Morning all, went for 2 walks with baby girl yesterday. Eating is a bite here, a bite here..didn't track..but not really hungry. I do like the IF I try to do that sometime through the week. LOL

@trooworld So glad puppy is good. I don't like liquid meds either..LOL. I like the time frame you are doing your IF...

@TeresaW1020 I hope DH does well with PT and it greatly improves his movement. My dad never did his PT...he always knew "best". LOL. I am glad you have given yourself some grace while you are getting into a new routine with DH. All things work together for good... :)

Afternoon all, I went on a short walk today, not much and not sure if I will go out anymore today. I am fighting depression and so tired of the emotional...LOL. I want to be level and balanced..but who says that's the best either. :). Watching Minions with baby girl...that's about as good as it gets today..LOL

@trooworld Yea, I think we put too much in the medical profession sometimes.. You almost want to say, thanks but no thanks. I think you know your body and your mindset. Maybe they can do something to add to your IF.. The thing I think about IF is we feel in control... :). Just listen to your body!

@trooworld I hope you don’t go the weight loss surgery route as it can be very hard for your body. And if that is something you are considering then I would encourage you to give IF a serious try and maybe even incorporate some protein sparing modified fasting. This is where you will pick one or two days a week and eat 500 to 800 calories of mostly lean protein with super low carb and fat. I plan to implement this next week to see if it will help jump-start my weight loss. I am not a fan of eating small meals every few hours. All this does is train your body to run on glucose instead of tapping into your body’s fat stores. I’ve basically been doing the small meal thing for the last few months, and it’s gotten me nothing but fatter. Soooo!!! But I get how frustrated you are. Believe me, I get it!! But we are strong women, and we can make this happen. Let’s do it! <3

@cbabie Sorry that you are fighting depression. I pray things will turn around for you. I love those Minions!

Good morning! It’s going to be a relaxing day where I don’t have anything to do. How awesome! I might even start a new jigsaw puzzle today. I’ve been missing them! Joe is still slowly healing. He took the heart monitor off on day one and refuses to deal with it. It’s his choice and I support him in whatever he wants to do. He has been so tired this week and has almost zero energy. I hate it for him, but we just got to get through this coming month and hope things will turn around once all the chemo is done. I’m gearing up to restart IF and my new eating plan, which will include two days of PSMF (what I told trooworld above). I have returned to black coffee and actually don’t mind it at all. OK, I’m going to do a leg workout and then decide what puzzle I’m going to do.

Morning all, not much to post about today. I am taking my health day by day, that includes my mental health. Baby girl and went out last night for a bike ride...she rides her bike and I walk..LOL

@TeresaW1020 You are right about DH, it's his choice and we can't make those for them. I pray he gets his strength back quickly and so happy to hear you are looking for a new puzzle. I saw an ad for one the other day on FB it was a "clear" puzzle...okay first off who would think of that and who then would try to work it..LOL. It's funny you talk about small meals..I went to a nutritionist for about a year and only gained weight...she monitored my protein, carbs, fat, etc... I paid a lot of money and time to just go get heavier. LOL

Morning all, went for 2 short walks yesterday, really sat on the couch otherwise. I cried all day, but today I am going to go to church and come home and see what I can get done on my to do list.

@trooworld I laughed so hard at your color outside of the lines...that would be my sister...me I would always color inside the lines...even if I don't like it. I hope you enjoy your paint and sip night. I had a girlfriend who had surgery to lose weight in her early days. I have seen her struggle her whole life eating..if she ate too much her stomach would burst kind of thing. If you see her now, yes she is in her 60's and she is not skinny, not huge, but I would say plump? I would not like having my eating controlling my life per say. That's not to say you would have all that, but I think you're trying to find what works for you and I know you will.... I am learning, what can I eat that will make me fill full longer, what will get my mind off the "cake", etc. I am not doing great at it, but I am learning and most of it has to do with my emotions....I have to learn how to handle those. LOL

Morning all, wow I thought responded yesterday. must have forgot to hit send..LOL I did nothing yesterday, and I mean nothing..went to church, did laundry, but sat on the couch all day and night after church. I haven't weighed yet, so don't know where I am, but based on what I have been seeing all week, it probably is a gain. LOL

@trooworld So glad your migraine went away, but nausea is not cool either. I hope today is MUCH better!!!

