shhhhhh! A little bird told me an official offer is being sent to me from HR. El Ranchon tonight!9

@KeriA - I hope it is! And congrats on the promotion!
I made it onto the treadmill today. Walked for 30min while listening to music and reading. I love reading when I walk on the treadmill because it makes time go by so fast! I wasn't down much this morning, but down is down and I'm happy!

@RavenStCloud I love yr mantra 'Just because you can, doesn't mean you should' speaks volumes about our journey! It's all about daily discipline over time!
@MuttiNM what a win for you to reach below 200! Well done! Having the coping mechanisms in place to handle your depression is definitely what will get you through your ups and downs without having to lean on food! In the meantime be kind to yourself, and enjoy your victory!
@Making_Impossible_Possible I love bagels so much I allocate them into my daily intake. I make a batch of sourdough bagels once a week and can have one at lunch with healthy toppings, its definitely a highlight!
@shorepine Hi! The food is definitely the most important thing to focus on! Good luck with your goals!

I haven't done well to start the month but am aiming to get on track starting today! Making a grocery list as we speak.
Found out earlier this week that my grandmother, who has been very ill for months, is not expected to recover. My dad along with his siblings are going through the house getting it cleaned up and ready to sell. Dividing everything amongst family members. Once again triggered my comfort food eating along with sugar. I am definitely an emotional eater.
My sister is coming to visit me in three weeks, so my goal is to get back on track and lose a few pounds before she arrives.
Goals for remainder of month:
Drink at least 60 ounces of water daily
Stay within calorie goal daily - track and post
Reduce sugar intake
No fast food4 -

🎃 October Goals 🎃
*log everyday, accurately and honestly: yes! Definitely too much sodium this week.
*workout 3-5 times per week, preferably 4
*be kind to myself: hit my goal of 4x this week with two in the morning. I always feel better after a morning workout because it’s done and out of the way.
*become more creative with food choices/options: yes, I’m trying to switch it up a bit more.
So, a slight gain, but I’m also down from where I was in the middle of the week, so I guess that’s a positive? At least it’s the weekend 😊3 -

Goal weight: 180 lbs

I have been logging my food for about a month now and am already starting to feel better. I'm not as hungry as before and don't want to snack all of the time.
I was last dedicated to losing weight from January-May of 2016. In May of 2016 I was at the lowest weight I can remember being at 210. That was also when I found out I was pregnant with my first child. After he turned one I was ready to start focusing on myself again and then I found out I was pregnant again in March of 2018. My son will turn 4 in February and my daughter will turn 2 next month and I am ready to start giving myself some attention again! The last couple of weeks have been stressful with trying to get my son to go #2 in the potty so I feel like i am hanging onto my weight a little due to stress even though I am staying at my daily calorie goal.
A couple of goals for me for October are:
1.) Stop stressing about potty training!! I worry and beat myself up about it too much.
2.) Spend more quality time with my husband.
3.) Start doing some daily activities to get back into exercising. Going on walks with the kids after work or riding the exercise bike in our basement for 30 min./day are something that I can manage right now. No time to go to a gym and that's really not an option anyway with the pandemic.

Hi all!
I’m not new to MFP, I’ve actually been with the app for about 7 years now. I always wonder how much better I’d feel now had I been consistent with my weight loss journey but it’s never too late to start over so here I am! I’ve been really focusing on just lowering my caloric intake and moving more and in the last month or so I’m down from 258 to 242! Being this close to the 230’s is so exciting because it’s been over five years since I’ve seen that number on the scale!
I’d love to see your beautiful faces on my newsfeed so feel free to add me!
SW: 258
Current: 242
First Goal: 220
End Goal: 180
Monthly Goal: Have a perfect month in my fitness app on my Apple Watch. And drink more water.6 -
Good morning! I am feeling good after a solid week of logging. The scale has come down a bit too, I'm hoping it sticks for my weigh in next week. That is good incentive to stick with things through the weekend. I get annoyed at myself looking back at my weight log and realizing I have to lose the same 10 pounds over and over. This time, I want it to be for good. I really do think I'm on a roll right now though. I had an epiphany about how good it would feel to shed a few pounds going into the winter, and suddenly, the desire for that feeling has outweighed the desire to compulsively eat junky stuff. Let's hope that keeps up.
@KeriA a big congratulations on the new job!
@Tarzan37 I am really sorry to hear about your grandmother. I am an emotional eater, too, so I understand how that works. I am glad you have your sister's visit to look forward to in a few weeks. Right now, it feels important to have things to look forward to.
@torih941 yay- you are back in the 230's! Also, great attitude. That is half the battle. I know you'll stay there from now on.
@dprus2 I have had similar struggles with my weight since having my first kid 8 years ago. before that, I was at a healthy weight for a long time (6 years) after losing a bunch of weight in my 20s. I slimmed down a tiny bit in between kids, and then after my second kid it's been a lost cause. It is a challenge as a mom, there are so many other demands on our attention. Try not to worry too much about the potty training, it will happen. Some kids take longer than others. My son wasn't fully potty trained until just before 3 years old, and I know it takes even longer for a lot of kids.

