TRACEY I'm so sorry about your younger friend passing.
MICHELE
-I hope your energy came back (you said you were tired in last post) or does soon.
-that makes sense to store pans there. I've always stored pans in that drawer below ovens (if I remember it's there!) and always seen pans stored in that drawer at others' homes.
-thank you! it was a nothing boo-boo. I just was annoyed to have to put ice of it for 20 min rather than go directly to recumbent. so I had to kill 20 min and came online to check in, and - at the same time - whinge about the little boo-boo, which passed very quickly thankfully!
BARBARA doing tai chi outside sounds nice. is that your preference ? I see people doing tai chi in many parks often enough. in classes or alone.

I echo Barbie's suggestion of Dan Harris for the meditation. Both books are excellent. I read them after her recommendation. He is very self-deprecating and not woo-woo at all. I follow his suggestion to his anti-meditation doctor wife. That she lay on the floor for ten breaths and pay attention to how tired and achey she is. I do it in bed.
Had a good morning 's editing. The painter is here, putting undercoat on the woodwork. Smelly. DH at cricket. I have DimSum in the IP.
Amazon sent me the wrong face serum. I have been buying the same one for years! Luckily, I can take it back to a shop around the corner, totally unpackaged, with just an emailed barcode. Marvellous! I will take the opportunity to visit the fish market.

A week after I made the decision to cancel my line dance class, the headline in the paper was about more health measures being put in place in our county so I feel good about my decision. I'm sorry that the virus is still growing but feel better about the difficult choice I made.
Michele, sorry to hear about your family's health.
Meg glad to see you again.
I am grateful to live in my neighborhood with wide flat paved streets and sparse population so walking is safe at any time.

Dropped off the Amazon return, which was easy, and then went round to the fish market. Bought monkfish, skate and smoked mackerel.
Hot and tired coming home, so started to feel resentful that, when I reordered the serum, it had come off promotion and was £3 more, plus I had to go out walking. It was not my fault they sent the wrong stuff.
Came back, did 15 mins rowing, then set about getting Amazon to call me. Got through to a very nice young woman who gave me a £5 credit to my account. Win!
I crown myself Queen of Complaining.
The pizza restaurant emailed me today asking how my second, complementary, visit had gone. I told them I had written a very nice 2nd review on Google. He wrote back to thank me.
I filled in a form today, for a research project for Sussex University, run by the BBC, on KINDNESS. Took about 30 mins. I feel so lucky to live in an area where, on the whole, people are friendly, kind and helpful. I noticed it immediately we moved here. Very open and tolerant. Strangers will chat.
Making lamb and flageolets stew for tonight.

Hi, 50 plus new member!! Ready for my fitness journey. 😊💪💃5

Barbie – Things are worrisome here in Oregon, too. Too many people are not taking vaccination as seriously as they should and CoVid numbers are skyrocketing in many parts of Oregon. The last TV news I watched reported outbreaks in southern Oregon areas. I haven’t turned on TV news yet today. :noway:
Machka – Your spring flowers are gorgeous. :flowerforyou:
Barbara - DH has contacted the Mt Hood Keeshond Club. We will look to them when we are ready to look for a pup. We have grandparent duty in Virginia in October and early November.
Yesterday we took my car in for a tune-up. Today we’re going to get it and will leave DH’s car for its tune-up. DH’s car is older than mine, and likely to be more expensive to tune-up. We will see how much later today. Getting parts may be part of the cost difference.

Our painter was telling me that his girlfriend used to be a mystery diner, and they had some really good experiences. So I've applied! Unfortunately, they say they are only looking for café and fast food visits at the moment in our area, but I thought I would see what it's like. I had to write a mock review. Worth a try, just for fun.