So I'm back. I spent all day yesterday doing NOTHING but resting. I walked 115,000 steps while I was in London. The week before I hit 55,000 steps. I'll weigh in tomorrow as I want to get rid of more airplane bloat if I have it. We had alot of fun and saw so many things. My daughter is a machine and she packed in everything she could into our itinerary into 5 days.

So I tried to skim and see what you are up to. On this page:

@trooworld You want to do some kind of weight loss surgery? I vote no. Only cause I've seen a couple of people I know go through it Take smaller steps than what you are doing now. Don't try to be perfect in your eating plan. Focus on the meal you are eating.

@teresaw1020 It's hard to watch loved ones go through chemo and all. I don't think my mom ever got her energy back. It's just hard on the body depending on what kind you get and how much. She had both radiation and chemo. So you get back to your eating plan. Keep tweaking til you find something that works.

@cbabie I hope you find some sunshine in your life. You just need me to make you laugh.

I'm working on my April goals. My first quarter was awful.

@trooworld I've been doing NOTHING a couple of days now. I've been watching the Big Leap. I thought it would be corny but it ended with some feel goods. Sounds like you had a good day. Even if you did that 3 days a week it would be better than what you had been doing. Sometimes we think we have to do our a new program all or nothing. Just reducing food a little bit helps us lose some weight. Then as we get used to parts of a program we can extend the number of days we do it because we become used to it.

That's what I'm telling myself anyway. Now I just need to get restarted.

I weighed and lost 0.6 lbs since I weighed 11 days ago. So that's good that I didn't gain any weight on my trip.

Evening, sorry I thought I replied, but I think I saw something and got sick to my stomach and just left ....Funny how our emotions effect do much of our beings. I have done nothing that I can say is healthy or productive today. Well I did get some food at the store..but they were completely out of baby girls yogurt in the big container, I had to buy 4 small ones...what a price difference. LOL. Out of the blue one of my old girlfriends text me and wants to catch up. I had text her about 6 months ago and we were supposed to catch up and didn't. We are supposed to duo on Friday. I hope it comes about. We were very close when she lived here, but she moved out east to be with her kids..

@trooworld yea on doing stickers..I used to do stickers...but then baby girl wants my stickers too..so I am going to start a dry erase board with marker stickers..LOL.

@theslightedgeforever welcome back..glad you had fun, even if DD kept you right on schedule. LOL. WE all need little life breaks once in awhile.

Hi all. Just popping in to say hi 👋 TOM had me gain back nearly all my loss so now it's nearly gone I'm just focusing on tracking again. Not getting any exercise but it's ok. because in 2012 I lost 50lbs in 6 months without exercise so I know i can do it again through my eating! It's just a bonus for me at this point.

@cbabie Yeah, I’ve seen that clear puzzle. NO thank you!! How nice that you are going to reconnect with an old friend. :)

@theslightedgeforever Welcome back! So glad you and your daughter had a good time in London. I’ve always wanted to go there. Maybe someday I will. Yeah, my first quarter has been a huge bust which is why I’m turning things around. You will too! ;)

@trooworld Love the sticker idea! Joe gave me a super nice planner that I wanted for Christmas and then I learned how to rely on Google calendar and stopped using the expensive planner. So, this week, I turned it into my Food, exercise, IF, and reflection journal. I think we both benefit from visual aids. :) Just stay determined and you will get the scale moving in the right direction. Are you also tracking WW points with IF?

    @roz0810 Yayy another IFer!! :grin:

Good morning! I was super happy to wake up this morning with the scale telling me that I’m down 4.2 lbs since restarting on Monday. Granted that is mostly water weight from eating out on Sunday and consuming wayyy too much chocolate the week before. Did I tell you that my mom bought me a case of my favorite dark chocolate? NOT the best idea but dang tasty while it lasted! :D Anyway, I’m working on growing my fasting muscle and readjusting my mindset, so I don't think I need to eat just because my stomach is growling or my head wants a snack. Last night I was watching my obsession Love it Blind and all those people do is drink and eat while they deal with their drama. But I got on my IF community forum and read a bunch of posts to gain strength. And this morning the scale rewarded me. Yayyy!! I’m off now to work out and then take a trip to Aldi to see if they have any chicken. Walmart had none! :s

@cbabie I'm glad you can catch up with an old friend. So start small and pick one thing you can do to eat healthy.

