5'3 sw 277 cw 208 gw 130. My maintenance is 1450-1500 cal a day. So it is 1100-1200 for losing. Turning 48 in a couple weeks. I gained the weight in 1997 after a severe health crisis. I bought a special bike in 2013, a trike because of seizures, it is low to the ground. But I didn't know how else to get moving safely. Now the bike for "Big and tall" people (only bike that could take my weight) is a little bit big, but I deal. I absolutely have to weigh my food, I have the most unrealistic portion sizes. I had to learn that a 300 calorie meal is actually just fine and I don't "starve" to death. If I feel like I am not eating enough I have a horse bowl salad with bolthouse dressing and eat until there is no way my stomach can say I haven't eaten enough. One thing I really wanted to do when I lose weight is keep it off, I have a multitude of yo-yo dieters in the family. I even have an uncle that had the LAP surgery, and a year after he took all the weight off, gained it all back! I am not interested in short cuts, I would like to make permanent changes. I came here because I was sure that 1400 cal a day should have lost me some weight, but I think due to my size and health - that is only maintenance. I see that now I am the shortest person in the family, and that does affect things.8

I'm a success story in a way because I am not giving up and am determined to do this even I struggle with the pounds coming off
I was in the same position as you and decided to recomp (see recomp thread). However, it took me about 1 year to get off 10lbs, nice and slow. I look way better now though. Cut/bulk may be your style, but being a post-grad and working like a dog at a big 4 accounting firm, it was not mine. just my 2 cents.0 -

I am VERY frustrated right now, but not giving in to a “plateau” that has been nagging me for over 2 1/2 months. However, there is a positive side to my weight release is that I started a walking fitness program February, that lead to a decrease of 11% of my LDL cholestrol and 10% increase of my HDL cholesterol. Looking forward to an increase of bone density.
Being happy and healthy is the key, though the number on the scale sometimes doesn’t make us feel that way.
I would like to breakthrough to a goal weight of 125 and tone up, any suggestions?
Thanks to all for your insights and inspirations.

Hi everyone! I'm 65, 5'2",currently 165 down from a high of 185. I lost that from following Dr.Livingood's program online. I've been stuck at 165 for a couple months so I'm back to tracking my food better and getting rid of inflammatory things like Diet Coke and wine.Looking forward to working my way back down to 130-135. I'm on thyroid meds and anti hormone meds after chemo that make losing harder, but it's not impossible! Let's do this!!12

What an inspiration❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for sharing.
Height : 5'2
HW: 147.4lbs
LW: 116.1 lbs
CW: 133.5lbs
GW: 110-112lbs
I thought that I could finally get down to my GW in 2019 but alas covid came and boom bang wham, my weight went back up to 133ish. I just could get my mind set right when covid started and when I worry or get depress, I tend to graze and then binge. Am going to try again to get down to my GW. Thank you ladies for your inspiration photos❤️

Almost 60 years, old, at 5'3. HW: 267; CW: 233.5; GW: 150. I was 260.1 when I started this journey in March and it's been slow and steady. As I posted the other day in this forum, I feel that this is a real success given where I started since I lost the weight this time not through "dieting" or following any particular diet regime (I still record in WW Blue but don't stress over exceeding points since I now use MFP religiously and am eating between 1100-1300 calories on the average day). I am losing weight this time because I'm giving myself grace, accepting my own triggers and working systematically around them to change my relationship with food once and for all.13

Me at my heaviest on the right 82kgs on the left me today at around 56kgs. That's about a 26kg weight loss. I initially lost 20kgs then gained 10kgs back then lost a further 15kgs. It has taken several years to get to this point. I am now in a good place mentally and emotionally with a good support system so I know I will not gain all the weight back again. I'm now currently doing a bulk trying to gain weight and build muscle. You all look great and have done a fantastic job!
I have found the inspiration I was looking for , Well done for the great work, we are close in height and I was 82kg at my heaviest-I lost 9kg so far and I want to get to 50kg- may I ask if you have any loose skin anywhere and how to tone your arms and inner thighs cos that’s where I have most fat.
Hi lovely sorry for the late reply. How are you going on your weight loss journey? I have found doing strength training had been great for toning the body. I still struggle with my lower body but it is a work in progress. I don't have any loose skin as I took my weight loss slow over about a year.3 -

