07/15 …..209.6….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
07/16 …..210.1 ….. I want to apologize for not being very engaging these past few rounds. There are some major changes going on in my life, some good, some full of turmoil, and my time has been limited and my efforts constantly disrupted. What I am facing could turn positive but it is going to take awhile for it to all come together. My diet and exercise has been completely thrown off-kilter no matter how hard I have tried to keep a good schedule. My usual walking plans of many, many miles per day has been non-existent. Covid has contributed but is not the main factor. I am saddened by this because summer is usually my most successful time of year due to walking, hiking and outdoor activity. I hope for resolution in the coming months, certainly by the end of the year. In the meantime, I will continue to hang around and do what I can, when I can. I know how important it is to my health. I just wanted to say I am sorry that I am not in a position to inspire at this time, but that I continue to be inspired by each and every one of you. I ask for your patience. I still have so much to learn from you all which I know will help when my life is back in order and I can get back in the game 100%. Thanks for your understanding and support.
07/17 …..210.0 ….. Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes and private emails too. It is truly appreciated during what is proving to be an especially challenging time. @quiltingjaine When I was a Postal worker years back and on my feet all the time, the gov’t recommended calcium, magnesium and zinc which we took in a 1 pill combo pill. It really did help with leg cramps, muscle soreness and all the things leg related. Of course, talk to your doctor if you have any concerns. It helped thousands of us, just in my building alone!
07/18 …..210.0 ….. Status Quo.
07/19 …..210.1 ….. Hopefully just a fluctuation.
07/20 …..210.0 …..
07/21 …..210.0 ….. No progress but no detriment either so I’ll take it (for now).
07/22 …..210.1 …..

@HoopsGuy72 - welcome back, we've missed you and wondered where and how you were. Hope life sorts it's self you to for you in the not too distant future and welcome to your wife.
Thank you! It's good to be back, and I've missed you all as well.4 -
@HoopsGuy72 nice to see you back and so positive.
LOL. Thank you! I'm really trying to stay "that way" (positive), so I'm glad that's what's coming across!5 -

This year he gave up soda, he has about one can a week instead of 40oz daily! Baby steps! WELCOME BACK! You were missed!
I know I told you this already, but the email you sent me six weeks ago REALLY helped keep me grounded (and connected to this place), even if life had me feeling stuck. You're a good friend, and I LOVE you for it.
I really missed all of you. I know I've been "dipping my toe" in this for a few months (maybe more than a year), but I am finally feeling ready. Get used to seeing me around full-time again. Thank you all for being so welcoming.7 -

07/16 - 57.7kg, <7,000 steps yesterday (shocking), will do better today, calories were good :-)
07/17 - 57.3kg, surprising since yesterday was the 1st in 90 days that I overate, too much food, too little exercise
07/18 - 57.1kg, all good in the hood!
07/19 - 57.4kg, the body seems to love being in the 57-58kg range, >13,000 steps yesterday, good clean eating
07/20 - 57.6kg, oh no! Going the wrong way, sodium was high yesterday so many it's water. >13,000 steps yesterday
07/21 - 57.4kg, no walking yesterday, just gardening, less salt, happy to hang at this weight for now
07/22 - 57.0kg, a new low in this diet saga and I have learned to expect a bounce will follow, < 11,000 steps Tuesday
07/23 - 56.9kg, hard to believe after 2 extra serves of chocolate last night :-/

07/21: 235.8 (-1.0)/20.2 (-0.1). Here I go again! Life has been rough. I'm really trying to get out of my current job... let's call it an "unsafe work environment." I'm just trying to hang on until something pops up, and I'm a little bit scared that it's not going to happen in time. That being said, I AM SICK OF BEING FAT. So here I am, coming back to the place that has always seemed to work for me in the past. The great news is that my wife is not only on-board with the idea of me getting fit/healthy, but she is actually joining me on the journey. There are always negotiations that need to take place; she wants to define her exceptions and "cheat days" before she gets into any routine, and I am much more about jumping in and figuring out those things as they come. Honestly, I don't believe that you need to "plan" cheat days; they happen ALL THE TIME. Anyways, I'll be around consistently for the foreseeable future. I've been struggling to do this, but something is different this time.
07/22: 235.2 (-0.6)/20.2 (0.0). Two days in a row... I feel like I'm in AA! I decided to take the rest of the week off from work to rest and recharge, and also to get used to my body deciding that it's not happy with the idea that I'm clearing house and making changes. I don't really care what my body's opinion is at this point; this needs to happen. I know I'm going to be saying this over and over again, but THANK YOU all for being here, and being so supportive. It feels great every time I'm here, and... man, there's really nothing left to say. It doesn't make any sense that I would ever stop posting/reading here, and I'm finished with "not making sense" at this point in my life.

