Partly cloudy and upper 60s F today. Was as pain free as I've been in 2 months or so.
@rheddmobile Great job on your race!!!!! I think I would retire from racing if I could get under 30:00.
When you pop in here claiming your December 2021 mileage, what accomplishments will you have made?
PUT THE FUN BACK IN THE RUN!
Return to a good running weight of 175 lbs (second attempt)

Great job @rheddmobile !!!
For those doing the Guinness WR attempt 10k, I did figure out how to log on. There's some info under "first steps" in the portal to help you know how to upload your proof of run. Exact time frame by location is there, too. And if anyone wants to join, there's a free option (no medal), just run 10k on Sunday and upload screenshot from run tracking app.

5 miles this morning. It was warm and humid and no breeze.

Sounds like a good doctor report @julieannegannon
@skippygirlsmom I don't know how I missed your September HM but congrats! (how about we just say it means you are running so much now it's harder to notice???)
Way to keep that streak going @quilteryoyo
@7lenny7 yoga is something I have been wanting to get into myself, just haven't figured out what it is I specifically wish to do (information overload out there on yoga).
Congrats on the runniversary @rheddmobile
@Scott6255 you know you're a runner when you run 7 miles on a low battery...
Thanks for the info @polskagirl01 I was able to sync it up to my Garmin account with no issues

@juileannegannon glad you weren’t to the doctor and he it was anything broken. Great news.
Thank you @rheddmobile I’m honestly getting worried I’ll never get under a 13 minute mile pace again. I’m considering early next year hiring Skip’s old coach to help me with speed. Interesting about Memphis and the curfew in the park, is it a crime issue? The race went great, better than expected, I need to buy some kielbasa now thank you very much…wait there might be some in the freezer. Love the headband and nails!!
Ha ha thanks @WhatMeRunning I appreciate that. Thanks @Scott6255

Morning 6k with breathing issues, evening 5k at a faster pace with run club girls and forgot I even had exercise-induced asthma. I'm not sure what the difference was. Why are evening runs ok, and morning runs not?
September Goal 190 km
Upcoming races:
September 18 - Bytom HM (Silesia Half Marathon Crown #2/4) *I'm going to see how this goes and then decide if I'm going to sign up for the final HM in this series, since it will require taking off work and running half marathons two weekends in a row.
October 10 - HM around Żywiec lake (SHMC #3/4)
November 11 - Independence Day mountain 10.6k5 -
Short 4 mile recovery run, as legs are still a lillte achy from Saturdays race. Pace of 9:48 min per mile and 596 feet of elevation.
Wow! This thread moves so fast. It's hard trying to keep up with all the posts!
September cumulative:

7,418/10,000 feet of elevation6 -
@polskagirl01 Could it be the humidity or higher pollen count?1

I'm continuing on pace to break my record for lowest mileage month Yesterday work happened and running did not. Today I missed my planned warm-up run before yoga due to getting a phone call. But I decided during yoga that I would take the time after to get the run done even though it meant being later to work than I intended - I knew I would be staying late tonight. I stopped at the canal trail on my way home and did my 5k, which felt surprisingly fine after Sunday's race.
Thanks all of you who congratulated me on my Spartan race. You guys are all awesome for your support. I mentioned here that this was the first time I was seeing these obstacles since December 2019. I backed out of doing the Beast (HM distance+). which was the right decision - although my friends did it and had an awesome day for it on Saturday. They had great races and I felt a little twinge of regret, but I truly was not ready for that. The Sprint (5k+) on Sunday I was still plenty worried about. Killington is a ski resort and it is no joke for steepness. We only did 1600 ft elevation gain total in the sprint but I swear most of that was in the first mile. This is where hiking so much this summer was a benefit.
I was so excited to get the monkey bars, the rope climb, and the rings all on the first try. There were 20 obstacles in all and I missed one, the spear throw. I did my 30 burpees but then there was no line so I tried again and got it on the 3rd try. So excited! The dunk wall water was brutally cold but fortunately the rain held off and despite being windy it was not as cold as I feared. The sandbag carry up and down the steep muddy course was the hardest one I've ever done. The last obstacle on the course was the monkey bars and I was filled with dread because it's right at the end when you are tired and right in front of spectators. With every swing I grabbed the bar and said under my breath "do NOT let go" and prayed not to lose it now. And I did it! Then just a quick jump over the fire and we were done. My Garmin clocked 5.89 miles but I think it was more like 4 (Spartan 5k is never just 5k), my watch is always way too generous when there is elevation.

September Goal: 95 Miles
9/1: 4.05 miles
9/2: 5.51 miles
9/5: 7.51 miles
9/7: 4.11 miles
9/8: 4.31 miles
9/9: 5.51 miles
9/12: 9.11 miles
9/14: 4.6 miles
44.71/95 miles completed for September
Today's plan was 4 miles in 41 minutes. I ran 5.6 in 50 minutes. So a little longer and a little slower, but Hal says I'm on target. It was a good run. Not as nice as Sunday, but still good. I saw a little family of deer near the park. I haven't seen a lot of deer this year, so that was nice. Tomorrow the plan is 3 miles at HM pace of 9:19. It's only supposed to be 66°F in the morning, but 98% humidity. So we'll see how that goes.
I'm going to post this and then go back and get caught up on the thread.
2021 Races:

Yesterday I ran a mile on the treadmill as part of my morning workout. I had a track club meeting at 6:00 at a local park so I ran a couple of miles before the meeting. It was hot so I took it slow. This morning I met four other friends and we ran a little over 5 miles.
Happy run-aversary @Rheddmobile and congrats on your beating your 5k race goal!
@katharmonic – You are one tough cookie! I love the smile on your face in those pictures!

4.5 easy miles on the RTP trails at 12:05 average pace, collecting cobwebs along the way.
My goal right now is more about time on my feet than mileage. As the aerobic base increases, the mileage will increase organically as easy pace gets naturally faster. Today's goal was 50 to 60 minutes and I came in at 54:42.
Right around 5 hours a week seems to be the right amount of volume for right now, so that's what I'll shoot for.
52.8 out of 100 for the month.8 -

We did fine - thanks for checking on me. It was super windy but our area didn't get a crazy amount of rain and our power stayed on. Yay!5 -
@julieannegannon great news about your hip! Hope it feels better soon.
@rheddmobile nice race! It's cool that you got a little in person feel with that other race going at the park. I love the race day excitement! Love the nails, btw.
@Scott6255 Good job getting your run in despite all the dying batteries.
@katharmonic You do look really happy about hauling sandbags! They got some good pics.
@CarsonSurfs Ah, the cobwebs to the face. My least favorite part of trail running.2 -
Happy belated runniversary @rheddmobile
I was worried about both my kids down in Houston, but they faired OK. Glad you are OK too @martaindale!!
Great pictures @katharmonic!!4 -
7 miles this morning. I was tired (not sleeping well) but pushed through. Slowly. Very slowly. But it's done.
