This one is SO good! We make it at least once every few weeks.

    Slow Cooker Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

    Serves 8

    Ingredients:
    - 2 tablespoons olive oil
    - 2 pounds pork tenderloin
    - 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
    - 1 cup chicken broth
    - 1/4 cup brown sugar
    - 4 cloves garlic, chopped
    - 3 fresh red chile pepper, finely chopped (I leave these out because we don't like heat, and I've never been able to find them anyway.)
    - 1/2 large onion, sliced
    - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

    Directions
    1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown tenderloins on all sides, about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, mix together teriyaki sauce, chicken broth, and brown sugar in a bowl. Stir in garlic, red chile pepper, onion, and black pepper.

    2. Put browned tenderloins into slow cooker, cover with the teriyaki sauce mixture. Cook on High for about 4 hours, turning 2 to 3 times during the cooking time to ensure even doneness.

    3. Remove tenderloins from the slow cooker and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. If desired, spoon liquid over slices when serving.

I got this recipe from www.allrecipes.com. It's my favorite recipe site.

This looks like something I'll actually make! Thank you! I shy away from a lot of crock pot recipes because it seems they all call for canned soups and such which I don't use anymore. I want to cook with real ingredients, kwim?

    BuMp!!!
  • Great thread: I no longer have a crock pot, but these recipes would work so well for slow cooking at a low temperature in the oven, too! And I can vouch for the pork teriyaki recipe as I've cooked it, too.

may I ask what wing sauce is? do you mean like what you would dip it in blue cheese?
There are different brands, but it is the "red/orange" sauce. You can find it near the bar-b-q sauces.

Here is a recipe I got from Taste of Home's Healthy Cooking:

CORN AND BROCCOLI IN CHEESE SAUCE

1 package (16 oz) frozen corn, thawed
1 package (16 oz) frozen broccoli florets, thawed
4 oz reduced fat Velveeta cheese, cubed
    1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (10 1/4 oz) reduced fat, reduced sodium condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
    1/4 cup fat free milk

Combine the corn, broccoli and cheeses in the crock pot.
In a small bowl, combine the soup and milk; pour over vegetable mixture.
Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until heated through. Stir before serving.

  • SLOW COOKER PEPPER STEAK

    Ingredients
    • 2 pounds LEAN beef sirloin, pre-cut into 2 inch strips
    • garlic powder to taste
    • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil (could do olive oil as well)
    • 1 cube beef bouillon
    • 1/4 cup hot water
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
    • 1/2 cup chopped (or sliced) onion
    • 2 large green bell peppers, sliced into strips
    • 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes, with liquid
    • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium would cut the salt)
    • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (low sodium would cut the salt)
    • 1 teaspoon white sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt (Optional)

    Directions
    1. Sprinkle strips of sirloin with garlic powder to taste. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the vegetable oil and brown the seasoned beef strips. Transfer to a slow cooker.
    2. Mix bouillon cube with hot water until dissolved, then mix in cornstarch until dissolved. Pour into the slow cooker with meat. Stir in minced gar, stewed tomatoes, soy sauce, sugar, and salt.
    3. Cover, and cook on High for 3 to 4 hours, or on Low for 6 to 8 hours. I like this best on low.
    4. Add the green peppers and onions for the last 1-1/2 hours.
    5. Enjoy over rice or noodles or even mashed potatoes!