@shorepine
Thank you. I read your earlier post and can relate to so much. I am still going in to work, but a lot of the evening and weekends I am with the kids more than my husband. He has been working from home since March and while our kids are watched at home by our moms, he is in and out of the office interacting with the kids throughout his work day.
I cannot imagine how stressful some of your days can be with working and homeschooling! It must be very challenging at times. You are doing a great job!4 -
OFFICIAL FRIDAY WEIGH-IN
Age: 41
Height: 5'3"
SW (8/10): 208.6
Aug end: 205.6
Sept end (9/25): 204.6
10/2: 206.4
10/9: 204.0
1st GW: 200!!
UGW: 140
Goals so far:
Log my food every single day, good and bad
Drink at least 64 oz of water daily
Workout 5 times a week, but also I want to increase the time that I workout each day from 30 minutes to one hour (gradually). I haven't done 5 times a week, but I am increasing the time!!
I got a new bathroom scale on Monday, the other one was giving me too many different weights from one moment to the next. I even changed the battery and it was doing the same thing. It was pretty old already, had it for about 5 years I think. I'm happy with this new scale. Gives me the same amount every time I step on it.5 -
It feels good to be back on my diet but I am having real fatigue issues yesterday and today. I'm glad dinner is just taco salads all round, because I'm going to lie down for an hour before dinner.3

Every time I see the name of this group I smile! I appreciate all of you and your stories. I’ve been trying to eat right and keep moving even with a ruptured hamstring. I can feel myself gaining through the fit of my clothes. It’s so disturbing. So, I finally called my primary who wants to do a blood work up for a bunch of stuff including thyroid. I know 60 is the new something and I’ve never let age slow me down, but this past year I have felt changes. Not being able to play tennis twice a week like I always have to keep my body and mind together has really affected me. So I’ve decided to walk and lift weights while I’m waiting for results and then beyond. I’m slower than usual but I am still moving forward and hopefully I can melt off this spare tire which will be good for body and soul. My daughter and I have been rattling around a huge old house and I just took the major step of speaking with a realtor! Wow, my heart was pounding. But I’ve been managing the house, yard, garden, pool etc alone plus work and grad school. Am I out of my mind? No wonder I am gaining .. stress pounds .. I am visualizing an airy little bungalow near the water where I can show off my great MFP body!! I am committed. I think I have to lower my carbs. That seems to be the only thing that works.11

I'm 5'10, in my 30s, and a vegetarian.
My goals are staying under on my calories and moving more. I just bought a zumba kit off eBay today, I used to do Zumba ALL THE TIME in my early 20s. I want to get back to it, especially with yucky weather coming soon. My goal is to be 280 by the new year, or lower if possible I'm working my tail off, literally!12 -

October and November are really hard for me do you Halloween 🎃 but also the anniversary of my moms passing and our birthdays we celebrate together. I am also an emotional eater but have been doing better. I need to lose weight to get taken off some of my medication (I currently take like 12 a day) and I’m pre-diabetic. My dietician and doc who are working with me informed me of this app and how it keeps track of the measurements, plus it’s easy for them to see a log of my foods.
Overall I just want to be healthy and able to be with my two boys who are my world. But first I need to take care of mommy so we can enjoy life together.9 -
Thanks, @changeforeverlj ! My son took a 1/2 day of vacation today and went for a 28.5 mile bike ride with me to celebrate. Although that's not much for him (he rode his bike across the US in 5 weeks earlier this year) and many others, it was a new record for me and definitely something I could not have done 200+ pounds ago!8

Get at least 45 "active" minutes a day 🎃
Get at least 10,000 steps/day 🎃
I made a concerted effort to control my night time snacking this week and as soon as I did the weight dropped quickly! All those extra night time carbs were leading to water retention. This morning I'm at a new all time low (well, at least since I was 25).6 -
@Tarzan37 Sorry to hear the sad news about your grandmother. Glad you have a visit to look forward to.
@torih941 Funny I am thinking of getting more formulaic with meals since I have been doing some more cooking being unemployed but need to dial that back a bit with going back to work. However some of the new meals were easy to make.
@Lasmartchika My scale isn’t that old but it sounds like your old scale. I have to put in the same place exactly so that I can get a relative weight from the last time.
@micwrites and @orangequilt I want a great new lufey too! But I would have a hard time giving up a pool right now that I can’t go to the Gym for Aqufit. However living near the water would make up for a lot.
@MuttiNM Wow!
@speyerj you are doing great staying in that range!
Okay I am done with that big busy week. I only exercised once. I had one really low calorie day and one really high calorie day and the rest at or under my calorie goal. I haven’t had enough water or sleep in the last 3 days or so since I have had to get up early each morning. Last night we had a late night appointment which was originally for 11AM.
So I plan to get back into my healthy routines now. I will be thinking about also establishing ones that will work when I start working remotely since that is pretty much a given if not official. I need to do some meal planning but we did get some groceries.6 -

Hey everyone! My name is Quinn and I’m new to the group but grateful I found this thread.
My food goals this month:
Follow my Doctor guided eating program
Hit my water goal
Be more active
My exercise goals this month:
To close my rings on my Apple Watch each day
30 minutes of exercise , burn my calories and get enough standing in.
I am currently going through some health issues at 35 and it’s been a struggle to keep positive on the inside for the sake of my family. I’m currently going through a weight loss pre-surgery meal plan because of a neurological disorder has gotten worse due to my weight. It’s rough because I get winded so easy from walking but it’s the only exercise I’m cleared to do right now.
I’m trying to stay the course but it’s so easy to fall for the ‘come on, this won’t hurt you’ and I have to learn to say no.