Well ive got my first heavy cardio workout in a long time lol..
Went to pick up Homer and got the glider rocker come to find out the poor lady i got it from tried IVF and it didnt take so she adopted dogs instead.. some cuties I got to meet..and she met Homer..
So the car stalled again ugh dropped Homer at my place and stopped at the garage and will drop the car off in the morning...
Then I came home and took the garbage out woof . Ok so I let it pile up a bit. And I cleaned out the fridge and freezer.. i wont tell you how old some of that was 🙄
It was very heavy so I put it on a dolly to wheel out to the dumpster and the second bag broke open all over the darn place ,so i tromp back with the dolly with gunk all over me drop the dolly off go get more garbage bags and paper towels and go and clean up the mess.
Lord talk about a work out...that was it....but glad its done.. now cooling off with zero water lemonade on ice and parkin it qith the pups.
I was texting with Tracy last night..
With all the covid stuff going on they might not even let me meet my new grandson ,just through facetime...
I dont understand they have a unvaccinated teeneager going to school daily ,and a grandma who stays home and is tripley vaccinated, but hey its there choice.3 -
Heather, I had to laugh! I read “flesh” instead of “fish” lol. “Amazon sent me the wrong face serum. I have been buying the same one for years! I have to teach tomorrow, but beginning to get concerned over CoVid. My vet just called and canceled my pup’s appointment b/c of CoVid. And my local Dunkin’ Donuts has closed twice this month due to CoVid. NM has a 64% vaccination rate among adults 30 and over but the younger folks are at only 40%.
Sinus‘a have been a bugger. Allergies, my pup too! Getting her an expensive script next week for that, apoquel. If anyone knows of a less expensive place to get it, I would appreciate it. Currently $75 for 30 pills. Luckily she only gets a half one.

I have been a mystery shopper(mystery diner but also all other shops) for many years. They are fun to do and love being able to give reviews- both good and bad. I have had some amazing service at some and some that was beyond terrible. I have now started a few merchandising shops and looking to do more now that my daycare girl is in school in the mornings.

Meg--Great to see you. Missed you.
Heather--Bea is so cute, she reminds me of you.
Tracey--I have let HR know the person I want to hire and now they do their part and I am hoping to have her training by the middle of Sept. I am looking forward to going back to 44 hour weeks. Just got a call from HR and they are doing an 8 percent pay increase and wanted me to know they are offering this new person the new rate. Sounds interesting and hope that I get the notice for the rest of my staff soon.
Just call a text from DH and my nephew's ashes were delivered to him at work. One step closer to getting this done. Tomorrow DH will go pickup the marker and soon as I hear back from my Uncle about the cemetery schedule will get this done.

Michelle – I’m so sorry to hear that your son in law has been diagnosed with Corona Virus. I hope he gets through it okay. I would not visit until he is well again, either. :noway:
Machka – Glorious flower photos!!!
Errands to run again this morning. My car is back and I need to get some prescriptions and do some food shopping.

Rebecca - I see your mother in you. She looks so young.
Katla - funnily enough I had a terrible fear of dogs especially German Shepherd’s. Our neighbour had one and he knew me but still barked like mad when anyone came to the door. One time I went to go sledding with the kids and the dog knocked me down and wouldn’t let me up. His teeth were so close to my face! I wouldn’t go near dogs for a long time especially German Shepherd’s. My husbands family had two when I met them for the first time and those two changed my mind on the breed. I’m still quite nervous around all dogs I don’t know though.
Vicki - how is the hiring situation going?
Flea - I’m thinking of you often.
Ginny - hope you are safe from Covid and it’s just a sinus infection or something.
Michele - I wouldn’t worry about the daycare place. All of them are having the same issues here. It sure is hard to stay away from it.
I’ve heard the drawer under the oven was for keeping food warm. I always used it for storage.
Machka - excellent advice. I am always told to just come out and say whatever I’m thinking. I’m so worried about “rocking the boat” it holds me back though.
Beth - what a great little neighbour you have.
Barbara - she is a very well trained dog, I was using the wrong code word! 😂. She is told to “sit and wait”. I was just saying come back here, when I found that out she was remarkably different. She sits, bows, does high 5’s, shakes a paw and a couple other things I can’t remember. My daughter was alone with her a lot and wanted a well mannered dog, never having one from a pup before she watched tons of YouTube videos to help them both. Today Ember is 1.
Her other issue here was that her little lake community is very close so all the dogs greet each other, and get love from everyone. Not so much here. 😂
Heather - I love your table settings. I would feel special and welcome. Love Bea, she looks like she’s going to go far in life.
I had a fairly decent work day even though I overslept a bit and was a few minutes late. (Not late for the start time, just late for my usual start time).
Yesterday I fixed my dishwasher all by myself. It is brand new just go it in March and it wasn’t draining properly for some reason. I looked in underneath it and the hose was kinked a bit. I ran it through and it drained perfectly after I fixed it! I had asked DH if that could be the problem a few weeks ago and he said he didn’t think so. He apologized to me last night and told me I had done a good job. 😂. Glad I didn’t pay someone to come look at it.
I found out a younger (once upon a time) friend passed away today. We were FB friends now, but didn’t converse a lot. She just had a new grand baby last week that she didn’t get to meet. It took a while for me to find out, but apparently she was waiting for a liver transplant.

