I definitely got your back @swenson19d

I stopped losing when the running ramped up too, but I was OK with that because I was dead-set on running all those half and full marathons (and did). But the fact remains, if you train hard, you have to feed your body.

In a weird way, this plantar fasciitis has helped my weight loss recently because I can walk over 200 miles/month without aggravating the foot AND eat in a deficit without ever feeling fatigued or hungry. Granted I was in a fair bit of cardio shape from a few months of running before I started all that walking, might be hard for someone to just start walking 200+ miles/month straight off of the couch.

I am sure everyone is different, but from my data it seems that once I start running 35+ miles/week is where I can't find a comfortable way to eat in a deficit.

Weird, for no reason at all, while sitting here typing and not doing any activities at all, my Garmin watch just decided to trigger an emergency alert notifying my contacts via text that I was in distress.

I'm not in distress, by the way.

    I'm fine.

How weird that this happened today, after the questions about using watches for that feature.

    Hi everyone,

Crazy weekend at work. I am going back in tonight. My husband just told me that they are deploying the National Guard to our hospital tonight.

My plan was to run 7 miles last night. I was really fatigued from working my shifts. I usually just blow it off when I feel bleh, but talked myself into running at least 2 miles, but aim for 4 miles. It was cool weather and the first mile sucked but not as much as it usually does. Completed 4.17 miles at the same pace as when I had fresh legs. Next run will be Thursday x 2 miles and then the half on Saturday.

Found out that we have to wear masks before and after the run. Not sure if there will be hydration stations or any support groups cheering us on. Also they limited the run to 2000 participants.

Just wanted to weigh in on the sock discussion. I went through a phase where I would buy running socks at the Expos. My fav are Balegas, which aren't always at the expos. I am still missing a sock....I think that the washer ate it.
My real weakness is outerwear. I love, love, love outerwear....and actually drool when looking through catalogs and also on-line. Now I don't need any new coats, sweaters, etc. but can't help myself. What is that disease?

I am also in the middle of selling my house. So stress, stress, stress....will be glad when I can move past that part of my life.

Will try to catch up with posts. Have a great week!

@Teresa502 Great race report. You did great. Looks like a fun race....I had to laugh that you "had" to beat the 80 year old. I would have felt that way too. The first place times for men and women were both amazing. I can't even imagine! Glad you got to enjoy the beach too.

Nice long run @martaindale! Those gels don't sound like anything I would want to try either.

@swenson19d You can do it. Just take one day at a time.

Great job at getting over 4 miles in @ereck44 ! Good luck on your half on Saturday.

Oh, I <3 a sweater! I have far too many considering I live in a place that barely gets cold enough for a sweater a few months out of the year. But I live for those few months. I have already told myself I can not buy any sweaters/fleece/fuzzy pullover things this year. Time will tell...

And good luck with your HM @ereck44

@Scott6255 I love that feeling of just gliding on a run. It happens so rarely but it does make the run feel like a privilege.

@WhatMeRunning You still there? Do we need to call someone for you? :p

@swenson19d Hang in there! It's so hard trying to make changes to your diet and exercise at the same time.

@Scott6255 So happy that you had a great run today!

    Nice run @CarsonSurfs !

Thanks for setting up Oct @martaindale ! Glad you were able to get your husband out to run with you. Hopefully it will help him feel better and it won't take as much prodding the next time.

@skippygirlsmom You have made an amazing comeback!

Great hike and report @katharmonic ! Love the pictures and only one to go! That's amazing. The views are also amazing. Do you know how far you can see from the summit?

@rheddmobile Great job. That is very steep and sounds like very rugged terrain. You had a great pace increase from the first time.

A couple of friends and I decided that Wednesday would be our hill day so we ran the hilly route this morning and plan on hill repeats next week. One of the girls is training for a trail marathon and it certainly won’t hurt the rest of us. Today’s run brings me to 105.28 for the month.

Amazing comeback from that broken ankle @skippygirlsmom!

Lovely hike @katharmonic! Isn’t it funny to think of hiking for 8 hours is a “shorter” day? The views are gorgeous and the blue of the sky is just amazing!

Great pace improvement on your new trails @rheddmobile.
