AFternoon guys...Oh I can never catch up on the post. I was gone too long. Last week was the pits, but moving on.. I walked yesterday, but not today. I really just wanted to sit and enjoy the quietness of the morning.
I have been fasting from bedtime to 5pm..that is hard. I just went off the fast. I ate a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast.LOL
Well I will try to get on here daily again...been cleaning out closets..

@teresaw1020 Is your trendline on your weight going down overall? Remember weight loss is not a straight line down if you view it daily. Mine is always like a cha-cha-cha because my carbs/cals are higher on Thursday-Saturday. So I go up and then I go back down a bit farther than I was before. I have often thought to just not weigh myself for those three days since I only report my week once a week. But it keeps me motivated to continue consistently on those other four days. I might try one week and see how it works. Hopefully your mom's vision will be better and no surgery.
@trooworld What's your exercise plan for the week now that you are working? Emails: Yuck They should figure out a way for people to be able to check their emails from home in this situation.
@mswatson0777 Sounds like you have lots of mental work which needs physical to balance it to get all that stored up energy out. But don't forget to pamper yourself too. thanks for the recipe. Hubby is not really picky as long as he has some food in front of him.
@cbabie Yaaay on your walk. Yes fasting is hard which is why I tend not to do it.
I figure if I can eat and lose weight, why not. lol You know I take the path of least resistance. Although there is a method to my madness. I was telling someone that right now at a heavier weight, I try to eat the most calories and burn the least that I can get away with and still lose weight. Because the smaller I get, the less calories I will burn through thermogenesis and all that. So I will have to eat less and/or burn more to keep losing weight. If I'm already at the top of my limit on both, it leaves no wiggle room. You know I like my wiggle room.
I did another fun video: Well she had to break it into two. Hairspray. I loved that musical and all the songs. The moves I can't do I improvised. I got in a really good workout and it was so fun. Usually I'm just waiting for the time to pass so I can be done.

@mswatson0777 Look at the link I shared with @trooworld Are you being satisfied mentally with your food? Fun money is a good idea. I like to do that with clothes or something around the house. I'll see something and say oh that's too much money but one day I'd like to have it and a fun fund would do it.
@teresaw1020 Yaaay on your scale being down. Mine was down just a bit but down is down these days for me. I read Where the Crawdad sings for bookclub last year. Maybe the year before. Time all runs together now. Now I'll have to go look up Rent.
@gemwolf110 Have you been finding time to exercise in your busy busy schedule. I love the upgrade. Have you been watching HGTV? The white cabinets remind me of that. It brightens up the whole room. We watch that everyday and now they seem to be in re-runs on some of the shows. I keep telling dh I want to redo my family room.
So I lost 0.4 lbs this week. Down is down.

Lol yes I have been. HGTV is one of my favorite channels other than Discovery, Science Channel and National Geographic. It took me a good month for the kitchen. And a week for the bathroom vanity. Hard work but it’s gorgeous.@mswatson0777 Yes!!! And I start back to work on Monday. I want a shower so I can shower before work! Good luck with your August goals, you can do it!
@gemwolf110 Hello, nice to hear from you!
Your kitchen, wow, what a difference paint makes, it looks great! How are you?
@theslightedgeforever Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. I like that it's only 20 mins, that's a perfect length. Yeah, you would think they would have more than one plumber.
Congrats on the loss!
COMMITTED.
July goal: get at least 7 1/2 hours of sleep every night, drink 2 (26 oz) bottles of water a day
I’ve been good. Keeping busy. Working 7 days a week and working on my house. Started on the front steps! Got the first coat down.
Thank you all. Hoping to have fun cooking healthy in the updated kitchen :-)0 -
@mswatson0777 Sorry that your website is acting up. That is super annoying. Sounds like your life is as busy as always. I hope you get to have another relaxing weekend.

