Love all the encouragement , what an amazing group of women you all are!
Looking forward to an overnight with my daughter tonight❤️ love being her mum.
We have also started a 12 week challenge until labour day. A pound a week until Labour Day .
Heading out camping next week then back to work in two weeks. Been a good time off .Hope to be down to 201 by the end of the month.
Have a great rest of the week !
Remember the number on the scale does not represent how beautiful or unique and loved you are. 👍🌈❤️

I got Back On Track this week, and [shock!] it worked!
Down 4.2 pounds from last week, which shows that my small loss the previous week (0.8 pounds) was due to my 1+ day off plan over the weekend and not permanent damage. Total/average loss for 2 weeks: 5/2.5 pounds, which makes sense.
Lesson Learned: Don't let one bad day put you off course!
Goal for this week: my employer is running a health challenge of taking a 10-minute break per day to do something active at least 5 of 7 days. I've signed up and will try to complete the challenge.

Weekly goals:
-Log food daily on mfp - I did fairly well with this, but forgot over the weekend (when I was at home with my husband and five kids instead of sitting in front of a computer all day, go figure)! I am being honest about logging the crap I am eating too, which should be obvious but is not necessarily. I know I am only cheating myself if I don't do it though, so I'm all in!
-64 oz of water daily - I really dislike drinking water and have not quite met this goal but my intake is definitely up. Goal for this week is to hit 64 oz a day.
-Post weigh-ins in this group - Done!

Ha mom's scale didn't matter for here, only for my regular MFP weigh in. Her scale might have been right or only up a small bit. Fell into the snacks yesterday while checking mom's house. Should have just gotten the ice cream I was thinking of or starbucks lol. Think I needed more protein items at breakfast as I just had a smoothie but not much protein. Gotta just toss a bunch of things so I don't decide to eat them just because she has them.
Got back to strength training yesterday and will do another set today. DH wants me to check their weight max on the machines anyway. He's deciding on if he'll get a pass with them now they're back to normal hours. We go at opposite hours so the guest pass won't really work for him. It'll be good if he gets the motivations to go back to the gym. At his old gym he'd max out on the weight for some machines so he wanted to see if this one offers more.6 -

Same!! Even when I had all the other pieces working and I was in at my goal weight (before gaining it all back), I never could manage the water piece. Just yuck. Cannot decide how big of a deal to make this one. I drink coffee, diet soda, or Crystal light, so nothing with mega kcals. Just not water.
Right now my focus is on recording intake religiously again, and I need to start moving. The treadmill had been calling, but my butt seems to be glued to the chair/couch/weaving bench. 😕6 -
I'm just gonna jump back in without a lot of explanations or self pity about why I gained 6lbs in the past two months. It happened and I'm ready to move on knowing that it's in my power to change.:)

@wanderinglight welcome back!
@norahkathleen why 64oz? Individual hydration needs vary from person to person and even day-to-day within the same person, and it is actually possible to over-hydrate and create more problems. So if you have trouble drinking that much, don't force it. If your pee is light yellow, like the color of straw or champagne, you're good. If it's lighter than that, you're drinking too much water. If it's darker than that, you're not drinking enough water.7 -
@goal06082021 i appreciate the advice...but i do need to drink more water so 64 oz is just a somewhat arbitrary goal that i have set for myself because it would about double my current intake. When I hit that point (or if I see that I am where I should be before that) I will reassess.4
-
@NEHandweaver I feel you on moving. I pretty much stand all day at work (I did get an adjustable desktop so at least I can stand instead of sitting all day now) and with five kids there is a lot of running around at night (*but not actual running). My husband works nights so he goes to bed when I get home. By the time everyone is settled I just want to sit down with my knitting! I have gone back to running in the morning with my 13 year old though. I honestly hate it, but I love the one-on-one time with him so am trying to just focus on that part.7
-
So my therapist wants me to quit weighing myself, a kind of hide the scale thing? Not sure how that is going to go because I am admittedly a bit obsessed with it, despite how it makes me feel. I am going to keep keeping track though, and doing my best to get heather. Hope I can do that.. sigh. I did weigh myself Monday though and have lost a whole pound lol. Scale is up now, at least until I go in to primary care next month.5

