Seems like I woke up every hour last night. Too much daytime sleeping, and no gym! The days do blur into one another.
I took a typing class but it didn't help me much. I type about ten words a minute with one finger, less when my nails get long.

shopping--I went to Costco on March 12 and again on April 16 I'll have to go again in about 2 weeks because they limited how much canned dog food I could buy. I went to the grocery store on March 23 and again on April 4. I plan to go again no sooner that April 26. We use frozen vegetables and frozen meat. We plan well so each shopping trip is complete. Going to the store is stressful because I am very careful to keep my distance from other people and to select wisely so I don't miss anything on my list. I strip down in the mud room/laundry room when I get home, then shower and wash my hair. I have purchased two items from Amazon rather than go to an additional store and I have done without other things rather than shop again or elsewhere.

Starting backward from p 72 to try to catch up today!
I am sad as I believe we are losing our dear Rocky…he has been limping for a week or so and he is declining. We haven’t been to the vet, as we would normally, because of the virus. We already lost a greyhound to osteosarcoma (common in these dogs for some reason) and his quick decline and the fact that we can find no injury on the leg are scary symptoms.
Got a picture of our new teenager!! 13 yesterday! (our oldest grandchild)
Karen Thank you for the violin on the rooftop! Beautiful! Loved the museum! Couldn’t play the Mission piece. Phoenix is a doll baby! All these adorable kids!
Pip Sweet pic of Rocky in chair! Precious, precious puppy pictures!!
Terri Thank you for the Monty Python!! LOL
Machka 61 adjusted to 57 on typing in my lap…I remembered why I don’t take tests…finished with a stomach ache and headache…so dumb! I took Typing on a manual in high school. Those things were so hard to work, but they were very good exercise. My piano skills improved during that semester!
LOL I just read your “not good in person or the phone…” I’m not good on them or the computer…guess that’s why I’m retired! LOL
Heather Love the dedication to taking treats to the grands! They are so blessed with you!
Amber Love your shopping success!
Kelly The boys are so sweet in their Easter bunny ears!!
SuziQ Cat in the bunny ears…LOL
Barbie Isn’t that the truth about haircut appointments? I did a shout out to my stylist on Facebook! Maybe she will fit me in??

I seriously feel like a pinball when shopping these days, trying to stay 6 feet away from people who are deTERmined to walk near me. Annoying - so I generally tend to order and do a no-touch pickup, where they put it directly in my trunk.2

We don't have any trouble here getting fresh fruit and lovely vegetables. We are eating just the same, if not better than ever.
The local butcher delivers, so we are eating the same amount of meat as usual, but I have always eaten a lot of fish, crustaceans, and try to be veggie at least one day a week. Yesterday was frittata. I would do more vegan meals, but DH isn't too keen.
Our stores are all very good with the social distancing. Lots of space, one in one out.
We can't get a delivery slot at all from the supermarket, and I have tried every day, unless you are on the government's list of extremely vulnerable. Luckily our shopping is not a problem, but there are just a few things you can only get at the mega supermarket. I'm just using something else.
I do have a system when I get home of taking gloves and sunglasses off, washing hands, unpacking to put away, washing hands, wiping handles of trolley, bag etc with alcohol. I don't strip off and shower. I would if there was someone extremely vulnerable in the house.
Most people I know personally are eating very well as they have time to cook.
Most people I know are not finding it hard because they are lucky to have nice places to live and a garden.
I feel for the people with money worries, abusive partners, vulnerable friends and family, loads of kids, no space. Dangerous jobs. Front line workers. Isolation.
I am so grateful for my situation, but I am pining for my grandchildren.
The robot dog for Max's birthday arrived at 8 am this morning.
KJ - Unfortunately the purple washed out. Fun idea though.
My next clue. Exercise machine.
Just been out for my 5k run. Beautiful day, blue sea. A couple of people swimming and canoeing. People on the beach, but very spread out. Lovely. Not too hot.
I really didn't feel like going out, but remembered that you never regret a run. Also that the hardest bit is getting your trainers on and getting out of the door.

LUCY ~ Hugs for you and Rocky. Several of us have lost our beloved pets since Christmas. It takes a hunk out of your life!
BARBIE ~ Your shopping strategies seem reasonable and well planned. I am doing the same thing.
Loving all the grandchildren pictures! Keep them coming ladies!

We're eating well!
First, we've been harvesting veggies and apples from our garden.
Second, I started buying some extra food about a month before the panic set in so we could probably eat well for a month without shopping anywhere.
This means we've got quite a lot of variety. Different things for dinner each evening. And I've been enjoying fresh cucumber and cheese sandwiches at lunch which I love. Plus I've got probably 2 weeks worth of my usual work lunch if I wanted to return to that again.
I do need to eat more yogurt this coming week or it will go off.

