Weigh-in day and I was hoping for more on the scale, so instead I will focus on non-scale stuff.
June 3: 236.4Lb
June 10: 237.8lbs (+1.4)
This one hurts since I have been diligently logging, and things seem to indicate I am on the right track. But the scale just seems to like 237. I have been stuck at this weight since April 29th
But on a plus side. I feel like I am getting stronger and I have started back running again.
Ok, I wallowed and now I am over it. On to a better week.
hope everyone has a good week!

It's good to have you back @GroverBlue78. Eventually the scale will give you the weight you deserve. It just sometimes takes 2 weeks or so.4
-
@GroverBlue78 Cool! I miss running.
@Erica122093 It isn’t bad to weigh every day and the statistics show it is helpful to weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight but for some it isn’t helpful. It is how you deal with it. I weigh daily. If I am not I am probably not logging food or anything else healthy but I get mad at it too.
@aliciap0116 Yes me too. I lost late May but have been doing the same. However I have maintained a healthy deficit.
So got some exercise again today which is my focus to start to exercise daily. I have been logging, eating at a deficit, drinking water, getting sleep, the scale is down but just can’t seem to lose.5 -
Morning all, people are looking good out there! Once again I left it too long to do individual replies.
I'm flying back to australia today (from London), 23 hour flight plus airport time so I'll lose my streak again, but once I get there I'll be in enforced quarantine (can't leave the hotel room for 14 days) so I should have plenty of time to catch up with everything. See you on the flipside!9 -
Third day since Sunday I've hit over 10,000 steps at work! Getting excited about this! I'm finding myself purposefully taking more steps while I'm working. Feeling energized these last couple of days. Even Tuesday night at work was kinda slow, and I still got over 8,000 steps in that day. I used to think 10,000 steps was difficult to achieve. Now I'm starting to aim for it. *happy dance*10

Well done! Lovely feeling to be getting fitter.2

Hi! I’m new to MFP but definitely not new to attempted weight loss. I’m 40 and trying to lose 90lbs and then keep it off. I haven’t made it past losing 40 pounds and haven’t been able to keep that off. So, I’m starting again. My knees are shot (bad genes & extra weight); I’ve already had procedures on both and the next step would be replacements. Not up for that yet! SW 238, CW 234.4, UGW 150 (I think... have no idea what that would look like on me, so who knows for sure).🤷🏻♀️
I see this says “post reply,” so I’m thinking I’m not doing this right, but I haven’t been able to figure out how to post my own comment in a community group. I only see the reply option. Sorry 😐5 -

You did fine! You've got this! This group is very supportive, and the more you post about your successes and struggles, the more it helps (imo)!
Welcome.
While I'm here: @BrownSugar174 looking gooooooood3 -
I think I just figured it out, I found that I have to “join” in the groups section in the community sector.🤪 And thank you!0

I just found this group, super excited about it. I'm incredibly frustrated right now. I'm on week 2 of serious diet and working out and doing IF. I lost 6 lb week 1 and I'm up 2 lb today. Anyone have these kinds of struggles where you're doing everything right and the scale says "nope!!! Not today satan!!"

So the first week of a diet and exercise change, it's easy to see some water weight reduction. Don't be bummed if your scale weight fluctuates for just a little while- if you're in a deficit, you will lose weight! Just stick with it, try to find patterns of water weight with your sodium intake, sleep, stress, and cycle. All those things (and sometimes others!) can affect how much water you're carrying. I read a trivia fact once that your body can hold as much as 13 lbs of water at any given time.
So don't worry, keep working. You've got this!2 -
@Terytha You look beautiful, slim and trim, more importantly, do you feel fantastic? I would wear it!2
-
@Brownsugar0120 Wow great ride! You look amazing! I feel so inspired when ladies put up before, during, and after shots! Happiest of birthdays to you!! You look so much younger than 52!!1

Good morning all! My day started off a bit rough, left the house late and didn't have time to grab anything for breakfast so I'm hoping to make it till lunch without gnawing my arm off. I've had a decent week so I'm hopeful about my Friday morning weigh-in. We'll see how it goes. 🤞 My biggest problem this week has been that my husband has wanted to eat out all week long. He works in the heat so coming home and letting me heat up the house with our oven isn't ideal when it gets really hot.
I love seeing all of your posts - this group is so positive and welcoming. I love it!4 -
I am so happy there is a group for over 200 lb ladies. I've known about MFP for a long time, but just recently started using the social networking part. It has really been helpful.
I am 64 years old. I am a mother of five and grandmother.
Highest weight 220 pounds.
currently 211 pounds.
Here are my June goals.
*log everyday
*eat close to calorie goal for 10 days in row
(Then have a fabulous cheat day with roast beef, mashed potatoes, etc)
*Then back to logging and eating close to calorie goal for 11 days in a row.
*Go for a walk every day
on a personal level I want to complete the painting I just bought the canvas for! It will be a multicultural celebration of motherhood.

