Went for my run (shuffle) . Beautiful morning. I haven't run for about 11 days, so wanted to get out. I stopped at the deli on the way back to pick up my favourite cottage cheese, hard to find elsewhere , and some superb vine tomatoes for our tricolore salad today.

Then did a 25 min row to make up the 600 calories.

Decided on the white AT LAST via the sample pots. White Mist. It is much more like the Internet version than the paint chart, but it is really ridiculous how unlike the real thing both of them are. :# The painter is putting the undercoat on right now and I can smell it. Luckily, we have had good weather this week and the front door has been open. :) The pink walls look great.

I spent far too much time on a chat window with my cell phone company last night. I will ring them today. I feared I would not get to sleep after my frustration, but managed to read a soothing mind book and felt fine. Progress!

    Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Decided on the white AT LAST via the sample pots. White Mist. It is much more like the Internet version than the paint chart, but it is really ridiculous how unlike the real thing both of them are.

Were you picking colours on your computer screen vs the sample pots?

    Challenged food-wise.
I've pretty much kept to 1100 calories total past 2 days. Let's keep that up.
    on the hungry side today.
I had been having just fruit for breakfast, but was more hungry today so had 20g cereal, non-fat unsweetened soy milk, fruit, and already hungry for lunch at midday on the dot. soy thing, broccoli, carrot, Luke, 3/4 tsp olive oil. All that adds up to 700 calories already! and I am still peckish.
I guess I'll make myself a big pot of tea like I used to in the old days sometimes when working on reducing calories.... and see how that goes.

Feel half upbeat, but I know I can get into a spiral of procrastination which makes me very stressed.
Went to café and met my friend M, there to chat a while, then sat in park for 30 min.
A audio synopsis book (book of the day on blinkist the day before yesterday) says 30 min in nature (even a park) is good for avoiding burnout, and so on...

    Lovely weather.

I fell asleep listening to a cycle of synopses of non -fiction audiobooks. I think it kept going for about 2h! I wonder what I learned in my sleep. :D I hadn't realised they had autoplay on this audio book synopsis app, as a possible setting, since I just signed up the day before yesterday.

"Get to do"s and "chose well"s
Chose well: BP, swap checks at church, pick up goat’s milk, chiro,
Bonus: quick walk out to Chetco Point, Freddie’s, gas.
Get to do: take BP, dogs to powerline, call dog bather, start goat cheese, flagger course progress, USE those torture bands/do that BB&B video, call S, fire district: research NFPA, grant NIMS requirements, ongoing: input 2019 call sheets into NFIRS, work with chief on equipment letter, substance abuse policy, NFIRS mutual aid and other missing details, likewise Lee skills/tasks, ask for boots donator contact info, appreciation letter or certificate to boots donator, index mutual aid files; watch STAS Day 20, declutter sideboard, learn new dances (Tequila Little Time, Homesick, Nothing but You, A Little Less Broken, Blame it on my beating heart,; Do Your Thing, practice dances: One Margarita, I’m so used to being broke, All Night, Pure Movies to Wine, Beer, Whiskey, I ain’t never gonna love nobody but Cornell Crawford (Alley cat),); finish mulching flowerbed, invest another 10 minutes in prepping living trust, Freddie’s for complete series TDAP <$48, get Shingrix vaccine, find and configure a screen time popup, figure out where to plant the last of the naked lady bulbs, and soon as it warms up above 50 and dries out below 60% humidity I’ll tape and spray paint those rusted areas of Aunt Elsie’s stove, ask Te about GB’s FD firetruck tax levy – contacts, media, advocate???, Reward: inventory seeds, plan this fall’s garden, wishlist replenishments (Milena F1 orange peppers and beit alpha cukes next year).