@roz0810 Think of all the things that exercise can do for you besides help you lose weight. Can you start small? That's what I had to do yesterday because I was not in the mood so I did my stretching. Today I will do my stretching and add 5-10 min of cardio. I just need to regain the habit. My body hurt less when I was faithfully going to the gym in the mornings plus doing my stretches. I can see how stopping my stretching when my daughter showed up made me relapse. It was only 2 weeks and I thought it really wouldn't matter. But it did.

@trooworld I had scones almost every day. I'll look for a pic. Yaaay on your walking video.

@teresaw1020 You're off to a fantastic start. Keep it up! I'm a visual aids person too.

So I'm ready for Q2. April-June. I just finished a book about project management and I decided to turn this health journey into a project. I followed all the steps that they listed and have things such as a risk assessment plan and estimated schedule. Even a table of contents. It looks quite professional. LOL

So now I'm going to do some reverse engineering and work backwards on these goals and actions steps. I listed all the risks that could cause me not to stay OP or exercise or drink my water. How can I reduce the risk? How can I lessen the impact? Now to just work the plan.

I forgot how how satisfied I can be with airplane portions like a Bento Box. So I'm looking here to give me some ideas

    https://purewow.com/food/bento-box-lunch-ideas

My number one task right now is to make a new Trello Board for Red/Yellow Days and decide which meal goes where and start creating some lists and cards. Easy to drag and drop. Plus I'll already have an easy shopping list made out.

So in keeping with the project management theme, you all will be my board members. :D My goal for the end of June is 10 lbs.

Morning all, yesterday was a bust for anything. Today I still have a slight headache from yesterday. I can't believe this is the last day of March...where oh where did the 1st quarter go? Baby Girl loves the Movie Home...animated and we watch it at least 3 times a day..ugh. She dances and sings to the music which is fun to watch. I don't even remember if I posted about my gain..I did gain a lb this past week, not surprising..sugar was my constant companion. LOL

@trooworld I love your pictures of your ap, thanks for sharing. You are rebranding yourself...LOL

@TeresaW1020 Moms..they know what we like and can't help themselves..LOL. happy dance on the weight loss and great job for pulling from your friends your support while watching your show.

@theslightedgeforever You are mom and dad combined in your creativity. I just want someone to tell me what to do and do it...LOL

@trooworld Nice app. I like the visuals of it. Yaay on staying within your window. Here are the scones. The first one was a bit too brown on the top for me. I still ate it. lol The second pic was at afternoon tea in Bath. Scones are on the bottom plate. It was so nice. They had a violinist, celloist, and pianist playing while we ate.

@cbabie I can tell you what to do but you wouldn't listen. :p Today would have been Grandpa's 107th birthday. So what one thing can you do right today. Remember that book One Thing? (I think that was the name, lol)

I worked a bit on my Trello board yesterday and have about 6 meals entered. Plus I wrote down the action steps that I will need to do in order to make this work.

@theslightedgeforever I love that you are working on the steps of project management in your health journey! Yesterday, I told a woman new to IF and wanting to know how to get started that she had to work it like it’s a job and not a hobby. Ohh that Bento box idea is great! Do you plan to meal prep them or just make one fresh when you want to? We will have a board meeting at the end of the month for a full assessment of your project and goals. ;) Those pictures are full-on food porn love!! <3:D

@trooworld I looked on Prime for journal stickers and there are so many to choose from! Along with my planner, DH gave me a pack of colored mechanical pencils so I’m coloring coding everything. I’m not tracking calories/macros, but I am writing down everything I eat. That book sounds awesome! I am a huge believer that we first have to get our mindset right or our weight will never go and stay in the right direction. Good for you for making a plan to get out and walk or hike! One of the things my Beachbody group is focusing on is getting outside and moving more. I need to work on that for sure! B) As for adjusting to the hunger, you will adjust if you just keep pushing through. Drinking water and going for a walk is a great way of getting that hungry feeling to subside. Are you clean fasting? I mean nothing but water, black coffee, or plain tea while fasting. If you have anything with sweeteners, calories, or even sweet/fruity flavors it will be much harder to fast. I’ve done it both ways and the clean fast truly is where the magic happens. ;)

