I am 5'2", age 53. In the before photo I was 143lbs and 109lbs on the left, just before I competed in a bodybuilding show. My normal weight is about 115-118lbs.
I lift weights, do Crossfit, run, mountain bike, cross country ski… and enjoy a glass of wine and the occasional cupcake

You dedication shows....5 -
All of these pics are so inspiring! @nitalieben , that is AMAZING progress!
I'm 5'0" (and a half!) and am only trying to lose a few pounds, and my original goal was 120 but I was going to raise it because I didn't know if it was do-able for me. It apparently IS possible, so I'm not sure now. Anyways, you should be super proud, because that was/is hard work and dedication.
@lumchbox Excellent progress! You look great!
@BigMamaLynsey You look great!
This is my first week, and I'm going to take it slow. I also don't have a scale, and don't want one in my home, so my weigh-ins will be few and far between... I fluctuate and usually hover around 135 but had started creeping up to 140 last I checked, so I want to stop it from getting higher, haha!
Looking forward to the progress! Thanks for sharing your success stories!11 -

Thank you! My initial goal was 143lbs. It was the lowest weight I'd ever been as a "near-adult" (age 18) and at 192lbs even that seemed impossible. Once I hit 143lbs, nothing seemed impossible any more. I'd say set mini goals, if that helps with motivation and consistency. Try for 130, then 125, then 120. For me it seemed less daunting that way.

Holy moly! You are absolute goals! Congrats on your success2 -
5’1” start weight 175, now about 130, aiming for 120. Lots of swimming and running, less cake, but not no cake. I am almost 11months into the journey.16

Wow a ton of inspiring stories here! I am 5'2 3/4 At my largest I was 230, got back down and was back up to 220 last year when I finally decided I had to make a change. I have been tracking to 1400 calories since 10/1. I am down to 174.6, not entirely sure of the "end goal" but probably around 140. I definitely still enjoy wine but have faithfully tracked my calorie intake every day for almost 8 months. I also try to exercise at least 30 minutes a day every day of the week (once a month or every two months I take a day off). I do weight lifting 2-3 x a week, cardio includes jogging or biking, and have also sprinkled in some yoga. Feels great to no longer fit into my larger clothes. Everything that is too big I donate. Best of luck to everyone in their journey!

This isn’t my “before” picture. This was my… “OMG, I can finally pull my pants up” picture. I’ve only lost 27lbs, but I couldn’t pull these pants over my butt when I started at 159lbs (post pregnancy).
This picture was in April. Since April 8th I’ve only lost 3 lbs, but even that is a big difference for my frame/height. Once I hit 136, my weight is coming off MUCH slower. It’s ok though, I’m not going anywhere…
Today!!! My “goal jeans” are getting so much closer to fitting!! I still have a bit to go though.
I wanted to post this for anyone that feels defeat when the scale doesn’t move for a week/weeks. Also for those that are putting in ALL the effort and only seeing the scale move a few ounces. Don’t just rely on a scale, use photos and/or a tape measure too!
*Please excuse my makeup mirror. I promise I clean it.29 -

So much so it makes me want to cry. Thank you for the motivation!1 -
@alllgaun, I got 1500. I wanted 1200, but find I want to eat if I restrict myself. If I sent it too 1500, in have the option to go under. Today, I only ate 1300. You CAN change it yourself, you know.2

I love this thread! Yes, this includes me! @brittgreenlikethecolor88 We share a body type for sure. I am looking forward to sharing some pics myself. Thank you for the inspiration. You did a lot of hard work.1

I second that! I think I just finally admitted to myself that I want to look like you and that it's okay to want that for myself--I may not get there, but there is nothing wrong with trying!1 -
I am 5ft 2in and have struggled my whole life with my weight; I am 55 yrs old and weigh 175.6 lbs and desperately want to get down to 150 lbs and then go to 130 lbs. I know it takes a lot of discipline, tracking, exercise and being truthful about what I put in my mouth. It's not that you have to be crazy and starve yourself, that is never the answer. Eating real food (no processed "crap" and limit sweets and alcohol) is usually the best way for me to get the weight off. Also keeping track of my weight loss on a daily basis helps me understand what is working and what is not. The scale will fluctuate daily but you can easily pinpoint why and focus on what is working and eliminate what is not. I fooled myself into thinking that if I just ate healthy and exercised the weight would come off, I didn't want to track it and become "obsessive" and aware; unfortunately, for me that approach does not work. I have to stay on top of it or I gain 10 lbs without realizing it!
Stay the course is my motto and celebrate the small victories, they will add up over time! I am totally inspired by all the great posts and before and after pics! Thank you for helping me realize I am not in the alone.10 -
IM 5'2 and 143lbs. I would like to get back down to 130. I started to gain weight after I had my son. I really never lost it as the "baby weight" become just extra weight. I'm a success story in a way because I am not giving up and am determined to do this even I struggle with the pounds coming off6