25: Give your time, energy or attention to help someone in need: learn what the Oasis shelter needs to qualify for the purple leash project, or learn from Deb what next steps are for Shore Pines.
26: Find a way to “pay it forward” or support a good cause: ditto above.
27: Notice when someone is down and try to brighten their day:

Note to self, starting the day with bread is not helpful. Couple of bumps yesterday, dog bather was short staffed, would have started Tumble at least 20 mins late. That would make me late for when I thought chiro was, so rescheduled for today. Thinking she may be shortstaffed again today. If so, might cancel and try to do myself at Woof’s. Showed up at chiro an hour early, SMH really have to LOOK at the calendar/schedule with more attention. Took the opportunity to walk out to Chetco Point to make some steps. Ended the day with too many sweets but only 2 not 3 glasses of wine so CI narrowly less than CO.

Michele “… veggie burger is deep fried…” LOL! Unclear on the concept ;)
Rebecca and Michele oh to be even a tenth as flexible as Athena Rose. Safe travels!
Machka it would not be remarkable that you are exhausted, but, like Karen and Michele, I’m wondering about the quality of the sleep you’re getting. Is it possible to request a sleep study? “The West Wing” is probably my all time favorite TV drama series. The grief list and your additions really resonated. Sometimes at this age I just feel an overwhelming sense of non-specific, generalized loss.
Evelyn with your new mattress and bedding, can you pretend you’re staying in a luxury hotel for your staycation?
Julie Nature’s Way is the brand the dermatologist recommended: Good luck! Couragia! Up and at ‘em!!!
Heather you must have a keen eye to distinguish between the online and painter’s color charts. All those shades of white! ;) Stunning resort scenery!
Carol ((hugs)) wishing you a happier anniversary than you’re having. Do you have one area or room that is all your own? I’d feel choked living with all someone else’s memories. Hmm. Maybe if I turn that around to how Joe must feel, I could find the strength to purge a bit…
Katla glad to hear your DH still intends to fly to grandparent duty this fall.
Oh Beth, that sounds so very painful. Tibial fracture and dental work and grief. (((hugs)))
Allie “shave half her eyebrows off” Which half? SMH
Kay safe travels to your sister and her family. Peace to your house.
Kim WOW. The only reason my toes are within five FEET of my mouth is because I’m only 4’10”
Tracey hope the payroll system company’s investigation is SWIFT and successful. Having staff lose faith is just awful. Also hoping your DH’s Dr. appointment persuades him to report the incident, yet finds no serious damage.
Viv happy to see you dip back in! Isn’t that the way it goes? Knees, like cars, don’t display their symptoms for the expert. But soon as the consultation is over… ;)

Neck has been stiff for weeks. Chiro worked it over pretty good. So while I can move head around better, neck and shoulders feel like she beat me with sticks. Last night’s red wine and ibuprofen helped a little, today plan some hot tub time (sans wine.)

    Lighter, lovelies!