It has been a good week! NSV-wise, I cooked really good food and enjoyed everything I ate this week (and stayed well within my calories and macros). Scale-wise, I finally got through my 10-day slump of retaining water and when it started moving down again early this week, I was delighted. I’m going on vacation tomorrow, so I’m glad to have had such a good week leading up to my trip because I plan to do my best to enjoy myself without going overboard.
I started gathering my clothes to pack for vacation and I found a swimsuit wrap that I used to knot around my waist. I remember the last time I went on vacation, I barely had enough fabric to do that. Apparently I have now lost enough weight to wrap it around my waist, then around my entire body again, and tie it behind my neck - AND it looks cute! I’ve lost 10 or 11 inches each from my hips and my waist so mathematically that makes sense but it was crazy to see it in action!
Goals for this week are to maintain while on vacation (I’m only leaving for 4 days) and then reenter regular life well upon return. I want to be active while on vacation - even though I won’t be doing any weight lifting, I can walk, swim, or bike every day. This will be my first trip since I started this weight loss journey and I am optimistic that I have the tools to do it well!
Have a great week, ladies!12 -
@sandielewis2001 50lbs lost!! That’s a huge milestone! Congratulations!! I’m chasing that one myself but likely won’t hit it for another month or so. Keep up the great work!5

Last week I said I wanted to see 209 and I was able to hit that today. I was a little worried about my weight going up since I had a pizza and beer (1 beer) night. I’ve been craving pizza lately and we ate Papa Johns on Wednesday and it was worth it. I sent my sister my before and after pictures of my weight loss so far and she could definitely see I’ve slimmed down everywhere which was encouraging to hear. My next mini goal is to get under 205. We all seem to be making progress in this group. Let’s keep pushing forward!10 -

So, another 1lb this week, which when I consider the fact that I have done very little (and by ‘very little' I mean absolutely bugger all) exercise all week this is actually pretty good going, I think. Unfortunately, with half a house still to pack and 3 weeks until move day I’m still spending a lot of time indoors, working at a desk all day and then sorting, clearing, and packing in the evenings. I mean seriously, how on earth did we accumulate all this ‘stuff’, where did it all come from? I will be so relieved when this is all done, and we are finally moved.
Plus, the weather in the UK has taken a 180 turn and has gone from glorious sunshine to flood warnings. You’ve got to love the British weather. NOT. It’s not really the sort of weather you fancy going for a walk in. Unless you have fishing waders. Or maybe if you’re a duck.
Lots of very inspiring posts on here ladies, it’s amazing to see how well you have all done, whether it be losing weight, inches, positive NSVs, hitting goals, or on the other hand, being positive in the face of difficulties, persevering when stalls occur etc etc, what a wonderful bunch.
Here’s to another positive and encouraging week ahead.

You are all doing so great with your losses! I need to really buckle down for the next 8 weeks. I saw my knee doctor yesterday and I will be getting a new knee in about 8 weeks. He didn't tell me to, but I want to be under 200 when I go in for it. So I have 9.4 lbs to get rid of before then.8