Hello
I am currently 140lbs.
My goal weight is 120lbs. I am really struggling to lose 5 lbs. I am hoping to find friends and support.6 -
I’m 5’1” 135# 68yo. Breast cancer survivor 30 years this year. Over the last year I have released 22#. My caloric intake is around 1200-1400 calories. I am VERY frustrated right now, but not giving in to a “plateau” that has been nagging me for over 2 1/2 months. However, there is a positive side to my weight release is that I started a walking fitness program February, that lead to a decrease of 11% of my LDL cholestrol and 10% increase of my HDL cholesterol. Looking forward to an increase of bone density.
Being happy and healthy is the key, though the number on the scale sometimes doesn’t make us feel that way.
I would like to breakthrough to a goal weight of 125 and tone up, any suggestions?
Thanks to all for your insights and inspirations.

5'3 sw 277 cw 208 gw 130. My maintenance is 1450-1500 cal a day. So it is 1100-1200 for losing. Turning 48 in a couple weeks. I gained the weight in 1997 after a severe health crisis. I bought a special bike in 2013, a trike because of seizures, it is low to the ground. But I didn't know how else to get moving safely. Now the bike for "Big and tall" people (only bike that could take my weight) is a little bit big, but I deal. I absolutely have to weigh my food, I have the most unrealistic portion sizes. I had to learn that a 300 calorie meal is actually just fine and I don't "starve" to death. If I feel like I am not eating enough I have a horse bowl salad with bolthouse dressing and eat until there is no way my stomach can say I haven't eaten enough. One thing I really wanted to do when I lose weight is keep it off, I have a multitude of yo-yo dieters in the family. I even have an uncle that had the LAP surgery, and a year after he took all the weight off, gained it all back! I am not interested in short cuts, I would like to make permanent changes. I came here because I was sure that 1400 cal a day should have lost me some weight, but I think due to my size and health - that is only maintenance. I see that now I am the shortest person in the family, and that does affect things.8

I was in the same position as you and decided to recomp (see recomp thread). However, it took me about 1 year to get off 10lbs, nice and slow. I look way better now though. Cut/bulk may be your style, but being a post-grad and working like a dog at a big 4 accounting firm, it was not mine. just my 2 cents.0 -

Hi everyone! I'm 65, 5'2",currently 165 down from a high of 185. I lost that from following Dr.Livingood's program online. I've been stuck at 165 for a couple months so I'm back to tracking my food better and getting rid of inflammatory things like Diet Coke and wine.Looking forward to working my way back down to 130-135. I'm on thyroid meds and anti hormone meds after chemo that make losing harder, but it's not impossible! Let's do this!!12

What an inspiration❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for sharing.
Height : 5'2
HW: 147.4lbs
LW: 116.1 lbs
CW: 133.5lbs
GW: 110-112lbs
I thought that I could finally get down to my GW in 2019 but alas covid came and boom bang wham, my weight went back up to 133ish. I just could get my mind set right when covid started and when I worry or get depress, I tend to graze and then binge. Am going to try again to get down to my GW. Thank you ladies for your inspiration photos❤️

Almost 60 years, old, at 5'3. HW: 267; CW: 233.5; GW: 150. I was 260.1 when I started this journey in March and it's been slow and steady. As I posted the other day in this forum, I feel that this is a real success given where I started since I lost the weight this time not through "dieting" or following any particular diet regime (I still record in WW Blue but don't stress over exceeding points since I now use MFP religiously and am eating between 1100-1300 calories on the average day). I am losing weight this time because I'm giving myself grace, accepting my own triggers and working systematically around them to change my relationship with food once and for all.13
