It's easier to just blame him for buying them....but he didn't force me to eat I guess. It can be so hard to resist sweet treats when they are put in front of you grrrr.
I better do plenty walking tomorrow! 🚶🏼♀️
Fast for a 5 hours with drinking lots of water that also should help.3 -

We are going to an afternoon party today. It is so dreary out unfortunately. I made this new dip recipe that tastes so good...ugh, I will resist over doing it. I also plan on not drinking any alcohol at this party so that is calories and brain cells saved. I'll see what is offered and try to make sensible choices. I am so close to the next "ends in 0" number on the scale, I do not want to blow it.
We turned down a dinner invitation last night. My SIL invited us and another couple out for Indian food. I politely declined saying we were not drinking or eating out and just no thanks. She countered with, "Indian food is not fattening" but believe me, I can stuff myself with naan. What I didn't say out loud is that, "the four of you are heavy drinkers and we are just not into that right now." I already mentioned here that my husband is experiencing sleep apnea, probably at least partially due to his weight. You would think his own sister would understand why I was declining the offer. Well no, she was obviously miffed at me. Oh well, that can't be helped.
Enjoy your Sunday friends! Have a healthy day9 -
@WeatherJane you are doing so well! I didn’t even realize until I read your post that we’ve reached the half way point. What a great idea to check in with progress so far and to set new goals for the last 2 months. Here’s mine:
Since April 1- lost 6.7 lbs
July 31 goal- lose 5 lbs (0.5 lbs per week)
This is exactly what I needed right now! I have to confess that I am so freaked out about being close to my goal weight. I don’t know how to ‘do maintenance’and I’m worried about slipping into old habits. So my new plan for the second half of this challenge is to scale back from aiming to lose 1 lb/ wk to just 0.5lbs per week and see how that feels. I think that will help me understand better what maintenance will look and feel like which hopefully will ease my anxiety about it. I think it will also help me stay committed to healthy habits without that very satisfying, motivating incentive of seeing the numbers on the scale go down. I will continue to focus on sustainable daily healthy habits including meal planning/prepping/ logging and daily exercise.
For those of you who have been here since April 1st, what’s your halfway progress and what are your goals for the second half?

My daughter who is in grade 12 has been back to online learning and will likely not be back to school as cases are rising and healthcare system at the brink of disaster. It's been very depressing and an emotional time watching her experience "grief" due to all she has lost this year. I've been struggling with any additional weight loss and just basically maintaining. I have to remain positive that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and remain strong for her! I've pressed the reset button today like others! This group has been so inspiring and I've realized that we may be from all over but we are all in this together...weight and Covid! Hugs to you all!
Having this group has made the whole misery of Covid feel less isolating. We really are in this together. I’m so sorry for your daughter. I feel for kids that age. They have given up so much that really matters to them through all of this.
Good luck on your reset but also, congratulations on being able to maintain during restrictions, shut downs and overall stress. You’ve got this!
Thank you we will all get through this!!!6 -
@Shannonkelly08 Sending you a big hug😃Press that reset and do this for YOU!! Practice self-care so you can support those you love during these challenging times. We are here to support each on this journey.
@shnerb00 - I'm so happy that you have reached your goal! Gives me hope🌞
Thank you so much...this group has been a big support and I look forward to catching up with everyone's successes and setbacks as we all are on the same journey...maybe different destination6 -
My husband just got a wake up call concerning his weight at his colonoscopy this morning. The anesthesiologist took one look at him and said, I am guessing you have sleep apnea and I'll take a look while you are under." Well he snores like a grizzly bear so this does not surprise me. He absolutely needs to lose at least 50 lbs. So like it or not, he will be on a weight loss journey with me. I told him I'm not buying another fattening thing and I am not going to enable his poor diet choices. If he wants ice cream, he's going to have to go get that himself. Honestly though this will be better for ME as well. A lot of my poor choices stem from eating out with him. That has got to stop.
Wishing you and your husband success...keep us posted!!!5 -

I'm sorry the Leafs lost, but Marner and Matthews for some reason just weren't putting up the points. I think the Habs did a great job of shutting them down. The Habs do have Price and a fantastic 4 defence. Now if only we could score more....on to the Jets game tonight. I hope we find our offence during this series.

Reached my first milestone that I allowed myself a treat day. The milestone was 225 lbs because when I went to Costa Rica that was the weight limit for much of the fun activities. I am going to St. Lucia next April and want to be fit and able to participate in anything I want.
I changed my goal from 25lbs to 30lbs since I am almost at my goal now.

I can relate: I went to Hawaii, and I took a cruise to Cabo San Lucas. On both occasions, there were opportunities for zip lining, but the weight limit was 250. I was 300+!

As you can see I gained 2 lbs this week. The big hibachi dinner full of rice and noodles we indulged in last night did not help. But it was a celebration for my granddaughter and its so fun watching the chef prepare it all at your table I just lost myself in it all. I had maintained all week and blew it last night. I am hoping this is some salt/water retention thing that will just fall off. Back to basics today.8 -
