06/05 …..209.2….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
06/06 …..209.2 ….. No planned exercise yesterday on a very busy day. Stuck to eating plan but the snacks were the unauthorized kind. Babysitting my 1 yr old grandson today. I would like some outdoor fun but a bear was in the yard yesterday. A little nervous about that!
06/07 …..209.2 ….. I can do better!
06/08 …..211.0 ….. In a horrid work rush all day I skipped lunch and dinner and then filled up on Junk thinking it would even itself out. What in the Sam Heck was I thinking????? Today will be even busier but I must be more prepared!
06/09 …..211.0 ….. Food was on point but exercise was lacking. Very low water intake due to “busy, busy. Where did the time go?” with my home business. So many details but just not enough steady active movement. I am traveling today which will help escape the weather that is forcasted to be in the 90s. No AC (rare in this area to have AC due to weak electricity in old buildings) so my car will be cool and the stores in the city will have AC, thank Goodness! I will be hauling back a TON of supplies for current projects (Home Depot, here I come!) Stay safe & stay cool today everyone!
06/10 …..211.0 ….. Well, that makes me a little nervous but I guess I should be pleased. During the travels yesterday, I ate twice at restaurants. I did try to keep it very reasonable and stick to good choices. One choice, however, was Chinese food with my travel partner. I stuck to a better-than-usual selection but usually I retain more water. We shall see in the coming 2-3 days if the scale wreaks havoc with an after-shock.

Day/Weight/Comment
06/06 134.8 – 10.36 miles walked yesterday. So lucky to stay at this weight this morning; had a bad day yesterday, gave up logging by tea time when I had reached 2838 calories consumed. Sorry to have to say this (yet) again, but why do I self destruct?? I know what it does to me, but in truth I am a food addict & once I get into a feeding frenzy I can't stop. (Sigh) I am so disappointed with myself on these days. I'm going to try this 10 day to be at/under calories every day. I mean it's just 10 days and as it is fastly approachung tea time now, then day 1 is almost done!! I need to be strong/sensible.
06/07 134.8 – 9.33 miles walked yesterday, 664 calories in credit and all macros well in green. A much better day yesterday; in control . What I have noticed is that even a few pounds make a difference to my resting heart rate? When at goal it's usually around 46 bpm, a few pounds on and it creeps up to 47, 48, when I get to 135 ish pounds its up to 50 bpm, that in turn pushes my heart rate up when walking, which I tend to do at/just under 4 miles per hour, I can feel that difference in my breathing whilst walking too !! Just an observation.
06/08 134.8 – 9.1 miles walked yesterday. 571 calories in credit, all macros in green.
06/09 134.8 - 11.73 miles walked yesterday, 407 calories in credit, but 4g fat over.
06/10 132.8 – wow!! got on the scales 3 times to make sure not a false reading! Would be happy to keep this to the end of the round (would be happy with half this loss!), but have to be realistic & expect normal fluctuations. 8.38 miles walked yesterday, 667 calories in credit, all macros in credit.
06/11 132.8 managed to hold on to this ! - 9.66 miles walked yesterday – 483 calories in credit, fat 5g over.

06/06: 152.6 - Got a new phone, so fell behind on posting. Mexican food, ice cream, peanut butter & jam with a spoon. Clearly out of control. Fitbit says 4,891 (2.41 miles).
06/07: DNW - Started out well, until roommate smiled and said she'd brought me more ice-cream. Fought the thought for a hour until I caved. Phenomenon of craving is in full swing. Praying for willingness.
06/08: DNW - Let go of the idea that I can rely on my will power. And go figure, cravings left me! I'll forget again soon enough, but with y'all's help, I'm remembering quicker. Fitbit says 9,194 steps (4.01 miles).
06/09: 151.8 - Another good day. Mind not as troubled as last week. Still staying too busy, but eating, sleeping, chilling, enjoying better. And waddaya know... resting heart rate starting to slowly go down again at a steady 67 instead of the jump to 69/70. Usual is in the low 60s. I feel this marker tells the full story. Fitbit says 3,559 steps (1.55 miles). K, it was raining all day, but that's still just a excuse.
06/10: 150.8 - eggs for breakfast, roommate suggested I "look in the freezer". The doll brought me the Peanut Buster Parfait I'd been craving since the weekend, but had so far avoided. First sugar in several days, but totally worth it. Spoonful of peanut butter before bed. No additional cravings so far. Fitbit says 10,117 steps (4.41 miles).