@cbabie I hope your headache is better today. How old is Baby Girl now? Watching littles is the best! :)

Good morning! It is a beautiful day, and my scale was down again this morning, and my BMI went back to overweight and not obese so that made me very happy! :) I fasted 19.5 hours yesterday because I was at the church cleaning and just kept pushing myself until I was done before I ate. Today, DH goes for his third chemo treatment, and I will clean the sanctuary while he is at the cancer center. He woke up feeling better than he has in weeks and I’m praying that he doesn’t suffer too badly this round. His shoulder and leg are much better and this morning he was able to get dressed without any assistance. I’m excited to see what this month brings us all!

@trooworld Trello board: I've made it easy. Just 4 lists Red Lunch, Red Dinner, Yellow Lunch and Yellow Dinner. Then a shopping list and a meal plan list for the week. 6 lists Total. The cards just have the name of the recipe and then I put the link in the description so I can just click on it when I'm ready. I add the ingredients I need at the store to the shopping list as I make the cards. I used the "covers" red and yellow so the cards are easily identified. I'll use Week # labels so I can only show the cards I want so I can rotate the recipes I like each month. I really only set this up once and then tweak a bit here and there with new recipes. Look at how long you fasted versus you gave up too soon. You did great. Focus on the gain not the gap.

@teresaw1020 I think I'm going to do both. Meal prep so I have some pre-made things like plain chicken breasts, teriyaki chicken, black beans, etc. in the freezer. But then I will just do the bento boxes daily. If I lived by myself this would be easier but I'll just keep tweaking til I get it right for me. Board meeting: That's a scary thought but yet if I was a true project manager, I would have to report my results, right? Woohoo for the overweight category.

Okay, back to adding more recipes to my trello board.

Good Morning!!! Hope everyone is doing well and survived April Fools day. Thankfully almost everyone was too busy to get into jokes at work yesterday. Can’t believe it’s April already time is just flying by. I somehow have the next 3 weekends off including this one so I’m very happy and thankful about that. Can have some much needed time to relax and spend with the furkids. Going to see about taking the dogs for a walk later, weather is supposed to be nice. They have been very good, relaxed doggies this whole week. Think having last Sunday off to just let them run and have freedom after church services helped. I also will take some time to work on my personal statement for my application into grad school. Going to be too late for 2022-2023 year but one school that I have my eye on will let me take 2 courses prior to starting. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

@theslightedgeforever Haha I often say if I lived by myself eating would be sooo much easier! I love my people and don’t want to lose them but I’m telling you that I will NEVER be the boss of another person’s menu again.

@gemwolf110 sounds like all is well with you! I’m sure your furkids love going for walks on a nice spring day. That is good that the school you want will let you take some courses early. Have a good weekend too! :)

Good morning! Yesterday DH had his third chemo and because his sodium was too low again we had to go to the hospital for an evaluation. Five hours later we come home with instructions to up his sodium tablets and limit his fluids even more than we have been. It feels like it’s always been something lately. Work is stressing me out too because of an invite card issue with the man I use to print our stuff. But no worries, I got it handled because there was NO way I was telling pastor that he wasn’t getting his cards tomorrow for church! For the last two days I’ve fasted for 19.5 hrs. but the eating wasn’t the best yesterday, so today I’ve got to reign it in. I want a good weigh-in on Monday. :)

Morning all, yesterday was an emotional rollacoaster ride....did end up at the park for about 20 min, baby girl found a "friend" ..LOL. however did not eat until 8pm and so it was almost a day of fasting, not that I had that in mind...just when drama causes stress, you don't eat. LOL. I was nausea this morning, but made my self eat some oatmeal. Baby girl went to sleep at 6:30 pm so when we had to get up early, like 5:30 when we got back from our "errand"...she wanted to WALK...I am like girl I have not even had my coffee yet..but she was too happy about walking for me to say no. LOL

