I've never joined a group on here before, but I would like to try it now. What can I say? I'm officially 37 today, and I am currently 330lbs. I have a desk job, which is now from home thanks to Covid 19, and a very bad emotional eating habit. My mom has a thing for this show called "My 600 pound life." Recently, I tried watching it with her and I realized I don't want to spend the rest of my life this way. So I'm trying to take the doctors advise in the show and try the 1,200 calorie a day route. I'm really hoping it works.3

I'm so happy for you that you are ready to make a change. We've all gone through that turning point, and it takes courage. My recommendation, although I am not a doctor or dietitian, is to drop your calorie levels gradually and add more movement into your day gradually, as well. I think you'll be more likely to stick with a program if you don't feel completely deprived and continue to feel satiated (both physically and mentally/emotionally). Choosing a calorie level that you will be able to stick with over time will make this easier, and I promise you will still see progress. Best of luck to you.5 -

Not a lot of scale movement this week, but I had a great non-scale victory this week: moving from the back of the shopping cart to the front of the shopping cart in the check out lane at Aldi without having to suck in my gut and barely squeeze through! This alone made the last 7 months of workouts worth the effort!
I did A LOT of intense aerobic workouts this week and a few of them with weights. My sister also finally convinced me to get down on the floor for some ab workouts. Boy is my tummy sore! But I guess that's how you know it's working, right??? I've been having a hard time fighting off cravings this week. I think I need to find some new healthy snacks (or resurrect some old favorites) to fight the monotony!
I wish you all the best for a week filled with healthy choices and a nice holiday weekend (if you're in/from the US and celebrating the 4th)!1 -

First off I want to catch up on my welcomes to:

Jennifersusan ( remember, men have a higher fat burning machine than women, they have always lost weight faster
meganmpfeifer

I am so glad to see some of you check back in after you joined. That's what accountability is all about. Nothing to be shy of, every one here has been where you are today. Your not alone.3 -

I just have to say that I've been working really hard, and I know I could not have done it at my starting weight. I'm SO grateful and glad that I started losing weight in January, before we decided to move, and that my stomach has shrunk and I'm in healthy habits. Part of me would really be tempted to stop and just eat whatever, but coming here every day and just reading what everyone else is doing reminds me that no, I have a larger goal, keep going, keep working, and taking a holiday while dealing with something big like this doesn't mean a total abandonment of my goals.
I actually miss cooking. I cook way better than I can get at restaurants, and I know it's organic and free of the additives that make my fibro worse. But I'm moving my kitchen today.2 -

My goal weight is 145 but that's negotiable! I'm one of those folks who just didn't bother to try before. I watched my weight affect relationships; affect my enjoyment of life; affect my day-to-day. And yet, I did nothing. I started and stopped a couple of times a few years ago but it was only a half assed effort and nothing sustainable. This time, my cousin, in passing, used the words "self-care" when describing weightloss/fitness -- not directed at me, just in a casual way in the course of a conversation. And a lightbulb went off. I'm not saying it's not a struggle, it is! But it is a whole lot easier than I thought it could be. And getting my 45 year old body to move more? I'm loving it. Looking forward to hearing everyones success stories as the months go on!1 -
