I’m over in the UK. Hmmm...
@noblsheep - sorry that you’ve had tough times. Hopefully a corner has been turned in more ways than one. Wishing you more good things to come.
@Avidkeo - hope work remains quiet for you and that we are all going to see some improvements soon.
I’m ending the month on a slightly shorter but back to slightly faster (average 10.5 minute miles) run. Which is not terrible given that I have to haul my slightly bigger rear ended up some nasty hills (max elevation 430ft).
Going to ponder my April goal and will see you over there soon x

Running is not my main fitness activity, so I am still happy I do that as well. 🙂 Thinking of you and of reporting has been a motivator. 🌻 I also made good friends in this thread, which I am happy about. 🙋♀️
Stay healthy and hoping you all can keep on running.🏃♀️ As long as we are allowed to do outdoor sports, I am not complaining! 👍 I could be worse!

I finished the month with a 3.10 mile run on the treadmill this morning using the Peleton app 80s music workout. I think someone else mentioned this but if you are interested the app is free for the next 90 days. They don’t ask for a credit card or payment information so you don’t have to worry about cancelling after 90 days or getting charged. They have a variety of workouts. Yesterday, I rode my bike along with one of their workouts. Since my bike is different I had to improvise some directives, but it was a good distraction. They also have walking on the treadmill workouts, strength training, yoga, stretching, bootcamp and others.

I finished out the month with a loop around the lake to warm up before doing a mace workout. If I had known, I would have done the extra 0.1 miles to round that up. But I exceeded my 100 mile goal and I ran every day, which makes 105 days straight.
Great job everyone! See you in the April thread.

I'm going to download it! The 80's music is right up my alley! I also went for a bike ride yesterday with my son. Really was a nice change.
Did 5 miles today, felt much today - but then again it was only 55F so that probably helped.
Now to get to work from my kitchen office lol (very dangerous for obvious reasons).

5.3 miles this morning to finish out March with 112.3 miles. It was a nice, easy run. I'm really glad that I am still able to get outside and run. It would be much harder to deal with all of this stress if I couldn't. I was thinking about those who are confined indoors and I really am proud of you for sticking to your running, and running a HM on the treadmill (I'm thinking of you @eleanorhawkins).
@hamsterwheel Great job on your HM! I love that you are wearing the bib!
@noblesheep So sorry to hear about your relationship woes.
I hope everyone is staying safe and sane! See you all over in the April thread!

5/16/20: Run for 57th AHC Half Marathon 🤞7 -
My June marathon just cancelled. I know people are going through a lot of real life serious stuff right now, but I can't help feeling demoralized and upset right now. I'm going to give myself a hour of self-pity and then figure out what I want my training to look like for the rest of spring/early summer.
They're offering a virtual option where we still get our shirt and medal. I'm thinking about doing it, at least that way I don't have to really change my training plan for the year.10 -
@SassyBelle070707 well done!1
-
Sorry catching up from last week, I gotta stay off TikTok it takes me away from important stuff like you guys.
Great job to everyone meeting their goals and before the end of the month!!
@shanaber just read your post from Saturday, BRAVO!!! I have a jacket from Skirt Sport and I brought one for Skip too and she loves it. I haven’t worn mine yet. I have like one or two running “skirts” and honestly I hate them, though they seem to look adorable on others and they love them.
@Avidkeo my heart goes out to you, you are truly selfless, thank you for all you do
@PastorVincent I don’t know about your weather but it’s 90 here one day and 50, then 75 every day is crap shoot. But ask soon as you get used to 80 it drops down again, it’s like MAKE UP YOUR MIND.
@Elise4270 let’s hope we see that downward trend soon here.
Hugs @noblsheep
@AlphaHowls glad to see you haven’t slowed down in the last couple months I’ve been away
@SassyBelle070707 Woohoo! Super job!!!! Sweet puppy too.
@janejellyroll sorry about your marathon, keep training hopefully things will go back to some sort of normal and you’ll be all ready to sign up for another. My daughter signed up for a virtual half to keep her going.
I so need to get myself together here with my running. I love to run, LOVE TO RUN. I feel like I was always hurt, broken ribs from a running fall, then screwed up knees from a running fall (do you see a pattern here), then Skip was very sick and I spent months running her from doctor to doctor test to test to find what was wrong with her. Thankfully we figured it out, she had surgery and is doing great, even ran her first full marathon in March. In October I had foot surgery that wasn’t going to be a big deal, well until he got in there and saw more wrong. Doctor said no running for 3 month WTF say what you said 6 weeks at the most. So I ran a trail race in November and could hardly walk for days, okay he said smart *kitten* and put me in a boot for at least 3 weeks, meanie. Started to run a little in December. But my speed and stamina was GONE (not that was a fast, but 58 year old mom fast), I gained lots of weight and basically miserable. So here we are in March, back in December the doctor didn’t lie, said it would be at least another 6 months for the swelling and pain to go away in my foot. It hurts after, sometimes during a run, and it’s still swollen. But it’s time to get myself together and get out there. So now I said it out loud therefore I must do it.
I’m in Alabama we are supposed to stay home unless we are at places like the grocery store, we can still do take out food with curbside service. All non essential places are supposed to be closed, nail salons, clothing stores, basically any place that doesn’t sell food. I’m going to work even though I have the option to tele-work, it’s just easier from my office than my kitchen table. There’s hardly anyone here and no one on my side of the building, I clorex wipe everything in my path ha ha. Skip is doing college from home and working. She works at a place called Chicken Salad Chick and quite a few of the employees are staying home per their parents instructions. We talked about it and she feels safe there is doing all she can to keep herself that way and wants to help keep her employer in business, so I have told her to do what she thinks is best as long as it’s within government guidelines. Except for running with me she has had ZERO social interaction, another good reason to be at work, let’s her see a face besides my own in person.
Geesh I’m just going on and on. I’ll stop there, hope you all aren't sleeping