I'm so happy to have found this thread! Being a short girl and trying to lose weight can be so defeating sometimes! I had a baby around the pandemic so its not a good excuse but it is why I was at the highest weight of my life! After I had my daughter, I lost some baby weight but gained it back during the pandemic. At the start of this year, I gave myself a goal to lose the weight by the end of the year. I started the year at 211 pounds at 5ft 2 inches. I lost 28 pounds and maintained that for a couple of months with no additional loss. The last couple of weeks I have fallen off the wagon and lost any desire to diet and exercise. I gained 7 pounds back over a vacation and just not caring. I am recommitting myself today and going to work towards my realistic goal of 145 pounds by New Year's Eve. Then once I hit that, going for my next goal of 135 pounds! Excited to see all of your success stories to keep me motivated!!8

Ahhh short girls unite!!
When I got married at age 28 I was 124 lbs.... and I thought I was fat. Now 13 years, two kids, a high stressful job that makes eating healthy difficult (in home social worker/case manager), a pandemic later I ballooned to 199.
I've been miserable and I've felt disgusting and unhappy for a really long time. I always had the mindset of " you're too lazy and you like food too much" to ever bother to lose weight. My kids have crazy schedules and quick easy food became the norm. My husband started doing IF in February and lost nearly 60 lbs. I did it with him and lost 2. It was infuriating.
Then our world blew up on July 5th this year. On the fourth he was cleaning out the garage and thought he had something in his eye. He couldn't seem to flush it out. It was annoying but not painful and figured a good nights sleep and it would come out on it's own, but on Monday it was still there. He went to urgent care He had nothing in his eye... the spot was from optic nerve edema as we'd come to find out. His blood pressure was 253/152 and he was rushed to the ER. He was admitted bypassing the ER and the first discovery (besides the bp) was that his kidneys were no longer working. Several days and tests later we have now found out he has a mass on his right kidney.. we still don't know what it is nor has surgery been scheduled to remove it... and he's got less than 10% function between his kidneys. He will need to go on dialysis and get a transplant.
The week he was in the hospital I basically didn't eat. I was so very busy between handling the kids, my job and being at the hospital that I forgot to eat. I lost 9 lbs that week.
He came home and I decided.. that's it. I need to lose 40lbs in order to safely donate a kidney in an exchange. I am down somewhere between 15-17 lbs since the beginning of the month by doing calorie restricting (12-1400 a day) and a minimum of 1 hour of exercise 6 days a week. While I do not believe I'll be able to lose nearly 20 lbs every month, I am setting a goal of 10 lbs a month in order to qualify as a living donor. 40 lbs will get me to the highest acceptable BMI, And I look at is as I'm a quarter of the way there. But I plan on continuing to work towards a goal of 145 lbs as my maximum weight. I would like to hit about 130 but I also know that when I drop low I look ill.46 -
This is a before and during, as I'm definitely not finished yet! I have made significant progress though and figured I'd share. I'm 28 years old, 5'1", SW 213.6 pounds, CW 176.6, GW 130. I started tracking my calories and exercising on 1/1/21. I have been lifting heavy (following the Stronglifts 5x5 program), doing couch to 5k and quite a bit of hiking. The pictures outside are from about a year ago vs a few days ago, and the "official" progress pictures are from the end of January vs a few days ago. I am absolutely thrilled with my progress and never thought I'd make it this far!

Thank you for sharing this. I’m 5’4” and started at 191. Been trying to determine a good goal weight. Your pics give me a good idea of what would be attainable for me! You look great!12 -
5'3 sw 277 cw 201 gw 130 (maybe less haven't actually decided, nor asked the hubby what he thinks of this. I was 160ish when I met him, so hopefully that was so long ago (27 years ago) he won't really remember what size I was then!)
