I would love to start this again. This time April-July 31? Would that be good? And not 30 pounds LOL maybe 10-20? What are your thoughts all?
April thru July is exactly 13 weeks. I've read the recommended safe weight loss rate as being one or two pounds per week, so that would be 13-26 pounds total. But that's meant to be an upper limit I think, although some people are able to exceed that. Others are much closer to their goal weight, so half a pound is still an accomplishment. It really depends on each persons circumstances. I like shooting for the stars, so I'll go with 26 pounds!
Wise comments. I will definitely set the parameters like you suggest. It makes sense.7 -
Monday March 23rd Check In
SW 162
GW 140
Today's Weight 155.2
Very surprised the numbers on the scale are not up much more!
Very off track with MFP goals last week and only one day into this week already.
Gonna keep trying to re-balance life, and stick with something I want to do for myself....stay on MFP, record calorie intakes, make healthy nourishing food choices, get more exercise and keep connected with the positive folks here in this group. So glad I found you!!!7 -

Today at work, my colleague said wow I can see you slimmed down. She said all your walking is paying off. But honestly the weight lost has plateaued but I must have lost some inches or centimeters or millimeters.
What I plan on doing for the new thread is I'm going to take my measurements down for myself so I can see more than just weight loss in terms of pounds.
11/28/20 191
12/5 191
12/12 186
12/19 185
12/25 184.2
1/3/21 184
2/6 182
2/14 181
2/19 179
3/6 178.7
3/22 179.1
You have done amazing!!! Taking measurements is just as important as the scale!!! Looking forward to our next challenge7 -
Good morning ALL!!! I've been quiet on the progress reporting lately! Not gunna lie, I've been struggling with the slow weight loss but in all reality I have not followed the program as good as I could have! In saying that, I've lost 17.6lbs since December 2019 and have enjoyed many treats along the way! What I'm striving for the next few months is continued weight loss and loss of inches while enjoying life, because as we all know, it's all too short! I hope you all are having an amazing week and I just want to say thank you for sharing your journey's as each one of you inspire me...we are all in this together and have the same struggles!! Strive for progress, not perfection
Take care, Shannon
December 2019 - 176.2
December 2020 - 164.8
March 2021 - 158.67 -
I'm glad the thread is continuing because I need it. I've gone off the rails. My husbands birthday ran into our anniversary and it's been non stop eating. I'll get back on the scale Saturday. ugh!7

You're 158! That is my goal for this next challenge. I really felt good before Covid (about 1.5 years ago) I weighed 158 and I felt thin enough. I bet you look great! It's true- we are in this together!!7 -

Truly, we don’t need to deny ourselves foods we enjoy. But we do need to practice moderation. Smaller, appropriate portions can be incorporated in our “diet”.
There are, however, some foods I used to binge on and, so, I don’t have them in the house. I’ve declared these “special occasion” foods. It’s just my way of maintaining control over those evil foods, lol.
My “special occasion” foods are alcohol, salty white carbs (crackers, chips), and sweets. Of these I’ve only had one mixed drink since first of the year (special occasion: visiting daughter). Thankfully the salty and sweet cravings have left me.
What foods have all of you given up or declared “special occasion” only?5 -

Great question! My special occasion food that I used to always have on hand and ate nearly everyday after supper is ice cream. It’s the one thing that I just can’t do ‘in moderation’ I decided I would no longer buy it but if me or the kids wanted to have some, we could walk over to the convenience store and buy a single treat. But...I have not yet done this in 3 months!! And I don’t miss it 😀
However, both my kids had birthdays during that window and we celebrated with a piece of ice cream cake.

Ice cream is my weakness and I just cannot have the good stuff (full fat) in the house. That being said, I have discovered lighter ice creams (Nick's, Halo) and I do buy these though they are comparatively expensive. However, an entire pint is under 300 calories, so it is a guilt free indulgence.6

Have you ever had one of those weeks when everything seems to be going well, you stuck to your eating, calorie and exercise plan, feeling good, then to get into a fight with your scale...I have! it’s starting to lie to me...we fought, I left, then I returned to apologize...as punishment for my outburst, it added a pound and put me on good behavior until weigh in this Monday...Smile!7

I'm 37 years old, married, we have a 2 year old. My goal for this challenge is to lose 15-20 lbs. 2020 starting weight was 225. My ultimate goal weight is 135-140 I'll plan for Saturday weigh ins.
Good luck to everyone on reaching your goals.

Jan 16th 179.6

Jan 29th 178.0

Feb 12th 175.8
Feb 20th 177.8

Mar 5th 176.0
Mar 13th 175.4
Mar 20th
Mar 26th 175.2 ( I missed weighing in last week. My father was in the hospital. They believe at a point recently he suffered a stroke, and now in a couple weeks he'll be having a triple bypass. While I'm worried beyond words about him. I need to remember to take care of my health as well.) I know I won't reach my challenge goal, but any loss even slow is a success to me.

This expresses my current philosophy pretty succinctly.
I don't think I'd last very long trying to quit cold turkey on all the foods I love. So, my plan was, until more recently, to stick to my diet all week, and if I lost 2 pounds on Friday, I'd allow myself whatever treat I wanted. This way, I could resist temptations during the week by thinking I had only to wait until Friday. After having done that successfully for months, I guess I needed a break. So now, I treat myself more frequently, but not too frequently, and in very, very small helpings... just enough to remind me of how good it is.
So, right now, I don't think there's anything I've given up, unless we use the term "special occasion" rather loosely.
Correction: I've given up Marie Callender's Chicken Pot Pies (w/ ~46 grams of fat each!).3 -
I like that idea. A little nibble here and there does not hurt.
We have to live and enjoy life.

I lost 19.4. Shy of my goal but I’m very pleased overall. I’ve never lost weight without doing it in an unhealthy way .. until these past three months.
I’ll be joining the other challenge but anticipate a much slower weight-loss pace. It seems the closer you get to your ultimate goal the harder it is. I’m ok with that .. will just keep my eye on the prize.