What was the question again?
Here ...
How can 12 become 28, 11 become 30 and 10 become 52 ?
I had an idea, but it didn't work ... didn't create a pattern.1 -
When walking briskly on the treadmill at the beginning of the week ...
12 minutes feels like 28.
When walking briskly on the treadmill in the middle of the week ...
11 minutes feels like 30.
When walking briskly on the treadmill at the end of the week ...
10 minutes feels like 52.

Nancy from TX: Welcome to a great group!
Terri: I love Always Look on the Bright Side of Life. Monte Python at its best!
Lisa: Enjoy your painting.
Regarding shopping: I take advantage of Senior Hours in local stores whenever possible. I always wear a mask and gloves, and always bag my own groceries. It seems to be working well enough. Our local stores will shop for you and deliver to curbside if you call in advance & ask. We tried it once, but I really like to go in and choose my own selections if possible.
I tried a new vegetable oil for making salad dressing yesterday. We’ve been using canola oil for ages but decided to try avocado oil. It was lovely in flavor and has a better nutrition balance as well. WIN!!!!

That looks so much like my Teddyboo, laughing about peeing on the cat. He is the color of a coffee-stained white, which some optimists call champagne. Sweetest dog I ever had, out of six past dogs. I will never forget the day I told my ex that I had taken half our money and was leaving. We were talking through clenched teeth, and little Boo came in front of me and growled at him. He is always and forever on my side.
He needs a vet visit too. He needs his teeth cleaned, and he has a little bump on his eyelid that needs to come off, and he needs shots. Mostly he needs me to clip his nails, as always. He doesn't eat much, but he converts it all directly into hair and nails.
We play a game where he has to sit and stay until I bend down and touch both my knees. Then he comes running for his scritches. Such a joy to play. He is the smartest most affectionate dog. 😀
So while I haven't been shopping or doing much of anything else, I have been spending lovely time with Teddy.
So sorry to hear about Rocky, and all who have lost dear pets.

Today would have been my Momma's birthday. I miss her so much! There is a huge hole in my heart where she used to be!! She was only 56 when she died (and I was 26).

Michele - the stores here only allow one person per family to shop at a time. The only exception is if someone is assisting for a medical reason or a single parent. The other think they have done is made all aisles one way only. You have to wait to pass people. It’s inconvenient if you know exactly what you want.
As for Colby’s Mother, I bet her menu was one meal with a take it or leave it rule. I can’t imagine anyone making more meals than necessary. I was surprised when you posted how old Jess is, I assumed she was still in her early 20’s she should do some cooking and give you a break especially since her and Colby want something different.
I took typing in high school and failed the course. It was one of the failures that made me decide to quit school all together. In 1995 I went back to school and took a computer course, I found typing on a keyboard much easier than the old electric typewriter and passed the typing portion with 100%. My instructor in that course only typed with two fingers and could type 60+ wpm. It was amazing to watch him.
Luci - are hairdressers not closed in your state? All hairdressers are closed here as you can’t social distance and get a haircut. My daughter is my stylist but due to her husbands line of work (medic) and mine in the nursing home we are not seeing each other. Man I miss my girls and grandchildren and am so envious of those that still get to see their families.
There was an active shooter situation in Nova Scotia that started last night and ended this morning. From the limited news reports it seems the shooter stole an RCMP vehicle and uniform. He is now in custody, the number of victims and severity have not been released yet.
I have to go get a few groceries today and since I do have to go out anyway I may see if I can find another puzzle. The two I bought were way too easy.
Work has been incredibly tough, I left in tears on Thursday. It is the way we are being treated by the Administrator who is working from home more than anything else making it difficult. I still think that all of us in the office should be working from home to lower the number of people going in to the facility. I’m not the boss though and can’t make those decisions.

Good morning!
Back from my morning shopping - the stores were pretty empty. Of course, I was at Walmart at 7:10 (they opened at 7) then Safeway at around 7:40. Love my early morning shopping when it's not crowded. I'm getting some indication of some normalcy returning. Still not a lot of TP, but there was a bit of paper towels and bleach.
Only concern was I didn't see the usual checkers at Walmart. Of course, it was pretty early and I know some don't come on shift until 8 or 10. I asked a fellow minding the self-checkouts (hadn't seen him before) if any of them had gotten sick. He said not, but they weren't coming in - they were self isolating. Maybe it's just cautionary since many of them had worked for weeks without masks, gloves, any sanitizing sprays or wipes in their areas.
Anyhow, stocked up and shouldn't need to hit Walmart for 2 weeks.
Have a good day, ladies!