Hey everyone. My name is Chasity. I have been on and off this weight loss journey for a very long time with a lot of ups and downs. In 2014 I was at my highest weight ever 310. Not liking myself feeling down and just flat out ugly. I am currently now at 205. I had a gastric sleeve at the end of 2014. I really want to get down to a healthier weight. But my motivation is horrible. I don’t like exercise but have been adding little bits in my day. I finally got back on my healthy eating yesterday and hoping I can stick to it. I just have no energy at all or motivation. If you all could give me tips. What will help my energy and motivation and even choice foods. Thanks everyone. You are all amazing and beautiful. you got this journey we can do this.7
-
Welcome @chasity_08! I will confess that I hate exercising. It's one of the hardest parts of my weight loss journey. What I've recently started doing to make sure I get in 30 minutes of movement every day is that as soon as my husband goes in to take his shower, I pull up a youtube video of some sort - 30 minutes. I figure if I can watch a half hour long TV program, I can do 30 minutes of exercise. To add extra on top of that, I'll walk in place while doing dishes or folding laundry. Instead of putting the dog into the backyard to go to the bathroom, I take him around the block 2x a day. When I go shopping, I park at the back of the lot. Just things that are helping me out so far....9
-
@KristenLCook2 thank you so much. I will for sure start some of this!!1
-
Today's plan is 2500 calories.
But the week has been as low as I could safely be, and it's my anniversary so I deserve cake and wine! We spent 2 hours walking around the zoo, I got 10,000 steps in and got roared at by a lion. It absolutely floors me that a living creature can produce a sound like that. Jeez.
I'm really grateful to have spent 9 years married to the love of my life and that enough stuff opened for us to go have some fun today.
Thank you for the comments on my outfit. I actually bought that shirt when I was 18 for a date, but I ended up not having the courage to wear it. It's very cool to me that it fits again and I'll have a chance to actually wear it out. Also turns out my taste in clothes leans to goth, lol.14 -
@MuttiNM You are an inspiration to me for sure! If my calculations are correct you have lost almost 200 pounds! And you can hike! The reason I go like a mad woman when I bike is because I have osteoarthritis in my right hip and I can’t take long walks anymore. I’m trying to loose as much weight as I can to relieve the pain which has been close to nil so far. I’m so very proud of you!5
-
Have a great trip @orangequilt . Stay safe and take care.
@River314 That is great to get those steps at work. Makes me wonder about what kind of work you do. I have a desk job and don’t get that many steps in but I got some stairs. Now I am at home.
@hbrookens click on the star at the top of the thread page and it turns yellow so you favorite this and then you will see when someone posts and find the group in your favorites/bookmarks (it is the star next to the notifications bell at the top of the page). Technically this isn’t a MFP Group but a thread that functions like a group. I too haven’t been able to get past 40 lbs and I gained that back. It was because I went back to work with a commute and didn’t adjust down my calories since I wasn’t exercising as much. It took me a while to stop the gain and slowly turn it around then this fall I gained back all I had lost! I have relost that and have lost more up to 15 lbs. I lost by exercising a lot including running and some weight training but aquafit was my base exercise. I now too have knee issues. And the Y is closed. @CupcakeCruesoe is right about this group. For a while one of the goals I listed was to come here often and post. Welcome and you and I are going to get beyond 40 lbs. Welcome!
@letsgoliss yep I just got most of those 2 lbs off this week instead of making progress.
@KristenLCook I found eating at home was one of the biggest factors in weight loss for me and the hardest before stay at home order. It felt like we had to choose between getting exercise or dinner at home. Yes I did do some cooking ahead and crockpot meals but when you both work fulltime it is hard if you want a life.
@katandjak this group has been helpful to me. Welcome.
@chastity_08 great progress! Motivation is great when it is there but it isn’t reliable. What is more reliable is establishing healthier habits and routines. A lot of us post a list of goals/habits/areas to focus on for the week and or month. I am sure you have found that taking 1-3 steps at a time that are achievable works better. Water and sleep are the base of everything else for me. I am on furlough so I have been able to focus on cooking at home and that has helped me. I am struggling with exercise too because I used to do water aerobics but can’t now. That is this week’s focus for me.
@Terytha Happy Anniversary!! I am impressed how you planned to be able to have more calories now. It isn’t the daily deficit it is the weekly deficit. My spreadsheet calculates that for me. Enjoy! 9 years!
Well today I am .2 lbs within my low of May. I have had a deficit every day and been good with water and sleep for months. I should be at least 3 pounds down more by now (1 more from May and 2 for June so far). I haven’t lost 10% of my weight yet so it shouldn’t be this hard.
My focus this week on exercise is not for weight loss. It is to get stronger and healthier. This week the goal is 30+ minutes a day with Sunday being a rest day. I started on Tuesday. I have had a hidden goal to get outside and some sun (15 minutes) each day. Remember I live in the Vitamin D deprived PNW. We had an unusually sunny spring but this week is cooler, cloudier with some sun breaks. Yesterday I was on my Gazelle and the sun came out so I went outside and exercised in the back yard. I do some of my weight training each week outside too and of course walks when we get those but they are usually later in the day.4 -