@cbabie Good to see you back! That is a long fast. Are you doing it every day?
@theslightedgeforever Yes my weight trendline is moving down but it still annoys me to see it jump back up. I really should be used to it since that has always been the way my body responds. Have you thought about taking your weekly average for your weight? That is what I’ve been doing for the last month and I really like it better.
Good morning! I woke up with a headache, which is something I’ve been dealing with off and on for a couple of weeks now. I’m telling myself that its weather related.
Today’s plans are to work out and then wash every knick-knack in my house. I have dusted but haven’t taken everything to the sink in months. I figure that will keep me busy and help me extend my fast. I’m going to strive for 22 hours today and see if I can move the scale. Have a good day!

@cbabie I could never fast either, I need that energy to get me through the day!
@trooworld I hope you're able to get caught up this week. I'm excited your new shower is coming soon!
@gemwolf110 Thanks for sharing the link! And your front steps look GORGEOUS!
@theslightedgeforever For sure! I find exercise is really good at grounding me and mitigating the stress. Exercise is the one habit I actually stick with because I feel so much better when I do (it took me awhile to realize this- I didn't use to be an active person AT ALL!)
Happy Wednesday all! I'm feeling a lot better today about everything. Helps I finally went back to see my counselor last night which really grounded me. I also spent last night relaxing with my partner and watching Umbrella Academy so I've actually got energy for the day.
I'm really excited for the weekend. I've got a two day board training I have to attend, but I get a hotel room out of the deal and I get to explore the city while I'm there so that should be fun for a change of scenery. They're doing a social distancing training where we all get our own 6 ft table in a giant conference room with masks so I'm feeling fairly comfortable with it.1 -
@TeresaW1020 Oh my goodness, 22 hours?! Do you think about food all the time? Lol I say that as a chronic snacker so I'm always really impressed with people who can go that long
@trooworld Happy Thursday (and almost shower day!)
Happy Thursday All! I am BEAT! We just onboarded my second new employee in two months so I am swarmed with training and transition. I just realized it's 10am and I've barely drank my coffee! I've got back to back meetings until I leave for my doctor's appointment, so it's going to be a busy day. Hope you're all well!

Morning all, sorry I wasn't here yesterday . Just wasn't a good day. I didn't walk, ate terrible...blah blah blah..
I made me some oatmeal and carrying it to my office, I dropped it on the floor. I was so mad!! Had to redo and hurry to get on the phones..LOL. I did get my walk in..
@TeresaW1020 I am not fasting now..it was a 15 day and I finished on Monday..it was hard. I really don't like to fast anymore. I have done damage to my body by being so stubborn at times.
@gemwolf I love the pictures of your house. What a fun time. I love doing those things...right now I am cleaning out closets. LOL
@mswatson0777 Wow back to work and busy. Well I hope you get through the training soon. I hate when I realize I have been so busy that I haven't even taken a drink..I am important too LOL
@theslightedgeforever I know you love your wiggle room. I do too..we must have lived in the same house. LOL
@trooworld I am so glad your bathroom is FINALLY coming together. I am sure you are more happy than me LOL

@mswatson0777 HaHa! When I first started IF I did think about food all day long. Now I can easily go 19 to 20 hours before I really start thinking about food. I also always know what I’m having for dinner so I have that to look forward to. I hope you have a great time at your conference.

@trooworld Knick-knack washing didn’t happen since I felt yucky most the day. I might do them tomorrow or Saturday. I’m a play-by-ear kinda girl.
@cbabie If you don’t like fasting and have a hard time not damaging your body then you definitely shouldn’t do it.
Hey everyone! So, I went to my staff meeting and found out that my children’s pastor did test positive for COVID. But she has been fine in over three weeks and her husband tested negative. So we are going forward with our childcare and children’s church plans for this Sunday. We will do every other week since we are still short on volunteers who feel comfortable coming back. After I got home DH and I decided to go out to lunch and then we did some shopping, while Maggie Mae was at the groomers. Look how cute she is!!!

3 -
@cbabie I love that, we are important too! Sorry yesterday was such a rough day, I hope it turned around
@TeresaW1020 Your pup is SO CUTE! And sorry to hear about the children's pastor, I'm glad to hear they recovered okay.
@trooworld Right?! I was struggling big time. I figured out I had 8 meetings by the time it was noon, I thought my head was going to explode. Glad your bathroom is finally getting straightened out!
We had a couple friends over last night for an outdoor social distancing cookout and some bourbon and my head is POUNDING today. Give me strength for this hybrid zoom meeting today, the echoing of multiple people's computer speakers is deafening. I ended up having a bit more than I had planned last night, but nothing too crazy, which I'm proud of!