The photo I posted back on page 78? Its of three gals, I am on the left, a longtime family friend (more like a sister), and my eldest sister Pam on the right. But I do look like my momma.💖

Have yet to visit the gym. This week we travel to Seattle for husbands yearly liver transplant appointment. His tests start at 7am , so we start the morning at 4am, leave by 5am to get there by 7. It will be a long day. Hopefully well will be able to have lunch in the University's park area between tests and main appointment.👍💖
Athena did well, the babysitter informed to my son. With daughter in law working full time, son having to do in class learning for his college classes, they had to get a babysitter. She stated she cried a little bit, but then was able to play and feel better. Its too bad that we don't live closer and I could help them out. Son stated the morning after I left, Athena woke up asking, "Mimi play"? 💖💖

Did tracy Long Staying Power DVD then walked around the parking lot. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Cathe Cardio Mashup DVD
After exercise went to Wynn Dixie to buy a paper then home. Put two loads of laundry in. Helped Vince sand the door, he used the alcohol on it, I went in the pool while he had lunch, then we used the primer on the door. Surprised we got as much accomplished today as we did. We figure after dinner we can put the lock back in the door then have new keys made and buy paint that will match the storm door so we can paint the outside. Then all we need to do is have the door installed in February
Julie – I seem to have plenty of energy during the day, it’s just as the evening comes that I get tired. Maybe it’s the heat down here. Or maybe it’s because I tend to do so much while I’m here.
Door numbers: there was a note that Amazon wasn’t going to get the 1’s in until after Sept. 9 so we had then shipped to NC. Well, they’re going to be delivered to NC tomorrow. I’ll probably just ask my neighbor to pick them up. Had we known they were going to be shipped earlier, would have just had them shipped down here.
Got a new tea pot from Amazon. That seems to be about the only place I can find it. While we were at Brevard Charities, Vince found this waterfall that has a wolf on top. I think Jess is going to like that, she and Colby like wolves. We just had to get a new pump
Allie – good thoughts for your neighbor
Heather – you sure epitomize the saying “the squeaky wheel gets the oil”
slimnfit – welcome!
Katla – maybe Denise will agree to come down since we can’t go up. I’m talking in December. PJ has never been to our house for any holiday. Maybe since we can’t go up there they’ll come down here. I bet Denise will try to come up with some excuse why she can’t, tho
Rebecca – doesn’t it make you feel good that Athena wanted you?

I've been MIA again. I was at my parents' house on Sunday afternoon, visiting my sister & family who have evacuated from NOLA, when my father fell and broke his clavicle. He had to be transported by ambulance - they couldn't even tell us which hospital because so many were on diversion because of COVID but said they would call us. They would not let anyone go with him and told us the hospital were not allowing visitors, but that someone would call us. Three hours later, I called non-emergency dispatch to ask where they took him. I called the ER to be told one person could be with him and it had to be the same one person for the duration of his stay, so I was elected. CT scan revealed a blood clot in his lung which was more concerning to them than the broken clavicle. I was still in my church clothes, which included SPANX under a short, cotton skirt - not the ideal for spending the night in the hospital, but whatever. Once admitted to the hospital, he was allowed two designated visitors, so Mama came and relieved me Tuesday. I had to be back down today at 7:00, but he got to come home so now my sister can help. He's doing really well now, but Monday was a rough, rough day. My father cannot take Percocet - he started sundowning, trying to hit the nurses, refusing his meals, throwing his breathing treatment mask at the respiratory therapist, accusing one nurse of touching him inappropriately (I was right there; she picked up his leg to put it back in the bed because he was trying to get out.) I asked them to stop Percocet and morphine and to give him Tylenol instead and to put him on oxygen to see if that would help with the dementia. It totally went away with oxygen and no more hard drugs and he was back to his regular gentle self. The nurse wrote a request for him to go home with oxygen so that the insurance would pay for it. He's needed it for a while, but kept resisting. We are telling him it is temporary until he gets over this rough patch.
A friend and I have signed up for a metabolic reboot program that begins Sept 5. We are hoping it will give us a layer of accountability that is currently missing. The program is limited to 30 people and we will have group coaching Zooms on Tuesday nights. I'm hopeful that this will be just what I need to get off this plateau I've been on for a couple of years.4
