I am very excited to have completed June below by goal. I did a fantastic job staying within my calorie goal every day this month and keeping up with my weekday morning walks. My office has just posted the return to work plan so I will be starting to go in 2x per week. This will shorten my morning walk on those days but I think I can increase NEAT calories by walking around more while in the office.
I look forward to seeing everyone on the July post. Keep up the great work!6 -
I didn't get a chance to update on Sunday. We had a very busy weekend. I maintained my weight from last week. I stepped on the scale this morning and to my surprise I am ending June lower than I expected.
Starting weight: 270 March 2021
June Start Weight: 241
June Goal Weight: somewhere between 230 - 235
Ultimate Goal Weight: TBD
I weigh in on Sundays.
June 6: 239.4
June 13: 236.8
June 20: 234.4
June 27: 234.4
June 30: 232.8
All my new equipment that I bought during Prime Day came. I have been playing around with it and love everything. I set up a new exercise routine that I started this month. My goal for July is to continue with my new routine. My daughter is on summer vacation now. She is 6. Every morning she asks if she can join me for my workout then sits and draws while I bike. She watches and imitates me when I do the rest of my routine. It is really adorable. I love that she wants to join me. I am looking forward to a great July!
Welcome to all the new members!
@itisjessdarling Congratulations on Onderland. I am so happy for you!!!
@RebekahAnn88 Welcome. I send you a friend request.
@goal06082021 I love the advice you always give to members of the group. Even though you are speaking to others, I always read it. You are always very insightful. Thank you.
@girlinkaz It sounds like you had a great vacation. Congrats on your NSV and posting a bathing suit picture on social media. I am happy for you!
@VickyEltonGreen I don't have any recipes for salad dressing but I love squeezing a lemon or lime over my salads instead of using salad dressing. It's so delicious.
@Skeebee If it makes you feel better I am a returning MFPer too. I am heavier now than my lowest MFP weigh. I try not to get too hung up on that because I know I am putting in the work. Eventually I will get back there. I have confidence that you will to. Welcome back!
@abbydking218 I am not sure if anyone answered this for you yet. Yes, there will be a group for July. Just look for the July post.
@changeforeverlj Happy 50th!

OK, I waited an extra day to check in to make it to the last day of the month.
Here we go:
Age 59
Height 5'6.5"
SW: 278 (March 2021)
CW: 247.5 (30# GONE!)
GW for June: Below 240
FGW: 150
6/1: 247.5 lbs
6/8: 246.7 lbs (-0.8)
6/15: 242.5 lbs (-4.2!)
6/22: 243.5 lbs (+1.0)
6/30: 241.3 (-2.2)
Total month loss: 6.2 pounds
Total loss so far: 36.7 pounds
So I missed goal by 1.3 pounds. But I'm not surprised. I realized I was getting a little burnt out after nearly 4 months of SOLID dieting, and gave myself a little slack the 2nd part of the month. I'm back on plan, as the last week shows, and ready to go for the next month.
What I learned this month: That I can take a few days above ultimate calorie goal and still lose. I can splurge but I don't have to go "hog wild."
Ready for July!
P.S. If anyone has any sure-fire Poison Ivy remedies they can share PLEASE DO! I'm on day 5 and it still itches like HE11. My dog ran thru poison ivy without my noticing and I unknowingly got the oil all over me from her coat when I picked her up. The dog is fine, but I have it all over stomach, arms, etc. It SUCKS!4 -
I’m still getting used to this but for June I started on the 6th at 280 and I’m finishing June at 272. See you all in July 😃8

Starting to feel a bit more human than I was on Saturday although I definitely went overboard with my gardening this week my back and the back of my thighs are still sore but I'm hoping after burning those calories and my body starting to get back to some kind of normality that I might see a drop soon, cause I'm pretty sure that my muscles are repairing themselves and holding extra fluid just now hence the pain. Didn't meet this months target, missed it by 2lbs but hopefully it won't be long till I get there. Looking forward to joining all you ladies again for July.

