Quarantine has not been kind; I've been out of control. But honestly, I lost control about a year ago, just not to the degree that quarantine has driven it. Trying this again to get back in the groove. No.More.Excuses!
04/30–176--Baby steps beginning today, right? Back to work on what I know is good for me.
05/01–174—I figured yesterday’s uptick was salt and expected a drop, but am SO thankful for it. I did hit my water goal yesterday, which I haven’t been doing consistently for months. Yesterday doesn’t make it consistent, but it’s a start back in the right direction. Did well with food choices too. I’m slightly encouraged by the feeling that, for one day at least, I was able to be back in control of what I put in my freaking mouth!
05/02–173.4—Got in all my water yesterday, did well with food, and also got in two miles of walking after dinner. Steps: 11,206. Yesterday felt good, and a comment that @quiltingjaine made was dead on—One Day at a Time. I think it’s clear that I’m a food addict and have been my whole life, really. I’ve had a relapse over the last 8-10 months, but it’s time to give up those bad habits again and make new ones like I had done before. I did it once. I can do it again.

04/28: 256–Just starting back up so 2 pounds of water weight I’m sure.
04/29: 253–Still mostly water weight. Hoping I can stay motivated now since I probably won’t lose anymore for several days.
04/30: 253.6–I expected this. No surprise here. This is where I usually lose my motivation though, so hoping that doesn’t happen this time.
05/01: 254.6–I was under my calorie goal yesterday but ate way too much sodium. Lots of water today and hopefully this “gain” will be gone tomorrow.
05/02: 252.8–Water weight is gone and I even had Dairy Queen for dinner last night! And instead of just throwing caution to the wind when I got there to order which is what I would usually do, I picked something that fit into what calories I had left. I can honestly say I’ve never even considered ordering a mini size blizzard before yesterday lol. Baby steps!

My biggest goal I would like to accomplish (outside of weight loss) is my evening snacking. I’m trying to focus on not eating after 8pm.... I can do great all day but after the kids are in bed I raid the fridge and cabinets sometimes adding 300-400 calories/day.

04/28 - 183.8 lbs - I logged my foods yesterday. I drank about 80 oz of water too.
04/29 - 182.4 lbs - I logged my food. I drank about 64 oz of water and got on the elliptical for 1 hr.
04/30 - 181.6 lbs - Another successful day logging foods. 20 minutes walk, 40 min elliptical. No snacking!
05/01 - 181.6 lbs -I walked 4 miles and logged foods. Went over on calories. Had a steak with the fixings.

Hi There!! I'm Tisha...about 3.5 years ago I started with MFP to get some weight off, 45 kind of hit me hard. One of the tools I used at that time was this here "give me 10 days" thread which I started posting on in probably round 2 or 3, it really helped. I lost 40 lbs and was probably in the best shape I've ever been in...and then life hit the fan (Dad got sick, knee injury, a few other life changes) and over the last 2 years I've managed to put back on 38 of the 40lbs I lost. Yesterday I woke up and said to myself enough is enough, you did this once before you can do it again, and I logged back into MFP!! This morning I checked to see if this thread was still active and low and behold all of you daily loggers are keeping it going!! So I'm back!!!

It was National Oatmeal Cookie day so of course I had to taste test our celebratory baking LOL...but I made really good breakfast and Lunch choices so I could splurge a bit on dinner and cookies.
05/02: 180.8 - BLEH! Not nearly enough water and a salty dinner yesterday...but I did take the dog for an awesome hike.

5/1 161.0 lbs. I know this number will creep up all weekend as again, I snacked all day with the grandkids, sort of boredom snacked during naps, it's hard to do much else at someone else's house. My DIL doesn't like people doing stuff to help out, very independent, I could wash dishes but not much else. Lot's of chasing the 23 month old and 7 month old but not much steps really. Lots of reading to them. Grateful for the opportunity but it's good to be home and get back on track. Going grocery shopping with the ladies today.

05/01 174.2 GAaaaah!!!! I’m so horrified by this gain... yesterday I had pizza for dinner, grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. But I worked out with my kids in the evening. It’s scary to think about increased risk for getting sick with loosening restrictions. Mixed emotions. For some reason feeling encouraged today. Yoga 30 min. Jazzercise 20 min. Diet was not good quality. If anyone reads this and has any tips about how to become a morning exerciser before work let me know. I think it would really help me schedule wise, but I’ve never been able to drag myself out of bed early to do it.

Thai food yesterday. 🌶 I stayed away from the caloric curries, but even so, lots of sodium in stir fry. Overall calories were in line, though, so whatever. I launched my “new” business yesterday — actually long-time business teaching writing classes, workshops, mentees, but now online and on my own, not through the university or school system. 📚✍🏼👩💻Wish me luck! Gorgeous weather! I’m planning a couple of walks (one at a nearby park to see the wildflowers) and at least an hour in the garden. I have to do some baking and delivery over the next few days — our Unitarian-Universalist congregation) is doing a “thinking of and missing you” thingy for staff and members who are home alone through all this. I have four, so bread in the oven for our piano guy. I guess I’ll do one a day unless I resort to a big batch of cookies or a couple of quick breads. I think it’s a lovely way to reach out and “hug” at a distance. Have a lovely Saturday!

As much as my 2 week plateau bothered me, I knew I was doing the work and there was nothing more I could do. Now I’m still doing the work but my mindset feels different. Oh well, I will just keep grinding away at this 1.2 so that I can start moving forward again. The path of weight loss is never smooth...