Terri y Karen laughing so hard from guine pigs own museum to Monty Python lol. I miss Monty Python some just can’t be topped!
Luci- My trick is lots in the garage little in the house! I can’t have nicknacks down low or barely at all with JR lol 😂. So less dusting. Tile floors lots! Only 4 small carpet areas. We still have our tiny amount of furniture from when we lived in a tiny very tiny rental trailer (was so tiny they pieces to RVs together to make it) y tiny rental houses where they provided most of the furniture.New furniture in the far future very far .
Lol Heather I remember explaining military time to Daughter before she shipped off to the Navy she wouldn’t listen. 20minutes after departing she texts what does this mean?? Spent a week explaining it by text y calls lol 😂. She finally caught on when she was hospitalized straight from boot camp fainted (period had just finished had t slept in days bad combination 2 girls same time died from the exact same complications heavy periods not enough fluids was the cause). They now ask girls that personnel questions hydrate them before the testing. A boy died same test but different reasons they missed a heart condition he was unaware of their more careful about that too. Another boy hospitalized with Daughter they both had stayed up working 72hrs straight before the test with not enough water they changed it to those with the special duties get a few hours to rest before the test. Good news is they tested her for everything she’s 100% healthy her friend (still buddies with due to their hospital y work bonding) is now on meds for an undiagnosed blood pressure issue... funny what children’s doctors miss for some they always said he was stressed from school he told me now he knows it was his diet!! No issues off the meds now that his diet has no salt y is tailored to him. Daughters is tailored for Pescatarians but she loves MRI meals they call her nuts lol 😂 so she been known to indulge with an MRI coffee ☕️ y MRI meal. She hates sweets tho unless it’s ice cream or Starbucks Frappuccino. Been missing her.

Boiled egg 🥚 with broccoli Normandy for brunch. Thinking salad 🥗 later on yummy . 2eggs with cheesy cheese sticks (offered the pizza Gal a mask 😷 from my late moms cancer days she said she had one was embarrassed to wear it made that college age girl promise to put it on. The other girl training here said told you you needed it! Lol 😂. I also let her know it’s mandatory in the city now. Heard hubby bark stop trying to give away our masks!!) I wasn’t giving our worker ones out! He thinks the young need to get sewing he said we may need moms of the workers families need one or them. He probably right but Mom instincts kick in! Drinking Diet Coke I know it’s bad for the teeth enamel so I need to not indulge in it when we order pizza for JR...yes he still picky.
My Uncle in his 80’s was happy meals on wheels has provided him with masks to gloves for delivery now...he delivers he refuses to rest ever since Vietnam raising us kids (he helped Dad raise me take care of my mom he also raised 2 kids he found in the side of the road..took in 2 Swedish exchange students who still come down stay with him lol). He a Church Deacon to cares with Dad y Aunt a 90 ur old man. They just don’t rest!
Indoor exercising again with JR. Glad I started him exercising young he finally doesn’t stop me or cry he participates.Patience is a Virtue like I tell him daily lol.

Hello All. A lot has been going on lately. Well, a lot compared to my normal life.
First, virtual hugs to those in need.
The mister is still struggling with debilitating pain. He is at his wits' end as to what to do. He can't get an appt. at the specialist till June and honestly, I think he will have done irreparable damage trying to alleviate pain by then, if it hasn't already happened. I think his doctors are violating their hippocratic oath by refusing to see him or trying to help. He's starting to go into depression over this.
As for the FIL, he is not well either. He is on the mend after surgery, but his emotional well-being is on the decline. He's many thousands of miles away. With the COVID-19 restrictions, it would be impossible to visit anyway. Fortunately, he's stayed virus free for the time-being.
As for the shelter in place, I don't find it much different from my normal life. I am very much an introvert and usually avoid large groups anyway.
I hate group projects and even chose my master's degree program because the university promised no group projects. Like Machka, I usually ended up doing most of the work and got frustrated by my groupmates' lack of effort. I was beyond furious when one of my instructors in that program made us do a group project. The good news is that my 2 partners actually stepped up and one of them is now a very dear friend. I even still keep in touch with that instructor.
However, I still hate group things and I hate talking on the phone, but much prefer that over a Zoom call. The appeal of Zoom happy hours escapes me.
I don't find my behavior changing much due to the virus. I work from home and don't have a car, so even before this, going out had to be intentional. My hands have always been dry and cracked from "over-washing," so that's not new to me. The biggest difference for me is having the mister home all the time and unable to do much. I also find it much more crowded in our neighborhood when I try to run.
What I hope will result from this is more cleanliness in general in public places. Using a public toilet is quite a disgusting task and hopefully, that will change. I carry antibacterial wipes with me and use them often. I have always wiped down my phone somewhat regularly, but especially after being around children.

Michele - I too was shocked to find out how old Jess is. I also thought she was in her early 20s. When my mother visits me, I take care of her. I cook for her. I don't even let her help unless I'm teaching her how to make something and she wants to. The same goes for when I visit her. I cook, I clean up, I run errands for her. One of the first things I do is go to the store and buy my own food.
I do let both my parents do what they want to do for me, not what I think they should do. Perhaps you want to do all of that for her?
Typing -- I used to 10 finger type up to 90 WPM accurately. I can still type pretty fast, but I don't have the flexibility in my fingers or the muscle shape in my arms like I used to. I was coloring with my niece on a video chat and my arm hurt like crazy the next day.
I can still type and carry on a conversation while looking at the other person. It boggles the mister's mind that I can do that.
