Our daughter is here with our granddaughter. Granddaughter has noticed the hummingbirds that visit our feeders. I plan to give her a feeder of her own when she goes home.6

Arm from using grabber to pick up trash 3 days in a row. Good exercise for my heart and legs but bad for my arm. I do have a special brace given me a long time ago for the ‘itis’. I used g to hat and it feels better. Lifelong issue so used to it.
DS drama has new issue, his landlord is evicting him. For no reason stated. His rent is up to date but landlord said ‘he just wants him out’. Can they legally do that?
RvRita
Sorry about DS eviction! Being a renter, I believe they legally have to give a 30 day notice, but each state seems to be a bit different. I would have him contact his local housing authority, to know his rights. Good luck to him!
It made me tired reading all your physical activity friend! Pace yourself👍💖🙏!

There is a waiting list at the housing authority, and the RI one is being picketed because of it! The landlord claims he gave him a 30 day warning but it happened during his psychotic episode and hospitalization/ jail time. He caught up payments but I believe his actions and complaints during his illness is why they are giving him a week to move out. If so, there won’t be a $400 late charge and the eviction will be taken off his record. They will also give him references for a new apartment. So he is trying to find a place to stay temporarily until he can finish saving up first and last month’s rent for a new place. I’m trying to help with research and being a sounding board.
My eating is not improving but I am increasing my activity. No formal exercise but lots of walking!

fanncy0626 wrote: »Rita as a landlord in MN I would say yes. But, I think that your son must not be telling you everything. Maybe he is consistently late on rent. Maybe he is being complained about by other tenants. If there is no lease the landlord only needs to give a 30-day or 60 day notice depending on what the lease said. If the lease is up it's month to month that's 30 days. If you really need to know the truth talk to the landlord. We evicted a lady because she had a dog that destroyed our place. We were going to evict another person because they were consistently late on payment. Never on the first always on the 5th.

I really think it has a lot to do with his breakdown. The rent was taken out automatically and since he wasn’t working, it bounced once or twice. With DS, it’s never his fault but as a mother, I know better. He is getting very tiring with wanting sympathy and help from everyone. He is 37 years old and needs to grow up. I know it sounds harsh but the last 4 months plus problems in the past have made me a bit bitter and going for tough love.

going out to lunch(belated birthday lunch beings I was sick on my birthday) to a Cajun Creole place. I have never been. DH went with a friend to try it out after I couldn't go.
Very short hours open- just 11-2:30 T-F and 8am -2:30pm on Sat.
He said it was really good.
Won't worry about the calories beings I am going to be working in the garden plus have zumba tonight for an hour. I will probable bring half home(or, if there is no seating as it is outside seating only and not a lot of it) we may just bring it all home and eat at home.)
I prefer to not be over full when I eat so almost always eat half or less- Eat small amounts, just more often.
Will try and track calories as best I can.
Looking forward to trying it- hoping the hush puppies are close to what I had in Mobile,AL. So far none are close to what I had.

Lisa--I think your hand pies look nice and will be a welcome change once in awhile.
Heather-- What a cutie and what fun. Our grandchildren bring out the best in us I do believe.
Terri--Sorry for your loss. Hope your memories give you peace.
Rita--Tough love is not easy, but is the best for everyone. Been there and lived though it, at the time I did not think I would.
Beautiful day temps around 75-80. Storms starting tonight though Saturday, I sure hope we get some much needed rain. Last evening after supper we took the 2 furbabies for a walk. Boy, we are all out of shape, but they loved it, so try doing it several times a week. I have been stopping at the gym on the way out of work atleast 3 times a week. So slow but sure getting some exercise.

It's been a while since I used the MFP Diary option so thought I'd watch that for a few days. I have been away from calorie counting for years as I fast daily and really only eat one meal a day ... but those extra pounds came from somewhere and I need to be honest with myself.
Celia ... nope, my scale isn't broken either! And Debbie ... who needs Zumba after the contortions I go through "weighing" myself?
Pip ... hoping Yogi will be OK! He's such a great dog!
Rita ... sorry your son has to find a new place. Can't be easy finding an affordable apartment these days.
Katla ... a hummingbird feeder would be a great gift from you to your granddaughter!