5/1-157-Lots going on. Too much comfort food and not enough walking. I’ve been weed eating and cleaning up around our new house. There is a lot of chunks of concrete and plaster that I want to throw in the dump trailer before it leaves. I also want to get as much as I can done, before the movers show up with all of the boxes so I can stay inside and unpack. Hoping for a final inspection today.

But when I got on the scale this morning it said 109.0 - I haven’t been that light since I was 4’6” in 5th grade! - I knew that was wrong. I got on 3 times and finally got a reasonable weight. May be time for a new battery! TWC app says we hit 100 in our area yesterday but the official temp fell short of the record. Another chance today - it was 82 at 7:30 this morning but it’s cloudy now.

To stay motivated, I need to celebrate the fact I stopped the downward spiral, and be happy with each pound I lose even if it's the second time around. I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us. *One of my major goals is to get my BMI under 40 (260 weight) so I can have surgery on my knees *

@quiltingjaine - During this stay at home I have only been to a Walmart once and I got into it with the stock boy. This was before we had to wear mask. I was wearing a mask already. It just made sense. I was wearing a homemade scarf mask (bandanna like mask). I had tried ordering on line from WM but they were not doing it in our area. I just stayed calmed and pulled out my phone and ask was it going to be necessary to call the manager and he moved. This month I am giving instacart.com a try -- which does not include WM. Many at my congregation are using it. I had already feared going to WM because I knew people would not be right. I was doing the smaller stores for safety. More pricey, but safer. I love Zoom. My congregation and WW use Zoom for programs and meetings. I went to a tea party and a memorial service on Zoom. When you say your daughter remarried. Did she remarry because she had divorced her husband? I have friends who had did that or just had another ceremony to celebrate their love and/or anniversary. Just curious. I am always intrigued with ones who divorce and remarry. The one couple who did that is doing quit well the 2nd time around! It has been over 5 years I know.

@MurphmomSparkles - I used to exercise in the mornings for many years. The key to morning workouts is you have to get to bed on time. Otherwise you will never be able to pull away for the bed. Once you get into the habit of going to bed early and getting up early it will become a habit and your body will get used to it. But it takes discipline to hit the sack on time. Wish you the best!! 5

05/01–174—I figured yesterday’s uptick was salt and expected a drop, but am SO thankful for it. I did hit my water goal yesterday, which I haven’t been doing consistently for months. Yesterday doesn’t make it consistent, but it’s a start back in the right direction. Did well with food choices too. I’m slightly encouraged by the feeling that, for one day at least, I was able to be back in control of what I put in my freaking mouth!
05/02–173.4—Got in all my water yesterday, did well with food, and also got in two miles of walking after dinner. Steps: 11,206. Yesterday felt good, and a comment that @quiltingjaine made was dead on—One Day at a Time. I think it’s clear that I’m a food addict and have been my whole life, really. I’ve had a relapse over the last 8-10 months, but it’s time to give up those bad habits again and make new ones like I had done before. I did it once. I can do it again.

@UTMom81- Yes you can do it again!! I am a foodie also and a former binge eater. Good job on not regaining all of your weight back. That means you are doing something right. I agree the quarantine is not kind at all. But we can overcome it. It is just going to be harder than it already is.

04/27: 140 (+.4) Lol. Burned 850 calories doing a 3 hour bike ride and I gain weight? Maybe just working through the 3 liters of water and electrolytes I drank. Had pasta for dinner and some margaritas but don’t think it was over calories. The body is truly just a chemical reaction.
04/28 (138.8 (-.2) Got a nice walk in yesterday. – rest day from the bike. Added some core and strength.
04/29 (138.6) (-.2) Ate ok yesterday and did a nice ride.
04/30 (138.6) (0) Never believe it when it doesn’t change. Scale is lazy on some days. Aren’t we all. Had a great salad for dinner. Heading out for a walk in this gorgeous weather.

05/01: 232.0 (-1.2)/19.8 (-0.1). Hi everybody. I've missed you all, and this place. I've been trying to dip my toe back into the idea of getting myself healthy again, with little success. It's frustrating to have gotten (again) so close to my all-time highest weight. Every time this happens (my relapse), I initially (for a while, actually) beat myself up for getting into this place again. It's easy to forget how stressful life is right now for just about everyone, and how it might be a decent idea to give myself a break. Especially when I look in the mirror. I've been tracking my food successfully now for a few days, but not being able to go to the gym or play basketball has significantly inhibited my ability to perform enjoyable exercise activities. I bought some home gym equipment (rowing machine and sliding gravity weight-lifting machine) at the beginning of COVID-19 lockdown, but my motivation to use it has been sporadic.
05/02: 230.8 (-1.2)/19.7 (-0.1). Six days in, 7.6 lbs and 0.9 BF% down. I still don't think this is sustainable (check that... I KNOW this is not sustainable), but already my massive gut (from 4/26) is looking better. I know that it will be harder to notice a difference later, so I'm appreciative of this moment, where things are moving fast and it's easy to see. I've been doing really well at staying within my calorie goal each day, even with "splurges." Last night I had a beer with dinner, but I planned on that earlier in the day by reducing my snack intake. It's early, and there will still be ups and downs, but being here works (community support and friendship). Counting calories works. There's simply no reason for me NOT to be here. I like being here. AND I love all of you for being here, too. I'm going to work on integrating some exercise into my daily life at home.