@trooworld I love that you are fasting and succeeding. Yes sister is right...focus on the what you did, not the other...I have heard that twice today..focus on what God is doing, not on what you don't think he is doing... :)

@TeresaW1020 I want to know who created the game of life...you know these days, the board game would have some other "life" issues don't you think? I hope DH does way better and has a quick turnaround from the treatment. No one likes to be sick. I am not sure who it's harder on, watching someone you love be sick (mental, emotional, physical) or the person who is sick. So I am glad you have your sticker book to keep your mind focused on good things. :)

@gemwolf110 Sounds like you have a great "time off" planned with your furbabies. It's nice to relax...last night I took a hot shower and I tell you it felt soooooo relaxing and good. LOL

@theslightedgeforever You are right, why would I listen? I mean you are the younger one. LOL. I do try to listen, and I am so proud of how you use your skills. Funny I was a project mananger/CS person..just can't manage my own life too well. :). Maybe I should look at it as a job as @Teresaw1020 said LOL
I bought a meal plan for crock pots and lean cooking, haven't really opened them.. I have good intentions, but no follow through. Remember our brother? That's the plan...LOL as he sat in the chair doing nothing..

@gemwolf110 I agree. I can't believe it's April. Sounds like you have a good plan for your future mapped out. Have you been working on your healthy habits?

@teresaw1020 Do you have your meals planned out for your eating times or do you just grab and go? I've got my meals planned out now I need to make sure they are cooked and ready to eat. ;)

@trooworld Your food sounded delicious. So what meal plan are you doing right now? WW? Oh just went back and read. Clean Fasting. What are you expectations from this each month? Did you ever get back to your Tonal?

@cbabie This is where you and I are different. When drama causes stress, I always eat. I'm glad you got in a walk. So go open up the crockpot book and tell me about the first recipe. The problem with books like that is that it gets overwhelming. so choose ONE THING. You may not even like the first recipe but look at it anyway as if we want different we have to do different. So we break down that recipe into small steps and just focus on the next step.

    1. Open up book and look at first recipe.
    2. Read through it.
    3. Write down ingredients you don't have on hand
    4. Decide what day and time you will have this. Is it lunch? Dinner?
    5. Write that on your calendar.
    6. Go grocery shopping
    7. Put ingredients into crockpot and turn it on;
    8. Enjoy!

@trooworld Some would say that putting lemon in water isn’t clean fasting but I’m on the fence about it. The only reason to not do it is if you feel that it’s keeping you from fasting longer than you want to. And if it is then try cutting it out for a few days. I really do recommend Gin Stephens's book Fast, Feast, Repeat. If you want an easy to understanding, yet very comprehensive book on fasting hers is one of the best. I’m also really loving her new community. It’s not too big and has such great people and support. It cost but I think it’s worth it. Let me know if you want the link. ;) That Italian meal sounds divine!! :)

@cbabie Sorry that you had drama and glad you have Baby Girl to spend your days with. She sounds precocious yet delightful. Yeah, I can’t imagine what the game of Life would look like if it was made in this crazy time we are living in.

Hello! Today has been good. We went to church this morning and then I worked at the computer and made a menu and grocery list for next week. Tomorrow I will do the grocery shopping and clean my messy house. DH is feeling good today and I’m thankful for that! Tomorrow I’m going do 21 Day Fix, which I’ve done before, but I love that program and the coach Autumn. Fasting is going great and I’m averaging around 19 hours give or take. I would like to increase some this week so I can get into this cute Easter top that is living in my closet.

Hello. I am thinking of joining WW. They have a deal right now. Are counting points easier than counting calories? How is the WW site to use? Is it worth the expense. I tried calorie counting and lost some but I don’t want to be tracking all of the time. I did keto, which was great for my diabetes but I find it restrictive. I went off keto and am gaining weight back. I get really hungry in the evening. I feel like there is a pit in my stomach that I can’t fill. I am lactose intolerant so that limits some food choices.

Also are there any promo codes ?

