Wishing you all happiness, wellness and peace today. I know that we all have stuff going on in our lives and am sending you all a virtual {{HUG}}. I have a kitty who needs to see the vet in a few hours, right ear seems to be giving him trouble, so we are going to have it checked out. Weight loss has stalled, but I know that is was the blueberry pie in the frig and my lack of will power. At least I am not gaining!! Thought you would all enjoy seeing my late mother-in-laws heirloom roses. This is from a cutting of her bush that she established from her great-grandmother's plant. I am told her great-grandmother brought the original bush from Ireland. One final note I am a fellow breast cancer survivor and had bladder cancer diagnosed just after I finished 33 radiation treatments. Lost one lymph node, partial mastectomy and had 6 chemo (BCG) treatments to my bladder. Beat both and that was in 2011. Phew!!

Happy Friday ladies,
Missed a day and so much to catch up on. Love this very active thread.
Flea - I can totally relate to what you are going thru, I remember the day I was diagnosed (October 5, 2015), like it was yesterday. Now after Double mastectomy, 19 lymph nodes out, 8 rounds of chemo, 6 weeks of radiation, and a 12 hour reconstruction surgery I am cancer free and a survivor. I will tell you it's important to lean on your family. I tried to "be strong" for them, never really let on that I was hurting and scared, never let them see me cry. My kids were 18, 16, and 13 and I didn't want to scare them. And hubby, was very busy opening up our second restaurant and I felt like he had enough on his plate. In retrospect, I wish I leaned on them more, might have made the whole experience a bit easier. Thank goodness for my friends though, they were there for me! I wish you all the strength you need to get thru this and I hope you come here for all the emotional support you need to get thru this, (and you will get thru this)!!
As for me, I am back on track, making good food choices, tracking but really need to get walking. Weather broke in NY and it's beautiful today, so I plan on heading out for a walk before work.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day - sending a big hug to all of you!!

Rori love the smile and your new hair cut!
Gardens looking pretty good from all the watering. Lawns not watering here starting to show the effects. Moderate drought here. If this weather pattern continues will be in extreme drought within a week or two.
Tried today from heat and extra garden work. Taking passion flower or valerian at night with rubbing in Epson salts to my legs before bed does help with leg cramps. I also set room AC to 68 degrees. Ahhhh! Sleep is just too important!
Flea extra hugs!3 -
Your roses look beautiful.2

Rori, love the shorter hair! I need a new pic of you to put on my felt Christmas tree💖
Your strength thru all is very inspirational. Hugs friend!

Did my sixteen minutes of walking. Looks like I'm on track to hit twenty by the end of the month! The biking is not going as well. It's finally cool enough, but it's raining. Maybe later.

Hmm. I'm toying with the idea of getting a tablet so I can do exercise videos in the basement. The wifi signal is not very strong down there, but maybe I could download for later replay. The walking and dumbbells are plenty for now. Just thinking.

Rori: You are looking more at peace than in a long while. Scattering your DH’s ashes off Santa Barbara in a place he loved is a tribute to him and to happier times. I love the photo of you. You are beautiful.
(((Flea))) - Hugs to you. Sending good thoughts and prayers for a good outcome.
DD and her family are here. Our daughter came to attend our niece's wedding. The children and our son in law are staying in a nearby county operated RV park. They will be heading for the Oregon coast tomorrow if all goes as planned. Our son in law and the kids are going in the RV. DD & I may be driving separately and staying in a hotel at the coast overnight. I am not sure whether there is time for the overnight at the coast for DD and DH and me. I hope it works out. DD will have to come back here after a day or so, and fly home due to work responsibilities. I am enjoying time with the grandchildren and our daughter. We hope to have some fun times together.
Last night was our niece’s wedding. She was a beautiful bride and her oldest son acted as minister for the wedding ceremony. My daughter and I took the children to the wedding. There were many other young children at the wedding and they all behaved well and seemed to have fun.
I ate something at the wedding reception that I should have skipped. My digestive system is grumpy this morning. :ohwell:

