Penny - The kale is just an accompaniment to the chicken dish. It doesn't go in it, but I thought the sourness of the lemon dish would compliment the slightly bitter kale.
Do you have preserved lemons where you live? You can make your own at home, but, when I did, they went 'off' more quickly than the commercial ones. It's a Moroccan recipe. You also need saffron.
If you can get those ingredients I'll write out the recipe.
The supermarket trip was fine. Good distancing etc. Only one person in and out. I used my own trolley and wore gloves and a light raincoat. Huge sunglasses.
I got pears for DH to stew. Lots of veg, salad, strawberries, fish. Freshly baked bagels. OK now for Easter.

We've had a situation already. When I let the dogs out first thing, I saw something amiss in backyard, i called hubby and he immediately said someone broke into my shop. Our little farm vehicle was taken and about $2,000 in tools. Police won't come due to virus. I wont derail but it sickens me inside. I'll smile in spite of it and get my workout in soon.
That pic is of a new vehicle like the stolen one, ours was very "well used".

Feeling down today spoke to relative of our friend actually she is the sister of the widower. She said he is alone can’t see kids or grandkids. I posted a card through door earlier. Also a long time neighbour who has been ill for some time was in hospital not CV she was brought home today as she is dying. Her grandkids were standing around outside house. Personally am I wrong but lady is dying does it make sense to keep family from saying goodbye
Sorry to be so down
DH and I are fine
Keep yourselves safe

Sorry to hear about the theft.

JanetR - So sorry! I can't even imagine the sense of insecurity that having a theft so close to home leaves you with. Hugs!!

JanetR- how horrible grrr... I hope karma takes care of them... we have wind, rain and thunderstorm today..
We had one gentleman pass from the virus. And we have another lady they sent home from the nursing home.. which has the virus..
And as it is a 55 and over complex there really is no protocol on what to do. Everyone is just sort of ignoring it all.
The lady that is home from.nursing home has a high fever and her idiot family basically ignore her.. the health department has told them they need to get a caregiver in for her. But they rely on the people here and could give a rat's patootie about her.. so if something happens to her that would be 2 in a month in the same building..it is rediculous...7 -
Find Waldo lol
We had thefts here a lot we even moved over it ..that y a bad landlord was the last straw for us. Now tho most theives may be out of work desperate to pay rent but food. If it’s just a criminal who steals all the time before y after the virus we can only hope his next house is a cops!
Machka- Lol 😂 sounds like my dreams I dreamed I was in Wuhan shopping 🛒 for groceries y Daughter was even there y JR y hubby. Weird dreams it’s the mind sorting out all the overload of information we’re having to gather to keep our families safe!
Outside playing with JR it’s humid but airing out the house is important.
Found a video their showing how the virus spreads with a cough 😷 wear your masks

China traveling again- long lines to travel they should stay home will reinfect them if they don’t their not even thinking about that2 -
My life seems a bit on hold these days. It is windy, and 50's so a walk won't be fun. I have 6 letters to answer, and I feel like there's nothing to write about except me a' whinin! *sighes*
I texted my middle sister, and she wrote about what a fun day she had with her grand daughter's 6th birthday. All of her friends drive by the house, got cake, and sang to her. Even her teacher drive by, so sweet. When I texted her I was at a low point. What depressed me was that she never asked how I was doing. I know, she's not a mind reader, but still, family does that sort of thing. You ask about each other's life. My sister's empathy button has broke, and the drinking, and smoking pot did it. I guess what I need to do is contact my older sister for that. We all need to go to the people in our lives that give us strength.

Well, went to Aldi. They’re supposed to only let 60 people in the store, but even counting the workers, I don’t think there were 60 in the store. Well, no big deal. They also had the aisles marked for going only in one direction. I would like to see them always do this. There were a lot of people bagging their items outside. I did get what I needed for Easter and decided that anything else can wait until next week. Then we went to the Post Office and Vince needed more boxes so we had to go to uHaul. Very windy today so I will probably work some on the things downstairs.
Shhh—so far the pump to the pool is doing well. It ran for almost 6 hours yesterday and not a problem. Let’s hope it continues this way. I want that pool to be ready asap. Got my float out of the pool shed yesterday and will probably work on blowing it up when it’s not so breezy.
Janetr – what a horrible thing to have happen to you!

Heather: My favorite member of the kale/cabbage family is broccoli. I’ve loved it since childhood. DH can no longer eat the stems, but he can eat the dark green tops.
(((Kate UK))) I am sorry that your neighbor is dying but happy that her grandkids were as close by as safety allows.
Janetr: I’m so sorry about the theft of your tools and little farm vehicle. I hope you’re insured and the thieves are caught. :grumble::
Rita: Your clothes line is functional. What more could you ask?
Allie: I’m sorry for the lady who was sent home alone without support from her family. Could masked neighbors visit through an open door to the hallway?
Amber: Thanks for the entertainment.
I’m hoping to entice DH to go out for a walk in the neighborhood. He has a mobility device that is able to go .

Kate UK - I'm with you. The person is dying, and not from the virus. The grandkids should be allowed inside with social distancing from each other. There is no risk to the person as they are dying anyway! Just from each other. Some rules are just crazy. Gathering outside sounds like more of a risk!
I also can't wait for a reliable antibody test. At the moment my friend, who has had it, can't go to see her sister, or travel to Portsmouth to her other apartment. Her sister is recovering from a back operation and is in pain. She would be the perfect person to help. Unfortunately there are no really good tests yet and we need a fraud proof certification process. Right now she has to stay at home and drive herself nuts. I have two friends in that position. It makes no sense.
My preserved lemon chicken was heaven.
Watching a repeat of Lewis tonight.

When I went to grocery at 6 this morning noticed a police car parked outside of the store. Didn't surprise me. It is windy and a wintery mix is falling. A good day for a nap.
(Janetr) so sorry that happened to you.
One of my choir members has both parents stricken with COVID. Dad is particularly bad. So it is becoming more real how serious it is.
Spent morning trying to straighten our an overcharge from Best Buy. I think it is going to get straightened out now. It had to do with trying to get the son who just got out of the hospital and updated computer. My charge card company wanted me to deal with Best Buy Directly. They no longer deal with disputes over the phone or in person because of the crisis. The only take curb side returns. Unfortunately this had to do with something I already returned and it was not processed correctly. I relayed that to may charge card and I believe it will now be resolved.
Did have a pleasant walk and lunch with son.