Hmmmm.. I thought I checked in because I remember seeing gemwolf's steps and commenting on them. Maybe I forgot to hit post reply....
@gemwolf110 You are doing such a good job on your house. Love the steps. Post us a pic of your healthy meal you cooked.
@trooworld Have you been meeting your water goal? Oh I thought you were back full time. So glad you will still be able to exercise so you can move forward.
@teresaw1020 Now I know I had looked at the posts because I saw your question and was thinking about it. I even investigated it with my tracker. I only look at the average for my trendline every day. But for reporting purposes, I have been reporting my actual weight each week. I guess cause I know if it's up and I've had some sodium it's not a true weight and doesn't bother me. Like this week, I gained 0.5 lbs but my numbers have been really good this week. No real reason to gain. So it will go away.
@mswatson0777 I'm glad you've found your exercise niche. It's so important for our mental health. Have fun exploring. Sounds fun.
@cbabie That's great that you got a walk in. Focus on what you did right for the day. It must have been the day for dropping things. I dropped an egg on the floor. Then I was getting out the shredded cheese for quesadillas and the bag hit the can of carnation milk and flipped it over so milk was pouring out all over the water bottles and then down into the floor so I had to clean up all that.

@trooworld It took over three weeks for our children’s pastor to get her test results back. It seems to be a real problem around here unless you want to pay the big bucks for a rapid test. We did close the church for two weeks and none of us who were around her have a single symptom. The thing is that I can be exposed at any time from multiple sources. I will get tested if I ever come down sick with the symptoms but until then I am living my life to the best of my ability and not worrying about it.
I’m glad that you had a good week at work and I sure hope that shower has been installed!
@mswatson0777 Ohhh dear overindulging must be going around. I drank a bit more wine last night than I planned to last night and my head doesn’t feel at it’s best. Fortunately for me, I don’t have a Zoom meeting.
@theslightedgeforever Do you use a particular tracker? I’ve been using Happy Scale and just paid for the upgrade. I love the data and how it tracks my 10 days best average. Plus, it has little graphs that I enjoy. :grin
Good morning! I lost 1.5 lbs this week which made me very happy! I did eat too much yesterday and drank a bit more wine then I intended to, but that is OK. I have made my Friday’s my day for indulgences which helps me buckle down the rest of the week and behave. Today’s plans are to work out, do some housework, work on a new puzzle that I just started, and read some of my book. I’m reading I, Alex Cross and it’s sooo good! DH has gotten back into reading and has convinced me to start up too since he has all these good books lying around. Have a good day!

Hey gang
Sorry I've not been around. Just have been real off and on again with trying to achieve any fitness goals. Currently trying to get back on again. I walk 2x a day and I do a few stairs (currently 40) just whatever I can do with my tendonitis which is still not fully healed.
My gym is open but they are only allowing people in for 45 mins at a time, and it's super expensive, and I'm struggling with whether it's worth it to go for 45 mins. My personal trainer- I miss him and would totally start with him again, but they cut that to 45 mins too and it's over $100 an hour and I can't bring myself to do that for 45 mins. Honestly it would end up being like 35 mins of working out bc we would talk things through for 10 mins.
So not sure what to do with that.
I've started to track my food again after not doing so for months, bc my weight is edging up. We'll see if I can be consistent.
@trooworld yay you almost have a shower!
@teresaw2010 your little pup is cute.
well wish me luck with some consistency again!0 -
@teresaw1020 Yaaay on your weight loss. I use happy scale too but just the free kind. I'm reading American Dirt right now. It's good but sad.
@trooworld Yeah, seeing other real people. That will be fun one day. lol I was doing well on my water last week, don't know what happened this week but I will begin again tomorrow. With corona, a person could still be infected, asymptomatic and spread to other people. I just read an article about all the kids that are now infected. At least two have died this past week. So sad. So disappointing on your shower. They really want you to enjoy it once you get it. It sounds nice with the little shelves.
@its_cleo I was thinking about you the other day when I read an article about the Blue Jays. Wow, that's expensive on the trainer. Did they up the prices during the pandemic? Well you basically know what to do; it's just a matter of consistently doing it. Maybe once every 12 weeks with a trainer would be good so he could offer tweaks and switch up your program. I'm learning the trick with consistency is just doing it for TODAY. Tomorrow will take care of itself; you can't change yesterday.