Sunday Check-in
SW 230.78 lbs (16/03/2020) 104.9 Kgs
28/09 75.8 Kg 166.76 (-1Kgs) (-2.2lbs)
5/10 75.7 kg 166.54 (-0.1kg) (-0.22lbs)
11/10 74.9 kg 164.78 (-0.8kg) (-1.98lbs)
I've weighed in a day early, as we are having a Chinese meal to celebrate my mom's bday today, I want to at least eat small portions of it! Today also coincides with the last day of my month 7 challenge. I've officially lost 30kgs, or 66lbs since 16th March 2020! This journey has changed how I think about food and exercise, I hope forever! My goal is to lose another 15kgs or 33lbs before June 2021 (I turn 50) I would also like to be able to run 10km comfortably by then. I run again tomorrow and it's 8 min which is a significant amount for me! Yesterday I had ran3 x5min, the last run I really pushed myself and towards the end sprinted! I felt like I was winning a race, 7 months ago I was battling to walk in the am because of sore heels! Since the weight loss its a thing of the past!
@speyerj Well done you've had a lovely whoosh! This month I've lost less than before, however, I'm not as strict as I want to learn to eat anything in moderation before it was all or nothing, more of the All!
@mzsha90 Well done on taking control of your health! You can definitely turn the pre-diabetes around to no diabetes, just keep at it daily!
Hello to newbies, welcome to this lovely group of supportive ladies! It changes your weight loss journey when you do it together!

Good morning lovely ladies! Oh how I have missed you! I have had a lot going on in the last few months and was feeling overwhelmed and lost. Even though I was logging daily my heart just wasn't in it. I found old eating habits slipping back in and honestly gave into them. Of course that leads to feelings of guilt and then more bad eating habits. Vicious cycle. So scary how it is to do a backwards slide.
Today I am refocusing and making myself a priority again. My goal for the rest of this month is to come here daily even if I dont post. Your posts keep me grounded and motivated. I thank you for that. Have a wonderful Sunday! 💕11 -
@Candyn617 - Welcome back, you've got this!

Didn't meet my goal for the week, or for the last 2 weeks, but I've got a good feeling about this next week!
You guys! I made it through the weekend without eating the house down! My usual is eating okay all week then totally undoing all my work on the weekends. I told myself I wasn't going to do that this weekend, and I havent. I've logged everything I've ate and drank lots of water and walked on the treadmill (didn't use it yesterday, but walked 60min today). I've got all my lunches made (everything weighed and logged) as well as my dinners for the week, so all I gotta do is stick to it and exercise!5 -
I put up the air bed in the sewing room (After moving boxes of fabric and taking down my sewing table) so that Boyfriend can try sleeping in there and see if he has an easier time sleeping in a different bed than usual. What the heck, it might work. (shrug)
It's been a pretty quiet day. Of course, since I pulled the air conditioners out of the windows, now it's warmed up again, but it's cool at night and it's October, it will be cooling off soon.
I did a lot of preplanning work, including writing down exactly where all I need to paint and patch in the house, and mudded a couple of spots where that hadn't been done. I can sand the two spots tomorrow, and with any luck tomorrow I can get the master bedroom done, because if I leave the airbed up he can go nap in there if he needs to during the day, and won't have to deal with paint fumes.
Tuesday Girlfriend and I have eye appointments, so we'll go together and have Boyfriend drive us because they might dilate my eyes and I cannot drive if they do that. I get a raging migraine almost immediately. Thank all the gods that only has to happen once a year. Then Wednesday he has an ENT appointment in the morning and then a telemedicine appointment for PTSD therapy in the afternoon. And Friday he has his own eye appointment, to which I will drive him. I'm really not planning to get much done this week beyond maintenance level cleaning in the house, because he's dealing with a lot of flashbacks and triggers and the anniversary of the incident that gave him the PTSD is coming up, and he's needing a lot of support from me. But with any luck he'll click with this therapist and we can get him some support through the next couple months.2 -
Hello lovely ladies! Monday here! I did my 2 x 8min runs, done and dusted. Next is a full 20 min run, that's a big milestone, I'm so excited, I know I can do it! We had our Chinese meal birthday celebration, honestly, the food was quite greasy and not as wonderful as I remembered!
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 Goodluck for this week, looks like you have a tough one ahead!