@trooworld Then by all means put that lemon in your water. I actually would too. Good, I hope you do read the book and then we can discuss it! ;)

Hello! Not much going on except me with a ton of energy from fasting so I’m taking advantage of it and deep cleaning the whole house. The final number for weight loss this week was 2.4 lbs. I’m happy and hope for at least that much next week. Right now I’m super motivated and determined to get back to where I was and then on to my goal. That evil voice tried to tell me that I could get a little Easter candy at Walmart today and no one would be the wiser. I told that >:) to back the heck on up!! :)

Morning all, I didn't realize it had been a couple of days that I had been on here. I have been super sick with a stupid head cold. I am just praying baby girl doesn't get it...I don't do well with sick people. I lost 2.4 lbs this week, it wasn't because I tired, but I will take it..LOL

@TeresaW1020 So happy for your loss and so excited to hear DH felt great and you had a "normal" day. We all just need something that will motivate us. Like one day of complete tracking, makes you want to track the next. :)

@trooworld So happy you get to walk by the water, how relaxing. Thank you for explaining WW to our newbie...See how you use your skills to help others? :)

@theslightedgeforever ok, okay, ok, I will get a recipe down and try to do that..Yea for you on your plan...great PM skills. :)

@loriB642 I think we all have done WW and its a good program. I was tired of paying the money and took to the skills I had learned..the only problem is you get great support from the meetings and chat..but that's why we are all here. LOL. Welcome glad you found us!

@teresaw1020 Some good things have come out of Covid time though I think. People have learned that they really hated their jobs and would have been stuck there forever and not had the courage to quit and find something they like. People got to spend more time with their families. Although that can be good or bad. ;) I think 21 Day Fix is a good sensible plan. Yaaay for saying NO to the Easter Candy. 2.4 lbs is great.

@lorib642 Welcome to the group! I think counting is counting. Whether it's points, calories, carbs, fat grams. I've done them all. Tracking is always the same. I think the difference comes in your environment and the kinds of foods you like to eat and the ones that will make you stay consistent the longest. Keeping that in mind, if you want different you have to do a bit different. WW has a lot of zero point foods that can keep you full and can be a go-to if you are hungry. If you like alot of meat and cheeses then counting carbs are the way to do it. I was on a moderate carb cycling plan and lost 23 lbs in 6 months. Went from pre-diabetic to normal glucose readings. Then covid struck. That messed with my mojo. If you are not a meat, egg, cheese eater then counting fats might be your plan. Some people like this plan and the CDC used it for their diabetes prevention program. I guess their aim was to reduce calories and fat has 9 calories per gram compared to carbs and protein which is 4. The bad thing with just counting calories is that it is too easy to eat non-nutritious food and still be on plan because you stayed within your boundaries. I have watched WW across the years change their point system to encourage people to choose more nutritious foods. I am currently transitioning to a program that will encourage me to eat more fruits and vegetables, lentils, beans, etc. Maybe more like the Mediterranean Diet. Choosing WW digital versus showing up in person: Some people need the embarrassment of gaining weight in front of someone to keep them on the straight and narrow. For other people it doesn't matter. You just have to figure out which kind of person are you? What do you need to keep going consistently? Maybe check out the 21 Day Fix like @teresaw1020 Instead of calories you count # of containers. I just use the containers to measure my portion sizes.

@trooworld Please be careful with the weight loss medications. After the Fen-Phen mess, it made me leery. (that doesn't look spelled right, lol) I think I would like that nurse visit and weekly check in with working on something. It can be discouraging when one time we can lose weight easily and then other times we are hitting our heads against the wall. Your pic looks so serene and calming.

@cbabie I think we cross posted. We always talk about how much you and Theresa are alike. Now you've lost the same amount this week. LOL I hope you feel better. Being sick is never fun. I don't think anyone in our family is great with sick people. (Cause we were all trained to suck it up. :p ) I'm sitting here trying to think of what you mean with PM skills. I've come up with Postmaster. Prime minister. Nighttime skills. >:)

I lost 0.6 lbs this week since I've returned. I'm still not back to where I want to be on my exercise. I've been fighting knee pain and overall fatigue.

My first goal is 10 lbs by June 30.
    0.6/10
