Sep 18: 150 Aaaaand the water bloat ๐ŸŒŠ I just want out of 150s this month...
    Sep 19: 150.2 ๐Ÿ˜ข
Sep 20: 149.4 new week, not giving up. Clearly not losing weight this month though
    Sep 21: 149.2
    Sep 22: 147.8

This was in my inbox this morning from MyFitnessPal. I find that Iโ€™m struggling with more a balanced approach, and currently using exercise to undo snacking. Which is a default mindset Iโ€™ve had for years.
Also the โ€˜sugar freeโ€™ alternatives convert in body similarly to alcohol??? (all ends up as simple sugar in blood stream), so that explains why Iโ€™m being pushed off track with snacking and cravings getting out of control.

โ€œThe best way to achieve weight loss is to focus on behavior change rather than focusing on what the scale says,โ€ explains Paul Greene, a clinical psychologist at Manhattan Center for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. โ€œSuccessful, sustained weight loss involves changing habits, and changing them permanently.โ€ That way, you donโ€™t risk re-gaining the weight you lost when you return to pre-weight loss habits. โ€œFor this reason, I recommend dietary and exercise changes that feel sustainable over the long-term,โ€ says Greene. โ€œFor example, running 5 miles a day will certainly help in the short-term, but it might not be sustainable indefinitely.โ€ Instead, you might focus on running 5 miles three times a week, and walking for an hour on the days you donโ€™t run.

No weight-loss journey is linear. But people often feel tempted to give up when they have an โ€œoffโ€ day or see the number on the scale rise. โ€œWhen people are caught in this mindset, they set themselves up to have to be perfect, or to fail,โ€ Pashby says. โ€œBut if people embrace the idea setbacks are a normal and expected part of the change process, they tend to bounce back more quickly and pick up right where they left off.โ€

For instance, people usually brush their teeth several times a day. But if they miss a brushing, they donโ€™t give up on dental health altogether. โ€œBecause we are able to recognize that dental care is a series of small actions, taken repeatedly over time, we tend not to judge our own self-worth based on whether or not we brushed our teeth that one day,โ€ explains Pashby. Similarly, if you can learn to see weight-loss behaviors as a series of small actions, performed over time, it becomes easier to keep going, even when you slip up.โ€

Thank you for sharing that. This is so true, and such a simple comparison. If only we could change our views around weight, weight loss, and the path to fitness so easily.

I find my weight and weight loss in general to be the single thing in my life that I've been merciless about with myself. It has tainted how I view myself -- has since my teens. It will be up to us individually to see the process in a new light. <3

24 Sep: 209.9 Struggled with the munchies yesterday. Exercised to make sure I had extra calories. Bought extra berries and low fat yogurt to sway myself to healthier munching. But I could have eaten a bag of tortilla chips if they'd been open. Small wins, right?

@babysaffy I hope you're resting and on the mend. And try not to be too hard on yourself. A little loss this month, and maintaining at a minimum, is a success as well.

    Happy Friday, everyone.

    Sept 8: 220.4
Sept 9: 221.8 Ugghh! So bloated for the last few days. Blech