06/06 - 231 - nice start. Cheat meal tonight I literally cant wait. Also started walking the stairs at work, it's over 200 steps so a bit of additional exercise, it sure makes me sweat lol
06/07 - 233 - well theres cheat meal showing but I enjoyed my takeaway so now back on for a good result by the end of the round
06/08 - 231.75 - I'm happy with that. TOM due so a bit of bloating. Ready for a good week ahead. Let's do this
06/09 - 231.75 - no change. I am disappointed with this but I really shouldn't be because yesterday wasn't the best of days I did slip up and have too many treats so really this ok
06/10 - 231.5 - well at least it was the slightest of movements lol. Keeping my head up and keeping going. I will make it a loss by the end of the round lol
06/11 - 231.5 - I know this is only water weight so I'm ok with this. give it a couple days and hopefully it'll drop. Still holding out for that loss by the end of the round.

Round 115: maintained... not that I actually meant to!
CW as of 6/5: 215
Goal for this round: 212
Round 116
06/06 215
06/07 216Well .... at least I know my scales aren’t broken.... hormones this time, I think and a massive lack of water 💦 ... getting back on it today....
06/08 215.75It's heading in the right direction! Hitting the H2O big style and continuing the intermittent fasting. Seem to be naturally working my way up from 16:8 to 18:6. Again I can see body composition changes instead of scale changes.... hoping the scale will kick in properly soon. It's all a learning curve
06/09 214.25Take that scales! 🥳 Finally!! The last couple of days I've been tweaking the carbs, keeping to about 70-80g carbs and lots of fibre with as much water as I can guzzle without going sploosh.
Interestingly, I've also tried to up my calorie intake as well. With IF, I have struggled to get above 1100 cals in a 2 meals with optional snack. So I've started trying to hit a minimum of 1200 more often.
I've also started breaking my fast with a vegan based protein shake with some added bits and bobs, followed by a solid meal. I've upped my steps and started doing more stretching to loosen up the joints and muscles.
I guess I'm throwing everything at it to try and get the scales to budge, so now I'll just track these for a bit to see if the downward trend continues.....
06/10 213.5Super happy to be consolidating the drop and hopefully seeing some momentum . Yesterday I actually struggled to keep to my cals, but I walked more to compensate. Then I tried a new ab workout on YouTube and every other move made me issue a bunch of expletives no one needs to hear! Safe to say, I'm glad I tried, but it just wasn't my thing. I have found some alternatives though, so all is not lost. But wow my abs are weak right now. Looking forward to making them stronger and hopefully improving my posture at the same time!
06/11 214.75
Well I guess I deserved that one. Yesterday was a struggle. I was sore from the ridiculous ab workout the day before and didn't do more than some stretching. I just about made a minimum water chug
Going through an emotional grind right now. My partner and I got together shortly before lockdown in the UK started and it's been a rollercoaster 4 months just trying to keep things going while not seeing each other. It's difficult to see a way forward and it's been brewing this last week about whether we can sustain it or not.
I'm in awe of anyone who has family deployed abroad or can't see their loved ones as part of normal life - that's without a virus on top! You guys rock!
My eating wasn't bad but it could have been better. I ordered in from a local restaurant, and while I kept to grilled chicken and fish with some lentils, it probably had a small mountain of salt in it Normally I would be heading for something more comforting, so I guess I'm learning more to deal with my emotions properly rather than eating them.
This morning I woke up too early after 3 hours sleep and so instead of wallowing, I put my workout gear on and walked a brisk 4 miles until my head felt clear. There may have been a few tears, but by the time anyone saw me, it could have been taken as sweat - so it's all good
Wishing you all a strong and positive day ahead! Let's do this!!

06/11 -193.3 (eh, too good to be true yesterday. I'm okay with that honestly. I overindulged in some cookies- and tracked it- for no good reason. Okay choices the rest of the day, decreased physical activity since it was hot and humid out.)

06/06 - 146.5 - We had a small family get together last night on our patio for my husband's birthday. We had Mexican food and watermelon margaritas. I expect it to really catch up with me tomorrow, but it was worth it. I'll just have to be really mindful for the remainder of this round.

