    @SummerSkier Congrats on RTY!

@polskagirl01 Well done on your race! I love those small races. They are hard to come by here in a city of several million, but some of the trail races are pretty small and I love the friendliness and general vibe of those races.

@shanaber I hope you are feeling better today.

    December Totals: 68.9/100 miles

    12/3: 3.1 miles
    12/4: 6 miles
    12/6: 4.6 miles
    12/7: 4.7 miles
    12/8: 3 miles
    12/9: 5.1 miles
    12/11: 9 miles
    12/12: 4.5 miles
    12/13: 5.1 miles
    12/15: 3.1 miles
    12/16: 5.6 miles
    12/19: 10 miles
    12/20: 5.1 miles

The cold front blew in!! Both yesterday and today I got to run in 40’s and relatively low humidity (75% or so). It was glorious and it is nice to be able to wear tights for a change. I have a few items for cooler weather and I never get to wear them. It’s an exciting day to break out one of those outfits!
It is time to change shoes for sure. I ran in newer house for both my long run and my 5 miles today and legs feel good. I have been getting some aching on shorter runs with my other shoes, not bad but noticeable. If I can do 15 miles and feel good or 4-5 miles and be sore, the shoes are the problem. So, YAY to new shoes. These will be super colorful so I’ll post a pic when I break them out of the box.

Congratulations @kgirlhart on meeting both of your RTY goals!

Hope you are feeling better @shanaber.

Well done on your race @polskagirl01. I love that your son ran his race in the yard! The Christmas market sounds lovely – even with the fire!

The moon was beautiful this morning @Tramboman!

Glad your ankle felt better and you were able to get out for a long run @Scot6255

Go run_sara_run Go! I know you can get those miles in before Wednesday! I also have a hard time with treadmill runs….

@martaindale - I love your explanation for @quilteryoyo! Did you get to try out that new sofa this weekend?

Sorry about the computer issues @katharmonic. Your lights run and dinner sounds fun!

My running group skipped our run this morning so that we could meet for Christmas coffee. I’m meeting a couple of the ladies for an evening run after work in a neighborhood that always had lots of Christmas lights.

Great explanation of @quilteryoyo's diagnosis. You sound very knowledgeable. And YAY to new shoes!!
@run_sara_run I hear you about the treadmill. I can only do that for a day or two before I get sick of it.
    @polskagirl01 you are a beast!
@shanaber hope you are feeling better today!!

@Teresa502 I tried out the couch at every available opportunity and it is awesome! The most comfortable one I have ever owned, and I'm not just saying that because I haven't had one in almost 5 months!
You can tell that's a running group in your pic because even in regular clothes, about half of the people are in running shoes! I love that your group is tight enough to get together for a holiday coffee. I try to find a running group every now and then but so far, every one I have found meets at times that just don't work for me or are way too fast for me. Some of these groups are INTENSE! For now, I just continue to plug away mostly alone.

Thanks! Compared to what you'd expect from Christmas market, this one was really tiny. It's a small city, approximately 90,000 people.

@martaindale Great explanation of @quilteryoyo 's diagnosis! Do you work in that field?

@run_sara_run Remind me why you're doing so much treadmill time? Was it weather-related? I don't have much advice as I don't particularly enjoy the treadmill either, but having something to watch sometimes helps.

Today I ran about 8k around the neighborhood and purposely chose a couple extra hills. I want to get to 25,000 ft of running [+speed-hiking] elevation for the year, using Strava's count. I'm getting close, but need to be intentional about it.

I like this picture from Saturday's race. I'm in the middle with the blue hydration pack.

Now that's a true trail runner! Right down the middle!

Thanks @martaindale, @teresa502 and @Scott6255! I am feeling a bit better. No run though. I got all dressed and a series of issues kept me at home and then I just decided it was for the best and did a light strength workout at home. I will get out tomorrow for a run before the rain moves in. I am still sore all over but my joints no longer hurt. I was a bit worried yesterday because it felt like when I had rheumatic fever as a kid. I don't think I have been exposed to strep so I doubt it could be that again.
@run_sara_run - I can't run on a treadmill. Mostly because what drives me to run is getting outside and if I had to do it all inside on a machine, well I just wouldn't. I know you can get those miles in though, you've got this!
@polskagirl01 - you had quite the busy weekend! It is awesome that your kids are involved and running too. Love that your son ran in the yard and still got all his swag even though he couldn't be at the race! I hope he is feeling ok!
I also love that you are running straight through the mud! Mobycarp would be proud ❤️
@martaindale - great explanation of @quilteryoyo's diagnosis. I don't understand why more doctors don't spend the time to walk through it like that with patients.
Speaking of radiologists, has anyone heard from @Avidkeo lately?
@katharmonic - love it when they catch you with both feet off the ground! It is fun the people you meet at races and hearing about other races and places they have run. It is such a great community!

    80.68/100 miles completed

I ran after work yesterday to enjoy the Christmas lights. We ended up with 5.15 miles but the overall pace was slow due to lots of stopping and starting. But, we had fun. Since I’m working from home today I waited until lunch to go out for a run. The temp was 43F but it’s one of those cloudy, dreary days that make it seem colder.

Great picture @katharmonic – in most of mine I look like I’m walking so I can relate to your comment!

7 miles this evening. Hoped to make it a slow easy run of at least 9:30 pace. Started slow, but then it creeped up toward threshold pace. HAVE to try to slow down for the sake of my aging body! But at least my average HR is going down (now back into the 120s)

    December total: 53 miles.

I ran 5 miles this morning and that officially got me to my RTY goal of 2021 miles in 2021. I was pretty excited about hitting that goal. It was pretty cold this morning at around 32°F which is not my favorite.  But it was still a really pretty morning.  The moon was big and bright.  And I enjoyed the run.

Congratulations on getting all 12 Half Marathons this year @katharmonic!

Does any one else want to join @skippygirlsmom and I in the Run the Year challenge? The tracker is open and I believe we can start setting up teams for next year.

It looks like our Run the World team is not quite going to make our goal. 😔

Kept is sleasy this morning on my neighborhood trail. Saw my trail friends and a lovely sunrise. It was still chilly this morning, but today is the beginning of the warmup. It will be about 12 degrees warmer at the same time tomorrow morning. Still nice running temps though I will be back in shorts. Booo. I really like running in leggings. The compression feels nice but I get warm so easily I only get to wear them a couple months a year here.

Gosh hard to keep up this week for some reason!

106.94 miles Dec to date out of 100 planned.

My streak of miles under 10 pace continues but oddly enough on Monday I discovered that my watch GPS actually calculates differently based on HOW I tell it to track the run. I accidently told it to use time vs just turning it on and the first mile I had to run an extra .2 to finish. I was HOOFING it to get under a 10 min pace. I ended up doing 3 and then decided to stop that session and start a new one using my normal method for the last mile or so. GPS returned to normal. But I never got my ,2 back.

    12-1 4.04 miles
    12-2 4.06
    12-3 4.07
    12-4 6.2
    12-5 6.11
    12-6 4.09
    12-7 5.15
    12-8 6.07
    12-9 5.02
    12-10 4.11
    12-11 6.2
    12-12 5.03
    12-13 4.01
    12-14 4.25
    12-15 6.03
    12-16 4.01
    12-17 6.09
    12-18 4.05
    12-19 6.06
    12-20 4.09
    12-21 4.08
    12-22 4.12