@trooworld I am so sorry for your loss. As someone who recently lost a parent, your complicated emotions surrounding his death are totally understandable. For me, it brought up a lot of feelings of what could have been. My biggest recommendation is to find a grief therapist ASAP. It honestly saved my mental health and helped me process the complications in ways I wouldn't have been able to on my own.
@TeresaW1020 falling into a good book is one of the best feelings there is! I recently did the same with "One to Watch" and it was fabulous
@theslightedgeforever Great job keeping up with activity!
@Its_cleo I totally get struggling with gym prices. I'm still paying mine every month, but I'm not going and won't be for some time. I consider it investing in a small business, but if I didn't know the owners so well I may have made a different decision
This weekend SUCKED. And I don't mean kind of sucked, but it was honestly one of the worst weekends I've had in a long time. I started the training day on 6 hours of sleep after a 2.5 hour drive. I walked into the training room (the agenda said masks would be required at all times) and NO ONE was wearing masks. So the first time meeting the new board I'm on and I have to be the jerk who asks people to wear their masks during the 12 hour training. Top that off with having to put out a couple of work fires during the meeting, not sleeping the following evening, my period coming mid-way through the meeting, and me avoiding all social contact with everyone since I didn't trust them to wear masks outside of the room and it was probably one of the worst first impressions I've ever made. And now I'm on this board for the next two years...yay...
I got home and immediately took a three hour nap, and was so exhausted I still slept through the night and took a nap the day after. I didn't get a single workout in all weekend long, felt awful, and ate like crap, which then raised the question of if this was just complete and utter burnout or should I be paranoid about COVID...ugh...
I did make it through a 30 minute workout this morning which was a good sign and I am back at work where I actually feel competent...but I am about ready to throw the towel in and just hide under the covers in my room.

@mswatson0777 wow that sounds like a tough day. It must be hard dealing with the mask thing. Here most people are compliant. Hopefully you will continue to feel better with some rest and good days at work.
@trooworld I'm really sorry for what you're going through. It sounds difficult. Take care of yourself and just know that there's no right way to feel, and whatever you're feeling is ok. I hope you can get some good support. I think I mentioned once I haven't spoken to my mother in years and years. Sometimes I think about how I will feel when she passes. I don't know, but it is the right thing for me not to talk to her even though it was a tough decision.
@theslightedgeforever my gym was always expensive but it used to feel worth it. I don't know for 45 mins. So right now I am just leaving it and saving the money.
well I've tracked regularly for about 3 days. I went out yesterday with friends and overdid it and lunch out tomorrow with another friend. But I'm being relaxed about it. It's very rare now to get out and see people bc of covid, so I'm just going to enjoy it.
Take care all.0 -
@mswatson0777 I am so sorry that you had such a bad weekend! That is just awful that you had to be the one to get people to wear their masks. I hope you will have a better week.
I just got RBdigital so I can get audiobooks from my library. I think that will be fun when I’m working on my puzzles.
@trooworld You already know that I have you in my thoughts!
@theslightedgeforever I need your book recommendations. It’s been so long since I did any reading for pleasure that I don’t know what to try to get other than James Patterson. And he can be a bit intense. Makes Justified look tame.
@its_cleo Yikes that is a lot for a trainer. I can see why you would hesitate.
Hey everyone! So this is my last week with my current workout Barre/weight lifting. I’m happy that I actually stuck it out all 8 weeks, but I am looking forward to doing something different. I’m leaning towards 21-Day Fix and combining it with my treadmill. That is a three-week program and at the end of the month, there is a new one that combines boxing and weight lifting that I might check out. I mean heck, I’ve become a ballerina doing Barre, I might as well become a boxer. Right?
I also went to Aldi and took my mom to get her other eye surgery done. I broke my fast earlier than usual today and I really need to stop doing that. Tomorrow, I’m setting a goal of a minimum of 21 hours, which means I’m NOT eating until 1:30 pm. Yesterday, I bought this amazing puzzle for $40 off FB Marketplace. It’s called Bizarre Town and I can’t wait to get started on it!

