Haven't been here in forever! Said I wouldn't pay to run a 5k but I did and I loved it and I got 2nd place in my age category 30:20:04 (9:46 minute miles)! I'm so proud of what these short, little legs did for me today! Surprise surprise! Happy Halloween, everyone!

Great job. You may find those age group podiums are addictive.

Great job everyone who met their goals, were oh so close, and those who did their best.

@polskagirl01 Glad the drunk was harmless and couldn't keep up with you.

@LoveyChar Yeah for the age group placement! That's a fantastic pace.

Has anyone heard from @Camaramandy648 lately? Seems like it's been a while since she has commented.

She has been very active on Instagram. She's putting in some big miles.

I ran the Trek or Treat 5k yesterday, which is the first in-person race I’ve seen here in awhile. They asked everyone to wear masks until the race started, and everyone stood a good distance apart while awaiting the awards ceremony.

My fastest 5k before yesterday had been 27:31, and my recent goal has been to improve on that time (I need a break from long-distance training). I felt really good during the run and realized as I was about a mile into it that I could pick up the pace some and still feel good. I ended up running each mile faster than the previous (!), and my race time ended up being 26:54! However, Garmin and Strava showed that the course was a little long, and my fastest 5k distance within it was 25:36. So, I got PRs on both a race and on actual 5k distance. Really proud of myself. Now I just need to keep working at it so that maybe I can place in my age group next time.

I was short of my goal since I didn’t run for a couple of days due to my migraine, but hopefully I can do better in November.

    Great times!!!

@durhammfp Sounds like you did have a very productive rest week. Until I started running, I had no idea that there were different ways to lace your shoes to make them fit better.

I ended the month with a bit of whimper or a sigh. A run got done, but that's about all there is to say about the running part. I did a fantastic hike though and I will update that in the November thread because probably not many are still looking here.

Total miles were well short of my goal and my lowest mileage month in well over a year. But onward and upward.

Congrats everyone who ran this month and great job to those who are recovering and taking it slowly.
