I have been using this thread and the tools on MFP for years to help me with my journey to health and fitness. I've lost weight, kept it off, and made supportive friends who have made the journey easier.
I invite you to join us and change your life.
Some of us make goals and resolutions for the month and others take life one day at a time. Whatever your approach, you'll find support and encouragement here.
Please sign your post with a name of nickname and a location, specific or general, so we can better get acquainted with each other.

My word for 2021 is "lighten up". It refers both to my weight and to my approach to life.

As always thank you Barbie, I can’t believe we are into March already. I feel this year is going very fast.
I had a surprise video call this afternoon from my Granddaughter, she figured it out herself without any help.

Welcome to March1 -
Julie – ((HUG))
katla – Trust me, I’ve tried arranging a zoom meeting (facetime). Never got an answer as to when a good time was. There’s just so much I can do. We didn’t have to wait in line for our jabs. Regarding calories I cookies: you may not be a God, but if you do put those cookies on top of the refrigerator, those nasty calories get scared and jump out….lol. So glad to hear that you got scheduled for your jabs.
Barbara – lovely flowers. You are one lucky gal
There was going to be a launch tonight so we just went to Firehouse Subs to get something to eat. Had a turkey sub. Unfortunately, with 29 seconds to go, they scrubbed the mission. Hopefully, it’ll go up again before we leave.
Kim CA – congrats on fixing that garage door opener yourself
The guys went to Waffle House and I went in the pool. That I don’t mind at all. I’m not at all crazy about WH. Vince was saying that on each of the tables is this QR that you scan with your phone and up pops the menu. I thought this was a neat idea. He said they do have some menus if you request them. He did notice that some people asked for physical menus and when they were done the guy just put them back in the pile.

Thanks Barbie.💖.
I am always happy to reset, with this group. I have been busy with my letter writing these days. I seem to have added 10 more, so my letters received weekly is about 6. It keeps my life in check, putting my priorities in order. Plus its kind of like writing in a gratitude journal, but then you stick it in an envelope and put a stamp on it. So its a way to cope. I joined a 100 fast challenge group and have 3 days under my belt and 2 lbs lost as well. I will take them! Today's feast was a turkey, cheese, and tomato sandwich, some leftover coleslaw, and a couple pieces of teriyaki chicken. I didn't eat the skin, and it was more picking out the chicken than getting big pieces.
I have put my large coffee maker away and am doing just instant coffee. I have found with the pot of coffee I was drinking more, and along with each cup was 3 tsp of sugar. So the instant isn't as strong, plus I use some creamer with coconut cream, and almond milk. It has no sugar. So that's been good.
Thanks again Barbie!

Barbie thanks for starting us off.
Heather that's great that the uk is leading in vaccinations. we have no perspective in vaccinations, maybe for all of 2021, according to what i read. It's true it's better we understand so many mental health conditions better than in the past.
Ginny, I hope you feel better soon. What essential oils will you use? Eucalyptus?

BARBIE thanks for our March thread
HEATHER lovely meeting on the beach. My 2 grands are 20 and 18 and haven’t seen them for over a year. They are both on Autistic spectrum so don’t communicate very well on phone or computer, they are much better face to face, at least with me, not sure about with their friends.
Haven’t been logging or weighing myself or exercising regularly but got on scales this morning and I’m 3 lbs down since 1 Feb. Don’t know how but will take it.
We have been watching a Russian series on NF called Silver Spoon, about a rich spoiled bloke forced to become a policeman by his father. It’s quirky but touching at times and has a background story. We are part way through Season 2, I believe they have made a third but that’s not on NF. The lead is quite cute too 😀
Stay safe

Morning, afternoon and evening, my friends, and thank you, Barbie, for centering us once more into our own process and progress. I depend on it, and read daily, whether I post or not.
My goals for February were to be lighter, be healthier, and stick to a budget. I'm exactly the same weight, and here on Day 3 of the 5th round of antibiotics for the SIBO, am telling myself I do feel better. It might even be true. Not really sure I can even remember what normal feels like. Did keep us to budget, too, so I'm calling it all a qualified win.
My goals for March are to be lighter, be healthier and stick to a budget. Surprise!
My words for the year are "still" and "no," and can be used together or separately. "Still" apparently means that my bacterial overgrowth is still growing, and I am definitely over THAT, but still chugging. More hopeful for a March resolution than I was yesterday. Very rollercoastery emotions about the whole mess. Starting over again each month feels like the definition of insanity - doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results.
"No," on the other hand is an active negation. No, I will not let another person tell me how I feel. My choice, my construction.
Ahh... Need to make Corey his go-cup of coffee and wave him off to work... I've got everything lined up to try the two-ingredient bread - plain yogurt and self-rising flour this morning. I'll let you know how it works.
Oh, and neither of us (to our knowledge) came up with COVID symptoms, now two weeks after Corey's boss came up with the cooties, so dodged a bullet there, apparently, and happy about that.
Happy March,
Lisa in AR7 -
Time flies! March, ALREADY?!
Thank you Barbie for bringing us into another month and for being a constant in our little stream of life and all of the stresses and worries that go with it!
Machka- Your mindful march calendar just sent me to on a side tangent to the actionforhappiness site. That is a nice little site with a lot of ideas for living a happier life. Do you use the app or have it bookmarked on your computer?
Pip- The house is looking fantastic! Remind Yogi to flip and get the underside "tan" as well!
Tracey- I got a giggle at your granddaughter figuring out how to facetime/skype with you! I get so tickled when I answer those random calls from Joaquin! Warms my heart that the minute he gets mama's phone he finds the viber app and calls me. The view (from our end) is always a hoot, as well! Full face, sometimes just eyes, forehead, and nose...too sweet! Your granddaughter sure looks a LOT like you!
Lisa- I love hearing about your cooking/baking challenges. I can just picture you, like a mad kitchen scientist! lol
Our Gingerbread Geography is going well. Three of our gingerbread men have already visited three different families and we have five different states visited. The other four gingerbread men are lingering at their host family homes or are in transit to the next family. But the kids are enjoying the posts and pictures and we have a map that we are tracking Gmen travels. My Gman will travel to Texas with me and visit my grandsons for a week, then head off to another spot. Other than the Gingerbread Geography, we are heading into our spring studies. I love this time of year and learning/teaching about nature, growth, watching the winter melt away and green things begin to bud. It is like magic.
Ten more days until Colin and I are off to Texas. It is going to be a short trip (only 3 1/2 days) but I am SO looking forward to it!
First of my kiddos have arrived, so I better scoot! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Happy March 1!
Thank you Barbie for another fresh start!
Word for the year- Light. Be the light for someone every day including myself.
February goals-well......We will just say I failed meeting those goals.
March- may be harder to hit because of work ramping up
Hot tub 5x week
10,000 steps DAILY
Water hit goals DAILY
Those sound like good foundations.
Julie They are separate washer and dryer. Just a pair so they match as it is the first thing seen coming in the door. No one uses our front door.
I washed our comforter (king size) and it actually washed and dried! My old machines weren't large enough. Also washed the car covers. They spent time draped over pool table to dry.
I really hate that I now need to wash the shop towels in them! Will have to run a cleaning cycle after those.
Another lazy Sunday, but things washed and some paperwork done for work. So not all bad.
Pip- looking good!
Love you ladies! You are AMAZING WOMEN!
Have a blessed day and
Make the best choices you can!

