Heather: love the new fridge! Enjoy!
Begging pardon as I try to post a pic using my phone. (Just in case there are a lot of flubs; I don't want anyone to think an infant has my phone)0 -
This cracked me up!The leaflet trying to explain that the fridge freezer makes noises.
Have any of you got a 0° drawer? Not very well explained.
Waiting for 21.30 to switch it on.

Heather: So Funny!

Heather, we have a drawer that keeps meat and fish, and some other items just barely above the brink of being frozen. I love it.
I also keep my soft goat cheese there because it keeps it just barely frozen, and I can grate it onto my beet and spinach salad.
You’ll find lots of uses for it, I’m certain.

Faye: In more adventurous days in years past we took our boat through the Cascade locks at Bonneville Dam. We stayed in the town of Cascade Locks for a few days and then came back downstream. It was a memorable experience. :flowerforyou: Your home is beautiful. :bigsmile
Katla in beautiful NW Oregon
Katla So many adventures in Oregon. I never went through the locks and haven't been in a boat for 20 years. I get sick very quickly on boats these days. Have you ever been on the Sternwheeler adventures? I was planning on it and saving for it and then I got sick and it was off my list. I did do the Hood River Murder Mystery Train before I got sick, and was fine until the return where they just reversed the train so I had to ride backward. I made it but had to sit sideways. They had the best prime rib dinner and local wine. The actors were superb.
Cascade Locks is a beautiful fun place. What a fun adventure for you and DH. You may recognize these small falls near Cascade.

Today is World Peace Day!
I think we could all use a little peace about now. "International Day of Peace—established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981 and first observed in 1982—is 'devoted to commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples.' In 2001, a resolution adopted by the General Assembly designated the International Day of Peace to be a 'day of global ceasefire and non-violence.'"
Machka - I think you're right, the planet is getting over-populated and this won't be the last pandemic. Hopefully we'll learn from it, because the next one could be much worse and this one is bad enough!
margaretturk - Goodness, I think I'd have to call that contractor's office and have a conversation about face masks.
Heather - "Duck Egg" is a gorgeous color! That's exactly the color I've been envisioning for our bedroom.
Tracey - The 1918 "Spanish" flu pandemic continued in some places as late as 1921. Perish the thought... We do have better medical tools now, but I think it's highly unlikely a vaccine will be available and affordable for everyone who needs it anytime soon.
Linda - We inherited what I guess you call a cottage in the Texas Hill Country from my mom and dad, and it's been such a blessing to have a place we could retreat to for a change of scenery. Of course, with four part-owners and a host of kids and cousins, we don't get there very often since we have to take turns now. But still, sometimes I just want to see something besides the inside of my own house.
Katla - We are getting pretty shaggy over here too. Philip hasn't been able to have a haircut since he is still having lingering effects of his Great Oak Mite Attack of 2020, and I work from home so I can just pull all of the longer hair up into a tiny topknot to keep it out of my eyes. Usually I just go to the barber but I'm waiting for him to be able to go with me this time.
I'm feeling ashamed of myself because the pandemic seems to have completely robbed me of self discipline. I've put on weight and my house is a mess. I guess I'm depressed and needing extra ooph to drag myself around, but aside from keeping up at work I'm having trouble getting anything at all done. I just need to be patient with myself and set a goal every day, even if it's a small one. I'm going to ask Philip to help me get back on track with exercise. We still aren't going to the gym, but it's finally cool enough now to make walking outside every day tolerable. It's been rainy all day today, though. Great for the trees but not so good for walkers.

Bwhaha! I still have a ways to go until any pics. I don't fast to lose weight amazingly. I just like how I feel, and how my body takes care of wounds, scars, blemishes, and my lichen sclerosis. All gone for the most part. I started at 249 and now I'm 235.4 lbs. Don't you worry, when I get down some I'll strike a pose! I appreciate y'all more than you'll ever know!💖

My snack was a hummus cup, a handful of Stacy's Bagel chips. Meal was 3 Klondike protein pancakes, and 2 eggs. Dessert was a chocolate chip cookie (last of the batter and like 2 chips) with walnuts crammed on it and coffee!
Oh and I made some blueberry compote with frozen blueberries, and real maple syrup, then a cup of cornstarch to thicken.
Yummy!💖

Eating like a queen for 2 hours every day!0 -
We've switched it on! Quite strange noises at the moment! No wonder they provide a leaflet. I've moved some shelves around. It's on at 5°. Might turn it down a bit tomorrow.

I found that if I cut way back on wheat products, I have much better skin. When I say "cut back," I mean less than a small slice of bread or slider bun per day. I had slacked off when sheltering in place started and within 2 days of stopping, my skin was amazingly clearer.
