In the same boat here. Crossfit created visible results. But the injuries just piled up, & the coaching wasn't acceptable (for the cost of membership).2 -

Same here. Crossfit caused me injuries that have lasted close to 10 years now. Aggravates me every day.1 -
Come on lady lifters and recompers. Share some photos to bump this thread and inspire some of these other ladies!
You don’t have to lift heavy to recomp and reshape. You do have to lift smartly and consistently.
I am not going to set any records with this overhead press. But it does earn results, and I’m pleased with them.

I posted here about a month ago, but here's a progress update! I am 5'1", I started on 1/1/21 at 213.6 pounds and am down to 180.6 as of this morning. Progress pictures are comparing end of January vs today. Last night I tried on a dress that I haven't worn since I was about 40 pounds lighter than I am now and it fits! I give lifting credit for that. My lifts are slowly but surely improving. My PBs so far (I'm following Stronglifts 5x5) are: squat-170, deadlift-135, barbell row-81, bench press-73, OH press-54

I was lifting along with… everything else I did (I was a dancer) from March of 2019 until March of 2020. I’ve finally gotten to get back into the gym as of last month, and now I’m just impatiently waiting for my body to get the hint. 😂7

Hi, Tammy. There’s lots of ladies posting here. If you use @ plus their user ID, then the user you’re addressing will get a notification (assuming the check them!).
For example, if I address you as @TamaraWisniewskiKozak youll notice that your name turns blue and if you check your notifications you’ll see it flags this post for you.
For me, I do a combination of yoga, Pilates, walking, (slooooow) running (or fast walking!), and weightlifting. I train with a wonderful personal trainer who is an older woman like me, but who also pushes me as hard as she pushes herself. If you seek a trainer, you may have to try several before you click with one.
Others here use StrongLifts or other similar programs.

Heavy lifting is the only way! But if you're not going to eat RIGHT, you will bulk up. You need to CUT. It's all in the food not in the weights.

Any women our there getting bulky? I've come back to lifting after having a kid & getting my masters online. Crazy how much strength I've lost (and weight I've gained!) From sitting aaaaaall the time 😖6

You all are so inspiring! I've been interested in lifting for a long time. With my stiff wrists though don't think there's a lot I can do. I do my Total Gym for now and love it. Keep it going!5

If I could make a suggestion: invest in a standing desk if you can!! Every little bit helps too like parking a little further away or short walks. Also, I would say most women wouldn't get bulky but we are all individuals and I feel personally I do need more cardio of various kinds in addition to weight lifting and that works for me because I do feel like I get a little bulky (and no not cuz I was eating too much and I don't have any hormone imbalances that I know of).2 -

Google for “yoga wrist stretches”. I spend an hour or two a day in yoga classes, and down dog, arm balances, side planks, all can be wearing on your wrists.
The stretches have really helped.3 -

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm actually done with school now, which is why I have time/mental energy to care about my fitness again. Also, for many reasons getting a standing desk was not an option. Space & the fact that we were spending thousands of dollars each month on going to school being the biggest.2 -

I've been waiting almost 2 years for shoulder surgery. After decades of landscape labour I've gotten a bit spooked feeling / seeing everything above my waist shrivelling. Looking forward to getting "bulky" soon....and will be here with my before pic and ready to roll with all the inspiration you amazing woman provide. Thank you.7

Thank you ☺️. I definitely need to try harder with the food side of things I’m just finding it so hard to get in that mindset. If you have any advice for that I would be so grateful.

If I just lift weights and don’t change my diet would I still get good results and loose inches? I’ve started lifting again and it’s going great 😊 I love it and I’m pretty much back to the strength I was before I stoped over lockdown and various illnesses 😀. I already feel a bit less wobbly. I just can’t stick to healthy eating for long because I’m weak in regards to food 😕. I want to loose weight so badly so why can’t I stick to the food side of things 🤷♀️ Which is why I’m asking if I will still loose inches without a clean diet? Any advice would be much appreciated 🙏3
