It’s good that you got that phone call out of the way. You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life just now.
🥰 Athena, Phoenix, and Olivia. They are growing so fast.
🥳🎉 Cheers to those celebrating.
Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

Good morning! How is everyone? I'm new here and live in Arizona. 54 degrees here now, supposed to get to 75. About me, I'm 63, divorced and live with my 4 sweet kitties. I have one daughter who lives in Boston. I'm not new to trying to lose weight, but hoping tis is the last time I "Start over". Looking forward to making new friends! My first name is Kama.
WELCOME!!
we now have seven kitties inside(plus many ferals that know where the food is at all times). Just lost my favorite of the group. Missing him. All of our cats are formerly feral/rescue kitties.
Looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing about your cats.

Blah day today. Overcast and a little chilly (58 degrees). I’m weather spoiled! 😂 it was sunny an 90 a couple days ago!
Just chilling. I did get my closet cleaned out, or rather moved the clothes around from winter to t- shirts. I have a meeting tonight the the group I’m a board member on. Not excited about it. It is at a Mexican restaurant I don’t really care for.
DH talked to his work today and they are saying he must be compliant with doctor orders and medications to work there. He’s not happy about medication but is willing to try so he can get back to work. All good moves!
Prayers, hugs, congratulations, and thoughts for all of you!

Machka— DH has had a productive meeting with his doctor and another appointment is scheduled.
We both had a meeting with a woman who is in the business of home healthcare. She requested to see that his shoes were not slick. An old pair were thrown away but dh had a new pair that don’t have slick soles. She plans to find a part-time caregiver and possible housecleaner.
This feels like a huge whirlpool. We have many more changes than I expected.
I would appreciate hearing your thoughts.6 -
Hello Ladies, I am 53 and have been back and forth a bit in the past 9 months or so but finally motivated to get back in shape. I was 145lb and a size 4 at 49. After losing 30lb I was weight training x3 a week plus cardio when I was diagnosed with cancer. I am cancer free and am currently 180lb and size 12. I am happy with myself and my body but know for long term health that I should get back to being strong and healthy.
So I FINALLY feel motivated. I bought myself some new size 12 work out clothes and new running shoes and had my first intake meeting today with a personal trainer who is a woman older than me in great shape. It will be slow and steady but it looks like my MIND GAME is finally on point!12 -
Good evening all:
Betsy-good job with phone call. I would imagine Mark will drift away.
Karen-I have looked at a couple of those sort of retirement places. My main problem is deciding on an area for one-here, Arizona, Columbus? Oh well, it will become apparent to me at some time.
Julie-hope all is going well.
Katia-hard to know what thoughts to share without really understanding what you are going through. It is obvious from what you have said that your husband has some definite health issues and has somewhat limited mobility. If you can get some assistance to help care for him and keep him at home, that sounds like the sensible thing to do.
Rita-blah days can be ok. I thinks sometimes we set expectations that things should always be exciting.
Kama-welcome to the group. I have two cats.
Carla-thanks! Keurig was actually bought 7 years ago (husband died in 2015). I have since gone back to regular coffee maker-because that's what I wanted!
Off to take care of dishes and pack my lunch for tomorrow. Have two more staff meetings tomorrow and then I am done with those until June!
Take care all,

Katla, my dear - I think your daughter is helping you with some very terrific, concrete actions to make you and your DH's life healthier and safer. I know it's a flurry now, and slightly upsetting, but you will build new routines as you go.2

Had a meeting with my counselor today. It went well and she is discharging me for now. I am feeling good about it. Have plans to send my DSis an Easter card but will tell her that I will not accept anything other than a handwritten missive from her. I want absolutely no contact with my bully of a BIL.
Cool and cloudy here. Bought a raised garden bed so DD can plant potatoes and she wants to try carrots. I limit my gardening efforts to cherry tomatoes and snow peas. I tried green beans but the slugs ate them all right down to the ground. We built a bigger fence around our little bush cherry. The first year the deer nearly killed it and we put a cage around it but this year it was starting to outgrow the cage so now it has a new bigger fence to protect it.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA6 -
Pip,
How are you doing?0 -

Katla - if I were in your place I would welcome the help. They will notice things that might be of concern and get you help you need. It will be a relief for you in the long run I’m sure.

Was Pip going camping? I thought she said she was.
I had the most pleasant surprise today. We are having plumbing issues and I was scared to call for a plumber. My daughter suggested I use the company that she takes calls for.
I gave them a call today, was told what it would cost for them to come do a diagnostic and from there I would get a quote. I booked it and after giving all of the information the girl on the phone said, “how did you hear about us”.
When I told her my daughter worked for them she got very excited and said “oh you get the friends and family discount”. I said, that’s great expecting it to be 10-15%. She then told me it is a 50% discount!

Worked today. Jerry actually did the pickles for me!
Loki is supposed to go for an ultrasound tomorrow.
Finished the jigsaw puzzle. Now I have to put the modpodge on it. Jessica wants me to display it, but to be honest, I don’t know where to
Rori – have a great time in San Diego. How long will you be gone?
Lisa – Egg is just helping you do your ab exercises! Didn’t you know????
Betsy – what a wonderful conversation you had with Mark. He has his problems, that’s for sure. You did a great job of not making them yours.
Kama – welcome! Another kitty lover. We had 4, lost 2 to cancer (d*** cancer cells!), now have one that has dementia and the other one has a seizure disorder and an anxiety disorder.
Lynette asked me to make her father gluten free snacks. I said “OK”. Then I was at the Green Room and realized that she probably meant forever. So I looked online to see places where you can buy gluten free cookies, donuts, etc. Actually, Amazon has some. I don’t mind doing it once or twice, but not all the time! She was going to buy the mix – I’m certainly not. So I guess we shall see what the future holds
Tina – I’m sorry for your loss. He was so young!
The Humane Society here has a thrift shop. Actually, it’s pretty upscale. Anyway, I took some of the dry cat food we had left over from when we had to put Clyde to sleep
After the Green Room went to get my oil changed in the car. While they were doing that I went to Aldi. Anyway, I had a coupon for $20 and figured with tax and all, it probably came to around $25. I happened to look at the screen and saw that they were charging $35 to my account. So I told the guy that I had a coupon and , get this, he told me that they can’t accept the coupon since the price of oil went up. Thanks for telling me! I realize prices are going up, but if you aren’t going to accept the coupon, you shouldn’t have sent it out or at the very least told me before you started doing the work. In the end, he did accept the coupon, but I couldn’t believe that he said that he was told he didn’t have to accept it.
Tracey – what a discount!!!!!
Went to the dollar store. Bought poster board to put under the puzzle while I put the modpodge on it, a graduation card for Jess and more of the mats we use outside the litter box.
Well, off to get ready for bed. Take care everyone.

Katla,
Sounds like some changes might make life easier and safer for you and your husband. You wrote about your husbands slick soles on one pair of shoes. I checked my shoes and I have two pairs that I've worn the tread from really aggressive to slick. I have slipped and never gave the worn tread a thought. I think it is good that you have someone looking for what might cause difficulties. It will be interesting what else your homeware person discusses.
Good night Gals