Month/Day: Weight / Comment
06/06: 213.8 / I always weigh myself in the morning. Not bad for a Saturday morning. I have been known to have my discipline-wheels fall off on a Friday night. In fact, weekends in general are a problem for me.
06/07: 214.4
06/08: 214.8 / pretty minimal damage from the weekend. I just find it a lot easier to stick to the program during the work week. I was very active on Saturday and Sunday.
06/09: 215.4 / Not a bit surprising after yesterday’s office lunch at the Mexican Restaurant. We have not been able to go out for our weekly project management lunch meeting until now. So…. I may have had too much ‘chips and salsa,’ and my Pork Tenderloin Burrito with rice and beans on the side may have been high in fat and sodium. I thought my calorie goals were met for the day, so I supposed salt was the culprit, (Then I remembered my un-logged peanut butter pretzels.) This is why I am here. The examined life is a better life.

06/06 158.4 lbs Had a couple beers and some chips around the campfire, really put me over.
06/07 157.0lbs, rained not much exercise, practiced free motion quilting
06/08 158.8 lbs, farmers had to stop seeding for the rain, so the neighborhood crew got together like we did last winter for pizza and beer on Sunday evenings, so gain is expected.
06/09 156.2 lbs, Graduation this Saturday finally, so doing some staging and decorating. Expecting 30 mph sustained wind that day from the only direction my yard doesn't have many trees. But hoping we can mostly stay outside. I have a lot of last minute clean up out there due to living by a wild life refuge, we have lots of birds in our trees and they leave there presents everywhere, especially anywhere the dog is.
06/10 157. 6 lbs I didn't think that dramatic loss would stay. I should probably rethink my goal for this round because after all this house cleaning and food prep for graduation, I am taking a day off of the diet and sampling.
06/11 156.6 lbs Today is bar making for graduation and a trip to town with the gals to pick up sheet cake and buns. Potentially not a good day for a diet, but will try.

My goals for the round -- lose 2 pounds; continue to log food and post every day; focus on snacking control at night. Also, continue to log steps -- I decided on May 18 to walk a million steps before the end of July (70 days.) I am currently a full day off the pace due to a minor foot injury 10 days ago.