Amazing progress everybody!
@itisjessdarling standing on the doorstep to Onederland! Let's see that 1XX.XX on the scale next week!
@sandielewis2001 50 lbs is awesome and so are you! Keep it going!!
@girlinkaz amazing progress, have fun on your trip!
@SammiGirl1321 you're doing amazing sweetie Pizza and beer CAN SO be part of a balanced lifestyle!
@CariTJR sorting and clearing and packing sounds like NEAT, if not actual exercise you are also doing awesome, I hope your move goes smoothly!
@tuddy315 good luck with your surgery and your loss over the next 8 weeks! I believe in you!
I'm hoping for a good update tomorrow. I've done pretty well this week, burned a little more than I would have normally I think - I took my walk on Tuesday morning instead of Thursday, and then did a Ring Fit Adventure session on Thursday morning instead of the yoga I had originally planned to do Tuesday. My walk on Tuesday was a little over 3 miles, basically a 5k, and I did it in an hour and a half. I think if I ever decide to pick up Couch to 5k again, the park where I walk would be a pleasant place to do it. That's a next-year kind of thing, though - maybe running will be less miserable when I get back to Onederland myself.
I'm excited for the earbuds I ordered - they should be delivered today! I hope they fit comfortably and stay in my ears better than the off-brand Airpods I have.6 -
Some of these replies may be late. I started typing them last weekend and then forgot to post it. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
@sandielewis2001 My main treat was a spa day (I love self care, so massages, facial and mani/pedi). @goal06082021 was right, I needed new bras (workout and regular/outing bras) and so got some as well. Pick something you really enjoy or want. Congrats on hitting your milestone!! What did you decide to treat yourself with?
@sargemarcori Congrats on reaching your month goal!!
@VickyEltonGreen How did your overnight go? I hope you had lots of fun.
@OnceAndFutureAthlete You are so right. Thank you for the reminder. One bad day should not be allowed to send us off course!!! I hope you were able to meet your goal for the week at work.
@norahkathleen I hope you can get to your water goal. Have you tried some of the flavor packets? Sometimes, if I want something sweet, I get the Walmart/Great value packets. They have the ones that contain electrolytes (great after a really sweaty workout) and antioxidants as well.
@girlinkaz Awesome NSVs!! Have a great vacation!!
@SammiGirl1321 Congrats on getting to this goal. You'll soon get to the next mini goal.
@CariTJR All that packing etc. is a lot of exercise (can we say 'weight lifting/strength training')!! Lol on the "how did we accumulate all this stuff comment"!! I am still unpacking and I keep asking myself, "how do I have so much stuff?" and it is only me!!!🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
@tuddy315 You've got this!! Success with the surgery!!
@goal06082021 Nice workout week!! What kind of earbuds did you get? I hope they work for you. I have very small ears (apparently) and most earbuds keep falling out of my ears.
Awesome job ladies!!! Let us keep the momentum going!!
I'll weigh-in and post my update tomorrow (hoping for a loss even though I started working out with weights again this week and I am also having my TOM)!!!8 -
This week saw a whoosh which was a welcome surprise after staying the same last week. I've been doing my usual walk of 3 miles per day but I didn't add in any other exercise this week. I've been drinking at least 2 litres of water daily and trying to eat all of my calories.
My plan for next week is to try and do 50 squats per day and stick with my walking. The schools finish here next week so I won't be able to get my normal walks in every day but I'll still try and get a walk of some kind as well as using my exercise bike and I'll be doing work in the garden so hopefully that will help to burn the calories.
Not long now till the end of the month and I hope you all reach those goals you set yourselves, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can hit mine.

Heading back in the right direction! I guess I didn’t realize going off the rails for my birthday week would take 2 or 3 weeks to get back to where I was before. Ugh! It sounds like everyone else had a good week! We can do this! 👍💪🔥3 -

Once again, I forgot to do a proper weigh-in this morning. I stepped on the scale in clothes, after working out and showering, and after drinking 24oz of water. Maybe I'll see a whoosh next week (if I remember to weigh in for gosh sakes), here's hoping.
I'm spending this weekend doing some marathon cooking/meal prep - next Saturday I have a 3-hour spa session booked and I don't want to go into it all frazzled from scrambling to do a bunch of prepping beforehand. So, my cooking plans for this weekend include:
* Lasagna Napoletana - involving a sauce from more-or-less scratch, which requires an allegedly-3-hour simmer in the oven (currently 40 minutes into that), as well as braising pork ribs in said sauce that then get processed into tiny meatballs. It looks delicious but I'm a bit wary of the timing described by the recipe, since it also said to reduce the 2 cups of white wine called for to "almost nothing," and claimed this would happen in "about 5 minutes." I'd love to live in whatever bizarro dimension these recipe bloggers do, where onions caramelize in ten minutes and wine reduces in 5. I'm expecting to be able to freeze at least half of this; I haven't decided yet if I want to portion it out first. Maybe I could par-freeze half, like put it in the freezer for just an hour or two, and then when it's firm but not solid I could cut it into serving-size chunks and wrap those in plastic or foil, or something. At least this is intended to be tonight's dinner, so I won't spend all day cooking and then still have to figure out what to eat, which is a trap I've fallen into before.
* Green chile chicken enchiladas - thankfully most of this was prepped weeks ago and just required assembly and baking, it's in the oven now. That will be dinner for two nights next week. I also need to make some Spanish rice to go along with but that's minimal work as well.
* Breakfast burritos - the filling will be scrambled eggs, bacon, black beans, and shredded cheese. I may or may not shred up some potatoes into hash browns; skipping the potatoes last week almost perfectly filled 10 burritos with no leftover filling (one was about 20g short). Maybe I'll do like, one potato, instead of the 2-3 I've done in the past.
* Cabbage rolls - this is actually lunch for next next week (6/28), but since I don't anticipate having a lot of time to cook next weekend, I wanted to prep these in advance and freeze them. I did this before we went out of town last month and they froze beautifully, so I know that part works. I only have one week's worth of food containers, though, so my plan is to line those with plastic wrap, pack the cabbage rolls, freeze them overnight tonight and then remove them from the containers tomorrow so I can fill them with this week's lunch. Then, next weekend, I just need to put the frozen portions back in their containers, and they'll already be the right shape and everything.
* Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, and broccoli - the Salisbury steak patties are the most labor-intensive part of this, and I've already managed to nick myself twice in the course of making the lasagna above, so I'll need to wear gloves for that part. I can probably manage the mashed potatoes today, since I can pack that into a bowl and portion it out tomorrow. I might also make the patties today and just cook them tomorrow. The broccoli is frozen, in those microwave steamer bags, so that'll be quick and easy, thankfully.
* Pelmeni - perhaps my most ambitious plan, I don't think I'll actually be able to get this done on the weekend, so I'm aiming to at least get the filling and wrapper dough made, probably tomorrow, and then sit down and fold a few dozen every night next week. The only way I know how to make these is about 200 at a time, so thankfully they do freeze well.
Jeez, writing it all out like this makes it seem even more overwhelming. See y'all on the other side, I guess.7 -