@trooworld I only got 1/2 of my water goal.
I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. Things like this can be complicated. My dad passed suddenly in 2017. We were close until his stroke and then he died 6 weeks later. For some reason he didn't talk to me during those last 6 weeks. We used to talk an hour on the phone every week and I think during those 6 weeks I talked to him 2 or 3 times for 5 minutes or less. I'll never know why, I didn't get closure. But nothing I can do about it other than make my own closure.
@mswatson0777 Gym: Investing in a small business is really a good way to look at it during this time. Masks:
At least the impression of you will be someone who stands by her convictions which is so much better than a flip-flop person. I'm sorry you had such a taxing weekend. But you got back on track and did a great workout instead of wallowing.
@its_cleo Yaaay for tracking. Just concentrate on one day at a time. I've had the same thoughts about if my brother passes before I do. We haven't talked in years. His choice. Although really the brother I used to have passed a long time ago. This one is just the father of my nephews and nieces. I'll feel sad for them.
@teresaw1020 You have done a great job with the Barre workout. That sounded very tough Good for you for sticking it out. Become a boxer this next month and then you can move on to cage fighting.
I have a hard time with audiobooks. My attention wanders. Books: It depends on what type of genre you like. I read fluff books cause I like the escape. But once a month for bookclub I read different genres. I'm currently reading American Dirt for my bookclub on Thursday. It's a woman and child escaping extreme violence in Mexico and they are a target. So it's their journey to "el norte" I'm picking up some Spanish as I read this. lol That puzzle looks tough. But fun.

@theslightedgefover I think it's possible my mind might wander too. I do goo listening to a podcast but that it isn't the same as listening to a novel. I will find out later today. I just checked out "When we left Cuba" which was recommended to me by a friend. I do like some good fluff too.
Cage fighter!!
@trooworld So sorry that you had a rough day yesterday. You need some Zen time to regroup and get back into the zone. Hang in there!
Good morning! Mom and I were at Walmart by 8 am this morning. I wanted to beat the heat and the crowds. My mom's eye surgery went really well yesterday and she thinks that the eye is much better. Her right eye is still a big problem and we have to wait until the 25th to see what they will do next. My DH went and got his booster shot yesterday for Shingles. The shot's side effects are terrible! He was running a fever and had chills all night. Neither of us got much sleep and he is back in bed right now. Hopefully, he will start feeling better soon! I'm not working out today but instead doing my floors and clean the house. I'm also going to push my fast to at least 21 hours today because the scale is frowning at me.

@its_cleo Great job being back on track! Getting to see friends does feel so indulgent!
@trooworld Glad you have someone to talk to to help process everything, you're in my thoughts. I'm really impressed you tracked everything yesterday, that's huge!
@theslightedgeforever Thank you for your kind words, I'm going to cling to those cause I feel like crap about the whole situation! And I love fluffy books too. The Kiss Quotient was a recent one I fell in love with. And Elinor Oliphant is Completely Fine.
@TeresaW1020 That puzzle looks amazing and like it will keep you busy for a long time! I hope you're able to find some fabulous audiobooks, I love falling into a good book!
I'm feeling a lot better today. Work is still stressful but at least it's not all day meetings like it was yesterday. I did hop on the scale this morning and am amazed I'm only up 1/2lb. After the emotional, exhausting, tumultuous weekend I had I expected it to be more. I am still frustrated since after getting back on the wagon I'm barely down any weight. It's like my body is clinging to it this time. Oh well, it's not a race and at least I'm not going crazy in the wrong direction anymore.0 -
Morning all, I have had a crazy week. Little one has been sick, she was sick on her birthday..had to take her to urgent care on her birthday. Ear infection...poor thing. She had to wear a mask, first time ever wearing a mask..she did so good. I was so proud of her. So back on to trying to eat and move this body.LOL
I did get on the treadmill yesterday, but too tired today. Ate a big piece of birthday cake last night with NO guilt. She only turns 2 one time. LOL
@trooworld I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad, loss is loss, it really doesn't play favorites..LOL. We all still grieve over loss. You are in my thoughts today. I still get sad over my dad not being here, especially to see my great granddaughter.. he would have loved her.
@TeresaW1020 Wow now that is a puzzle..I would never be able to do that. Do you like Christian who done it? Try Terri Blackstock, I have a few good authors for those kind of books.
@theslightedgeforever I am sorry you never got closure. I know that is important to you. That book you are reading sounds good.
@its_cleo I am with you on the gym, I used to pay and really not think much, but I really do like working out at home..LOL when I do. Yea for tracking...hopefully I will get there and track 3 days in a row. LOL
@mswatson0777 I am so sorry you had a bad weekend..well at least the board you are on knows you mean business and you are not afraid to speak up. I take that as a PLUS. I hope you feel better

