My "petty" reason I hate corona

I'm completely stealing this from someone on twitter so if you're here too, I'd screenshot but not sure I can on my tablet.
My petty reason is because I miss the free samples at trader joes.1 -

I'm running out of lambs blood to smear on my door.8

The bank. I had to make an appointment and drive 15 miles to cash in a $2,000 cd and put it in my checking account.
Not drive 2 miles and do it at the drive-thru. Now I have to make another appointment and drive 15 miles to order new checks. Or else figure out how to order them myself.3 -

My bank app has virtual deposit. You just take a pic of the check and it deposits. Does yours have that?3 -

Do you have your bank app on your phone? I ordered checks on mine. Wish I could have ordered one pack though, I rarely write checks anymore. I use my debit card.
My reason isn’t petty, but I hate that its been politicized in America. Nothing good has come from this, and a lot of deaths and sickness may have been avoided if it was handled better from the beginning, as done in other countries.6 -

Google, you can buy them online much cheaper than through the bank.

Right now my petty reason to be upset about COVID-19 is because I was very excited to start my MA (online so that hasn't been changed by COVID-19) and go to coffee shops and study the evening away in anonymous solitude. But that novelty has been taken away and an escape door to peace and quiet has been shut.
(To be fair, cafes are open in my city, I just think it's irresponsible to spend prolonged amounts of time in public if it's not needed. While I have not had any symptoms I don't want to put others at risk if I am asymptomatic. And besides, while I DO wear a mask when in public, I would not love wearing it for longer than needed. So at home studying it is)10 -
Some of my favorite food items at smaller, specialty shops are hard to find in stock now.3

We had a 3 week trip to visit my family set for June into early July. I am Canadian, loving in the US, the rest of my family still lives near where I grew up. My kids haven't seen their cousins in 2 years. Even my college aged kid was coming for half the trip.
Didn't happen.2 -
I understand. I have one daughter living in Europe and the other one on the west coast. WhatsApp is a blessing, but it doesn’t = IRL hugs.1

My son's wedding got cancelled in May after 2 years of planning, I had lost quite a bit of weight and now have to lose it again for hopefully next May.2

As an ex-banker, I would not recommend this. You are giving your bank account info to a 3rd party company that you have zero knowledge of their security protocols or enforcement. Whenever we had customers that had identity theft or fraud on their accounts, a lot of times it could be traced back to these online check printing companies. Employees will get approached by bad guys to sell them lists of customers names, account numbers, routing numbers, etc. If you want to be safe stick to your bank and pay the extra couple of bucks.13 -

Interesting. We have been using Checks Unlimited for years, going back to the times before they had an internet portal (use very few checks now). I could see where employees of the check printer could be approached by bad guys but it seems that would be an issue with the check printer used by the bank as well.
I doubt rhe bank would be accepting any liability if an employee of their service sold lists resulting in an issue.1 -
Some of my favorite food items at smaller, specialty shops are hard to find in stock now.
As per a now disappeared conversation thread from earlier this summer (LARGE SIGH), the smoked salt trio we chatted about is still over at IKEA if that's one of your specialty items. I finally picked mine up last weekend. 😉0 -
My petty reason to hate corona is that it makes me feel irresponsible or like an idiot. I am only going out when I truly have to, yet I have friends and family that have get togethers and short trips, and seem to find ways to "live" while I haven't. We did get together with my two kids and their families at home for Father's Day. I was so disappointed that we spent most of the time INSIDE (soooo hot outside), and no one was wearing a mask. So, I didn't either. I am now constantly debating with myself every time whether or not I should or shouldn't do this or that. If I say no, I feel like a paranoid over reacting fool. If I say yes, I'm irresponsible.7

rwecker5782- do NOT feel like a fool or paranoid-- this thing is REAL- I have had 4 family members to get COVID- one niece ended up in the hospital with breathing trouble- she finally got out the hospital but now has an oxygen tank-(she is only 40- and NO she did not have breathing issues before COVID)-- better safe than sorry esp. at our age!3 -

I picked up some around the time Tom suggested it. I was using it maybe a little too much, as I woke up with some pretty puffy eyes 👀. Really like it - and you?2 -

Oh no! Sorry about the reaction! I'm still finishing off the first box (from Maldon) before delving into the IKEA stuff. I rarely shop there so I knew I had to at least pick it up! I'll be sure to be careful when trying it!0 -
I would really love to buy some new clothes but I feel I need to try them on before I actually buy them. I do not want to guess and buy something that does not fit or look good. I have lost a significant number of pounds (over 50 lbs) and have no idea what size will fit. Stores I have been in will not allow me to try them on. I do not want to take them back. What a hassle and I am not sure them would allow returns anyway.5

@GreenValli
Amazon.com has a thing called Prime Wardrobe. You can try on clothing before you buy and returns are super easy.3 -

I hear you. I'm pretty much in the same situation. I used to hang out at coffee shops and bookstores to counter online study at home. I went on campus for the first 8 weeks of spring semester. Since then, it has been back to online/Zoom. All the best and let's hope that the situation changes.0 -

I hear you. Congrats on your weight loss, I am still shooting for that amount. Same store policies here. It reduces spending. I am de-cluttering and more careful about buying new under this store policy.0 -
My petty reason to hate Coronavirus - I found some wax melts online that were a dupe for my daughters all-time favourite Lush bath bomb and shower gel fragrance, The Comforter.
So I ordered a bunch of them to surprise her, and waited and waited. Almost a month later they turned up. In the meantime my daughter got the virus and, whilst recovered now, still has no sense of smell. 😢

wanderinglight wrote: »My petty reason is that I used to love grocery shopping, and now I hate it and I hate all my fellow shoppers 😂. Someone is always standing in my way or fondling the produce or drifting down the middle of the aisle in a daze or going through the checkout line with their mask pulled down, hoping the poor checkout girl calls them on it so they can go off on how their rights are being violated.
I made these masks and that made me feel better 😂
[snip]
@wanderinglight - I think you should try selling these masks on Etsy
If you want to just sell the design, you can have a company like teespring fulfill the order, which is what a former coworker friend is doing with mostly fitness related t-shirts, but some masks as well:

I need a new refrigerator. No one has them in the size that will fit the space in my kitchen. It’s a standard size, but only huge refrigerators are in stock right now. It’s a supply chain issue. Apparently manufacturers miscalculated and just as demand went up (because of everyone staying home and putting stress on their appliances?) they cut orders back. Plus issues related to manufacturing facilities being shut down and that shipping anything from overseas takes extra months as well.2

My petty reason is not being able to go to all the outdoor festivals, state fairs, craft fairs, etc. that I go to every year. The Spring and Summer just turned into a blur. And I retired at the end of March, just as the virus kicked off in NY (yay me!), so my plan to sell my condo and buy a place in Ireland has been put on hold as well. I feel like I'm in limbo.7

On the one hand, it doesn't matter that everything's closed because my boyfriend is having severe PTSD and doesn't want to leave the house. So I can't get mad at him for not going to the symphony with me. On the other hand, I'd like to DO SOMETHING on occasion besides go to the grocery store once a week.2
