Lanette – I’m so sorry about your relative. Tell me, what is a “shirttail” relative? I’ve never heard of that

    Katie
    – I have my phone with me right now. The problem is that the pockets on my pants many times are not deep enough for a phone, which is why I was looking for a smaller pedometer/calorie tracking/now time of day device I could just pop in my pocket (I’m afraid it might fall off my waist). So glad to hear about your aunt

    Michele NC

Michele - in this case, these "shirttail" relatives were my brother's wife's brother and wife. No blood relation at all, another branch on my brother's family tree. My siblings' in-law's siblings, lol. That's how my folks referred to our relative's relatives by marriage when I was growing up. :) I've also heard it in reference to 3rd and 4th cousins with whom I might share three drops of blood, lol.

I missed part of the conversation - are you looking for a pedometer and watch? I bought this when my Fitbit gave out early this year and I didn't want to spend $100.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M4MA52B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I stick it right inside my bra cup where it resides safe and sound. Counts steps and gives time. Hard to read unless I'm in a private setting tho ;)

But you can use the lanyard and let it dangle from your neck inside your shirt. I think it's still fairly accurate doing it that way. And it does have a clip for your pants if you prefer.

Lanette – what I’m looking for is a pedometer/time of day (watch)/gives calories burned. Right now I’m looking at the Realalt 3D pedometer. I’d like something that I can just put in my pocket. See, on some of my pants, the pockets aren’t very deep so a cell phone just barely fits. I don’t care for the way the Fitbit looks, I think all of them are on the wrist and that’s just never appealed to me. I’m afraid (because this happened to me once) that if I have something that clips onto the waist, I will lose it. I just looked at the link you gave. Hey! That’s the same one I’m looking at!!!! GMTA, that’s for sure. How do you like yours? How difficult is it to change the battery?

A friend sent these to me and I hate to say it -- but what is it used for? The three screws on the top is what's throwing me off. Is it a wall decoration? She painted it. It's of the four seasons, two on one side and two on the other

I think they are ceiling fan blades, but that still doesn't help with what you are supposed to do with them. You could put them on a ceiling fan? Or perhaps they are just to hang.

They are really cool. Nice of her to send them to you.

DH was gone for ages, but some of that was waiting for the doctor to deal with an emergency. The doc spent 40 minutes with him.!!!!! No conclusions. He thinks he is amazing for his age. Not bothered about the wheezing. Doesn't seem worried by the fuzzy night head. Just given him stronger painkillers for his back along with something to help them not damage the stomach. So basically, nothing. ;)
I hope it reassures DH. The doc is going to ask for the heart reading from the hospital when he had his knock on the head as his heart rate is in the high 40s. It always has been as he is very fit and has always done a lot of exercise.

Oh well. If DH can get a few good nights' sleep that will help him.

I cooked a spinach and feta pie this afternoon. Haven't had it for ages. We love it. Got a third left for tomorrow lunch.

Zooming with my girlfriends tomorrow. :D<3

Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx and hallo Suzanne! I used to live 10 miles from Southampton. B) I'm now in Brighton and Hove.

Michele I agree I think she repurposed ceiling fan blades. If you have a place I would hang them and flip them occasionally. If not to your taste find someone who likes them or donate them. Since the backs are painted you might have to be careful where you hang them the paint might rub off onto the wall.

Machka: You live in a very beautiful place. I think so every time I see a photo. Keep them coming! :star:

Lisa: I hope your medicine turns up soon. :flowerforyou:

Lanette: I just returned from the grocery store. I bought sparkling water and hamburger, along with one package of TP and two chocolate chip cookies. So far I’ve only eaten one cookie. :embarassed:

Suzanne in Ontario CAN: Welcome!!! :star:

Allie: It sounds as though you are being treated well in the hospital. Good news! :flowerforyou:

I had my mammogram this morning and asked the technician to let me see the pictures. She said okay and I got to look. The doctor will look at the results and determine whether I need any treatment. I strongly doubt there is anything to worry about. I went directly to the grocery store from there & did some shopping before coming home.

Michele--They have fitbits that go in your pocket. I agree I think they are fan blades. Very pretty.

Well it was just a matter of time before this happen. Last Saturday in one of the stores here a man hit another man for standing to close and not wearing a mask. So the man got arrested.

    Tracey--Love the stocking.

Allie--Hope they can find what is going on and you go home with the right treatment.

Lisa--Pray your meds show up soon. That is one of the reasons I dislike mail order for meds. I like being able to just go pick them up.

Here the doctors and nurses are pleading with us to just have immediate household for Thanksgiving. We are going to celebrate it on Tuesday because our son works on Thursday as of now. I am hoping they temporarily shut down the casino where he works. We will need to take extra precautions when he is here because of his job It is just too important to see him after losing his brother. He is the only one I will spend time socially. I do still go to store and walk Drew. In store always masked up, gloves, and glasses. I do walk Drew outside without mask but I do make sure I stay away from others.

Where my sister works at an assisted living home, they have had covid out breaks from workers that also work at the Indian casino(they don't have to follow the same rules at the casino as the rest of the county I guess). Those workers who have tested positive and are now back at work are supposed to only work in the covid wing and come and go from the back entrance, not go into the main lobby, but they have been seen hanging out in the front lobby. They are not being careful and the other workers are paying the price- testing every three days, temp checks at least 2-3 times a day. She is not allowed to go into the building on her day off, wears mask/face guard/gloves/etc and is working 12 hr shifts 5-6 days a week. She looks beyond exhausted.

Allie - I know it sounds awful, but the good news is they found out what is wrong and they can fix it. I have great faith in those heart surgeons. You will be amazed at how much energy you have when you are all healed up. Sending lots of love and hugs. <3<3<3
And just think, you definitely made the right judgement call. :) Well done. <3

Oh, Allie, my dear girl - it's not what you wanted, I know, but at least the medicos finally got on the ball and got you a diagnosis and a plan of action. I so hope there is someone there that can help - Tom and Elena come to mind. You've certainly been there enough for them (and Homer, and Tom's dad). Ask for help, Allie. Thinking of you...

I would buy a temperature gauge and mount it on the one with the beach. Yep she repurposed some fan blades as her canvas. Maybe a hook for keys, or leave open for the swan one. The three mounting holes are just there because that was how it was connected to the fan middle. Nice!