Cloudy with sunbreaks today. Got horses and goats fed, did some weeding and am planning to wash clothes. I have bean soup in the crockpot for dinner. DD and I do soup one day per week. We have some for dinner, some for the freezer and she has some for work lunches.
The mobile home movers are supposed to be back one more time on Saturday morning to finish cleaning up. Hope they show up.
Rita - Lots of hugs.
Heather - Enjoy your outing.
Lisa - I have used done lists in the past. Need to start again I think. Definitely gives me a better perspective
Everyone take care, Sue in WA3 -
I'm relaxing in the hotel. The day went very well, but I get exhausted being with company. P gave us all a super lunch and we went to the Van Gogh portraits exhibition. Plus Impressionists. Then walked to dinner at a very pleasant and comfortable restaurant. I chose raw food, because I love it and DH doesn't. I had raw tuna and watermelon followed by beef carpaccio and rocket and parmesan salad. Ended with salted caramel truffles. Then I decided I had had enough, so I retreated to my hotel . The others are trying to install a new printer.
I have downloaded films to watch so I am happy.

Pip sorry to hear Yogi has troubles.
Annie in Delaware1 -
Evening all
Terri sorry to hear of your friends passing. I felt the need to get in touch with mine as none of us are getting any younger and you never know what is around the corner.
Lisa the "Done List" sounds good, I too struggle with "To Do Lists", maybe I should list what I have done instead. Mind you today's done list wouldn't be very long but I did go shopping and do a few things for my mum so maybe I have done more than I first thought.
Pip Yogi is such a sweetheart, it's going to be a worrying few weeks until you get the results of the tests. Hoping he will be okay.
Heather what a lovely photo. You sound a lot like my daughter (also called Heather), she finds people exhausting and hates to be in a crowd and by crowd I mean more than two people! I do worry about her, but she is happy with her own company.
I've gone over my calories again, can't seem to get with the CICO mine just go in, in, in! I missed out on my exercise this morning which didn't help. Must exercise tomorrow, there I have put it out there so now I have to do it. I am too easily distracted from exercise.
Well it is getting late, I didn't wash and put the dishes away earlier when my alarm went off (yes I have an alarm to remind me) so I had better do it now before I go to bed. It is one habit I have kept up for a few months now, getting everything tidy and put away in the kitchen. I do enjoy coming down to a tidy kitchen in the morning. I am working on a few other things, but they are a bit hit and miss. There's that word consistency again.
Goodnight all

Well, came from the doc and had a checkup to see how i have been healing and to see how i feel. They checked my insides and said I’m healing good. They said that i am healing remarkably and that i look fantastic. They okay’d me to start (i asked) doing ab work (exercises) and i can start weight lifting if i wanted. He confirmed that i will only be on the blood thinners for 6 months because i got.a “provoked blood clot”, meaning i wouldn’t have gotten it if i hadn’t been laying down in a hospital bed for an extended period of time. They confirmed the slight pain and numbness that i feel on my right side of my groin area is because that’s the area where the mass was attached so it’s still healing and my nerves were affected in that area. So they said 2 more years of visits every 3 months then 4 more years of visits every 6 months.
Lady that was walking me to the room couldn’t believe i was 62, she said i was in awesome shape. The 2 docs that came in were also amazed that i am back to my usual walking and have started running. Did my 1st 5k yesterday at the gym (i did it at a little slower pace). Still riding on my bike trainer anywhere from 5-7miles. I’m getting there and they couldn’t be happier at my progress.12 -

