About me:I love learning about food and everything about it; from the way it acts in the body to learning to cook a new recipe. I went to school for nutrition (got my bachelor's) but I didn’t become an RD because it didn’t feel like the path for me. I guess I wanted to keep it as more of an interest instead of a career. I then went into public health to further my education and I currently help medically complex patients by connecting them with community resources to improve their health and life. I enjoy helping family and friends when they ask for advice related to food and nutrition. Plus, it helps me brush up on what I spent so much time learning!
I’m here because when I’m not paying attention to what I eat, I start to gain and feel uncomfortable in my body. For me that results in frustration and a lot of other emotions. It has also increased my cholesterol in the past (It’s good now as far as I know thanks to diet and exercise). I have a family history of diabetes, heart disease, and all that fun stuff. So, I want to prevent that for myself by getting a hold of my food habits now.

@figurethefat When I joined this thread 3 years ago it was my plan to do a couple of rounds and then disappear. I find this group so POSITIVE and ENCOURAGING that I couldn’t go. Even when we cruise (oh, how I miss that!) I keep a log and update when we get back to an internet connection. I've been weighing and measuring for years now and realized today I've seen this weight (plus or minus 10 pounds) ONE FRIGGIN TIME TOO MANY over the past year and half. Somehow ... emotionally, psychologically, covid lockdown ~ whatever ~ whenever I got close to ONEderland ~ something threw me back into bad behaviors and BOOM ~ here I am again. I'm done with all that.
So with new awareness, I'm shaking up my diet and exercise a bit more; and will only weigh and measure at the start and end of each round. I'll continue to keep myself accountable tracking workouts, steps, calories burned and consumed and will let those numbers be my guides.10 -

07/06 - Last challenge went really poorly for me and I have no idea why... I was good about my diet and exercise but still went up hopefully this challenge goes well for me. Working hard today and planned out lots of healthy meals for the day. Going to do some yoga and ab work today, no serious exercise because some jerk cut the water main to our street so we have no water today while it's being repaired and I don't want to get too sweaty.

@aFit50 I can empathize. I was just talking to myself this morning about how every single time I get to a certain weight and swear I'm not ever going back and having to play catch up, and "BOOM" as you say, I'm back up again. However, I LOVE your determination in your last paragraph, and the way you are evaluating, shaking things up and doing whatever works for you!
