@Faebert How old are your daughter's? Glad they are going to do the C25K with you. Hope they continue to enjoy it.
@Teresa502 Glad I could be an inspiration. I find if I will do better if I have a plan with various workouts.RunsOnEspresso wrote: Β»PastorVincent wrote: Β»Oh geeeeeeeeeeeze. Right. Sure. They will do that even when no one is staring right at them. π€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ
Yah, unsupervised teenagers following rules?

@PastorVincent YOWZA. Good luck! I'll be praying for you! Seriously!0 -
Rest day from running today. Yoga instead.
@quilteryoyo - good job on those hill repeats. I need to add those into my running routine. I've gotten into a habit of just going out lately. No speed work. No hill repeats. You've inspired me to do better!
@Faebert - how old are your daughters?
@Camaramandy648 - How do you like the Tailwind recovery? Sorry if I missed your review earlier.
Congrats on the new shoes @ABabilonia! I love my Brooks Ghosts. I try other shoes from time to time but always come back to them.
Glad your dad is doing better @kgirlhart!
9 and 11 @Teresa502 - old enough to cope with it easily enough, hopefully! Just dragging them away from screens... π¬2 -
8/3 - Estimated distance: 6.96 mi (11.22 km). Time: 93 min.
8/4 - Distance-3.44mi; Pace-11:44. Got to take out the new FitBit Charge 4 on today's run. This is my first fitness tracker and I'm...skeptical? It's nice to get more, and supposedly accurate data, but having to rely on another device is not something I am used to or want. I couldn't figure out how to stop the run, so actually, I think I saw the actual estimated pace to be 11:04, which makes me a lot more encouraged about my goal to get to a 10min/mile by the end of the month.
8/8 β 2.76mi. Pace: 10β58β
8/10 β 4.8mi. Pace: 11β03β
8/12- 2.74mi. Pace: 10β41β
8/14 β 3.56mi. Pace: 10β57"
It's about middle of August, and have not improved my pace very much. Now hoping to get to a consistent 10'30" by the end of the month.

In case y'all were wondering, big meanie dad called off the get together until the test results come back. I expect they will be negative, and I expect it would have been fine.
I am preaching on Sunday which means I can not self-isolate until Monday at the earliest if the test does come positive so that made a convenient excuse. Though to be fair, he is used to meanie dad "I said no, it is not up for discussion." - It is super nice mom that tries to explain and convince. π€·ββοΈ4 -
@Camaramandy648 You put in the training; just execute what you trained for. You've got this!!!1

Need to make up some distance from missing out on a couple days of runs. Thunderstorms roll in at inopportune times.2 -

@msapplek - remind me again how long you have been running?0 -
@PastorVincent Good call.0

I agree.1 -
8/8 3.5 miles 3.5/50
8/9 10.5 miles 14.0/50
8/12 4.0 miles 18.0/50
8/14 2.5 miles 20.5/50
This is strange/difficult for me dealing with this mileage goal, and seeing these distances.

@shanaber - I took up running this past April during lockdown. I've run 5Ks, 10Ks races and other fun runs here and there in the past, but then I made a declaration that running was behind me a few years ago because I was heavier/getting older and didn't think my knees could take the impact.
However, I decided to just start running again during lockdown since I had access and time. These past 5 months have been the longest stretch of time that I have been running with some regularity. Also, different from the past is that I'm able to run much longer distances, which really motivates me!
The pace, though, is the area where I am not seeing any progress, despite when I think I am making the extra effort.2 -

Happy Saturday everyone! Rainy morning here but I managed my long run with only a bit of drizzle rather than heavy downpour. Still a bit slower than Iβd like but Iβm not stopping at all and lots of hills to contend with. So I guess I should just be pleased and grateful Iβm able to run continuously for more than an hour and a half. Hopefully pace will improve over time...
Have a lovely weekend everyone x

Set out just to do a very slow 7-8 miles since it was so hot and humid (86F when I woke up at 4:30 am, 84F and 93F real feel at start of run). But I was at 5 miles at the far end of my out and back, so it turned into a 10 mile run Β―\_(γ)_/Β―Β Now heading into work.

@shanaber - Thanks for responding! I've been looking up tips and have been incorporating fartleks and some pace intervals. But despite those efforts, I haven't seen improvement. Yesterday was rather demoralizing because I was 2min slower than my usual on the run I do the most frequently (3.76mile), and this was me thinking the whole time during that run that I felt like I was going a little faster for once!2
