70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had hip surgery March 10th. Recovery is slow. Sure do want to be back doing 5 miles a day!
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.

Historically, the 'just give me 10 days' board is my best friend every time I need to jump start weight loss, so i'm back.... for the 7000000th time. Luckily we are near a major medical hub for hospitals/doctors so we should be able to have access to some of the best doctors.@kblanc14 - sorry you have a family member sick too, is seems worse when it's a family member rather than ones self, almost seems like it's more beyond ones control. The baby's condition is unchanged, consultant still believes he is suffering with a genetic condition preventing him from retaining glucose, constant feeding tube down his nose is still in place and poor little chappie is now also suffering with croup. He is really in the wars, plan is to move him to specialist children's hospital tomorrow and hopefully conclusive blood results should be in tomorrow to enable a treatment plan to be developed β fingers crossed.
06/30 136 β 12.3 miles walked yesterday, but a binge on chocolate covered peanuts which I just craved all day; no more in the house now! Once again must move on and crack down. Doing afternoon tea for my sisters in the garden β all socially distanced β but will do as lunch and some βgoodiesβ are healthy ones, will get out for a walk this morning beforehand. Managed to change our caravan site booking to be closer both to our DD's house and to the specialist children's hospital where our DGS is being moved to today, it will be less time travelling up to give them support by taking his 2 year old brother for a few hours each day - still can't visit sick DGS due to C-19, hard times all round.

06/26β179.0--Iβm getting better at focusing on whatβs good for my body. Making better choices on a regular basis now. Mentally, I seem more in control than Iβve been in a very long time. Stayed within plan on eating and got in some gardening, house cleaning, and some walking yesterday even though I was super sore from the day beforeβs strenuous activities.
06/27β179.6βOverexerted yesterday and went to bed super sore, so some of this may be muscle stress. Made some less than perfect choices yesterday though, as well, but calories werenβt over by much. I think, if I manage today well, this will go down tomorrow. Need to focus on more protein, less carbs, and more water today.
06/28β179.4βWas hoping for a whoosh today, but it didnβt happen. At least itβs a small move in the right direction! Made good choices yesterday and stayed active, but didnβt overexert. Still got in over 10K steps and an exercise bike session. I was hungry last night at dinner, but still kept control, so I was proud of myself for that. At least Iβm not soaring higher and higher like I did during the lockdown.
06/29β179.6βI must admit, this is frustrating. Iβm doing a good job with calorie intake and Iβm staying active too. The thing I need to do better on is water, so that is my goal today. Iβve got to make this work, and not just blow it off again, so today I will focus on water.

I did three miles of fast walking while pushing a stroller with an 18-pound baby and all her stuff (much harder for me than just walking), drank 70 ounces of water, and stayed within calories with good, healthy choices all day. It definitely paid off. But I really think it was good choices over the last few days that made this happen; my body just really fights losing weight, so it took a while. Now if I can just stay or get back here or below by the end of the round. Going to try hard NOT to blow this today. 07/01β178.0--I feel pretty good about this. In my world, after a whoosh, thereβs usually a bounce back up a bit. I worked hard yesterday to prevent that even though I fought hunger all day, and all I got was a .2 bounce. I ate within plan and got in three short walks yesterday spread out throughout the day as I had time. I also drank a lot of water to help curb the hunger, although much of it went unmeasured. If I can keep doing what Iβve been doing, hopefully the downward trend will continue.

06/27: 216.4 / a ridiculous nexus of poor choices yesterday and some factors beyond my control this morning. That is why I like to track averages.
06/28: 213.8 / I love combining my exercise (walking) with something I love. Went fishing yesterday without by boat, βthe Kraken.β (I love to release the Kraken. Ha!) Walked my way around a small lake. Caught just enough to keep it interesting. I was scouting it as a possible place to bring my grandson fishing.
06/29: 211.4 / Lots of walking and I ate pretty well this Saturday and Sunday. Going-away party tonight for some friends leaving the state. I will endeavor to be a good boy. I would love to crack 211 this week.

6/26 159.4lbs. Back to counting calories, now just need to start my back exercises again. So much to do outside that I forget.
6/27 160.8 lbs Unexpected quests in the evening led to campfire, pizza, smores and a few beers. Ugh, way over on calories because I wasn't expecting to even eat in the evening. But a great time. I always thought it was harder to keep weight off in the winter but it is summer for me.
6/28 158.9 lbs So when I first weighed the scale was actually 20 lbs less, I have an old house and the wooden floor is wavy in spots, goodness get one board over and you loose weight, who needs a diet. LOL Just find the weight you like and weigh there.

Hey, it happens! The main thing you cannot do is give up! Take it from someone who did that and is now trying to work off the 30 lbs she gained over the last year. Shake yourself off today. Eat within calorie range, drink lots of water, and get in some movement. Tomorrow will be a better weigh in. Promise!

06/27: DNW -- (less than 2K steps yesterday! ) woke feeling a bit bloated from too much takeout, but the goal is to match or beat my step record today. Already have 9,000 steps in, about to do a TaeBo weighted workout and plan on breaking fast with some salad, scallops and pesto potatoes when I'm done.
06/28: 216.9 ~ didn't match steps, but was more than 10K so happy about that! Corralled into working additional hours and just want to lounge around like a cat in the sun today. No plans at all.

I fed my popcorn habit but no other snacks yesterday β yay! Itβs cool and overcast today (so far) so Iβm off for a walk and then planning more garden maintenance. Weβre having our patio enlarged β the base went in yesterday for concrete tomorrow, so Iβm plotting where to put another flower bed, a hydrangea, and a few other things. π

Just canβt let go! Apparently Iβm nicely settled in ~181 and my fat doesnβt want to shift. Itβs ok, I know if I persist Iβll suddenly drop. I βfeelβ lighter, so I try to cling to that feeling when the scale doesnβt move (or moves the wrong way!). Anyway, I have a low-cal day and plenty of exercise planned. All good! And our patio expansion continues (and finishes) today with new concrete. Yay! Have a great Monday!

I took a 5-mile walk along the Maumee River on our beautiful Rivergreenway. We have many great trails in the city and county, including almost 30 miles of greenway along our three rivers, but this stretch is one of my favorites for its variety of scenery, flora, and fauna.

06/30 161.0 I've been eating clean for two days. My biggest challenge is drinking water.
07/01 160.6 Yesterday I had a rest day at the beach (recovering from 2 consecutive days of cardio sculpt with my personal trainer via zoom). Today I hope to make sure that any weight loss is not due to dehydration and I'll make sure to get some yoga and walking in.