Hey all! Happy Friday! It has been another crazy week, for me. School started on Wednesday of this week, but they ended up only having half days, rather than full days, due to the high heat and humidity. So, my bigger kids were here from about noon on. It made for quite a hub-bub when they first arrived and took me a while to get the littles settled down for rest/naps. But by 1:30 on both Wed. and Thurs. it was quiet in the house and the older kids were at the kitchen table drawing, writing, doing math. School has been a welcome change for all of us, I think. The kids are happy to be back (and I am happy they are back >:) )
Allie- I am giggling at Tal wanting to shave half of her eyebrows off! :D When I was in high school, a girl in my class put Nair on her eyebrows (trying to shape them, bc plucking them hurt). Well, she ended up with no eyebrows! It was a very weird look.
Rebecca- Awww! Poor Athena and poor grandma! She is probably having a day (or days) and wondering why mom and dad are leaving her and why she has to stay with grandma. You are the only one she can take her bad mood out on. On the upside, the fact that she can be this way with you, shows how comfortable she is with you! She feels safe enough to act this way. Yup, there is a reason they are called the Terrible Twos!
Carol- Happy Anniversary! That is a lot of years to celebrate! I think you should definitely do something for yourself! Go get a manicure or buy yourself lunch and flowers! My hubby doesn't make a fuss (or even acknowledge birthdays/anniversaries) because to him, they mean he is getting older and he thinks I don't want to be reminded of them either. I myself am a celebrator of every day I am alive and every year I have made it married to him. Sometimes guys are dumb.
Rita- So sorry about the suicide! Heart breaking!
Rori- Sending lots of hugs and love to you as you go through things, remember, and honor your men. <3
Flea- Woke up with you on my mind this morning! Hope you are feeling okay and I am sending vibes and prayers for a great day! Healing hugs ((( <3 )))
Beth- Ugh! That's a lot of time on your back/butt! Sending YOU prayers for patience! I don't know if you need it; but I know if it were me, I would need bucket loads of patience! Healing prayers sent as well!
Machka- What did you eat as a child? I was a picky eater as a kid. Breakfast was peanut butter toast and water (I didn't like milk), lunch was half a peanutbutter sandwich (I didn't like jelly or any fruits), carrot sticks, and water, dinner was usually some sort of casserole M-SA, then a meat and potatoes style dinner on Sunday. I didn't like milk, fruit, and most veggies. My parents, however, made me eat a serving of what ever was served.
What did I eat as a teen/young adult- As a teen, I was able to pack my own lunch. Very often it was a bagel with cream cheese, a couple pickle slices, and some carrot sticks. Once I started babysitting I would buy lunch sometimes from the a la carte options in our cafeteria. A SuzyQ and a Coke. I would also spend my babysitting money on chips. I remember the first bag of chips that I bought for myself. Ruffles had just come out with Cheddar and Sour Cream flavor and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. My love affair with chips is never ending. It is my very favorite snack food.
I was thin (boney) in childhood and early teens. I was thin after puberty and after I had my kids. I didn't begin to put weight on until I was about 40. Luckily, during my pregnancy with my daughter (I was 23) I craved vegetables and milk. That started me eating a LOT better! To this day, I am pretty sure I could just eat veggies and be happy. I still am not a fruit eater, though.
Well, kids are arriving. Ten more hours and then my weekend begins. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Actually there's a lot of protein! I've already had 43 of projected 50g of protein.

    Totals 700 77 24 43 4 311
    Your Daily Goal 1,000 125 33 50 100 100
    Remaining 300 48 9 7 96 -211
    Calories

Half the cereal is "maxi-protein" something (3g +1g for the other half of cereal)
The almond, sesame tofu is high protein (19)
the soy yogurt+ soy milk also has considerable amounts of protein. (14g)
I'm good on that level so far today!

I find it key to eat a bit of fruit and veggie every day! I had: 1/2 banana, and a few blueberries. I sometimes don't get enough, so I'm working on that.

but not for breakfast much. With the 15g or so of protein in my cereals I figure I'm ok on that level.

BARBARA - I'm curious - the link you listed sent me to the product for about 15 dollars, before postage (about 8 dollars) but if I'm not mistaken, you said It was around 6 dollars or so plus postage.. I'm wondering if it has changed or if they list different prices for different people. I'm going on amazon.com and even tried with a use VNP.

Machka - We chose the wall colour from testers, (5 in total) but I thought picking a white would be easy. We chose one online and read the description of the base tint. When the painter showed me his chart to check it was the right one it was TOTALLY different! Much more yellow. When he went to get the testers, they were much more like the online colours, ( more grey tint) but not the same. There are hundreds of whites! We are happy with our choice , but he has only done the ordinary white undercoat, so far. This afternoon he has to take his wife to the hospital for a heart test, and Monday is a Bank Holiday, so we will see him on Tuesday. That's fine.

    Hooray! Hooray! :D
I rang my cell phone provider. They said there was a long delay, but I got through very quickly. A very nice, sensible, helpful man, who got me a great deal for a good price. Good discount. Very happy.
    It pays to persist.

Me too ... both about equally. :)

I sat like this for about 20 seconds to stretch things out a bit, and then it was easy.