Kylia, I love your washer and dryer. I am happy that ours continue to work well but I am envious at the sight of your beautiful new ones.
We have no intention of doing anything different after we get our second jab. We will continue to get curbside delivery of groceries and limit our going anywhere else. I got a jury summons for May and accepted their offer to postpone it for six months due to Covid related concerns. Now my summons is for November and that is likely to be the first time I go indoors anywhere with more than five people in the building.
I just figured out why I'm not setting goals or resolutions for the month. So many things have become habits and I just continue them (drinking water, walking 10,000 steps, logging food and exercise, etc). It's the same reason that none of us lists brush teeth, bathe, wear clean clothes, etc. They are habits that we do without thinking.
Jake wants to send birthday cards to some friends so he plans to be at Walgreens the minute they open and buy cards and his favorite candy. The store is practically empty at that time.

Happy March Ladies!
Thanks for giving us a fresh start yet again Barbie!
We are now starting our 2nd week with limited water. The well company made it out last Friday and as feared, our pump for the well was killed in the winter storm. The pumps are in short supply, as is the truck to pull the old one from the bottom of the well and drop the new one. We are hoping that they will have the pump in by next week. We still have a bit of water in our holding tank and are using it for flushing. We are having a water company truck us in a load of water to fill our holding tank back up so we will have water to flush until the pump is replaced. It could be so much worse. We have the money to pay for the repair (not that you ever want to have to do that) so I consider us fortunate.
Have a great start to March! I too am hoping this years March is better than last years.

Campground opening went well. No problems. About half full so not bad at all.
More walking now which I really need! Lost 4 pounds in February. Here’s hoping another 4 goes!
My word for the year is Perseverance . This refers to my finances and health changes.
Hoping to get interview this week so I can start. The teacher I know tells me they are really short on subs/teachers. HR in every company/organization I’ve had business with are slow so no news there.

Julie-actually I just used some lavender last night. Woke up with no sore throat! Also, my one cat had been sneezing horrible all last week. I think the extra humidity in the house has helped her. Of course, once summer hits here I will be running ac to cut back on some of the lovely outdoor humidity!
Pip-enjoy watching transformation of your new home.
Barbara-don’t know what it is with the clothes. Got distracted with a phone call with a friend last night and they are still here looking at me today!
Tracey-it is amazing how young children are figuring out technology. She is cute!
Kylia-nice washer and drier. I am not surprised people enter your house by other than the front door!
Okie-glad you do have some options for yourself. Texas got hit amazingly hard. I feel bad for all, but especially those with no options or means.
First day of March off to a good start. A bit cold and windy here but the sun is shining. Work is moving along, one item at a time. Looking forward to gym this afternoon.
Waiting to hear from doctor regarding tests last week. Part of me hates the fact that they release results and you are left wondering what it means. Nothing to do except put one foot in front of the other and do the next right thing. Back to work!
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio

Kylia love the wool balls in the dryers. I have some silicon ones I use to keep things from twisting in the dryer.
Walking is out today. We got wet snow that some of it melted and not our temps are now in the twenties. Then we got another fine layer of snow overnight. You cannot see the ice under the snow. Drew will get her outing in the fenced yard today. I got exercise by shovelling again and going up and down the stairs. I also play the treat game and chase the squirrel toy with Drew to get her running and more exercise for her.
Tomorrow afternoon we will be in the forties again so should be able to walk then.3 -

Barbie: Thank you so much for the March thread. I appreciate you and our wonderful group of Women 50+. You all make my life better.
Rita: Perseverance is an excellent word choice, and something we all need to create good lives for ourselves.
Margaret and Kylia: I also put something in the dryer to help with tumbling our wash. I use tennis balls. These have never been used on anything but tumbling laundry in the dryer.
We are looking forward to our first CoVid vaccinations. DH has his first appointment later today. My first appointment will be tomorrow morning. I am looking forward to both of our vaccinations, because we can begin to return to things we love and have been unable to do.
HAPPY MARCH!!!