@trooworld I did get in my 6 cups. Only because I thought I have to tell Troo. So on to tomorrow. The good thing is every day we get a chance to do it right for the day. The day we are in is all that matters. Sorry about your emo day. Did you write any of your feelings in a journal? Just get it all out there. Then think about next year on Aug 11 and you can go back and see how far you have progressed. I'm enjoying Penzu journal because it always gives me email prompts about earlier entries and I go back and read them and think either Wow I'm doing so much better now or I haven't moved an inch on that problem so what's the plan for this next year.
@teresaw1020 I'm having a problem with my scale too this week. Do you think they have corona?
Mine is just basically staying the same. My numbers have been good this week so I will bump up my exercise numbers a bit. I was going to increase in September by 50 but will put in 25 for these last two weeks. My ultimate goal is to burn 315 cals a day with intentional movement but I knew better than to jump in and expect myself to do that like I used to right away. Baby steps. I've been so much better with moving this month compared to last. So I will keep tweaking. Hopefully mom's eyes will be all better. At what age are you supposed to start receiving the shingles vaccine.
@mswatson0777 If you see my post to teresa you will see that I too and having problems with the scale not moving but I'm holding fast to ignoring that and concentrating on my habit successes each day. Compared to what I was doing in April and May, I'm a rock star. I'm even drinking more water and still....nothing. I'm hanging onto the thought of "Build it....and they will come" (If that made sense to you, lol) I read Elinor Oliphant. I'll have to look up the other one.
@cbabie Yaaay on you getting on the treadmill. What do you want to accomplish in the way of goals tomorrow. Sorry about your ggd being sick. Happy Bday to her. So another August bday to remember, yaaay. Who was that author that you used to get dad all those books. That was never my genre but I know he liked to read them and couldn't wait until the next one came out. Closure: as dad would say, it is what it is.
Red-Stayed OP 88/100 Intentional movement: 10 min walk and 22 min YouTube dance workout

@mswatson0777 Do you have any books you highly recommend? I’m so glad that you are feeling better and yayyy on the scale not making your day worse.

@cbabie Sorry that baby got an ear infection. Those are so miserable. I looked up Terri Blackstock and will give her a try! Any of her books you recommend the most?
@theslightedgeforever Hmm maybe our scales need to go into quarantine…or maybe we need to put a mask over the number to protect us.
You can get the Shingles vaccine at 55 years old. After seeing how bad it kicked my DH’s butt I don’t know if I want to go through that.
Good morning! Hubby slept for 14 hours and is much better this morning. I spent last evening sorting puzzle pieces from my new monster puzzle and watching shows that DH doesn’t care for, like The Office and the news.
Today I need to do my workout and then get some work done before staff meeting tomorrow. We have a new series starting and I need to make a bunch of new graphics for it.