About me: I love learning about food and everything about it; from the way it acts in the body to learning to cook a new recipe. I went to school for nutrition (got my bachelor's) but I didn’t become an RD because it didn’t feel like the path for me. I guess I wanted to keep it as more of an interest instead of a career. I then went into public health to further my education and I currently help medically complex patients by connecting them with community resources to improve their health and life. I enjoy helping family and friends when they ask for advice related to food and nutrition. Plus, it helps me brush up on what I spent so much time learning!
I’m here because when I’m not paying attention to what I eat, I start to gain and feel uncomfortable in my body. For me that results in frustration and a lot of other emotions. It has also increased my cholesterol in the past (It’s good now as far as I know thanks to diet and exercise). I have a family history of diabetes, heart disease, and all that fun stuff. So, I want to prevent that for myself by getting a hold of my food habits now.
I’m always open to conversation about food and nutrition, so feel to reach out to me!
06/06 120.0 This makes sense because I did an intense workout yesterday and I have some soreness today. So, it’s just the water retention as my muscles heal.
I just made really yummy summer rolls with brown rice spring roll wrappers, cilantro, leftover ground turkey [seasoned with ginger, garlic, fish sauce, soy sauce and lime juice], yellow bell pepper, shredded cabbage and baby greens. Then, I dipped them in a peanut sauce I made with 1 tbs peanut butter, ½ tbs rice vinegar, 2-3 tsps coconut aminos, 1 tsp toasted sesame oil, dash of garlic powder, ¼ tsp honey and 1 tsp grated ginger (I used the frozen ginger cubes). I could legit just eat the sauce and be a happy camper but mixed with the summer rolls it was really good too.
I plan on having a bit of a rest day for my Saturday and just enjoy lounging around. I’ll eventually do some chores, but we’ll see how I feel about that. Happy weekend all!
06/07 119.2 Yesterday was a wonderful lazy day where I was able to stay on point with food as well. I lounged around but also created an Excel database of all the recipes I want to cook from my cookbooks. I’m trying to prepare for the Fruit and Veggie CSA that starts on Monday for us. I want to make sure nothing is wasted, so I wanted to have a source of all the recipes I’ve been wanting to make for a while. I’m very excited about the document and hope it helps me meal plan all this produce we’ll be getting.
My plan for today is to make a batch of raspberry beet baked oatmeal to use up some milk we have in the fridge. I haven’t tried this recipe yet, so it’ll be interesting to see how it comes out. Then, I’ll be able to have it for my breakfasts this week too.
Also, I had a non-scale victory of realizing how much my body has changed over the past few months when looking at before and after pictures. I’m down 7 pounds and I’m really starting to feel awesome about the progress I’ve made so far. My muscles are getting stronger and it’s so nice to visibly see the hard work put into the process. On that note, have a beautiful Sunday!
06/08 119.2 Yesterday was a good day food wise and I moved around a bit more doing laundry and chores. I decided to take the weekend off for intentional exercise because I was just feeling a little tired. I feel it’s better to listen to the body than push it and overdo it. This morning I did another solid soccer workout this morning with my father in law.
Today will be a good one food wise because I made that beet raspberry baked oatmeal, so that’ll be my breakfast with a halfish cup of skyrr and some maple syrup drizzled on top. Not sure what dinner will be… most likely something with the fresh produce we’re picking up later today 😊
06/09 119.2 We went for a great 5 mile walk this morning. I also squeezed in a mini body weight workout consisting of push ups and body weight squats. Last night’s dinner was really good. I made a strip steak that my husband and I split because it was 1 pound total. For sides I cooked some baby kale that we had and made some oven fries (using up some potatoes we’ve had for a bit). The CSA pick up was super exciting and I’ll have to find some recipes to use all of the greens we got. We got spinach, Ethiopian kale, sorrel, and baby lettuce. I’ve never cooked with sorrel or Ethiopian kale. The Ethiopian kale has a bit of a mustard/spicier/bitter kick to it. It’ll be fun to see how it comes out. Some other fruits and veggies we got were a cucumber, radishes, potatoes (purple and a white one), cherry tomatoes, strawberries, and apples. Eeeeek I’m so excited about all the produce! 😊
Non scale victory for yesterday was only eating 2/3 of an Everbar (dark chocolately wafer bar) because I felt satisfied and figured I could just save it for tomorrow. By mapping out my dinner calories I knew by eating the bar it was going to be close too, so that was also a motivating factor to stop eating it once I felt satisfied. So it left me with an extra 60 calories in the bank for my dinner.
Not sure what’s on the agenda for dinner tonight but maybe turkey tips?
06/10 119.2 My father in law and I did another killer soccer workout this morning. Lots of sprinting involved and high heart rate levels resulting in an awesome burn and a really good workout for my heart.
I had a half bottle of kombucha yesterday and the caffeine in it messed with my sleep last night, so I’m feeling pretty tired between the workout and funky sleep pattern. We’ll see how productive I am today because of it. Oh well, I’m just glad I had the oomph for the workout 😊.
I ended up making homemade mac and cheese last night for dinner because I had the calories in the bank and my husband just wanted pasta for dinner. It was so good and cheesy. I also put a little Frank’s Buffalo wing sauce on top and that made it even better! Then I rounded it out with a small salad after with some fresh spinach, tomato and cucumber.
Tonight will be the turkey tips with BBQ sauce and a side of greens and the purple potatoes from our CSA. Have a good day everyone!
06/11 119.2 I will happily take this stall because it makes me realize I can have my body stay at a point where I’m happy with it. We have also been running a lot more which in the beginning can cause a bit of water retention. So, maybe I’ll get a little bit of a whoosh soon?
We went for a nice 4ish mile walk this morning and I did a mini bodyweight workout prior. Solid start so far. The turkey tips were good last night with Stubbs bbq sauce on them. 😊 Not sure what’s on the menu for tonight, I don’t know what I’m even in the mood for. I do need to use the sorrel that we got but I’m still not sure what to do with it. I found a chimichurri sauce that looks interesting, so I might try that. Have a good day!

06/10 – 134.8 – This has gone too far and I am finally going to do something about it. I have been logging in to MFP, but haven’t been using it to track anything. I haven’t been consistent in weighing and honestly, I cringe when I do, but I haven’t cared enough to do anything. I am up 10 full pounds since January 1st and seeing the pattern on my weight chart for the past 6 months has got me motivated! Working from home in the kitchen, baking with my daughters, stress and boredom eating, etc have all given me excuses to not care. My birthday is on June 29th and I would like to be back below 130 by then, so starting today I am back at it. I know it won’t be easy getting back in the routine, especially because nothing is routine still. And it won’t be perfect because there are birthday parties and other things coming up where I will treat myself. But today I am taking the first step to starting again.