@goal06082021 Wow that’s a lot of food!!!! I hear you about the internet recipes. Last weekend I made protein waffles and they were horrid. And the recipe only made not even 2 full waffles. Goals:
Get 8+ glasses of water, log in calories daily, get enough sleep and stay under my calorie goal. I have worked on this. I got almost 10 8 oz glasses yesterday and 8 and 9 other days this week.
Up N.E.A.T. (steps, stairs, cleaning, gardening, and cooking) Some improvement here. We did alot of cleaning the last 2 weekends
Get regular exercise:
1-2 strength training a week (1 with weights and later add back in 1 with resistance bands after a week or 2 if
my elbow doesn’t start hurting again)I have been getting in my weight training each week
5 days of walking I am getting more days of walking but not quite 5 but the days I don't walk are pretty active.
Meal plan and make healthy meals at home. Limit take out to once a week (not junk food). Better but with my son in town it hasn't been perfect.
Take another step towards lowering sugar intake.
Wait to have breakfast until I feel hungry while I am working remotely. Yes I have done well with this.
Up my vegetables and make sure I have fruit daily I eat vegetables but could eat more and I have done better but have more to go.
My son has been in town but is staying with his wife's family. We have been busier so I haven't checked here as often but really worked hard this week and lost some weight today. Tonight we celebrate Father's Day a day early and early next week I will meet my son for a walk in the afternoon. Then I hope to get back to meal planning better. Today I will shop for Father's Day tomorrow with my youngest. I am hoping to be able to check in more here after this weekend. My mind has been on going back to the office. That is what they are saying but for me it isn't back. I started when all on my team were working remotely so this is almost like starting a new job in some ways but it will be a slow transition through the summer starting with 1 day a week until we are full-time in the office this fall assuming all our COVID 19 metrics keep looking good. King County is doing great with vaccinations and our COVID 19 cases are going down. However the Delta variant is on the rise here so I worry for those unvaccinated. We got our hair cut recently. We don't go out to restaurants except when we were on our weekend trip and a few small special occasions with our son here like tonight. We will finally have a family gathering on the 4th at my brother's who has a nice back yard for eating and visiting and a big house. All but a few kids are vaccinated and rates are low.4 -

@sandielewis2 Congrats on 50 lbs lost!
@girlinkaz scale and NSVs yay!
@CariTJR since I have missed some posts I am glad to hear you have found place to move to. Not surprised you are losing during this process.
@tuddy315 I will have to get a new knee eventually too. Best at getting under 200 by surgery.
@goal06082021 I had to look up Pelmeni. Hope the cooking goes well.

So after my gain and looking towards a more typical week I decided to set a couple goals.
Work out 3x at the gym (that requires two early mornings
Drink at least 2 full water bottles a day ~100oz
Make smoothies at least 3 days
On the upside hiking in the heat I did pretty well, I have learned wearing spandex stops a lot of chafing3 -