My day is starting off kind of awful. All I want to do is go curl up back in bed under the covers and pretend everything's okay. It didn't help I didn't get much downtime last night. I ended up working on my qualifying exam until after 9pm since I didn't have any energy to do it this weekend and I needed to get an outline to my advisor. And my partner was frustrated since the house and yard are a disaster since I've had no time to help with either. Tonight I'm going to take the dogs for a long walk and relax more since I got so much done last night. Thank goodness I took Friday off. Since the weekend was so awful I feel like I've had no time to become myself again.
@trooworld I'm glad talking with your therapist helped! And I LOVED the Rosie Project! I'm starting Evvie Drake Starts Over and it's pretty good so far! I'm sorry yesterday was so stressful but I'm glad you're one step closer to a new shower!
@theslightedgeforever I'm sorry you're in the same boat as me! It is so frustrating to no longer have multiple desserts a day but still not budge. At least we're being healthier?
@TeresaW1020 I hope you have a productive day today! I am a voracious reader so I've got a ton depending on your genre preference. I've been devouring Sherry Thomas lately. I also really enjoyed "One to Watch" and "Mrs. Everything" by Jennifer Weiner.
@cbabie Happy birthday to the little! I'm so glad she's feeling better!0 -
@teresaw2010 your little pup is cute.
well wish me luck with some consistency again!
Wishing you lots of luck! I’m in the same boat. Just getting back into routine. Did Zumba on Zoom tonight. Cooked breaded chicken with chicken that’s from a local country store. Half a breast of boneless chicken sliced into strips lasts me for about 3 meals. I currently have my gym membership frozen and thinking I’m just going to cancel and save the $30 bucks a month since I’ve been getting a lot out of the Zoom Zumba where some are free and don’t have to drive anywhere.@mswatson0777 Oh my gosh! That is way too many meetings. Your cookout sounds fun. I wish I could do that but we just can't do it here, we don't want to risk it with my brother-in-law being so high risk. That is why I was so glad to go back to work this past Monday: I could actually see and speak with people in person! Lol
@theslightedgeforever Nope I have not been and it shows. Have you? No, full time for the first week and then 20 hours after that. Yes, I'm glad too. No, the bathroom is not done. More on that below.
@TeresaW1020 That's bananas! It shouldn't take so long. Yeah, if you don't have any symptoms, I guess there is no reason to worry about it. It hasn't been installed yet, believe it or not! See more below.
Congrats on the loss! Yay for reading!!!
Hello everyone! So, bad news all around: first, I gained weight this week. Up 1.8 lbs. It could be the takeout we got Thursday AND Friday nights. Although Friday night's takeout was healthy. Boo. Now, the shower: they have installed it but it isn't hooked up yet because some of the pipes/fittings are rusted so they have to get permission to replace those.
The good news is that the new tub/shower enclosure is much nicer with a lot of shelves for shampoo/soaps etc. But I'm so disappointed that I have to take another shower in the bathroom that my mother-in-law uses at my brother-in-law's.
COMMITTED.
August goals: get at least 7 1/2 hours of sleep every night, drink 2 (26 oz) bottles of water a day
Sorry to hear about the bathroom situation. Not a fun thing when it’s down.0 -
Hi all..sorry I have been gone so long. We took the gkids back to OK 2 weeks ago. Stayed with dd for a few days, saw my brother & sil, & then came home. Pretty quiet around here, but kinda enjoying it, lol. It is really nice to not have to try & figure out what they will eat. (VERY picky gs, gd is a little better, but still limited) They are starting school at home, so may be back again. Dd is going to give it a try until Labor Day, lol. They say she & ex will probably be WFH until Jan. Other dd & gkids starting in person. All start on the 24th.
Then Monday & the derecho hit. (not sure if all have heard about it..it is like an inland hurricane with winds 80-110 mph over an extended stretch. They say it was about a 100 mile wide stretch that ran from Nebraska to Ohio) Our house & dd's house seem to be OK. The sunflowers are now taller than dh (6'3") so they did not like the wind, but we propped them up & they seem OK. Lucky we have power, parts of the city still don't.
