What Mini Goal is motivating you right now!

My mini goal is to hit 164lbs. I’m at 165.2 and haven’t seen 164 for months. Only a tiny little bit and I will be elated! Then I want to lose 25 lbs.7

It's funny - I got down past 190 and now I'm about halfway down to 185! So my next mini goal is 185. I think it was just a big whoosh. (Yes, my mini goals are five pounds each.)
I made a chart on the wall that maps out my journey - each pound gets an old school foil sticker on the chart, and I find that I really like seeing that long line of progress and watching it grow. It's somehow more fun than even the best online tracking and though I had planned rewards for myself originally, I find I just like putting stickers on the chart.13 -

Ooh, this reminds me of something I did the last time I lost a significant amount of weight (over a decade ago). I had a chain of paper clips on my desk at work, and every time I lost a pound, I added a paper clip. No one but me knew what it meant, but it was a cool visual and tactile way of representing my progress to myself.21 -

Go after it Tiger ~ you can do this!1 -
I was 210 this morning, and that used to be my top weight--but the last five to eight years have been a slow but steady rise in the upward direction. So my mini goal for right now is to make 210 my "real" number, not the number showing up after a particularly hot and intense workout the day before. Let's see if I remember that I have a mini-goal2

I have knee surgery in September. My goal is to exercise on my "dreaded" elliptical every day...maybe one day off per week. I am now on it for 30 minutes at a time. I have been on MFP for years and haven't logged food for a long time. But I am now logging my food again. I also want to get 10 pounds off prior to surgery. Those are this old woman's goals. So different from when I was trying to get into a swimsuit for the summer. I still swim when I am in Hawaii. The pools are closed for COVID right now. I also like to kayak and bike ride. That is the reason I need to go through a knee replacement. Hope everyone meets their goals.9

My sister's wedding next summer! I know it's a long ways away but I'm feeling anxious about it and it motivates me.9

Slowly dropping down.....I have 24 days to get down 4 pounds. Looking at hitting the 200-teens... getting out of the 220's. Haven't seen those numbers for years.9

Oh I so recognise that! I am aiming to be *really* 83.9 kg or less, when I first get up, not just when I weigh mself after a pre-breakfast work out.

lose the 10 lb or so I've gained since March most of it since like May. I'd like to do so by our Labor Day trip, because why not.3

Right now my weight is 202 lbs so my mini goal is to get to 199. It kind of SUCKS to have that goal since I was trying to lose weight 10 years ago when I was 165 lbs...but it is what it is.13

Right now it is limiting the wine during the week. Not having the gym makes it even more important to keep the calories in check & that is harder with that extra glass of wine.3

Hi Randj6280! I am going to stick to my calorie goal. It’s only 1200 but I’m short and very sedentary outside of exercise. It’s sooo hot out so I haven’t been going for my usual long walks which I miss. So I’m mainly just focusing on what I eat.3

Mine is to get my weight to the 180's by November!6

My mini goal is to get to 159. I am currently at 166, so I have a few more weeks, but it’s almost in sight!5

Not really a mini goal, but I am getting married in 79 days time and want to look good in my dress. Fiance is naturally thin and didn't want to look like Laurel and Hardy in the wedding photos. Now need to get my dress taken in!!

Just restarting losing weight.
I am tipping the scales at 353lbs and it would be nice to get that first 4lb out of the way to put me below 350lb.
My ultimate goal is rather more ambitious....to lose 128lbs13 -

Thank you. I've lost a total of 35lb since January and dropped 3 dress sizes. I just need to learn to keep the weight off now....always a bigger challenge than losing it for me!6 -

Oh yes, I really understand where you are coming from! There is a great threat on the forum offering inspiration for those who lost and gained again and are now losing again. There are a lot of us around.

I have lost and gained weight over the last 12 years, and gain it back from repeating the same habits. Compulsive eating and over eating (eating TERRIBLE FOOD)..not working out. I have finally come to that point where I want to spend the rest of my life in shape and stop the slacking. I'd like to be around 170-160 ( at 5ft 11 in) currently at 211 starting from 226. I had gained about 30 in a year...that woke me up. It's time to get serious. If I can quit smoking cold turkey, then I can get into shape AGAIN and stay there. I will be stoked just to get out of the 200s.7

Leah ~ you've got it! Just do what you know to do everyday. I got under 230 last month - now I'm trying to get under 220 this month... it'll be the first time I've been under 220 in many many years.
Good luck and got kick some butt.4 -

Hey brother - here to you hitting UNDER 350 soon! Looks like your on the right path being here. Break that big goal (of losing 128lbs) into mini-goals (such as those first 4lbs).
If you want it bad enough ~ you'll be strong enough to get it.

Hitting 179 so I'll no longer be considered OBESE!3

You got this! That's where I was when I started. I was 350 lbs and currently 212 lbs so just shy of 140 lbs lost. Next goal is to get out of the 200's and final goal is maybe 185. Feel free to add me if you'd like5 -