I’m taking a round of cephalexin and feel puffy. Water retention isn’t listed as a side effect, but something is causing this. Phooey. Anyway, I’m off for a walk on the rivergreenway and have an afternoon of garden work planned. One of these days I’ll have a breakthrough. I’m a bit depressed and disgusted with myself about this and the news. Maybe the river and trees will help. Have a good Saturday.
6/07 - 185
Seriously waterlogged. Calories were fine, though, so I know it’s just water. It’s a gorgeous day here so I’m off to walk along the river again. Increasing daily distance to get back to my old 5-10 miles/day.
6/08 - 183.2
Okay, finished the antibiotics and I feel less bloated. All good.
6/09 - 183.2
Calories low yesterday. I baked a cake and brownies to give away and didn’t sample at all — yay me! It’s supposed to get hot this afternoon, so I’m off for a walk on the rivergreenway and then picking up mulch to finish my new beds. Also plotting another....Left to my own devices, the whole backyard would be flower and herb beds with a few veggies here and there.

Not a great number but at least it’s moving in the right direction. I’m going for a walk and then hope to spend the rest of the day in the garden, moving a few things, planting the last few, yanking a couple....So good for the spirit.
6/11 - 181.8
Finally, some progress! We have a very low-calorie day planned — DH brought home shrimp. Yum! Off for a walk, then lots of weeding and dead-heading. I might even do a little writing (my actual work!). Have a lovely day, all!

Round 115 SW 199.6 EW 192
Went off the wagon over quarenteen, but started logging again during round 115. My goal this round is to get back in the 180's. No alcohol this month and at least 20,000 steps a day!!
Day/Weight/Comment
06/06 191.6 Walked 20,000 steps yesterday. Stuck to food plan. Ate 2 meals between 12:00 and 7:00. No snacking!
06/07 191.2 Walked 25,000 steps yesterday. Stuck to food plan. I woke up early today so I can walk before it gets too hot. Plan on another 25,000 steps today and continuing 2 meals of salad greens with protien, and healthy fats, no alcohol and eating window between noon and 7 pm. Lots of water!! It feels good to be back in control.
06/08 191.6 Walked 21,000 steps yesterday and stuck to plan. I think this uptick is my body adjusting to the large weight loss last week. I'm going to just keep on keeping on. It's suppposed to storm today and tomorrow, so I will be doing more weight work the next few days.
06/09 191.8 Grr.... I walked for 1.5 hours straight briskly in the morning and painted a closet the rest of the day. I had 2 meals a day consisting of greens with protien and healthy fats. No snacking, no alcohol. My whole body is sore, so I am hoping that my muscles are retaining some water and I will see a drop tomorrow. I plan on drinking a ton of water today. Walked more than 20,000 steps yesterday.
06/10 191.4 Trying not to get discouraged, because I am working so hard, and not seeing results on the scale. I can tell that my stomach is flatter and my body is firmer from all of the exercise. Hoping to get a whoosh before the end of this round. Yesterday I walked 17,000 steps and ate within plan.
06/11 DNW My scale broke into thousands of pieces yesterday...no, I didn't break it on purpose. My new scale will be arriving later today. Yesterday I walked 25,000 steps and stuck to plan. I did drink 1 Truly last night. Hoping when I weigh tomorrow I will see a loss.

I need to stop the mindless eating! This Stay at Home order really got to me.
It took the sight of a HUGE humming metal container (holding the dead), with funeral parlor workers (building caskets in the yard) .... (can you imagine that?) .... to quickly help me regain control over my mouth and movement.
I still slip up (because who's perfect?), but have all KINDS of new apps on my phone, lol ~ and all kinds of new plans for my life.
That container (which is still there btw) reminds me of one of life's golden rules: if you want something bad enough, you'll do what needs to be done.
Be encouraged my friends. We can ALL do this.5 -

06/07 182.4 Whoohoo! A big whoosh down. Won’t count on keeping all of it, part of it is stomach upset yesterday having me eat less, but gratifying to see. Because this has worked so far, I bit the bullet and established my next mini-goal. Really debated on how large or small to set it; decided on a number that represents my weight when I first met my husband 12 years ago. Wish me luck!
06/08 184.0 I didn’t expect to keep all that whoosh, but no good reason to pop up so high. Was green on calories, lots of activity. Maybe dinner was higher sodium than I thought. But I finished the weekend below 185!
06/09 183.2 I’ll take it. Stayed green, got 2 walks in as well as strength training.
06/10 182.4 I’ve been working hard for this, eating green and drinking water. Happy to see this number again and a Happy Scale average of under 183.
06/11 182.0 So happy to be on a losing trend. I want to ride this train as long as I can before I end up on another plateau. I don’t feel like my habits are hugely different right now (eat green, exercise) just my body is cooperating by yielding results.