07/16 - 327.8
07/17 - 329.7 - doing alt. day intermittent fasting means I'll have an uptick in weight every other day. I expect it and am prepared. I'm so prepared that if I lose too much too quickly, I'll change from a 4:3 to a 5:2 fasting pattern. But so far, so very good.
07/18 - 326.8 - As expected, down a pound from 2 days ago. Since July 6th, down almost 14 lbs. Alt. day IF really has kickstarted my losses after being stuck on a plateau for almost 7 weeks.
07/19 - 329.3 - Right where I expected to be. With 4:3 fasting, my weight should be slightly up after the weekend, then back down after the fasting days. Instead of measuring on a day-to-day basis, a better measure for me will be on a week-to-week basis.
07/20 - 329.9 - And another slight uptick after 2 days of eating. Not a problem, since last Monday I weighed in at 332.5. As long as I keep my weight around the 2 lb. loss per week mark, I'm happy.
07/21 - 328.5 - Down about 3 lbs. from previous week.
07/22 - 328.4 - I wish it were a bit more, but this is one day after eating. If I'm under tomorrow what I weighed on the 16th (one week ago), I'll be quite happy.

Round 120 - Started MFP and 10-Day Challenge 12/27/19 - 186.0 (Heaviest weight ever!)
I am so determined this round. I want to hit my first goal (173.2) this round and then move from there to finally get back to the 160's over the next 2 rounds!- Row and/or free weights 8 of 10 days ✔✔✔✔✔
- (8) 8oz water per day ✔✔✔✔
- 4 to 5 vegies/fruit each day ✔✔✔✔
- No sugar ✔✔✔✔✔✔
- No Bingeing ✔✔✔✔✔✔
- IF 6 out of 10 days ✔✔✔✔✔
- New Challenge - Pushups. Today I could literally do only 1 pushup barely and this was with my knees down. Do them every day and hopefully be able to do 10 soon. My husband suggested maybe doing some bench presses too. ✔✔✔✔✔✔
- 1/2 tsp of added salt ✔✔✔✔✔
Round 120 Start Weight: 174.4
07/16 - 174.4
07/17 - 174.2
07/18 - 173.9
07/19 - 174.0
07/20 - 173.8
07/21 - 173.7
07/22 - 173.5
I'll be gone until Round 122. I won't have 'my' scale and don't want to weigh on someone else's. I hope I can check in and see how everyone is doing. My goal while gone is NOT to gain, and better yet start off Round 122 at my lowest MFP weight of 173.2 - wish me luck! And good luck to all of you the rest of this round and the next!
@Tesha231 Your "Naked and Afraid" program reference made me laugh.
@Katterin227 Congratulations on lowering your BMI (I think about that too when it comes to Covid) and your 20 pound weight loss - you've been making great progress with each of your rounds. Way to go!
@dawnbgethealthy I'm so happy for you that you're seeing results from your hard work. It really is the key to staying motivated and wanting to keep going.
@Shortgirlrunning You always make such good progress with each of your rounds and now I see where you've also gotten down from a SW of 190 - Wow, your progress is so inspiring. Love your profile name.
@Kuhl50 Are you down from 209.X the first of 2020 to now 179.X? Wow, that is fantastic AND inspiring! Congratulations!!
I could post all night with seeing so many people doing so well, and sticking to it when they aren't seeing results at the moment. Everyone here is so inspiring and so positive - I've learned so much from all of you!! Thanks!!

07/16 145.4 lbs 1,872 Calories 45 Carbs, 26 Net Carbs and No Exercise today. Just one of those days with no motivation. Made a Keto dessert but I ate to much of it. I will try to get back on track tomorrow.
07/17 146.0 lbs. ⬆️ I have to get my eating under Control again. One thing I don’t talk about much. But in the past I was/ am a binge eater!! It’s a bad habit I have and it still shows up just when I think I have it under control. One good thing is that I’m eating health food not just Junk!! 1,112 Calories, 65 Carbs, 44 Net Carbs , 5,887 steps and 30 minutes aerobics! Carbs are high but I had Green Beans from the garden and they were worth the Carbs.
07/18 145 lbs ⬇️ 1,411 Calories, 41 Carbs, 33 Net Carbs and 5,517 steps. Sweet corn is just starting to be ready and we had some for lunch. I know it’s not low carb but that’s OK.
07/19 144.2 lbs 1,243 Calories, 35 Carbs, 14 Net Carbs and 6,443 steps. It’s Sunday and our 1st time back to church since March 12th and we closed down. Wearing mask and social distancing!!
07/20 144.2 lbs 1,428 Calories, 66 Carbs, 45 Net Carbs and 7,653 steps. Evening stacking is killing my Carbs!
07/21 144.4 lbs 1,469 Calories, 75 Carbs, 68 Net Carbs and 8,245 steps. Today it was the sweet corn out of our garden that was high on carbs.
07/22 145.2 lbs 1,231 Calories, 47 Carbs, 28 Net Carbs and 5,324 steps. Spent the day running 2 of my granddaughters around. From ball practice to orthodontist and then to softball game.