@BrownSugar174 Yeah, I'm closing in on 200. It doesn't seem real. I still have a long way to go, though. You are my biking & workout inspiration! I remember you posting pictures of some of your workouts at the gym. So impressive! I can only dream of someday getting to your level of fitness.7

So my weight in days are Thursday and I'm proud to say I lost 3.7lbs! I'm surprised at this as my back's been injuried and I had some bad days in the middle of my week where I didn't log and didn't reach my steps.

End of Summer GW: 230
Ultimate GW: 140
My June Goals
* 10,000 steps every day
* Workout atleast 10 minutes 5 days a week
* Spend more time outside with my kids
I went to the chiropractor Monday and Wednesday. My sciatica pain is finally gone but my back is still super sore. I didn't make my 10,000 step goal Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday because of my back/sciatic pain. I recommitted myself Wednesday. I haven't worked out other than walking this whole week and got to enjoy very little time with my kids so that is a bummer, but I'm optimistic for this next week to be better.
@Terytha You look fantastic! Seriously love that outfit on you!
@KristenLCook2 Here's hoping you made it to lunch without losing an arm. Is it possible to stop and get a granola bar from a gas station?
@katandjak Welcome! I would love to see the finished piece if you feel comfortable sharing when you're done.
@chasity_08 Welcome! I always find the key to my motivation is holding myself accountable to someone other than myself. I can deal with letting myself down, but I don't like to let others down. I lost 60lbs with MFP before nursing school (and then gained it all back plus some). I posted my fitness journey and my weekly weigh ins on my Facebook. I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea and some distant relatives accused me of posting to brag, but really I posted and shared my progress because it made my accountable for my entire facebook family. It was my alternative to having a fitness buddy. This time around I'm keeping it to myself but I'm posting in this group and sharing my progress with my husband.
@KeriA I totally understand your goal to get alittle sunlight every day. My husband pointed out to me that my mood is highly effected by the weather. When I get some sunlight I am a much happier person...I have to sunblock like crazy though because I'm about as pale as you can get, lol.7 -
I'm in the plateau part of my loss, staying at 263 with a few ounces up or down every morning. I stair-step, and had five pounds fall off in about three days last week, so I'm okay.
I've felt deeply rotten for the last couple days because of TOM. (I'm 48 for heaven's sake, can we just stop?!) and I'm really hoping that I feel better tomorrow, because I need to go grocery shopping, and that tries my patience at the best of times, let alone when I'm cramping and just want to bite. Fortunately today's meals were simple.
Found a company to move us, and the representative was very impressed with the packing I've done and the schematic showing where the furniture will go. Now we just have to wait for.... closing on this house, then closing on the new house, then five days, then we take possession of new house, on the 24th. At which point my sons and I get to paint the interior of the house, while a contractor puts a door back on the downstairs bedroom (they were using it as a study) and does a couple things, and then we move, hopefully the weekend of the fourth, or the weekend of the tenth if I can't get the painting done.
I'm really hoping I can do it the fourth because today is the 11th, and I am physically miserable, and I really don't want to have to move while coping with TOM. Really.6 -
Good morning everyone!
Got my yoga in this morning, weigh in is not bad, because TOM is over. I'm hoping for a little better weigh in this weekend (I weighed in at 186.6, which is not terrible- but still, I hit 186 end of last month!).
This is where my libra comes in handy so much. It feels like I'm going nowhere, but my trendline is going down.
6 -
When I got on the scale this morning, part of me wondered why I was even bothering, given the bloating and the cramping. And yet despite how rotten I feel, the scale shows no gain and no loss. Weird.
I may do the shopping today, and if I do the walking may help, but it will depend on the pain levels I have.7 -
*sigh...some days are a real struggle; just do the best you can do and then you can’t worry about whether it was enough.2
-
@CupcakeCrusoe I also feel like I'm going nowhere! This week I'm going up and I haven't done anything differently, wonder if its the wine I drank last week (3 glasses over a week) that's caught up? I like the idea of an app saying you on a downward trend!! I'm on day 89 almost 3 months, could I be plateauing? I will know for sure on Monday!
To the ladies who don't like exercise... I was there when I started, 89 days later ...I feel stronger, more alive, in tune with my body, I now get why people exercise, the feeling afterward is uplifting. I'm not doing anything fancy just online boosted walks and walking in my area, but I do it every day even if I don't feel like it, and I've just started with resistance bands, they're great! So do it anyway, its worth it!8