Yesterday, we headed out to the farm to see what damage there. We own about 90 acres where dh grew up. Mostly pasture & timber. It is where we plant the pumpkins. So much destruction all along the 100 mile drive. Corn flattened (almost looked chopped off), trees broken all over, grain bins down. Got to the farm & the 3-sided shed where we store the tractor was gone...pieces of it all over the field. & even more astonishing was the big machine shed that my fil built when he owned the farm was demolished. It had steel I-beams! So many trees damaged there, too. We had sold the house, machine shed, & a few acres when we bought the land, so the shed is not ours.
We have a lot of cleaning up to do! Then we went into town (where we lived up until 3 yrs ago). It looked like a war zone. It is a small town of about 2800 people. They don't think the power will be restored for up to a week.
It hit a number of our cousins with varying amounts of damage. Sorry for going on about it, but I just can't believe all the destruction! So we were out there today, starting to pick up & will be going back tomorrow.
@TeresaW1020 Your dog is adorable!! Hearing how sick your dh was with the shingles shot makes me leery of getting it. We got the original one, but now they say we should get the "new & improved" 2 shot one, which is probably the one he got?
@trooworld Wow..hope your bathroom gets done soon. Sad it has been so slow!!
@gemwolf Your kitchen was beautiful! Lots of work. We need to start painting the trim on our house, but waiting until it cools off.
@mswatson0777 I would've wanted everyone in masks, but probably would not have guts enough to speak up about it, lol.
@theslightedgeforever Did you get any effects from the derecho? Think you are in IL, right? I really hope you missed it.
Sorry not more "personal" but I can't remember all that I read. Thinking of all of you, tho. Keep on keeping on, lol.1 -
@teresaw1020 How was your fasting today? Mask on the scale
Is shingles worse than the side effects of the shot?
@trooworld Today was a NO on my water. My sister has a dog (which I affectionately named Demon Dog) that barks and growls at me when the door is closed.
First time I ever met the dog it tried to bite me and it had to be put outside. I think it doesn't like my chi. But a constant noise like that would have driven me over the edge. Doesn't take much these days
@mswatson0777 Ok, we are healthier.....I'll go with that line of thought for now. Maybe our bodies are seeing if we are serious this time and then will let it go with a WHOOSH! So until that happens, I will be nailing my water goal and beginning on Sunday increasing my calories burned by 25. What little tweak will you make next week? I hate the feeling of being overwhelmed as I end up crawling in bed and just reading to escape. That surely doesn't help me get stuff done. I'm learning to just focus on one thing. Sometimes it's only a part of one thing. I keep thinking about the quote, "Excellence is the next five minutes" Here's my latest motivational pic I have on sticky notes.
@gemwolf110 Yaaay for your Zumba. I did a couple of videos on YouTube yesterday that really left me sore today. I would have never imagined it because it wasn't strenuous but I guess a lot of whole body movement.
@retiredandlovingit Well now that gkids are gone life will return to somewhat normal and you can go back to your goals. What are your goals for August? I heard about the derecho from Twitter then called my son to see if he had power restored and was there any damage to the car. He had no power for about 24 hours and made me laugh hearing how he spent his time. He was like, Mom, I had no idea what time it was. I was using the sun as an indicator. Plus he read a book. (I said, you have books in your apt?
) I'm sorry for all the damage you and other incurred. I kept watching the videos. The northern part of IL got hit up near Rockford.
Yellow Day-Stayed OP 149/164 Intentional Movement 51 min walk
August goals: Green dot days
Drink 6 glasses of water
Burn 200 cals via movement
Preplan food
EDIT: Wow, that pic turned out really big

@theslightedgeforever Are you psychic? Cause curling up in bed with a book and forgetting the world was exactly what I did last night. My goal for the week ahead is to get back to my basics (and my habit tracker). They way I can at least start to hit my minimums again. How about you?
@gemwolf110 I've been loving at home workouts as well. Well...I shouldn't say loving, but I appreciate that they're there to get me through this.
@RetiredandLovingIt I'm so sorry to hear about the wind damage. I'm glad everyone's okay and I hope people in the town are able to work through all the property damage with minimal impact.
I'm definitely doing better today. I have back to back meetings all day (including a lunch meeting) which is going to be rough, and I have an overwhelming amount of work, but it'll happen one way or another. I did take tomorrow off which I'm extremely grateful for. I'm planning on only doing 1 hour a day on my qualifying exam this weekend so I can focus on relaxation to hopefully tame down the feelings of burnout.1