@fmfdfa2020 Hi Debra, that’s correct, thank you! I’m grateful for every pound that I’ve lost and kept off. There have been times along the way I’ve felt stalled out, but I keep trusting that sticking to my habit basics (track, move, journal-plan the day) will keep me in the right direction and so far it’s worked!
Congratulations on being so very close to your MFP lowest weight. And good luck maintaining while you’re “away”—wishing you great results when you come back for Round 122!8 -

07/16 135.2 – such fluctuation !! 8.67 miles walked yesterday. 573 calories in green and all macros in green.
07/17 135.2 – 7.07 miles walked yesterday, at DS with DGD & DGS#1 (brother of sick DGS) so no control of food preparation, but did try to restrict volume of intake !!
07/18 135.2 – 9.6 miles walked yesterday, 605 calories in credit and all macros in green. Baby DGS#2 has been transferred to Leeds hospital where liver experts are, they have given a very tiny glimmer of hope, long hard struggle ahead, but he is a fighter! We're all keeping positive for a miracle.

Ready for round 120 {57th for me}
OSW 88KG
RSW 60.0 kg (-28kg) or {61.7 lbs}
I reached my ultimate goal of 58kg in round 118 then totally sabotaged myself ending up the biggest I've been this year! Goal this round is to finish at 59.x kg
07/16 59.95kg a slow steady down trend is what I want!
07/17 59.90kg...Nice work out.
07/18 60.10kg which is ok considering the size of the t-Bone I ate last night!
07/19 60.55kg
07/20 61.15kg...not surprising considering the calculator blew up when I tried to calculate the calories!
07/21 60.1kg...a few days to get it under 60.
07/22 60.0kg..I'll take it
07/23 59.45kg after a great workout. 2 days to keep it off to reach target.

Looking forward:
I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.
July: focus is on improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
Aims:
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy
Back Story:2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅JGM10D ~|~ Round 120 🔹Posting weight and comments each evening.
2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ So far, so good.
That's a WIN in my book!
2020
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

I've had guests for two days so eating was all over the place. Happy that the scales didn't register a higher number this morning. No excuses now till the end of this round.

Food was on track. Did lots of exercise and my muscles are sore so hoping this blip is water retention. Going to drink plenty of water today to help.

Day/Weight/Comment
07/16–179.4 Well, that just stinks! I did pretty much everything wrong yesterday, and it shows. I almost didn’t post here this morning. Almost didn’t weigh. But that’s what I do when I lose control and vanish from the board, so I decided to just own it and move forward. So that’s a positive, right? I’m hoping this drops off pretty quickly since it was a one day deal, but I know it will take a while to make progress beyond where I was at the end of Round 119. But it's all good. I'm still here and will not give up this time.
07/17–177.6 So, that’s real progress, but some of the damage remains, which is always true, isn’t it? Had a perfectly lovely morning hiking with granddaughter in a pack on my back to an enormous sunflower field. She loves riding on my back in that pack, and I love carrying her into some of my favorite places.
07/18–176.0 Finally some real progress. I’ll take it! I ate lots of fresh veggies and some fresh peaches yesterday along with a farm-raised filet mignon for dinner last night. Got in a good walk early yesterday morning. IF 16:8
07/19–175.6 Sure hope I can maintain control today and keep this trend going!
07/20–174.8 Summer vegetables and fruits from the farmer’s markets make this such a delicious time of year! I even worked in a little ice cream treat yesterday when it was 96 degrees here with humidity of like 1000%—such a scorcher! I’m learning it’s all about portion control and retraining my brain to stay away from, for me, these things: breads, heavy starchy foods (pasta, white potatoes, etc), and rich, saucy ways of cooking things—not necessarily eliminating them entirely, but avoiding them whenever possible. Our family’s favorite dessert right now is fresh fruit (last night was peaches and cherries) with a dollop or two of low fat vanilla yogurt on top. Onward and hopefully downward—one day at a time!
07/21–175.4 Part of the process. I had a rest day from planned exercise yesterday. I was just tired! Gotta get back on it today! But hey, I'm within 10 lbs of my first big goal! That's exciting.
07/22–175.8 This is my body being stubborn. Ate well and exercised a lot yesterday, so I was good with all that. Guess I could have drunk more water, so that is the goal for today.
07/23–175.0 Good day yesterday. Didn’t get derailed by the uptick from the day before. This is truly a mental game, isn’t it? Lots of exercise in spite of it being a sauna here right now. Walked early morning and late evening in addition to just staying busy during the day.

07/16: 170.8; Had a rough workout yesterday that left me terribly over heated and dehydrated. Though my weight stayed low, I still don't think it's a true reflection of where I am. I'm guessing 171.8 or so...
07/17: 171.2; Weight is starting to level out now that I'm hydrated. Glad the bump up was so small.

07/19: 171.8; Poor eating yesterday

07/21: 170.0 Whoosh... I guess 169.x is pretty close after all.
07/22: 168.2 Whoosh and round goal met. This is probably a blip from being a tad dehydrated from yesterday, but not completely wrong. I was surprised though as I had Chinese for dinner yesterday. Go me!
07/23: DNW, went to work early and just plum forgot. I'll catch it tomorrow!