Love the idea of using app metals as NSV. I’m off to find myself walking challenge, just the one challenge though! 😌0 -
@JNettie73 you're too kind! I was just reading back over the thread and was reminded about that stray cat you took in way back at the start of the month - whatever ended up happening with her, surely she's had her kittens by now? Were you able to get her spayed?0

@goal06082021 The cat is doing okay. She is still in my garage and very round. No signs of kittens yet. We are sort of patiently waiting. I still cannot pet her but I can sit near her when she eats and she will come out sometimes when I bring her food in rather than waiting for me to leave the garage.2

Didn't lose much as my family went to a restaurant over the weekend and I ate all the things. My meal and shared appetizer was more than my daily calories! It was my favorite foods from there. I will probably just avoid these types of restaurants in the future. Most have healthier options, but I don't have the discipline to not eat my go-to's yet. My family is headed on vacation this weekend with friends and they are already talking about all the unique restaurants they want to try out. Just going to try and watch my portions and maybe drink a shake before heading out to dinner so im not as hungry. Any tips would be great!3 -
ended the month down 2#. I'll take it, what with the stress of this month. Feeling a bit more in control now!4
-
@JNettie73 I'm glad she's still doing well - cat gestation is only about 8-9 weeks, so if you could tell she was pregnant a month ago she's bound to pop soon! Best wishes for an uncomplicated birth and a small, healthy litter. (and if you can, please share pics!)3

@OnceAndFutureAthlete I understand the agony of fighting poison ivy! I’ve even had it in my 👀. Mine never goes away unless I go to the doctor so I’ve learned to go right away. They always give me a steroid cream to use. Once it was so bad I also got a steroid shot, steroid packs, and pills to whip it! I’ve had it at least 4 times and it wouldn’t go away on its own. Good luck! They say calamine lotion helps, but I didn’t find it all that helpful. Hope it clears up quickly.2

Well, I did not hit my June goals but I know why. I'm not throwing in the towel. I've got at least a year to go to hit my goal, unless I keep taking these darn "maintenance" breaks.2

Yeah, after 5 days of crazy itching and spreading rash and going commando so the elastic wouldn't aggravate it, despite calamine ALL OVER and oral benadryl and tylenol and rubbing alcohol and showers and everything else "Dr. Google" suggested, I broke down and called my brother (an actual MD) to call in an Rx for a steroid pack. Almost instant relief. [facepalm]. Next time - if there is one - I won't be such a masochist/stoic and wait so long!1 -
Hi there,
I'm completely new to this site (I used to use My Plate years ago and loved it, but am joining a virtual group through my doctor that will discuss health/weight loss and am required to use My Fitness Pal---which I don't love so far, lol, but I'm hoping it'll grow on me). It's been years (YEARS!) since I've had any emotional control over my eating habits and my ability and motivation to work out has been limited and/or non-existent). I've had a couple of lower back surgeries, both knees have had total replacements, and have nerve damage which resulted in foot drop - just in the last couple of years. So, other than one more surgery in a couple of weeks (neck), I should be on the road to recovery. I also recently got married to the most patient, understanding, accepting husband in the world. He always lived a very active life and was drawn to my appreciation of nature, love of hiking, working out - but, he hasn't really, truly seen that side of me due to all of my issues. I know that I'm still healing (and like I said, have another surgery coming up in a week), but I also just feel lazy. I used to be so much better at just getting *kitten* done. Anyway, here's the nitty-gritty-nasty-truth. I weigh 100 pounds more than my husband. ONE HUNDRED pounds. He has no idea. My body type and height really seem to hide it a bit. I'm fairly evenly distributed, I guess. Lots of weight in my legs/butt/chest, so it kind of works in a way. But, when he met me, I was probably 40 pounds lighter. And, I need to be at least 100 pounds lighter than I am to be at a "doctor's recommended" ideal weight. I'm overwhelmed and really wish I could just ease right back into the right eating mindset and desire to work out (hard!)... and be productive around the house (like I used to be).
Hoping this is the place I draw some inspiration and drive. So, here's what I'm seeing everyone else include on their posts -

I love you all for sharing your stories and for letting me and everyone else on here know that we're not alone. Mwah! I want to visit "Onederland" again in this lifetime. It really is a fun place to be! I just need to find a place in my heart and mind that believes I can get there again.1 -