Good afternoon -- finally got to the grocery store. I hit up Lidl and Aldi today ... probably overbought a few things (trying a bunch of different breads/wraps from Aldi). I was getting pretty hungry, so made my lunch as soon as I got home. I had a "lighter" breakfast today (I usually have a huge breakfast ... medium sized lunch ... and really light dinner). But, I was out of a lot of food, and need to prep my veggies for omelets/fritattas -- so I went with the protein oatmeal (to eat it up) and a couple of eggs.
But my lunch ... it felt like I was eating "normal" food. I tried the Keto Friendly hamburger buns from Lidl (19g of fiber), had a sirloin burger, 2 pickles, 2 cups of green salad, and a serving of sweet potato fries (with this yummy veggie ketchup that has nearly zero sugar -- but tastes like normal ketchup) ... with about 8 sliced strawberries for dessert. I should have taken a photo. I usually am happy to eat my burger without a bun ... but there was just something about eating a "normal" burger. YUM. I'm excited to try the protein bread with breakfast tomorrow -- and all the things!!
I had to give up my mid-day coffee. It was making it difficult to sleep. But, we start morning practices in about a week, so I'll be having my coffee protein shake for breakfast instead ... with some homemade ezekiel bread (we're going to make this next batch into a "spice bread."
My future son-in-law comes back to Virginia today, so I'm leaving in about 90 minutes to pick up my daughter to welcome him home (he's in the Air Force, getting ready to ship out to Italy in 10 days). We're so happy to have him back for even a little while.
It's a busy weekend ahead for me -- but I'm keeping on. Having a real meal really lifts my spirits4 -
My step-daughter's visit went well. I had made the ground floor presentable and got some face on by the time they arrived. She stayed about 50 mins and it was nice to see her.
They had walked along the seafront after pizza at the city central Fatto, and had an ice cream at Marrocco's.
This evening I wrote two Google restaurant reviews, being critical of the overloud music and the amateur service. I don't go out to eat just for the food. It rarely matches my own, but , for the price, I want a good ambiance and excellent service. I sometimes get it, but not always. I was disappointed on Sunday and Monday.
The Euro football contest is starting tonight.

Rori--Love the haircut. Glad to hear you are doing a lot of self care things.
Flea--Sending prayers and hugs!! So much happening and trying to act like everything is ok.
Katla--Sounds like it is going well with DD and grandchildren's visit. So happy for you.
Had some rain this morning and now is getting hot. May go out and meet our newest DGD this evening. Sounds like dad is taking the boys camping and only mom and baby will be home. That sounds nice.
I am off the weekend and only plans so far is do a motorcycle ride tomorrow to benifit Suicide prevention. Really a good cause. I had a dear friend shoot himself in front of me and my son over 40 years ago and another son that took his life. Then church on Sunday.

A friend of mine has a daughter with a small farm. I traded some rhubarb for some farm fresh eggs. It is amazing how bright yellow the yolks are. Yum!3

hello, overbusy here. I signed up to do something with prep yesterday and main thing today. it's 2h per day plus a good 1h30 round trip transport. but it ended up eating up the whole day in fact, then I have plans for Sunday and Monday. I don't like it when things are so densely scheduled.5

Did Tracy Long’s Defining Shape DVD then took a walk. The plan for tomorrow is to do a segment of this Walking Kit (I think it’s from Weight Watchers). A new one for me so we shall see how it goes.
Soup kitchen this afternoon then volunteering at the Green Room
M – I didn’t know that they didn’t have any books to read to PJ. Like I said, I knew that she’d gotten a lot at her baby shower so I assumed (I guess we know what happens when you assume something) that, of course, there were a lot in the house. If there was, I sure didn’t see them. Now in a way I’m sorry I got rid of all the baby books (like Hungry, Hungry Caterpillar) that I had for the kids.
Barbara – I’m the religious gardener...”if God means for it to live, it’ll live” The reason I gave them the book was so that I could be reading to him even tho I wasn’t there.
Lisa – what type of leavening do you use for your bread? Yeast?
Barbie – those books have to be somewhere in the house, I just didn’t see them. I’m hesitant to buy books since I know he has a lot. Maybe I can borrow some from somebody or I’ll look at the books I have and see if I kept any of the ones for a small child. Also, I spend all that money on books and they only get used when I’m there, that’s what will happen. Maybe I SHOULD spend the money on a toy that he’ll most likely use.
klvb – welcome. Happy early birthday! Beautiful plant!
Anne DE – woohoo, you go girl
Sarah – welcome! And great loss

Barbara - the right foot stays is sort of suspended in the air because your pushing on that one with your hands and vice versa. I’ll see if I can find a picture.

Saturday -- at last we have completed our June 50 km bicycle ride.
First, I wasn't sure if we would be able to do it because of my husband's mild heart attack last month.
Then we planned to do it a week ago but the weather has been so bad we kept shifting to the next day and next day and finally today was all right.
Cycling Distance: 51.94km
Elevation: 369m

Hi folks.
Heather: - Uh! Oh! I don't like surprise visitors either.
Sarah NZ: - Welcome to the group. Great loss.
@klvb44 - Welcome to the group. Hope you continue to recover. There are a few of us over 70. (I'm 75) Losing weight isn't easy at any age 😂 but it is doable.
Debbie: - When I am properly busy I never think of eating, especially in the garden.
Michele: - Sounds like you made lots of good memories with PJ. Buy him books, lots of books 😍The jigsaw.
Rori: - So good to see you smiling. You look very glamourous, and grey is very fashionable at the moment.
Flea: - (((Hugs))) and prayers for the days ahead. Lean on us. We have broad shoulders.
We've been working hard planting up our summer containers. I post pics later. This morning I'm popping out to our local shops for fresh bread/meat and a browse in the charity shop.