Pip- you are phenomenal my friend...
Well i was getting settled in and the fire alarms out in the hallway went off so i threw on my robe ,hooked Alfie up on the leash ,grabbed my phone and purse and had to go outside until we got cleared by the fire department...well that took 1/2 hr and i frizzled my tizzle and was quite embarrassed being out there in my nightgown and robe..
Someone on the 3rd floor had burned a steak .. honestly they need to learn to open windows not the doors out to the hallways when they do that4 -
Pip: You are such an inspiration! Bravo on your remarkable recovery, and I hope Yogi feels the healing vibes I am sending his sweet way.
Terri: My sympathy on loss of your longtime friend. Will you be writing a poem in her honor?
Heather: ❤ Bea
Katla: Glad your DD and GD are in town to brighten your days and assist with DH. You've inspired me to set out my hummingbird feeders.
Machka, Annie, Debbie and others in active caregiver mode: Bless you to the moon and back. It is the hardest job I ever had the privilege of doing.
Lisa: A Done List = Brilliant! It will only take a minor tweak of my daily online journal to accomplish this.
Still maintaining my general good health, and can check off having completed my mammogram and dental exam and cleaning. Yay! However, my exercise get up and go has got up and went...Not sure why I just don't seem to have my usual discipline for the recumbent bike, rower and other gym machines. I suspect boredom. If a friend texts to go for a 5 mile walk, I'm there. Pickleball practice? Sure! Or, a nice day just puttering around doing clean up of my house or deck, no hesitation. Today I went to hot springs about 35 minutes away from home, and enjoyed light swimming in a giant pool and a relaxed stroll in the adjacent historic district. So I'm not entirely sedentary. And then there is my ushering job which depending on the venue and assignment, can rack up 5-10k steps per shift. The other night I was working outside an Amphitheatre, scanning in patrons' tickets, and don't you know it started to get cold and snow! So, I just started bopping up and down to the EDM music to keep myself from getting chilled. I don't particularly like this genre of music, but the beat is infectious.
On the self-care front, I've been getting a massage every 6 weeks and a facial every other week. The facials are helping reduce the appearance of stubborn melasma.
Ran into this family of goats Monday while trekking through a nearby canyon.
Stay well, friends. We can do this.

Worked today, went to Belks since I had a coupon and got this thing to put spices on in my pantry, it was only $5, I thought it would be free but evidently I misread the sign. Went to bowling, ceramics tonight. This will be the last one for us until the 11th.
Barb – you’re right, if they took one or two deductions, my paycheck would be higher. Right now with the tax changes, we’re getting s*****d. However, I am at 0 deductions. Now I could have extra taken out of my paycheck but I’m not going to suggest that since it’ll make my paycheck lower (and the money in my “landscape” fund less)
pip – ewwwww! I hope it isn’t cancer. Of course you’re healing remarkably – just look at the condition you are in. Bet you are blowing them away!!!
Beth – even tho you’re eating only one meal/day, logging will let you know if it’s just the wrong foods
Rori – our neighbor has goats! Whenever I go for a walk around the neighborhood I see them.

I honestly don't remember, is anyone from Iowa? If so, how has your weather been? Has it been sweater weather? I'm trying to get packed for going to Jess' Tuesday

It’s been a busy month here in the group and in life. Finally! The vacation problems in the payroll system are corrected. 2 more small changes that should be made this week and it’s all done!
I may have some mental energy left at the end of the day soon.
I found out on Saturday our family will be growing again by the end of the year! Our youngest is due Dec 28th.
Currently we are keeping their current “baby” Ember the dog. They have gone to Manitoba for a memorial service and will tell his family the news while they are there.

Rita with your son's episode I would think that he would qualify for help from a social worker. Especially since he could be considered a vulnerable adult. 💞
Carla I definitely will bring as much sunshine and warmth back with me!☀️

Made a complaint to the front desk about noise in my room. I wanted to log it. I will have to visit the website, but I hope for a refund, or partial refund. This morning, at breakfast, I got them to turn the music down to an acceptable level. Win! The breakfast was fine, but I overindulged. Never mind, it's only one day.
I will be setting out in just over an hour to meet my friends at the Foundling Museum. Then a posh lunch at Noble Rot and I'm off! I'm still trying to decide whether to take my bag with me, or leave it in the left luggage. It's a 20 minute walk back to the hotel from the restaurant.
I washed my hair this morning and I'm feeling better. Yesterday was great, but I was a bit on edge. More relaxed now. I'm currently listening to a mental health podcast. 😀
