Starting once again. Much harder at age 68. Being home during Covid19 doesn't help. Had a very nice bike to ride but it was stolen 2 weeks ago. Loved riding so a new bike is in the works.0

Good morning! Just had baby #3, and looking to get back to my wedding weight from 3 years ago (135). I’ve lost 33lbs post-baby, and have about 9lbs to go! Community really helps me stay on track. Posting pictures helps me with accountability, and looking at other people’s photos gives me inspiration! That’s why I’m here!2

Hello I'm Chique! I've been using this app for over a year now, but this is the first time I'm joining the community. So excited to learn from everyone.0

New here. Highest weight 176lbs. Current weight 169. Goal weight 140? I was petite (110lbs) with little effort growing up, but looking back realize I didn't eat much. Skipping breakfast and even lunch was more of a norm. I just wasn't hungry in mornings. Wondering if I really screwed up my metabolism by doing that!? Developed hoshimotos (autoimmune thyroid disease) in 2000, and ever since have fluctuated dramatically in weight. Past 4 years I really struggle to lose or get below 155 lbs. I've done many types of diets - Atkins, Keto, AIP, Paleo, Vegetarian...I'm trying to eat 3 meals a day but find that 1100 calories does not allow for consistent weight loss, even with being relatively active (I do have a bad back & sometimes have to take breaks from exercising). Right now, I'm trying to eat in a 10 hour window, following Keto more than anything (but chose fruits a 1-2 times a week + no gluten, no corn), 1100 daily calorie goal, and exercise 5xs a week (walk, bike, aerobic video 30-60 minutes). I'm 45 years old and going through menopause, so also working against nature and hormones a bit. The pic is the last one I truly liked of myself weight wise and that was 15 years ago. Using it to inspire consistency. I don't qualify for Rx weight loss pills and doctors/dietician have told me to eat more but if I can't lose weight with 1100 calories, I certaining don't want to increase it!!!
Anyway, I'm feeling inspired, ready for consistent effort, and hoping a community approach might help this time? Ever since I was diagnosed with hoshimotos, I don't have a positive relationship with food. It often feels like the enemy. I feel guilt when eating like a normal person, like my thin friends, like the average American. I hate the words "cheat" when referring to a day or meal, as it assumes I'm doing something wrong. I just want to get to my goal weight so I don't have to be so deliberate in what I eat, when I eat, all the time. I want to be/feel normal again!
Wishing anyone who reads this the best of luck on their journey ahead.0 -

New to MFP community. I'm a private person by nature, but am often inspired by other people's stories...so here I am.
I'm 5'4". Highest weight 176lbs. Current weight 169. Goal weight 140? or a weight I feel comfortable or like me in. Wondering if I really screwed up my metabolism by doing that!? Developed hoshimotos (autoimmune thyroid disease) in 2000, and ever since have fluctuated dramatically in weight. Before diagnosis gained 60 lbs without any change to lifestyle. Lost most of the weight 2 years after being put on thyroid medication + by eating meat again and limiting carbs, soy, sugar, and dairy. Past 4 years I have really struggled to lose or get below 155 lbs. I officially hit 40 in May... my goal was to lose 40 pounds before I hit 40, but that didn't happen. I hate not being able to really play around with my kids - running, jumping, all that good stuff. Telling them to eat healthy and have fun - while I am eating my umpteenth snack for the day on the couch. Been around, deleted accounts, created accounts, deleted, repeat the cycle. Actually have been here since around 2010...
Happy days are coming!1 -
Hello out there! Married mum of 2 trying to drop the rest of this weight from the pregnancies and medications I have had to take for a few years. Fit bits calorie counter isn't doing it for me and I have done Fitbit back before it was full of advertisements and paid pro versions. It worked well for me lost quite a bit of weight then got pregnant again. Oops haha So back for some support. Hope everyone is killin it out there!0

I gained 20 lbs during the last 2 years, so time to do something. I am trying out the 16-8 program. Eating no breakfast, lunch between 11 and 12 and dinner before it gets dark - between 5 & 6. But still have to keep track of food and calories. I started at 190 and hope when I way on Friday I will have come down. I do find I am not really hungry.3

Fasting really worked for me, still a ways to go but it works. I really like OMAD, the simplicity of it. Dunno might switch back to 18:6 after a while. I hope all goes well with your goals.1 -
Hi all, looking for fellow MFP contacts to add to keep me motivated and on track.
I want to lose 3 stone ideally by Christmas!
Please feel free to add me.0 -
Hello Everyone - I am new to this app and community. I am 54 years young and have been working out and exercising since I was 12. I was recently introduced to this app by a friend and I like being able to track my diet, exercises and steps.
In my youth I focused on body building seeking size, mass and definition. At one point I tipped the scales at 260 lbs. Then I learned from my doctor that while I had size and strength and looked in great shape my health really was not where it needed to be. My blood pressure was high and all my metabolic tests were off. I was unhealthy.
It was a wake up call to change my approach to fitness. Since then I have focused on a balanced exercise and fitness program, combining jogging, resistance training and martial arts. I workout 8 times per week over 5 days. Yes there a few “two-a-days” in there when I workout in the morning and train in martial arts in the evening. I live a very active lifestyle.
I lost all of the weight years ago and have consistently weighed 195 lbs at 13% body fat. I am in the best health of my life my blood pressure is maintained at 120/64 on average, my metabolics are in perfect ranges and my resting heart rate is 54 bpm.
Looking forward to hearing what others are doing and meeting folks with similar interest in fitness.

Hello! I've been on MFP for a bit but never joined the community. I'm quite introverted and was used to CalorieCount until My Fitness Pal acquired it. I'm here to be healthy. Ever since I reached my healthy point, I must find peace with my IBS, gluten and lactose intolerance as well as incapability to digest red meat. I'm a vegan, btw.1

Hello! My name is Heather, I'm 53 and currently live in Washington state. I have been approved to start the process that leads up to bariatric surgery, and this app was recommended to help me track my food over the next six months. I have to lose a minimum of 15lbs by December in order to have the surgery. 3 days in, and so far, so good. I need to lose about 200lbs overall. I don't want to be a Victoria's Secret model or anything; I just want to have less pain and be able to take walks and ride a bicycle again!4

I have lived on the 18:6 fasting program for the past 20 years. You definitely get used to it and it helps keep my weight right where I want it. I do have a cheat day each week on Saturday where breakfast is on the agenda. We also follow the Mediterranean diet. Eating fresh fruits, vegetables and proteins.1 -
Feel free to add me 💪🏾☺️2

Hiya, So yeah much like many others, I wish to tone myself up. Feel free to add or just stalk my page to help with motivation.0 -
Looks like I don’t have a master list of my posts and comments- it’ll be like water under a bridge.0

I'm not totally new - I've had an account before, but I'm pretty inconsistent when it comes to being mindful regarding food and exercise. I'm back on as I've lost 20 pounds since October (cutting out fast food mostly as well as limiting snacking), but have hit a plateau. I really need to start prioritizing exercise and eating meals that are both healthy and filling. Please feel free to add me! I find having friends on here holds me a little more accountable LOL.0

Hi Everyone, I started using this app some time ago but never stuck to it. Now I have decided to commit to it as each year the weight just creeps up a little bit further and I am fed up with it.
I am hoping being part of the community will provide me with inspiration and keep me accountable.0 -
