Kind of a fun thing - I ran out of silver star stickers to put on my Map to Genkijima! I use silver stickers, one for each pound, and I mark the 5s and 10s with different colors like gold or blue. It's just cool that I used up all the silver stars in a whole package! Makes me smile.
I weighed in this morning at 145.9. If you'll believe my scale I have 25.9 % body fat and 32.8% muscle. I understand that may be off but even if it's off by several percentage points that's still pretty good. In just 1 more pound I'll have lost a total of 100 pounds!
Now I'm going to try hard not to worry about that too much because the minute I try extra hard to lose weight I gain some. LOL19 -
You are an inspiration! You go girl!2

Still want to get rid of the floppy belly but it's shrinking and not so obvious under clothes. These are the size S shorts and shirt, too.
Oooh girl, look at those legs!
Amazing to see how far you have come7 -
I've finally hit the big 100! I've lost 100.2 pounds since January 6, 2020. It's a good feeling.
If my scale is to be believed, and I do take it with a grain of salt, my fat percentage is down to 25.1 and my muscle is up to 33.1. So technically, if those numbers are true, I'm .1 away from a body fat percentage in the healthy range.
I still have a floppy belly to get rid of, LOL. I'll count myself done when that's mostly loose skin without fat inside.22 -
Hello SandTiger, I just started on My fitness Pal this morning. I am starting at 240 lbs. I can’t believe I weigh this. I’m also 68 years old! but that’s not going to stop me from moving forward. Your progress has inspired me. I hope I can reach my goal also. Thank you for your determination to succeed, it inspires other people to try. Did you think in the beginning that you would get where you are today?
Well, here I go………. Minnesota758 -

Hi there! You're welcome! I don't think I'd be where I am if it weren't for all the inspiring stories on MFP. They proved to me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that anyone can lose weight given enough time and persistence. I didn't think I'd make it this for. I'm not quite to goal but really, really close!

Great job1

Congratulations on losing a 100.2 lbs!
That is awesome. Are you sticking to your goal weight or re-evaluating it or shifting to more fitness related goals instead? Do you have a special reward or event in mind to celebrate your achievement? Have you noticed what motivates you changes as the weight and life has changed?2 -

Great questions! Yeah, my goal weight has evolved to somewhere around 130 pounds rather than 140, but honestly at this point I'll quit when I've lost most of my belly, and am under 140. So I'd like my body fat percentage to be around 20 percent ideally.
I am probably going to get a tattoo at some point to commemorate this, though I have to buy a bunch of new work clothes first, LOL. Part of my motivation now comes from wanting to maintain this level of energy and capability, and never, ever wanting to go back to how I was. I need to be careful to make sure I never forget how awful it felt to be so big, as being healthy becomes my new normal.7 -

Thank you so much for saying so! I intend to keep on going till I hit goal. I'll keep sharing too if I think I have found anything worth sharing. All the best to you in your own journey!4 -
@Sand_TIger absolutely amazing progress! You started this thread in January of 2020...right before the pandemic! Bravo! 👏(standing ovation).1

Thanks, GigiAgape! I don't think I would have done so well if it weren't for being able to work from home, away from all the potlucks and snacks at the office. I feel grateful that I've had such a long time to build better habits.4

True enough, BMR/TDEE calculators and fitness trackers just give us a starting point and our actual results will determine if it was a correct starting point or perhaps we need to adjust. Consistency is a great thing when losing weight, but also flexibility: adapting our strategy based on what works and doesn't work for us!3

I've had to make a hard decision lately and cut down my friends list to the bare bones. I'd noticed that my interactions were reducing in quality and I wasn't supporting my friends well enough. Some unhealthy thought patterns about food were coming back as well as some hiding behavior where I would think about not logging things just because I would know that everyone could see - and in my head, that means being judged.
So I've trimmed my friends list down quite a bit and I'll see how it goes. I've realized that when I have a ton of stuff in my feed, it reminds me way too much of Facebook or Twitter, and I can't stand either platform. Having to deal with something like that is enough to drive me off MFP and I'd rather stay - it's been really helpful, after all.
Regarding progress, I'm holding around 147 right now - a touch up from my lowest low of 144.4, but still below 150. Goal for the winter is to hold at 150 or below, so I can make a fresh start in January, and practice eating at maintenance calories. It'll be a break for my body and mind, and feels more natural in the winter time.9 -

Congrats on your weight loss and journey to better health -- and thanks for sharing with us here.
It's good to recognize unhealthy thought patterns. I made my food diary private some time ago because I felt judged about the entries and found it was a good decision.

Totally agreed! It's funny, too, about being judged - I can have almost as much discomfort over positive comments as I would over negative ones! I know that people are trying to help and most of the time I keep my diary open as a mental exercise, but right now is different. Thanks for your thoughts on this.4 -
I try to keep my MFP friends between 40 and 50…. If they don’t log for a while or ever comment on posts, I usually “ lose “ them….I read that post about your sticky stars, and I am going to try something like that….I still want to lose 40 more pounds and it will be a great incentive!….I have been going thru a lot of personal issues ( as you know ! ) but I am not quitting or giving up….mentally I know eating unhealthy surplus amounts of food doesn’t solve a thing but emotionally I have always turned to food as my comfort….thanks for all of your kind words and giving me the incentive to keep going!2

Low calorie, quick, leftover stew
Start by cutting up the vegetables of your choice and boiling them in a pot with just enough water to cover. Slice hard vegetables thinly and put them in first.
After the hard vegetables, such as carrot, potato, radish, turnip, or beet, cut up your protein ( used leftover chicken breast) and put it in.
Once it has boiled a bit, add your softer vegetables, like onion, mushroom, bell pepper, and so on.
Last of all, after seasoning with some garlic and black pepper, I put in a gravy packet and stirred till it was thick.
Chicken gravy from a packet is only around 20 calories per serving when you make it without oil. It makes a really nice, thick sauce - the resulting stew tasted like I'd simmered it for hours. Not only that, it only took 15 or 20 minutes to make on the stovetop, and I could make just one serving if I wanted to.
Hope this method is useful to someone!8 -

Hi @Sand_Tiger! I was missing your daily posts and I found you on here yesterday. I respect your decision to trim your friend list but do miss reading your posts. I appreciate that you explained why you were trimming before you did so. Anyway I thought I would stop in to say hi and also, I bought a ton of vegetables today at the market. I was like, why am I doing this, it's only the 2 of us, I'll never be able to eat these up before they go bad. But then I remembered this post so I threw a chicken gravy packet in my cart too. I have cooked chicken in the freezer. So thank you for sharing this recipe! Take care!3 -
